Back again while I have just a few minutes to spare, will try to post a little and get caught up with everyone and what's happening here. .
1st: Easter. Beautiful as always. Our family celebrated on Saturday due to the large size of our family, (21), however only had 18 present. (My nephew Adam as you may recall, is currently serving with Kentucky National Guard in Baghdad.) Typical Easter fare, ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, gravy, mac & cheese, stuffed celery, desert was birthday cake for my mom (72 on the 29th) which was a total surprise to her. Adam's birthday also on the 29th, he's 23. Our family has a real neat tradition, since we haven't had 'little ones' for several years to hunt eggs, we have an Easter egg toss: line up in pairs across from one another, 'toss' the egg, step back, toss again, etc. etc., eventually eggs are dropped, broken, lost in the shrubs, until whomever has the last egg, with yoke intact is declared the winner. We usually do this several rounds as everyone really enjoys it. Mom & Dad used to have a Boxer who also enjoyed cleaning up the mess from the broken eggs. Not many Easter's go by that we don't remember her also.
Weather has been beautiful. 80's the past several days, I did have to get out and mow the lawn last night (a chore I don't like). But it always looks so good once it's accomplished. Besides the neighbors had done theirs and makes mine look even worse, so the pressure was on !!
Mitchypoo - So sorry we didn't get to meet up at MOA. We did have a nice trip, good weather, just the drive was really hard. My daughter has announced that she is willing to fly (a great fear of hers) if we decide to travel that far again. How are things going with Eric? You haven't updated us for a while, and also on the PT job interview with Yarn Cafe? Is something going to open up there for you?
Sprout - I have also enjoyed your devotionals. I must admit thus far I have two favorites on your postings: 'Beware of skinny people with fat mouths'. Unless you've tried to diet, you have no idea how much work it really is! And one I want to adopt "Lord make me ready to lose weight", saying it and doing it are two different things. We definitely have to be in an attitude, the right attitude to get it done!
mnewton - Where are you??? Maybe I've missed your postings. . .need an update on Channon, hope all is going well for her. I have also, this week, just renewed myself to walking again at lunch. I need to take the car around my 'route' to get the mileage but my usual trip takes me 21 blocks, hopefully this will help me jump start my weight loss again!
Sorry gals (&EZ) gotta run for now and go pick-up payroll (such a tough job) but I'm sure there will be plenty of people at my door, and mad, if I don't get it soon. Will try to post again in the morning. Have a great evening !! Margie
Margie, i'm sorry we missed eachother too. Next time! Sounds like you had a good trip, and you did have good weather. You never know about that here in MN. Today it is glorious outside.
I did end up taking my work with me, i had more stuff to take than i thought. I had 3 scarfs or is that scarves , a shall, a poncho, a beanie, washcloths and my afghan which she LOVED!! They were very complimentary and wanted to know all about it. Boy, it was the greatest, easiest interview i ever had. I explained about how the afghan was a family pattern that my grandmother taught me and i'm going to have it copyrighted or patented hopefully. They loved it, the owner came and saw it too, we talked a bit. Her name is Michelle, with 2 L's. I had met her before. The interview gal Terry came back and it was cute, she said, well, michelle loves you and i love your work and i'd love to offer you a position. I didn't hesitate, i accepted and i start tomorrow. I'll work on the yarn side, helping people with yarn questions, patterns, etc. But i'll also learn the cafe side to help out, which is fine with me. I'll finally learn how to make all the specialty coffee's which i'm excited about. So i'm going tomorrow after work, then on Sat. after work and then Sun. 11-5, then next MWF after work and the following weekend. So i'm goin to try it out and see if it's a good move, it feels right. And i'm in yarn mecca! I get a 25% discount on supplies (although i've already told myself i can't indulge, i need extra money, not to support my yarn habit). So, we'll see how it goes.
WI tonight after work and crisis phones tonight. This new schedule will not interfere with support group or crisis phones, those will be my only 2 days off really.
Eric and i are continuing on a good path. He calls me daily, we chat a little online. I really like him. He may cook for me this weekend.
It's good to be back and posting. I have really missed you all!! I'm doing pretty well these days except my patient load has dropped lately and things are tight. But God is Good and I know something will come open for me if I'm patient. Please say a prayer for me.
Michele~ Thanks for emailing me. Congrats on the job, it sounds interesting! Sounds like a fun atmosphere too. Just don't over do it.
