Hi I'm Jackie. I actually was here a year ago I think and didn't get to stick around long. Work, etc. I'll try to be better this go around. Last year I lost 21 and was able to keep 18 off alltogether of it. So now I started on the first again and lost 8 pounds so far. Looking forward to getting to know you/catch up!

Default Half way to Saturday........

Hello everyone and a special hello and welcome to Jackay, lparker 777, and Sparrow. The more the merrier. You are off to a great start Jackay. lparker 777 way to go on initiating a group at church. Sparrow, we would love to hear more from you. Tell us a little about yourself.

I've been fighting something lately - a flu bug or something - but being that I have no time at work to take, I have been depending on Aleve to reduce temp. Aleve is awesome at reducing fevers by the way. It has been very slow here at work, so I sit at my desk in my little corner of the world and vegitate.

All this blonde talk. I have been a natural blonde all my life too. My hair seems to have gotten a little darker though. Maybe a dishwater blonde. One thing about being blonde is that it takes longer for the gray to show. My grandma didn't start showing gray until she was about 70

I am keeping this short for now. I will post more later.

to Lisa and Jackie! It's nice to have you here!

Lisa, that's wonderful that you were able to get a group going at your church! That takes so much initiative and I'm sure it will help a lot of people!

Jackie, good work on keeping most of that weight off and losing 8 more pounds! I look forward to getting to know you.

Beth, I hope you feel better soon!

Soooo, when I said I was finished with my law school applications, I wasn't. I decided to submit one more after perusing the school's website yet again. Then I realized that when I sent six of my applications, I forgot to include an addendum that I wanted in my application packages. So I had to mail those out today. Ughhhh! NOW, I'm promising myself I won't apply to any more schools! I will make myself wait patiently (haha) for their decisions.

I have a presentation on February 1 for school, so that's the next thing to work on! I hope you all have a great afternoon...

Thumbs up Wonderful Wednesday

Hi again to all, hope your week is plugging along satisfactorily. I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Don't have much time right now but did want to get on and say hello to all the newbies and welcome back to Jackay!!! Good to see those two little cuties again but I'm sure we need a new pic as they've probably grown a foot by now. Love all the newbies coming on this thread but boy does it make for a lot of reading if you miss a day!!!

EZ sorry about USC, watched on and off as I could w/DD wanting to watch 'something else', didn't think Texas should have had that 1st touchdown either, the guy's knee was down!! or at least it was on the replay I saw. Enjoyed your explanation of Epiphany (sp?), I know us Methodists also celebrate this time of the Christian calendar as well as the Episcopal church. Anyway, very good and right on target!

Wilma - sorry I'm just an American hillbilly, I don't know what curling is but you can bet I'll be watching for it in the olympics and rooting for your Canadian team! (Unless of course they're playing USA - sorry). Sounds like one more sport to learn, I like sports (most kinds anyway) but play very little!

Our weather is VERY unusually mild, mid-50's today and has been since before Christmas. Normal is low 30's. Can you believe this. . . . I have daffodils and tulips coming up!!! It's exciting to see but I hope it doesn't hurt my bloom for spring.

I have been walking, every day (YEAH me!) since 1/1. Part of my New Year's Resolution I guess but so far I have logged 17.73 miles this month, hoping still to make 40. I have walked 3x in the park this year too thanks to the nice weather.

Anyway, gotta run, will try to get back and do more personal notes to each. Welcome again to all the newbies (you too Jackay) come back and let us know how you're doing! Hugs & prayers - Margie

Total miles walked this month = 17.73
Total miles since 4.4.5 = 303.62

Hi Margie! Good to still see you here! Actually that is a fairly recent pic of the boys. Pulling a couple of others too here.

Ok that may be too many. LOL! So good to be back again. Doing the core plan (Weight Watchers) this go around. Feeling good, not deprived. Hopefully something has finally clicked with me. Plus in the fall of 2005 I started selling Mary Kay, which makes me want to also improve my self-image. So good to see you. I look forward to getting to know everyone here again and good luck to all of you!

Default Changes. . .

Okay, I was off playing as you can probably tell, and changed my avatar. That's my beautiful DD Sara on the right and one of her best friends Cate on the left (also known as 'my other daughter' seems like she's with us as much as she's at her own home!).

Good to see you back Jackay and loved the pics of the boys, especially the first one!!! Made me crack up! -Margie

Hello all!
I'm late getting in today...after I did all my mail and posting yesterday, I ran down big time....whew! I'm feeling better now tho and making myself complete some tasks. If I get 3 boxes donw today, I'll be ok. I need to do a L:ibrary run as I finished my last book. I owe a fine on one..ooops! I uhh.."found" it under a pile of other stuff in my clutter tub! I need to gas up my truck and wash it too.....

