Default A Message From Mitchy (Michele)

Hello Everyone...Below is the e-mail I received from Michele today.

My Father passed away yesterday morning. We're having the services Wed and Thursday. There's a lot going on right now, but I wanted to let you know. Here's Dad's blog for details. http://denissimons.blogspot.com

Hi everyone,

Feeling kind of discouraged today. Dh spent all day yesterday on the phone with the medical clinic, lab, and trucking school to get his drug test results, but nobody's cooperating with him. The school told him that if he doesn't get it resolved by TODAY that he will fall too far behind the class and will have to drop out. They'll enroll him in a later class, but DH and I are both tired of the delays and setbacks. I know that it's the law and that it's reasonable for them to need the drug test result (wilma - I have heard a lot about truckers taking stimulants to push themselves and they even brought that up in his classes...definitely not a good thing), but I still feel very upset for him and I fear that all the "hassles" are going to lead him to give up on his dream. He's starting to wonder if God is trying to tell him not to do this (or is it Satan trying to get in the way of something that's very good for him?) Please pray that we can get this worked out.

Christina just keep going forward with your husband and the trucking school until all doors are closed. I know exactly how you feel right now. We are sure that God wants us to buy over in Land o Lakes but our house here has not sold.

The one family that it seemed God had brought forward does not want to comit. They verbally sent a really low offer, when we countered they came up some but not really. Then when we told them good bye they have come back with the possiblilty of leasing. This now throws a wrench into things. What exactly is God doing? We could lease for a year but would really like to sell. So is Satan playing with us or is God moving us in a different direction than what we were prepared to go.

Just looking for answers right now.

Nancy

Hi everyone - quick update. The director of DH's trucking school FINALLY got in touch with the clinic, who told them that he passed the drug screen (like I had any doubt, haha). So he will get to drive, and he can stay in the class! I'm so happy they got it straightened out. The clinic still has to get the official form to the school but he can finally get started. They're even going to make arrangements for him to make up the time he had to sit on the sidelines while he waited for the results.

Manvan ~ That sounds very stressful. I hope that God's plan for you becomes apparent soon.

I'll echo Wilma in saying lurkers, MIAs, please come back and post! You all are such an inspiring motivating group and have helped me a lot over the last few months!

Thanks for the welcome.

Are you folks on particular diets/plans or are you just making your own changes to health habits?

Hi everyone...

DH's good news gets even better! Yesterday he got his first JOB OFFER!!! He faxed in an app that morning and the trucking company called him at 5:00. HOORAY! Gary, maybe I should give everything three days before I get too upset, HAHA. It is funny how things often work out within that time frame.

Now I get a new hassle to deal with. I have to provide proof of immunization to Duke, but I just found out my doctor's office threw out all my records (because I haven't been in a couple of years). YAY! Can life get any better?! LOL. Looks like I may need to get some shots and blood tests this summer.

Junia ~ Hi, it's nice to see you here again!

Default Hi !

