Hi Mary and Welcome:

Please stay a while. Let us know about you.

We all fall of the wagon from time to time, but the best thing to do is to get back up and start again. Girl, I have fallen so many times, it is not funny, but I am giving it another try and so far so good.

I started yesterday and this morning I was pleasantly surprised although we weren't supposed to look at the scale, but I just needed to know.

I was supposed to do a cardio workout today, but haven't felt up to it.

I ate really great today and the best part is although there is a bunch of easter candy and some cheesecake still in my fridge, I can walk past all of it. So I am very happy about that.

Hope everyone else is doing great.

Well, I will check in tomorrow to let everyone know how I am doing.

Talk to you soon.

i was a former smasher and did well, then completely stalled a few pounds till goal, so I am actually on a different program right now. Anyway, I got the new book and it seems hardcore! Im just concerned about the exercise deal. I run a few times per week but with my 4 kids and my schedule with them, I really can not get in the two a day cardios and even the 6 day per week exercise. I get it in when I can, but can not maintain that rigorous a routine....I wonder how effective this would be WITHOUT say 50% of the exercise. Any input??

Hi Kelli and welcome!

I started on Sunday, ate the way I was supposed to eat and did not do any exercising at all. I lost two pounds! That was big for me. I am a 6-day per week exerciser, but had my period, so I just didn't feel like it.: (I did my cardio this evening (45-minutes) so I think that whatever time you have to dedicate to exercising will be fine. I do think that to get the excellent results that we are desiring from this wonderful program that we have to put forth the best effort that we can. For me, it just comes naturally because I love to exercise and sometimes I have to make time (demands from driving kids) to get it done.

Bottom line, get in what you can. Don't stress, just follow the eating program as close as possible and you should see some really good results.

Have a wonderful evening!

Good Morning Everyone!

Okay, where is everyone

Anyway, I did get in 45 minutes of exercise last night. It is on again this evening when I get home. Eating is staying consistent.

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Salad, Rice and fruit
Snacks: Fruits
Dinner: Egg whites, fruit and maybe a little rice. I don't like to put a lot of starch in my evening meal.

Everyone have a good day and I will check in later.

I have a dumb question about the diet restrictions. My question is this, can you chew gum on this diet?

Int he Extreme book it said we can have two snacks in addition to the preset menus he's listed...does that mean we just pick any of the combinations listed on the "snacks" page if we want to add a snack? Sounds silly when I write it, I just needed a little clarification.

I believe so, except some of the snacks we cannot have in cycle 1. I know that he said we can't have peanut butter in cycle 1, but there is a snack option for peanut butter.

Hi Tera & Kelli:

I read a little of the new book. Still trying to concentrate on getting through this detox phase. It is getting a little harder than I anticipated especially when I have to cook for my family.

Getting ready to get a workout in. Anyone else getting in a workout today?

Yes! After all my complaining yesterday, I rejoined my gym today- it was AWESOME, I felt so high when I left! id gotten so tired of my running, this was a great change up. I did the elliptical, ran on the treadmill and did some of the machines and burned over 700 calories, WOO HOO! Now I need to read the Extreme version of the book again and see where to go with the food...I am currently on LA Weight Loss with a stall and FatSmash worked great to help with that before, so I might switch back again...not sure, cos when I DID do FS, I didnt even really move out of Phase 1 and then the loss just stopped from there. I got a little to into being in vegetarian mode and felt scared to add in meats, etc. Anyway, I will switch it up again soon, probably after a final hurrah of bad things I cant have, like PIZZA- LOL!!!! Send her off with a bang and then hit the program hardcore, thats usually what I do- LOL!!!!!

Hi everyone,
WOW, I was skeptical to start this thread but I'm glad I did, you guys really took off with it! I've been MIA lately, the kids wrapped up their Spring Break which meant for me to get back into a routine. I've started following the Extreme Diet and loving it so far. I've been trying to hit the gym everyday and I'm changing my workout routine and I'm really seeing some results. When I know I can't hit the gym after work, I force myself to wake up and do a 6am spin class and then pilates if I don't have to be in too early. I was taling to a trainer and he was telling me that you have to trick your body. Your weight plateaus when you do the same kind of exercise all of the time because it gets used to the metabolic rate and doesn't burn as many calories.
I switch up spinning with cardio kickboxing and power circuit training. Try to keep your body guessing and most of all keep it burning calories!
Anyone try any of Dr. Ian's recipes? I tried the red beans and rice but added more heat to it and it was pretty good. I expected less taste but actually got more! I also did the grilled stuffed peppers but left out the cheese. They were pretty good as well.
And the highlight of all of this was I dropped another 2lbs. I was pretty impressed seeing I went through a camping trip and Easter with all of the good food.
Have a great week everyone and I'll try to check back before the end of the week if my work schedule permits!!

work . I eat breakfast at 6:30, break moring at 9:30, 11:30 lunch,
afternoon break at 2:15. I just can not see getting all the meals in, unless

It's pretty regimented and seems to be geared towards a "quick loss" diet vs. building a foundation for healthy eating. For the first 7 days, there's a set menu. I really don't like that, but my eating style might be different than some others.

One thing that concerned me was that Dr. Ian Smith does not allow pineapple or banana in Stage 1. I eat *a lot* of pineapple and banana now on Fat Smash. I wonder if I'm sabotaging my weight loss...?
I think that the banana and pineapple have more sugar . Just guessing.

Good Morning Fat Smashers!

I had a great evening yesterday, getting in 35 minutes of exercise and eating exactly what I was supposed to eat. Also, I am finding that following the Fat Flush Detox program (Lemon Water and Cran/Water with Flaxseed) is really helping in my weight loss. I am down another 1.5 pounds, so I am a little happy camper.

I will ensure to get in more exercise tonight.

How is everyone else doing? I am at work today, so I will chat with you later.