Hi Jackie! Welcome..back! and Lisa! Hello to you! I had "registered" a year and a half ago I guess and forgot..so I am really new too! This is a great place to be, and share a part of your life!
Lisa, YAY for you! Starting a group at Church! I desire to do that but am not sure where to start and with my hearing problem I am a real social weenie. I know if God intends me to reach out and be involved..He will provide a way to do so.

Hiya Margie!! Great job on the walking! Great pic of the girls too! Your boys too Jackie! That last one is very creative....2003-2005! Margie, our weather has been very off as well.....and yes it does trigger things to pop out, thinking it's Spring already. The wind knocks my socks off most days but the tepms are wonderful! Makes me wanna go to the Park!
I'm gonna scoot and get to the Library and back to work on my de-cluttering. I pray I will LEARN from this experience to NOT bring more stuff home!

Be blessed ya'll.....I'll be back!

Thank you for the warm and cheery welcome. I am glad to be here. I am married (since '87) and have 4 kids (16,13,9 & 7). I live in Washington state and grew up in Oregon. My interests our God, my family and I really enjoy painting ..when I can make time to do so. Also, enjoy sewing, crocheting etc.. I made an attempt to put a pic up of my family in my profile. I am the one hiding behind Mickey Mouse on the left..lol.
Anyway, I really need to take better care of my health and I know I need Jesus' help and support of other believers. So, I am glad I found a good place and look forward to meeting everyone.
sparrow

Ps.
I need prayer that I would get my meals planned out tommorow so that everything goes smooth when I start my diet on Friday. I got a pedometer today so that should be interesting.

Default I'm still here

Just that this weekend was rather busy and I was not feeling up to par - my knee was bothering me.

And then yesterday morning our friend Len had a horrible fall - right in front of us at a restaurent - had to sent him to hospital in ambulance. He is ok but that is about it - he is home from the hospital but his wife and Norm and I think he should be back in being rechecked but he is a stubborn Italian. He has had a heart attack 10 years ago and also had diabetics - when we went down he really did a number on his head - the people in the basement of the restaurent heard him fall as well as the people in the kitchen. Don't think he realises just how hard he fell - one of the owners saw him fall - she is a registered nurse -so we were fortunate she was there - she witnessed him having 2 seizures but Len feels he didn't have one - but again we no different. Has sent us really for a loop. Norm is taking all of this really bad because just before Len fell he had been coughing as if he swallowed wrong and he got up to go to the bathroom - took about 4 steps, put his hands up and I said 'Norm, he's going to fall' and by the time Norm turned around Len was down - did not buckle his knees but went straight down like a board. The noise of how he hit the floor we will never forget. Talked to his wife about an hour ago - she has to wake him up every 2 hours but she says all he wants to do is sleep - so we are praying that she will be able to convince him to get back to the doctors tomorrow - if just to ease our minds.

Anyway other than that all is well

Will have to catch up on the post and reply accordinly - and welcome to all newbies.

Hey Brenda! HAHA that's hilarious about your mom and the Donald Trump comb over. Go ahead and do it! Don't make it so dramatic that people fall over when they see it. lol well thats great about the number.. I still haven't lost since starting the gym.. quiet weird. Good job at getting back on track.

Sorry I have to make this so quick but I'm really tired. love you guys.

I've been gone for a few days and am exhaused after reading all the posts I missed. Whew!! (i actually fell off my treadmill once. OOPSY) Anyway, I am going to catch up all the way tomorrow and will try to keep up with everyone. I can't reply to individuals right now because I can't remember who wrote what but will get it together in day or two.
I have been absent because a dear, dear friend of mine, my music pastor's wife, is very, very ill. They don't yet know what's wrong but is so weak that I had to help her off the sofa so she could go to the bathroom. She is down to 105 and is 5'7". We are very worried about her but know that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle but the strength dosen't come any sooner or later than we need it. That's the hard part when you've been sick for such a long time. It's going on a year for her. Her name is Michelle and if anyone thinks about it, I know she would appreciate your prayers as would I. I've been tehre so much and my family has been so graceful in letting me give my time to her. I just pray that God will do His will and help her family through this awful time.
Everyone is so full of fabulous thoughts and ideas. I can't wait to really get back on track. I did losr 3 big pounds this last week and I am PRAISIN' GOD!! He's the only way I'm doing this.
Have a wonderful Thursday all.
Mel
