Journal for today
Journal of the day Ask God to help you want to study and memorize His Word. Ask Him every day until you start doing it. |
I miss a bit and you move!!!!LOL
Sorry I have not been around for a while. I have not had much time on the computer. And, I have not been taking the time on here when I do have the time. I have been attempting a Danial Fast and have tried to stay away from a lot of secular things for a few days. Also, my Sister's son's girlfriends son had heart surgery last Thursday. He is 15 months old and has DeGorges syndrome. His shunt was failing and they needed to replace it. Well, God let them do more then that. They fused two pulimnary arteries and patched the hole in his heart. The poor little guy has had some very tough days since then. His mom and her family and my sister and her son are not believers, although my sister has been praying a lot lately. I have been spending what time I can at the hospital with them when I can. I am heading there in a bit. Thought I would get them some bread, peanut butter, fruit and soda as they have been eating McDonalds since Thursday.
Hopefully I can get on and catch up soon. Take care all. Diane |
Tuesday
HI GALS:wave:
Well, I was off work today, starting back on nights for a few nights tomorrow. Took the dogs on an hour walk today, about 2 miles...man am I :tired: beat! I really need to get in shape for this 5K in April. ANGIE came home from work yesterday, had already did a good run AND then took the dogs on a 45 minute walk for her  cool  down! Then my daughter comes in from leaving the house at 5:20 working all day and getting home at 5:00 ... goes right into the gym and works out for 45 minutes on the eliptical, then another 45 minutes on weights and the ball. My son is coaching the jumpers in track, at the high school where he teaches, so he just works out there. My son's girlfriend is a teacher and dance coach at the school so she gets her work-out each day. My daughter's boyfriend coaches tennis everyday, so he gets his work-out in. My step-d will be in softball by then, so she will be working out. My nephew just started his tennis PE today so he will be working out daily. I am gonna get :smoking: SMOKED :smoking: in this upcoming 5K, and yet I can't seem to find time to WALK for an hour each day...hummm....sad...sad....dad! I want to thank all of you for your kind comments on my :chef: cooking. HOWEVER! My :chicken: oven baked chicken :chicken: was really dry! I have never had much luck with "oven" fried chicken. Throwing that recipe out! The kids were good sports about it though ;) They just appreciate the fact that I tried to make something healthy! Angie usually does the chicken dishes while I stick to the casseroles (:cheese: CHEESE :cheese:) TOO MUCH CHEESE DAD!! And the :cbg: hamburger, beef :moo: and :ink: pork dishes. Angie made the salmon that was so good the other night. I will say the Italian meatballs and sauce, I have for tonight will be good and the soup I made for tomorrow night is pretty good too. I went to the store today and picked up some Filone Italiano bread for tonight's dinner, and some pugliese to go with the beef and lentil soup tomorrow. DIANE~ Prayers for the little guy! We have a couple at church, that has been going through some tough times with their little guy and his heart over the last 3 years. MARILYN~We love Ty here! Miss the old Trading Spaces with him and Paige. we do enjoy the Extreme Makeover show too, there has been two homes done within 15 miles of my house! I haven't gone by to look at them but a friend of Angie's lives just around the corner from one of them. It has been really windy here too, a freeway sign fell on a car yesterday and hurt a guy, then today a guy was riding his horse near traffic and the wind blew the horse into a car, killing the man, the horse will be OK I guess. Ya just never know do ya! Good luck at the rec.:coach: ENDIRKA~:welcome: BETH~ PONG! I loved PONG ~~ it was about the time I turned 21, my dad used to hang out at a mexican restaraunt/bar after work....I started my legal drinking there and playing in the PONG tournaments. I had PONG ~~ My son Mario Brothers, the original...wonder what my grandkids will have! Actually, I never got into video games, my son never did either. We played Mario Brothers for about 6 months, Nintendo had pretty much just come out, my dad was dying of cancer and he wanted to buy my son and daughter and my sister's girls (his grandkids) the Nintendo for his last Christmas with them, he missed it by a couple of weeks...but my son, daughter, neices and I had a GREAT TIME playing Mario Brothers that's for sure. My son had to have a BALL in his hands growing up, he just never got into the computer games...me? I'm too slow!! Sorry the play didn't work out for DD. There are so many plays going on around here every week-end, last Sunday, I counted 15 in the paper, mostly high school and slightly above that level. KIRSTEN~:welcome2: Glad to came over. we have a great bunch here and quite a few new gals. Of course I am the only guy and I just :nono: hate that :sssh: My step-daughter has put in her college applications at pretty much only NY schools, her first pick is NYU. Stick around, you will enjoy it here. BREN~ :chicken: CHICKEN FRIED STEAK! Wow, I haven't had that in years! I love it! Fries and gravy too! I'm coming for dinner!! Angie does not allow frying in the house! Good choice on salad first dear. If it wasn't for my :drill:wife:drill: I would weigh another 50 pounds! Speaking of glue sticks~~ some kid stuck a note on my wife's car, at school on Friday, with glue! For the life of me I cannot get it off! with goo gone or any other product! This is gonna cost me some $$$ at the body shop!! CHRISTINA~I thought that picture of your husband looked a little :yikes: :fr: SHOCKING! :fr: :yikes: Glad he's (OK?;) We sure are missing some gals here....some of my "old timers"....WILMA, LORI, SUE, SUNNYD, MARGIE, SAMI, MYISHA, BUNNA,SHERRY,MICHELE I know some of you are posting a little...just praying all is well with you! |
Gary.. thank you for your prayers for our little guy. I have been told to stay away from the hospital for a couple of days as he is very agitated. I just want to take some food up to his mom and grandparents so I think I will go against orders and do that tomorrow!! It is not his bio family telling me this, it is my sister, she is afraid that we are all intruding. But, we love him as much as if he were our bio family. And, there is a couple in our church who have a daughter with the same problems as our little guy and God has brought her through a lot. He will, we just need to remain faithful.
