Default I'm new too

Hi All,
I was so excited when I saw that there was a faith based board here. It's hard to find a group of people who can go through this health quest and share a love of Jesus. I haven't read much here because I'm trying to find my way around which I am doing. I will catch up over the next few days and I hope to get connected here.
Little bit of history...I'm 41, have a beautiful 13 year old daughter, a wonderful husband of 18 years. I sing with my vocal team at church almost every Sunday, have precious friends and lots of support from them. I have cronic Lyme disease that causes lots of strange issues but exercise helps a lot. That's the start of me. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hey Mel (FiggyKitty), welcome here and I know.. I was thrilled when I found this group about a month ago. They are an awesome bunch of supporters, you will love it.

Brenda -- I know! It took me forever to post my last one trying to keep up with them all. Well at least you have tomorrow off and work is behind you for the next couple of days! Haha I think it does *dances the dance* Yes it really does and I'm feeling even better now that I am going to the gym! You should, they really come in handy. Awesome job on eating better! I'm trying to keep good portions as best as I can and sometimes it's hard but definitly worth it.

Wilma -- I know! I was wondering if it was hopping like this before I joined.. hmm. Now those are some awesome resolutions. I usually just say something and not follow with it but I plan to this year.

Beth -- Thanks so much. I love posting here because there is so much positive that it just lifts me up and makes me keep going! Oh man, definitly will pray for her.. I hope she is doing well. When you hear, let us know! I would guess it probably is because of the BP pills because of how your hormones are changing since you have quit the medicine.. but I'm not for sure. Prayers for you and your DD too.

Christina -- Thanks a bunch! Awesome that you are graduating soon. Aww that's really sweet. I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves. I will pray for her, hope delivery goes well!

Diane -- You are right, I loved that movie!!

Marilyn -- I'm not sure.. there are so many on here!! But thanks so much! Well, I'm not sore *yet*.. I guess because I have been using on of those treadmills + steppers that are supposed to be easier on your legs but burn for fat and calories.. I love that thing! I was on it tonight. Yep, I became a member of it on Monday! Great job on the 4 miles!!

I will try to post in the morning.. goodnight all!!

Figgykitty.. Welcome, From one newby to another!!! I am Diane. 45. 4 boys ages ranging from 7 to 25. DH and I will be celebrating 20 years in June! Looking forward to that!! I have around 50pounds to get rid of that I gained with the youngest boy. lost 30 of it and then my folks got sick and I needed to help them and started putting the 30 back on, then I was diagnosed with cronic asthma and the prednisone helped me put the rest back. Trying hard, but I wonder some days if it is hard enough.
Sprout... I think that if folks have a bit of a background in religion they will catch the connection in Narnia. Well, I almost didn't so I should not say that!!!LOL I was almost to the end of the books before I made the connection. LOL
Everyone have a great day and I will try to check on you all later.

Default Good Morning All!

The weather here is still lovely. We're supposed to be getting colder weather in a few days so I'll just enjoy the few remaining ones. Winter is going to be really short this year.

I'm glad to see so many new people here. The more support we have the better. I would like to ask for prayer for youngest DS. He had to quit his job because his health wouldn't allow him to work there full time so now he's out looking for work again. He also has had now news from his specialist. This is really a long wait even for here. Please pray that we find out what's causing him to lose his voice and also that he finds work that he likes.

Thanks!

Quick Post - first of all..........sorry Gary about your guys losing. Needless to say, everyone here in my office are celebrating. I was somewhat indifferent.

Mel - Welcome, we look forward to hearing from you more. This is an awesome place to be.

Anyone - OK, I feel stupid........what do all the initials mean (DD, DH, etc.) Does it have something to do with family members?

Will be back later.

Talking

Hey crew!!
Woohoo Texas won..I mean...oops sorry Gary! Hey....this morning I DID see the "more" on my smilies, on the right of my post place when I went "advanced". I'm thinking I just don't have the patience to let it load.....guess I could clean the kitchen and cook some soup while it does, tho?
Yes.....I too will keep the families of those lost miners in prayer. It's so tragic....and there will be a lot of anger over the fact the danger was evident and not dealt with. These things are heart breakers and so sad.

