Wilma ~ I'm so happy to hear about your DS!!! Congrats to him!

Manvan ~ Thanks for the prayers. I can totally relate to the pack rat thing because my hubby is one. He always talks about "lightening the load" but only ends up tossing out or giving away a shoebox's worth of stuff. Most of his things just seem to have some kind of sentimental value, even if they're old smelly tennis shoes or a bit of string. I don't get it...

I hope all of you are having a great day so far. It's beautiful weather here today and it's very uplifting to see the blue sky out of my office window. I may even drag the laptop and find a picnic table outside later. I want to enjoy the sunshine before it gets too insanely hot to do anything (which it probably will in a matter of weeks - ugh, ugh). I have to run , but I'll type to you all again soon!

Default Good Morning!

Lori: I woke up during the night and you came to my mind. I prayed for you!! I hope all is well with you.

Christina: We are having a cold spell here today. It's 1C out there. By the weekend it should be 21C so that's something to look forward to.

DS was up early and off to his first day of work this morning. We're praying that it works out for him and that his knees can handle being on his feet all day. He's happy to be out there again! Praise God!

Have a super day!

Smile Kentucky Derby Day

HI GALS~

I see I haven't been here for awhile ~ AGAIN ~ I have been over on the general chatter site with a couple of threrads ~ causing trouble as usual

Not much going on here. I am just waiting aroud for the Kentucky Derby to run, playing some new cd's that came today from Amazon ~ "oldies" I try to pick up greatest hits every now and then from some of the old groups I used to listen to ~ back when music was GOOD Right now I have the Outlaws, Allman Brothers, Lynrd Skynrd, America and Crosby-Stills-Nash and Young in the cd player~ all of them greatest hits.

I am home alone at the moment ~ It was work day at dog park, we went and raked, shoveled and swept for a few hours this morning with about 20 other folks ~ ran Reba and Rylee wild Then Angie took off to her sister's house for her sister's birthday, she will be back tomorrow after taking her mom out to lunch for Mother's Day gift ~ I am staying home since our "yard laborer" comes tomorrow and I have to go pick him up and take him back.

Angie and I are still trying to figure out how we want to re-do our back yard with the deck and all, we keep changing it (our ideas) because we come up with new ones. Whatever we do, it is our plan that that is IT! No more changing the back yard around.

WILMA~ I hope the boy is enjoying his new job and being out of the house. Hopefully his knees will hold up. My daughter has been having trouble with her knee for a few weeks now, maybe too many years of tennis. I know the feeling, I separated my knee ~ ACL ~ back in 1971 while in high school, spent months in a cast, had nothing but trouble for years. Then in 1990 I severed my ACL and that was it, major surgery and off work for a year ~ ever since then it has been wonderful though!

I don't think I am going to get any say in the wedding plans ~ mine and my son's idea is to have everyone wear their favorite team jersey ~ watch the USC football game that will be on during the ceremony I'm serious too! We figure why not? Him and I are huge fans, Nicole graduated from there and was on dance/cheer squad, most of Ryan's friends are fans of USC so why not?

Angie ~ Brenda ~ and I won't have too much to do, Nicole and her mom seem to have it pretty well in hand so far ~ as it should be The only trouble with that is trying to get info from my son ~anytime we ask him questions about what's going on, we get All he seems to know is that his "guest" list is much larger than hers. right now it looks to be around 150 or so.

CHRISTINA~ Make sure you have on sunscreen if you are out in the My knucklehead nephew came home last week from high school tennis with a sunburn ~ now keep in mind he is 15, old enough to know better ~ PLUS ~ I have a spray bottle and a large bottle of lotion sunscreen in his tennis bag ~ PLUS ~ there are 3 bottles in the medicine cabinet he uses, various flavors, ~ PLUS! ~ there are about 6 bottles in the hall cabinet if the kids run out ~AHHHHHHHHHH!

I hope DH is recovering from the injury all right. Thanks for the prayers for Lori, I think she was still on this thread when you joined, I am not sure.

Do you get a break for summer before you have to go to Duke?

MAVNAN~ Any luck with the house sell? Got the boy working his butt off do ya? My son is a collector of sports stuff ~ tons of those rubbermaid crates around the house, in garage ~ lucky that I have a lot of storage area in my home.

SPROUT~How is the move going? The walking? Any luck with DS on the transition? Daughter excited? Prayers with your family in the next step of your lives!