and Gary, about getting the glue off of the car. Melaluca oil works wonders. The good stuff, can't get it in stores though have to order it online. Everyone have a good night. I will see you all later. |
Lots of posts today, I see! Good evening everyone! I hope you all are having a great week so far. For me it's been so-so, pretty busy with unpacking and still having to get a lot of school stuff done!
Sprout ~ Yes, it's such a relief that my husband wasn't too badly injured. That accident could have burned his face off had he been in a slightly different position. Very scary incident, and it definitely made us appreciate our blessings. Thanks for posting the journal thoughts, I have been really enjoying them! Beth ~ Oh, I got a GREAT workout! Maybe slightly justifies all the :jeno: I ate on Saturday. I find moving fun because of the reasons you said, but hubby gets really stressed out. We also have a "fat cat" who loves to sleep on his back, and he gets along famously with the dogs. He's a dog at heart, I think. Endirka ~ :welcome2: You will be in my prayers. Diane ~ Poor little guy! I will say a prayer for him tonight. Gary ~ Dogs are sure a great workout! Especially ones of the retriever persuasion. Heehee, that picture of my husband was pre-accident. Yes, he is OK, but the explosion was very scary. A few inches in a different direction and things would have been VERY different. Everyone ~ Have a great week, and :grouphug: and prayers for everyone! |
Hello Everyone!
I know it's been a long time since I've been on here. I read all the posts and then sometimes don't have time to post. I'll try to post even a little more often. I need you guys and your prayers.
Thank you for those who prayed for me while I was doing my reviews. They are finished and they went well. I'm glad that's over for another year. Now I can get on with the day to day work again. DS still hasn't found work. Please pray that he'll find direction. He is planning to go back to school in the fall but needs to do something to earn money until then. A big welcome to all you newbies. It's so great to have you here. We are here to support you and pray for you. I do pray for your requests even if I can't seem to address everyone. Hopefully my evenings will become less busy again and I'll have time to post more often. Thanks for being here for me! Have a good night! |
Hi there Kirsten, its nice to see you. Will being praying for all of you guys, Diane. Thanks Gary. That sounds like a really pretty color Brenda.. one layer for every day of the week. Heh, Beth I see we are in the same boat then.. I tried to organize some of my clothes today.. some. Hi to everyone.
Sorry to make this short... I wanted to respond.. I'm just feeling a little depressed. |
:dizzy: Good morning everyone,
Thank you all for such a nice warm welcome. So many things to pray for, I love it! I've been out shoveling, the warm spell we've had for 2 weeks ended and we got 6 inches of the white stuff overnight. :snowglo: Was a little leary putting my little one on the bus this morning... Diane, I will be praying for the family and especially the little one with the heart problems...Sometimes, we all know, God has to bring us to our knees to get our attention...I'm praying for their family and your witness to them. Endirka, I sympathize with your situation. Mine was a little different. Both pregnancies my milk just went away...about 4 months into it. I had no choice but to put my daughters on formula. They are just as happy, healthy and intellegent as breast fed babies. Sometimes breast milk only fanatics can make you feel like you aren't a good mother if you use formula. Don't listen to them. You are doing what is best for your family now. I'll pray that God keeps you encouraged and in His word. :cheer: I'm here if you ever need to vent. I struggled so with depression for years, but God delivered me from it 2 years ago. I know how hard it can be. Praying for you....:listen: Sprout, thanks for the words of encouragement. Yes, I am pretty busy, but I still find time to quilt. It's my passion....well, third in line next to the Lord and my family.:flow1: Gary, my husband is from the Bronx and we visit NYC all the time. Your daughter will most likely love it! From California to NY...it may be a shock to her system!:dizzy: Everyone else....sorry, my littlest one just woke up and I have to get her ready for preschool...thanks for the welcomes and encouragement. Most of all thank you for your prayers...Have a blessed day in the Lord!:grouphug: Kirsten |
Prayer Request
Hi, hope you are all doing well. I have a special request..........please say a prayer for my mother. She is going in for an MRI today. The doctors found a tumor, cancer, lump, whatever you want to call it, in her breast. They don't know if they will need to do a lumpectomy, modified radical masectomy, or what. Regardless, she will probably have radiation therapy. The good thing is they caught it early. I think she will be all right. But, just the same....
