Hi Girls!

Well, as I told you earlier, I was going to eat badly today. I didn't do extremely badly though. I had baked chicken drumsticks with Garlic Salt 4 and then the really bad thing was a piece of Cheesecake. It's okay, I will be starting my new life tomorrow!

How is everyone doing?

VeggieLady, do you have name that we can call you? Also, thanks for the information on the ticker! I now have one as well as a picture! I love butterflies!

Well, it is off to do some sewing. I will chat with you tomorrow!

Have a great evening!!!!!!

You're welcome! By the way, my name is Theresa, but some people call me Tera. Either name is fine.

I figued I'd let you ladies know just a little bit more about me.

I'm almost 23 and I'm going back to college to get my bachelors degree. I already have my associates degree in Pre-political science, but I'm not sure if I want to continue with that, even though I'm very political.

As far as my weight goes, I have always had a little bit of weight on me, and in high school develpoed anorexia and bulimia, which caused me to lose a lot of weight. I decided after high school, that I didn't want to live that way and slowly recovered. I admit that it wasn't me that decided to get better, it was the fact that I met a particular person that made me look at life a little differently. Well, with recovery, I gained a lot of weight back.

Now I'm here and ready to get my weight back in control, in a healthy way.

Hi Tera:

Congratulations on getting your life back in order and that must be a special person to make you change. He evidently loves you for who you are and that is a special kind of love. My husband is just like that. We are both carrying too much weight for our 5'6 and 5'2 frames. Not good at all. I am a very shapely pear and proud of it I must admit. For years I wondered why I looked the way that I do and then as I got older I learned to love who I am and my curves.

I am not political at all. I wish I could be. I do have my opinions, but that is about it. I don't like to talk in front of people, but my boss is making me take a Toast Master's class. It will be good for me for the job that I do. I will be an event planner for our office. We work to bring in vendors to our organization to allow them to get bids for jobs. It is a very rewarding thing once they sign up with us and then to know that they were awarded a job, it feels pretty good.

I am actually looking forward to starting tomorrow. I am going to weigh in and I have actually decided that I did not want to just do the 9 day detox and start the actual program on a Tuesday, so I decided to extend it to 14 days and start the program on the following Sunday. I am just strange like that. I like to see things in full weeks.

I am also going to start my aerobics portion of the program. I have a DVD that is strictly aerobics. It is really great. Then later into the program I will add in the weight training.

Have you started any exercising yet and have you started the program yet?

Well, gotta go get dinner. This is late for me. No kids for the weekend.

I will chat with you tomorrow!

Bev

Hello everyone... I just picked up the new fat smash book yesterday and thinking of giving a shot. It seems pretty low in calories to me, but maybe that's what I need to finally lose this weight. (I've put on about 10 pounds in the last year and cannot wait to get rid of it.) I am also going to Hawaii on May 3rd which gives me extra motivation!
A question - is it all right to mix and match the meals? Or to have the same meals for several days in a row? I work mornings and don't think it's conceivable most days to have egg whites for breakfast. I am also a vegetarian and am curious about the veggie burger substitutions....

Hi Rose:

First, welcome aboard. I think I read in the original Fat Smash book that you should not eat the same things at the different meals on the same day. Maybe someone else can chime in on this one. I will be just starting tomorrow and so all of this is new to me.

Again, welcome and please keep coming back.

I'm vegetarian too. I'm going to replace the meat with a veggie burger. My only other problem is, can I replace something for the eggs? I hate eggs for breakfast. The only eggs I eat are in baked goods. I don't like the egg replacer stuff either, because it tastes like eggs.

December9, thanks for your kind words.
As for my workout, I do Turbo Jam, which I love! I also have Bellydancing workouts, which are fun. My friend has Hip Hop abs, I may borrow a DVD to see if I like it. And if that's not enough, I go to the gym and do yoga.

I start Extreme Fat Smash Monday!

Good Morning, Good Morning! and Happy Easter to Everyone

How are my new favorite friends this morning!