Well, almost race time ~~~~~ my $$ is on LAYWER RON ~ my usual $1 bet with my son each year ~ he has BROTHER DEREK

Prayers for you all ~ gary

ADDING THIS IN AFTER RACE~ Well my horse didn't win, came in 12th ~ but we each pick 4 horses and I took 2nd and 4th so I still win the $1! OH YEA!

Default Thank You All So Much!

Hi Everyone!

I just want to thank you all for your prayers - things here have been really crazy and difficult.

We found out our nearly 9 year old son has Reactive Attachment Disorder and is Bi-Polar. I'm Bi-Polar so that isn't scary to us, but the RAD is very serious and he has a severe case of it. These are the people that never attach and have no conscience. I'm so scared for this child's future - for those who don't know, we adopted our 4 youngest children. This child was over 3 years old when he came to us and had many issues - the Lord led us to adopt each of our children and we will do whatever we can to help him.

The hardest part of the past few months was when he lied to his teacher and told her we had locked him in his room and wouldn't feed him. The stupid teacher believed him, even knowing his history, and called DCFS. They opened a case against us and it has been a nightmare.

As I shared with Gary, being falsely accused is SO difficult. I have a degree in elementary/special ed and can't work with kids for 5 years now. I was borderline suicidal when all this went down because my kids are my life. We adopted these children out of love - how could we abuse them? It hurt so bad to think that the teacher and social worker at school would think that. The Principal, who is our friend down the street, BEGGED them to not call, but they did -

So there you have it in a nutshell - my psychologist and psychiatrist switched my meds - I'm now on Effexor and Lamictal (which is a mood stabilizer) - all this because the people at school believed my psychotic child - he lies, steals and has NO conscience and they believed him and didn't even call us. SIGH -

Please keep praying for us and AJ - he needs the prayers more than I do, that's for sure - God Love Him -

I hope you are all doing well - I can't read all the posts - it's so hard just to concentrate on anything - but I'm getting better daily -

God Bless you All -

Love in Christ,

Lori

Hi everyone! It's such a beautiful Sunday and DH and I used the day to take a short (daylong) road trip around the state. It was the peaceful quiet time we needed before a crazy week. He starts truck driving school (again) tomorrow and I'm keeping going with the doctoral thesis. DH's ankle is all better (hooray!) so he is good to go.

The next month or so is going to be hard because I have to keep writing and also get stuff in order for graduation and moving up to Duke. This weekend I got the financial aid paperwork and it is complicated!!! I guess they aren't just going to hand me all the loan money I need without asking a few questions first, LOL. Anyway, I will defend my thesis towards the end of June and then after filing all the paperwork I will have all of July and part of August to REST before I start law school. I may even go on the road with DH since he'll be working as a trucker by then.

Gary ~ Yes, I've been wearing sunscreen, of course! In FL we probably hear all the news about skin cancer more than everyone so I've been wearing it every day rain or shine since I was 13 I'm glad you were able to relax some this weekend.

Wilma ~ Brrrrrr...that is COLD! I hope everything went well with your DS and his first day on the job.

Lori ~ I'm sorry to hear about everything you have gone through with your son. Hugs and prayers for you.

Dear Gary, Wilma and Christina,

THANKS so much for your sweet words.

GARY: Yes, we are suing the social worker. She acted like we were friends. When AJ was suspended from school in September for stealing money, I was so devastated and she acted like she would help us and she was my friend. And 6 months later she pulls this. I am calling the organization that helps the mentally ill tomorrow. Since I have a mental illness (bipolar with borderline personality disorder) they "picked" on me for "negative" raising of the kids - of course I'm negative - I have depression, mania, no borders, yadda yadda yadda. We are suing for Defamation of Character and keeping me from working at my profession among other things. I SO appreciate your prayers, love, and caring. Tell Angie I appreciate her also.

Wilma and Christina: Thanks so much for your prayers and love -

I wish you all peace, love and understanding from all you meet - may our Lord bless us all -

Love in Christ,
Lori

Hi Sue!

Thanks for your concern and prayers - I take it you just got back - where did you go?

Hey, do you know how I can get rid of my Christmas Tree and put something else up? Sunny D did all that for me and I've lost or deleted her instructions!

Thanks again!!!

Love, Lori

Default Pray for emotional eating

What a beautiful prayer. Please pray for me. I am having trouble with emotional eating. I have had a difficult past and relationships that did not work out. Pray for Holy Spirit counseling I received. For God to reveal His truth and any distortions to be revealed.