M-kay-Thanks! for letting know about Mitchy's dad, please convey our sympathy I will keep her and her family in prayer, please let her know we miss you guys and await with open arms.
Handful ! LOL means laugh out loud. Please let us know how your doing, you mentioned being ill, Please feel free to share your beliefs, and info about your health as we support each other and keep other in prayer for health and specic needs. Post often!
Christina-I do a Mission trip every year with my youth group, it is covered through the church with usually very little money from me, just for extras, like maybe pizza one night or something. But the youth work all spring on a program of songs, and instrumentals, and skits, then we go to a certain area and do program for seniors in assisted living, or nursing homes and at churches ect. Where they can minister to teens in other churches. Prayers all goes well for dissertation speech- sounds like your all set, with new outfit you will do fine. Sorry about setbacks with DH prayers everything finishes on a smooth note, sounds like the bumps are dissappearing, job already, cool
Mavnan- Sorry to hear on top of it all your not feeling well, that is a bummer, prayers that everything soon comes together, health amd also the issues with the house, that they all work out, and it sells for a good price. Where abouts in the Bahamas, been to 4 islands there- My favorite of which was Paradise, so truely named.
Lori-Sorry that didn't work, best I could do, prayers that things work out and that all is well.
Wilma-So glad your son is feeling better, now prayer you will soon be joining him there. Pray all works out with him finding new job, and that you are able to find a good replacement for the employee that you lost.
E.Z.- Thanks! I knew I was a princess, I just didn't know of what. I have pretty much caught up with the work, at work. But I am moving from one apt to another, same area, just across the yard. My second mom (Anne) is 69 and her kids are wanting her to not be alone anymore, even though I am in the backyard. But this works out well, We are very good friends anyway, it is a huge apt. 2 livingrooms, 2 bedrooms, ect. But the fun of moving all of my crap that has accumulated for 20 years, wow! Have to be out completely by June 1st. So have been busy. Nephew- can't help but do well most of the time with you as a role model, look how well your own kids are doing. The poem is awesome, I have the same poem already framed on my wall, it has been hanging there for a few years to remind me!
Junia- Please share letting us know how your doing, and what happening! We would love to support you!
Pixie, Misty- Nice to see ya, hope graduation is going well- pixie
Well gotta run and get moving some more stuff, wanted to touch base, catch ya later, see ya!

Hi all. I'm doing ok, but kind of fighting an attitude that says "I'll never be able to do this." I was out of town for a couple of days and didn't eat badly, but did eat more processed foods because of lack of options. I wound up GAINING like four pounds. So discouraging... I feel like I have to try so much harder than anybody else to lose weight -- I look at all these slim people who eat garbage and me sitting there with a salad... not fun.

Hey guys. How are you all doing? I graduate tomorrow.. well today actually (it's 3:30am)! I'm excited and sad at the same time. I also found this strange bump on my upper leg about 3 weeks ago and lately I can't seem to leave it alone. I guess if it bothers me that much I should get it looked at. *shrugs* Prayers for it would be greatly welcomed.

Sue -- thank you

Christina -- awesome for you and your hubby!

Welcome to all the newbies!! You'll love it here.

IntriguedKI -- will do. Remember "I can do all things through Christ"!

Junia -- I just watch my portion sizes.. at the moment I don't calorie count BUT I did when I first started.

TGIF Encouragers!

It is a B E A uuuuuuuuuuuuutiful day here in Central FL. So inspiring and uplifting. It's corny but whenever the sun comes out (and it's not too hot) I just feel so much better.

Last night I made the most amazing pork BBQ...out of a diet cookbook, no less! Even DH was impressed, and he is difficult to please (one of the pickiest eaters I've ever met). Tonight it's marinated flank steak. Yum, yum, getting hungry just thinking about it

And this weekend, DH, my parents, and I are going to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate my mom's and dad's birthdays which were the 15th and 17th, respectively. The cheesecake there is so yummy - last time I had the vanilla bean and it was incredible (can you tell that I LOVE food???) I will try not to go overboard while I'm there but I'm definitely going to have a little fun.

OH, and DH got job offer #2! I can tell that this trucking thing is already boosting his confidence in incredible ways. I am so proud of him. What a blessing!

Pixie ~ Congratulations, graduate!!! WOOHOO! I am so excited for you! I had a lump on my left leg that came up about 3 years ago...I was worried but had two different doctors tell me it was nothing. Definitely get it checked out if you're concerned. It will give you peace of mind. Prayers for you, definitely.

IntriguedKI This is a wonderful, supportive group and I hope you'll come back and post often. I will pray for you as you work towards your goals. I have no doubt that you can do it, if that's what you want for yourself.

Junia ~ To answer your Q, I follow a lot of the guidelines set out in the South Beach Diet just because it really appealed to me, but I'm not that strict about it. I try to incorporate whole grains, avoid a lot of white sugars (but not completely), vegetables, and fruits in moderation. A lot of my eating plan is just watching my portion sizes and avoiding "garbage" food like vending machines and fast food. And combine with moderate exercise. And hang in there with your motivation. Those people who are eating the "garbage" will pay for it eventually - if not in weight, with health problems or other issue. Just remind yourself that you're making good choices that will pay off in the long run. That helps me a lot.