Thank you and God bless. |
Another nice day here
It is only 9:30 am and the sun is shinning so nice outside - but it is cold out there - prefer to be in where it is nice and warm and cozy looking out at the beautiful sun and gorgeous Rocky Mountains topped with snow
Weight was a little down this morning - not much - but going in the right directions so should be able to change my ticker again beginning of the week -:carrot: :carrot: Beth: will be praying for your mom. I have had 2 bouts of cancer - the last was 3 years ago (3 year check up coming up in March) and at that time I needed to have 9 weeks of radiation. I know what she if feeling and worrying about - will be praying for peace and comfort for her and also the rest of the family Kirsten - glad to have you hear - keep posting pixiefalls - do come back soon and update us on how you are doing wilma - being in Canada myself I can understand the shoveling and more shoveling and more shoveling and on top of that the cold :( Keeping you in prays especially the need of a job for hubby crk - how is the unpacking going - making a dent in it yet? dilyca - praying for the little guy. I have a daughter with Down Syndrome (age 17) that had to have heart surgery - and she has only one working kidney - so I can feel for those parents - but know that God is in control, He loves that child as well as the parents and all will go according to His plan. Gary - sounds like the whole family is really getting into shape - the walking getting to you my friend - sounds like those dogs need you to take them out more ;) Everyone else - sorry if I missed your post - I am thinking of you 4 pounds lost, 9 miles walked for January 2006 so far |

Journal for the day
Here is your journal thought for the day
Consider how you can make your life a present for God today. What specific things will you do to make today His day all day? |
Hi All, I just wanted to give you an update, since you were praying regarding my interview. I received an email from HR dept today stating the following
I spoke with Rich in regards to rescheduling your meeting but unfortunately he's decided to proceed in offering the position to a candidate he met with last week. I have sent your resume on to another manager for review. I will let you know once I hear from him. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I do believe things happen for a reason and I wasn't feeling really sure about this company once the manager couldn't make my Thurs interview, then didn't show up for my Monday interview. Wanted to thank you all for your prayers though. Diane prayers going out to the little ones with the heart problem. I pray that he heals quickly and is feeling better soon. Beth prayers out for your Mom. I pray that what ever the Dr's found in her breast that it turns out not to be cancer. There are a lot of prayer requests that I have to get caught up on reading later. Contrats to all that are losing weight and are sticking with their exercise. I'm off to the center to weigh in and visit a choir friend who was sick over the holidays and went to Mexico and came back telling her Dr's something doesn't feel right. They looked more into it and found she has blood clots in her lungs, so she has to lay flat for a while to help the clots to move. |
Hi!
Sprout - awesome little thought.
Gamababa3- Sorry about your interview but I agree that all things happen for a reason- pray you find the right location for you and am sure you will, sorry to hear about your choir friend, that's rough- do they think it was from flying? Prayers for healing! Hi to all others, youth group was great we are starting to talk about our summer mission's trip which will probably be going to Maine and then to New Brunswick this year. Last year U.S. Citizens can go to Canada without passport- too much for kids to get passports. So they are pumped up. Hi to everyone else, off to beddie bye. See ya all later. |
Hey Everyone,
God is Good all the time!!!even when we don't realize it, and certaintly when we don't deserve it. Thanks for all of the prayers. I did not return to work to day after all. I am going through the teacher union requesting a leave of absence, pray with me that God's will is done. Gary- thanks for the warm welcome Beth- I am sorry to hear about your mom and the cancer, I will be praying for her. Barbara-Sorry about your friend, I have a cousin that has pe's (blood clots) on the lungs and it is a serious matter. I will say a prayer for her. Don't worry about that job God must have something much better in store for you. Diane- I will definitely pray for the little one. sue - I am glad that you are feeling better hopefully you will be 100% soon. Hello and sorry to anyone that I may have missed |