Yep..Beth..the DD is dear (darling) daughter, DS son DH...hubby. Took me awhile when I started hanging out at another site, to get that too! LOL!
Prayers for Mike's wife going out. These things are always scary and yes, it's best to be checked. Too often one ignores symtoms to their detriment. (myself being one of 'em!).......oh no! truck repair .....yes it's good you had the money. Whew. We hate to spend it but it's a blessing to have it when we need it. I've been told my transmission is misbehavin' but I am trusting God as my mechanic, to keep her going until oh..forever? YAY! Another office worker with weights! I keep 3 and 5 pound ones and believe me...the 5# are WAY too heavy currently! I have a nice stash of goodies under my desk....which needs de-cluttering btw......and will be DONE by February 1st! I promise!

Hilary! Woohoo! Will you be my proxy exerciser? No? Well.....guess I'll have to do it myself! Good for you and Sis hitting the gym and for 2 hours! I used to go to the Family Life Center for about 3-4 years, for my walking upstairs. Never ventured into the gym with the "boys" but maybe twice, with my ex-step daughter/precious friend, when she'd come visit from Dallas. I gave it up 'cuz the rates went up but my pay check hasn't in 4 years, and I just couldn't squeeze my budget for it. I'd gotten sick too, and spent 7 months in relapse, very sick, no hearing in 2004.......that's my whine of the week..got cheese?

Wilma...Exercise and Bible reading are on my to do list too! That's why I am in Sunday School..for the dicipline of getting into God's word daily. It is SO worth it! He gave me Jeremiah 29:11 for my Christmas cards scripture and I claimed it as my scripture for 2006! With Him in charge we cannot fail!! Prayers for your youngest DS...for health and job situation. God is aware of every hear, every need and is on call!

Christina! WOW! You KNOW how quickly time slips away....you will be graduating in like 28 days! LOL! Prayers for Michelle going out too..for an easy delivery, speedy recovery and a blessed life for the newest addition to her family!

Diane..now i'm curious! About the movie......glad you enjoyed yourself and time with your son. AND....no butter on the popcorn! Wow! That's a victory! They will add up quickly and the results will show up!

Hey Mel! Another newbie! Welcome!! I am excited each day to be here, catch up with you all and just coming in ushers in blessings!

Marilyn...I think I know why I have had so much trouble on my "weekends"...it's because my work days are "structured"...I have my tasks lined up, my daily do list to be done, and for that period of time I am "on duty". then when I hit the door PM..my "wind down" time I am NOT on alert as it were and I can get into all sorts of trouble! BUT.....now that I have my gaurd up and in place, and will invite God to my table.....I am unafraid of what the day will bring. He is the Lord of my appetite(s) and Lord of my life and HE is stronger than any temptation. AND....I will start planning my off time, as I do my work time to allow for less "FREE" time! LOL! Good for you on your walking schedule! Woohoo! You're doing great!!
HOORAY I found my "lost" post! LOL!

Default Another day!!

And it is so mild out - can't believe that it is January with the weather we are having. Guess we should expect to have a cold snap and more snow before long though.

Doing well here. Have completed 1/2 mile at the Rec Plex with hubby and daughter - and when finished posting here I will be doing the walk away the pounds tape. Need to stay motivated with doing the walk every day. Don't want to skip a day as that could lead to not doing the walk again for some time. So onward I will go adding up all those miles and waiting to see the pounds go down.

Mel (figgykitty) - welcome - I am sure you will find all the people here very encouraging. Keep posting as often as you can

Hilary (pixiefalls) - have been to a ladies only gym - similar to Curves - but ran out of money so haven't been for awhile. Maybe sometime in the future hubby will put enough money away and get me even a 3 month membership. They do help - I know you have lost 30 pounds - are you at where you want to be our still working on it

Diane (dilyca) - hard isn't it when we lose weight such as you did and then gain it back especially when the gain is because of being sick. Happened to me with the cancer and radiation treatment - but over that (at least the treatment part not necessarly the after effects) so it is time to get back to being motivated and working on getting some of this weight off. I am sure you will do well - keep posting

Wilma - will be praying for your DS - the Lord is the Great Physician and He will do what is needed to help DS

Beth - looking forward to hearing again from you

Blondee - isn't it frustrating when we lose a post that took us awhile to complete - sounds like you have the weekend thing under control - that is half the problem of knowing when our overeating / bad eating occurs - then to make a plan of action to change it.

crk - congratulate your friend for me on the birth of the baby - like the name Olivia

For thos MIA - looking forward to hearing from all of you .