I am doing well. I started the Detox portion of the program this morning. Actually I started two Detox programs. One is called Ultra Detox. It is in the First for Women on the Go magazine that you can get at the grocery store. You have to drink 8 oz. of hot lemon water first thing in the morning (I learned years ago about the hot lemon water) it really does work with weight loss and then you drink cran-water and ground flaxseed (something to get used to) and you drink the cran-water throughout the day. At some point this morning I will eat the egg whites, fruit and whatever else was on the menu. The front of the magazine is with a lady in orange if you want to get it. With the Ultra Detoxing (from the mag), you can lose a pound a day. So, I am game for that.

My husband just finished out workout room last night. I have a treadmill, a new elliptical machine and a recumbent bike. There is also a big workout station for my men to use. I will use it only for my biceps and triceps, and maybe some chest work, but my main workout will come from using my DVDs (lots of those and still buying) and my dumbells. That workout station is strictly for the men in my house!!!! My husband will also be working out and trying to get his health in order. He will do it. My sons will be surprised when they get home. None of the equipment was there before they left on Wednesday. So no more gym for me! It was a manly gym and I started going just so my boys would be able to work out. I have one that is pretty overweight and then a slender one. So now they can workout as much as they want to without leaving the house

I love the elliptical. I decided that will be my workout in the mornings and I also plan to switch each machine up so my body won't get used to it.

Tera: I am not sure what to tell you about the egg whites. I can't eat the egg yolks (bad experience) unless they are in deveiled eggs or egg salad. Take a look at the book again to see if you see anything and if not, just do something with Tofu or soy.

I am enjoying being in this thread, even if it would be a normal check in for myself because I need to be accountable for my actions now.

I will chat later today!

I got my copy, but I'm trying to finish up another book before I start. I'm looking forward to it I'll be curious to know how vegetarian friendly it is.

With minor alterations, it can be vegetarian friendly.

Anyway, I enjoyed my last day before I start the diet. Lasagna, jellybeans and cake . I enjoyed it too much. My stomach doesn't like me at the moment.

December9... that's the Fat Flush Plan. It's a great detox. I had a lot of success on that program when I was trying to improve my digestive health. My GI tract does not like me for some reason. Never really has. :-(

Edited to add: you drink the cran/flaxseed first and the hot lemon water second. Think of it as the "scrub" and "rub".

Good Morning Ladies:

Completed my first day yesterday and did a great job. So great between doing the Fat Flush detox and the detox from the Fat Smash, I have lost two pounds! I was too excited when I got on the scale (I know I wasn't supposed to get on the scale for the entire 9 days, but I had to see for myself if it would really work and it did!!!!!)

Today I am starting to put in some exercise.

Rachinma:

Thank you for letting me know about the way to drink the lemon water and the cran/flaxseed water. That was the way that I did it this morning. The flaxseed actually has no taste, so it is pretty good. I am enjoying it so far.

Tera:

I'm so happy that you were able to enjoy your last day. For some reason it always feels like our last meal whenever we start a lifestyle change. The only thing I am having a hard time giving up is my "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter." I had a sweet potato and had to have it on there. I didn't need it on the rice, but a sweet potato is not a sweet potato without "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter."

Well, I am off another day from work and plan to get a few things done today. I will check in later after exercise!

How do you edit your ticker to make the numbers change when you change our profile?

Edit your signature. At the end of the code of the weight ticker, there should be something that looks similar to this "lb/177/125/178/.png". There should be 3 sets of numbers. It's the last set of numbers that you change. Just an example if you need more help.

My last digits say 177/125/178. If i were to lose a pound, I'd change it to 177/125/177.

Anyway, I'm pooped and it's only the afternoon. I did 65 minutes of cardio. I'm doing the gamma alterations of the diet.

Default Fat Flush and Fat Smash

Hi, ladies....was interested to read the Ultra Detox, as I, too, know it as Fat Flush. That is a brutal program, if you do it all....I could not. Still to this day do the cran-water, though. Others must be doing it to, the cost of unsweeetened Cranberry Juice has gone through the roof. I love Fat Smash, but have fallen off, so now just have to get through the 9 days. Happy Monday, all...Mary