Gary~ Yes, Gary, it's really me. Fat, old sassy me. I'm been lurking some but just not posting. And then I saw Michele over at LA and she invited me back over. I love posting with ya'll it just got to be too much before. I'm going to try to post but not anything fancy, don't have that kind of time. Well, I'm not head coach this year but asst coach for Kaci's softball team. Wow, it's a lot of work. But these kids are worth it. Sorry to hear about Dennis, prayers going up.
Sunny~ Thanks for the welcome back. I've just been working, and going to LA (LA weight loss), coaching softball, doing typing on the side for one of my patients thats NINETY TWO and still has a business out of her home but is legally blind and can't type anymore. Always doing activities with the kiddos.
Hello to Sami, Mkay, Margie, Sue, Wilma, MNewton, Sprout, and everyone else!!!
Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT Friday and a GREAT weekend!!!!!
Glad to be back on-line and posting with you guys this am. Did watch a little of the funeral service for the Pope, ( ) - what an amazing site, all those pilgrims and a man who was loved so much by so many. . .
doitforme - Enjoyed your ABC's, thought about doing my own version but I would just be listing some of the same attributes of many others here. Any updates as yet on your pastor? We will continue our prayers for him.
I hope your DD makes it to Phantom of the Opera, especially in the theater, I would love to do that myself. Unfortunately we haven't even had the movie version here yet! I love Andrew Lloyd Weber and would really enjoy this show!
I did check up on our youth group, which at one point with our previous Pastor would range from 23-25, sad to say that under our new leadership it has dwindled to 5 regulars and a couple of those being kids of the leaders. The upside, hopefully, is we have a county-wide youth rally set at our church this weekend, youth praise teams, youth pastors, etc. Maybe this will help encourage our youth and get better participation.
SunnyD - How's your weather now? We have been holding pretty steady in the 70's, as I mentioned it was 80's earlier in the week but have cooled off slightly. A little rain overnight and back to nice sunny days for the weekend. Glad to hear hubby has the new truck at work and reliable transportation, just wish now we could afford the gas prices! I also enjoyed your pictures of the deer in the yard and the snow scenes. It seems we can enjoy the snow a whole lot more when we can stay in! Hope you're doing well, ankle on the mend and such, - you just haven't been posting as much as usual. . .
EZ - Have so enjoyed your pics of your DD and her tennis. Mine also is a tennis enthusiast and with her help, I am reviving and coaching the high school tennis team. It's one of those great sports that you can continue with throughout your life and ours being a small school, it's pretty individualistic that you don't need a set number of persons to compose a team. We lost our football team several years ago as we just didn't have enough boys to support it, so I think this is another great option for the kids. Last I heard we are the smallest high school in the state, (- I guess everybody has to have some claim-to-fame), but the good part of that is - you know EVERYONE at your school. Her whole school, (7-12) is smaller than my graduating class!
Are you planning a trip to Tennessee while your daughter's there? It's a great area if you've never visited, lots of history, lots of music roots and just great countryside, mountains, streams, lakes, etc. It's very nice. I'm only about 4 hours and my family has visited often on vacations and family reunion-type things.
MrsSmiley - hello, glad to see you come back/meet you/whatever, just glad you're here with us. Congrats on the 7.4#. I, like so many others of late, have been steady without the weight loss but hopefully with the longer evening hours and better weather can get my exercise program in gear!
Hey to WILMA and MKAY, been a while since we've heard anything from you guys, hopefully the new job and 'spontaneous' shopping haven't kept you out of action too long. . . I like the sound of that 'spontaneous shopping', maybe it's contagious????
All for now, - maybe I check back in a little later. I need to get a budget ready, probably a job I won't finish until Monday, but gotta get going. Hugs and prayers. . . have a great day - Margie
Just hanging around the house this morning...gonna do bills later. My son and I are going down to my daughter's match this afternoon. It was supposed to be "SENIOR DAY"...the last HOME match of the year~career for my DD. My wife, ex and I ordered really nice Lei's for the senior's..3 of them including my kiddo...then my daughter calls last night and said it isn't senior day after all because the coach told them at practice yesterday that the AIR FORCE ACADEMY was coming in a few weeks for a match...aahhhh! Well I guess we will have 2 senior days!! Can't un-order the Lei's because the were made special...no big deal!! Just another match to enjoy later...the girls have several matches left, an invitational, 2 away matches (although my daughter may not play those since they are against weak teams--gives other's a chance to play) and of course regionals in Los Angeles and nationals in Alabama.