Need to go and do my 1 mile walk with my daughter now -

Thumbs up I'm Back

HI GALS

I'M OVER IT

I am back but sure not Happy Shudda won~cudda won...but didn't! great game and a long sweet ride for USC the last 3 years. Had 10 people over, most around 25 years old so it was loud but fun. My neighbor isn't a Texas fan...but he is a UCLA fan...or cross town arch rival...we killed them this year 62-19...he quit watching and worked in his front yard....so me...being ME... kept yelling out "TOUCHDOWN TROJANS!" everytime SC scored....he leaves for work at 4:30...I usually go out and get the morning papers around 5...this morning he put all 3 (yes I get 3 newspapers...for sports) on my porch opened up to the sports page!! RAT It is a good thing we are both Raider ~ Laker ~ Dodger fans...or it could get ugly

MARILYN~ Great job on keeping your word on walking! Nice that you are having good weather too. It is here today... supposed to hit 85 at the beach, which is really hot for this time of year...it is 80 here at my house and we are 5 miles inland so I bet it didn't quite get that hot at the coast today. How was your movie? Have you seen The Ringer yet? I was very offended at first when I saw the advertisement for it on TV...then I read that it had complete approval from Special Olympics...that they had worked together on it. I haven't seen it...still not sure about it.

BREN~ I am happy for your friends in their Texas victory yea right! Sorry about your problem with the smiles, we hav high speed internet service here so it isn't a problem...if we can't load something in less than 3 seconds we get

CHRISTINA~Hope you get a chance to slow down!

BETH~ Same thing (see Bren) for your friends And I thought the first D in DW meant damn...guess everyone here must think I love my wife ...she can't kill me if she reads this cause Saturday is her birthday and tomorrow is our anniversary, so I am safe...for now.

WILMA~ Enjoy the good weather too. I am praying for your son to have "answers" so he can proceed and plan his future.

DIANE~ How do you feed all those men in the house? I know how hard it is here sometimes with my daughter, son, step-daughter and nephew! Congrats on your upcoming #20...Angie and I have our 10th tomorrow.

MEL~

HILARY~ Keep up th gym work out!

Well off to get dinner going....

Oh my did that crack me up.

Hello everyone!

Brenda-- LOL I guess I could be.. buttttttt I think maybe you should do it. I'm actually loving to go to the gym now.. I guess with all the support! That sucks.. there are some expensive gyms here but we actually found a good one with not a bad price but also get a discount because I am a student. I'm glad you are doing better though! Haha now I want some cheese (favorite. food. ever.)

Gary -- I am. I'm leaving to go in less than an hour.

Marilyn, I meant to address you in my last post but I was in a rush to go help out my sister give my nephew a bath and then call my friend about going to the gym. Anyways! Yep they do help, but I lost the 30 pounds without exercise. Oh no no, 30 pounds was good but I'm still in the "obese" category. In my signature is my goal. I hope you get to start going to the gym soon!

Gonna try to address things that were addressed to me. Don't have much time as I need to get to work.
Blondie. The movie was incredible and no butter on the popcorn was a victory for me!!!!! YEA!!!!!!
Sprout.. Sorry to hear that you have had to battle cancer. And good for you for keeping, keeping on. Of course we know that God and prayer still have you here with us and I praise Him for that!!!
EZmoney. I don't know what your name is.. Well, I don't know very many names yet. I will need to work at that!!! How do I feed all those boys. Well, 2 of them have moved out and one of the others does not often eat at home. And, my husband is a professional Chef and I have been a profession cook in the past!LOL Not that I like to cook at home much but I do!!!!Lol.. I often tell people when they hear that there are 2 cooks in the house and think that our family must eat very well, I tell them that the boys are very good at warming up hotdogs and pizza!!!!LOL
Well, I hope I can get on and learn more of you wonderful folks soon. I really need to get going and off to work this morning!!! Have a great one. Diane