MARGIE Great work on the tennis! It is a great sport... although I have never played! ...I really enjoy watching my daughter and team play. I figured out a long time ago that if I didn't know anything about the sport it would be better for my relationship with my DD...this way I can just give her "father" support...with my son I can give critical advice on his basketball/baseball/track/cross-country/jumps/soccer plays...he expects and accepts it, with my DD, well let's just say when she is emotional after a tough match she doesn't need me in her face!...plus...all those tears!
I don't have any plans to go to Nashville with her...she will be in good "hands" with her boyfriend.
SHERRY So glad to see you still with softball. My step-daughter's high school team is ranked in the top 3 for San Diego county...they were no hit and shut-out yesterday 2-0...she was the only one on her team to reach base...an error on her bunt. So glad to see your family working together on the weight loss program! Just post when you can...we love to hear from you...and as you can see NOTHING FANCY about my posts!! Maybe because it takes me so long to TYPE with this finger
MICHELE Super news on the yarn/cafe...to be honest I thought that that type of talent was pretty much a forgotten art. Our yearly church bazaar where the ladies showcase their "sewing and yarning (?)" has really dropped off in attendence over the years...22 years ago it was a big thing...now..sadly...hardly anyone under 60 attends...and as you can guess the numbers are dropping fast. Maybe it just isn't a California thing..dunno. have a good week-end.
Well, I am heading to the "bills"...sending pictures of my son with the mutts from this morning and one of Angie's new rose for those that spring's haven't sprung
Gary, knitting and crocheting is becoming very popular again, thanks to Martha and her poncho and it's kind of a trendy cool thing now. May not be so big in CA because it has a tendency to be warmer, but cotton knitting is big too. If you guys want to see how cool this place is, go see www.yarn-cafe.com It's a place for guys too, they're going to have an internet hook-up and there's a big fireplace, and you can have beer/wine and coffee and food. I'll be working the yarn side primarily and will backup the cafe eventually. I'm excited about it. Love your pics btw. Son's a cutie. Beautiful rose Angie.

Everyone!
Hi Gary, YOU ADDED THE PICS ALL BY YOURSELF!You did good! Your pictures are a good size... no worries there. It's just using a different way to post them and they look small because the pics at the bottom of your post are called 'thumbnails' and when you click on the picture it takes you to the larger size So they are fine I love the pics of you with your HUGE pups playing in the garden bed you just worked on. That planter is about the size we want to put in on the side of our home this year, for veggies Where we use to have our garden is all grown in now and the tree's are shading the area way too much for veggies. I cannot wait to help Joe put in the veggie bed... I am so looking forward to getting out into the sunshine again.
I don't blame you... I'm glad to hear that Amanda is going with her boyfriend also, safe then sorry... I always say
As for the IBS that Amanda suffers... tell her that the worse thing she could ever do is go without eating! On this program I am on I am to to eat what he calls mini-meals (6x a day) every 31/2 to 4 hours apart... she really needs to eat... and to bring fiber tablets with her, so when she cannot eat she can take a tablet or two with her water and it will help prevent her from a full blown attack. My heart goes out to her. So she'll have Nationals in Alabama... that's where Angel is...
So you are just hanging around the house today, huh... have you done your bills yet? I was suppose to pay mine yesterday but never got around to it and said I would today... ... ... still haven't But I have to So as soon as I finish posting that's what I WILL be doing... paying our bill's. I have never been late in almost 30 years of marriage and don't want to start now.
Oh... by the way Gary... knitting is making a huge come-back here!! There's even a show on DIY called *Knitty Gritty* teaching knitting and you should see all the young people on it So it's gotten very popular again. So has crocheting believe it or not...
Your prayers for SUNSHINE are working! Thanx!!
Speaking of weather... Hi Margie B Yes... we are having a beautiful day today! It's around 50* - not as warm as the day before yesterday - but I'll take it with the sunshine We don't have the warm temps you do, being we are so close to Lake Erie. We did have a cloudy, rainy day yesterday, but by evening it was beginning to clear up and look real nice. Have you see the reports? We are suppose to have a whole week of sunshine ahead of us Yeah!!!
Oh... Joe doesn't pay for his gas His company does --- and boy am I thrilled about that! And because I don't work, we fill the jeep (our personal vehicle) up with gas only 2 maybe 3 times a month. Either way... YES! The price of gas is terrible!!
YUP... the ankle is healing great! I haven't used the air-brace in a couple days now (just the wrap) and have been walking on the T-Mill again. In fact what I have been doing is working both the Elliptical and the T-Mill each day getting in about 2 - 3 miles in the mornings Yeah! I am so glad that the ankle wasn't as bad as my last sprain.
Oh... I come by when I am able to... I was here just yesterday It's very difficult sometimes to sit when I have allot to get done in a day. It's takes me a good couple hours when I post because I belong to 4 threads I remember when I first joined 3fc's almost two years ago (this August), I would only post here @ CER's... but then I began to venture out. So now when I sit at the computer I am here for at least 2 - 3 hours. And so if I don't get here by afternoon it's tough, cuz I try not to be on the computer when Joe is home nights or weekends I want to be with him when he's home. Sometimes when he has meetings or things to do outside I will sneak in here (my humble little office) So there you have it... and I am sure I said more then you cared to know
I really enjoyed hearing about your Easter Sunday... made me want to celebrate all over again Sounds like you had a blast with your family
Awesome Michele!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you --- getting that job! I hope it works out for you, cuz it sounds like it really suits you I cannot wait for you to come back and fill us in on your first day there.
Hi Sherry, I always held out hopes you would come back I even saved the color Teal for you I do know what you mean about feeling like you cannot catch up... sometimes I will only miss a day or two of posting and feel like I have so much to catch up with it can be overwhelming... but I just do my best. You do the same... don't leave again, okay I will post enough of the graphics for us both Those & the pictures are what takes time to do!

Hey there Michele... when did you sneak in here I practically said the same thing you did to Gary about the knitting and never even saw your post till now (I was writing off line)... I agree... it is popular most in the states where the weather is cold. That's why you may not see it much in Ca., Gary... but as I said... it's making a big come back My SIL is teaching knitting here to family members (I missed the class, but know a little bit), you should see the scarves she has made... beautiful
I am gonna go check out the site you left now, Michele
Oh Gary... great pictures of the Rose!! I would love to grow roses like that, but the Deer love 'em too Handsome son you have... good gene-pool
Good Afternoon!! What a wonderful day we are having today. Nice and sunny, still kinda cold though.
MargieB - Channon is doing wonderfully well!! She is amazing the doctors. The tumor has shrunk even more since last month so my sister-in-law met with the surgeons and they are thinking about going in soon and taking the tumor out. They are going to do a MRI and take her stitches out on Monday. Once the MRI comes back then they will know exactly how soon they can go in. The baby has been a little cranky because she is teething. She is developing right on target and has no brain damage from the tumor pushing her brain over. Oh she is so beautiful and vibrant. I went over there and she was just cooing and her little facial expressions are so cute. She knows what she is talking about!! Thank you so much for the prayers, they are working!!! God is soooooo good!! Can I get an AMEN?!!!
Gary - What a beautiful rose! I love roses!! I could look at them all day!
Michelle - Congrats on your new job!! What a blessing. It is so good when you get a job that you can just fit right in. Cant wait to hear how much fun you have.
MrsSmiley - I havent met you before but looks like you are an old friend. Welcome back.
SunnyD - Nice weather!! I would love it if we could get up into the 70's that is perfect weather to me. Not too hot, not too cold. I am so happy to hear all is well with your ankle. You are doing great on your exercising! Keep up the good work! So you post on other threads too?!!! I thought we had you all to ourselves. Okay, well I wont be selfish. I guess you can bless others with your wonderful disposition and happy graphics!!
Just a quick check in before we head to the match.
DONNA I KNOW my son is handsome ...people say we look alike Actually people tell me I resemble Gerald Mcrainey (spelling?) and Ryan has been told a lot lately he looks like Nicolas Cage...oops! I think I mentioned that before...Man! this oldtimers is really kicking in ...I put the new flower bed in the side yard where I keep my drywall materials...it used to have grass there..in front of the new bed...but I just threw all the dirt from the old beds I took apart on top of it to get it out of the way...another summer project...new grass...aahhh. Oh well, something for my (X-TRA LARGE) puppies to dig up. Good job on the bills! not being late!! The loan officer for our new home said that is was so nice to see outstanding credit..said we were at the tops...wish I could say I always was but being in construction...divorce...and lost year for knee surgery..I have been late a few times...but ALWAYS!! paid up in time...The Lord does bless. As far as the deer eating the roses...well, there was remains of a beautiful white rose on the grass this morning...from...????...you guessed it!...The GOLDEN RETREIVER GANG OF REBA AND RYLEE
Glad to hear that some of the traditions are coming back....miss them....maybe that is why I like AMERICAN DREAMS so much...the ''old days"!
Oh well, back to rockin' and talking about the weather...over...and over...and over....
Off to the match...will send pictures soon...can't you all just wait!

CER's!
Another Bright and Beautiful SUNNY Day here in NE, Ohio And I am just taking it all in I have some office work to do this morning and then I will head out to do some winter cleaning in our gardens. Then at around 5:00 we are meeting our friends for our monthly dinner out together at the *Red Robin* We eat out early - especially on the weekends - otherwise it's gets way too busy (at around 6/6:30) and we are then put on 'an hour or so' waiting list. After dinner we go shopping at BJ's or Costco to walk it off... it's fun! When the weather gets warmer we'll go to the parks to walk off dinner
Joe is at a work related meeting right now... NY is where they are headquartered & they are closing 3 more grocery stores this month here in Ohio because of cost - they have already closed 6 of them in Jan-05 & they are closing their fresh baked bakery getting rid of the bakers and bringing in already baked foods and the butchers are going too, to bring in prepackaged meats for all stores here ALLOT going on... I believe there were 86 stores all together. I just hope that Joe will keep his job till he can retire in a couple years! So far... all is okay. Please keep all those loosing their jobs in your prayers, it's so sad. And maybe say a little prayer that Joe will keep his job in maintaince till he retires. Thank-you so much! So many have a difficult time keeping a job today
*~*~*
Hi MNewton, good to see you stop by Yes... I do post in other threads and I don't know that they are as thrilled with my graphic's as you all are Thank you for the compliments, so very kind of you
Guess I will have to begin waving my arms again to send some sunshine and warmer temps your way... maybe I will finally get some good muscle tone sending the sunshine all the way to WA NY was so much closer to send it to Sue Today we are suppose to get to around 65* --- it's cooler then in the beginning of the week, but it's normal for this time of year. Everything is greening up so fast --- awesome!
Speaking of Sue... where have you been???!!! Has that sunshine taken you away from us? I'll take it back
Hi Gary... that's okay --- keep the pictures coming! I really enjoy them!! Great shots of Amanda with everyone. You sure do have a nice looking family there big guy. Haven't seen any pics of Angie though... does she go to the Tennis Matches? How did Amanda do last night? She's smiling... is that a good sign
My first night at the Yarn Cafe was fantastic!! They were all really nice people, there was another lady who just started too and we worked well together. We kind of just jumped in there, we learned how to use the register which is all computerized, so no biggee, i was able to help many of the people with questions, or converting meters to yards, or figuring out a pattern, one lady thanked me in particular find a specific yarn for a project, IT WAS FUN!!!! I was able to answer questions about knitting socks and felting because i've done it. But boy oh boy, the temptation to buy yarn....it's gonna be a bad one. I do need yarn for a wedding purse i'm making for my cousins wedding, so i'll indulge there when i find the pattern.
And then i was wanting to talk to Eric but didn't want to call late cuz i got home about 9:40 and GUESS WHO CALLED... oh, i was so happy. And we're probably going to go to church tomorrow a.m. at 9:00 am by my house and then i have to leave for work right after, but it may be the only way to see him this week. He wanted to go to church which is cool, just not sure if he'll have a golf lesson. And he's been fighting a cold/allergies, so we'll see.
I did well with my eating too yesterday. Oh, there's a Culver's across the way from the Yarn Cafe which could be a problem (it's like In-n-Out Gary , but i am planning ahead and i'll do ok with that too.
Sunny~I hope your DH will not be affected by job changes, that can be so stressful.
MNewton~So happy to hear that Channon is continuing to do well. PTL!
Gary~You are just trying to make me miss CA huh!!!! Oh, those beautiful pics with the ocean and palm trees in the background.....I want my momma!!! Your kids are really adorable though. Proud Papa.
Sherry~Woohoo on you and your families loss! And SO HAPPY you've graced us again. It's your words, your thoughts that we care about, not if you make it pretty. Besides, Sunny does so well with that.
You know Sunny, i hope you don't feel pressured to do that either. I love it, but i wouldn't care if you didn't go to the trouble. Again, it's what you say and who you are that's important to me.
Mkay~feeling any better sweets? Is DH doing better? What's on the Me List this weekend?
