Wilma!~Congratulations!!! I knew you'd get it! And you've already earned it sweets, you just be yourself and you'll do a great job!
Sunny~you have the greatest graphics! And good for you, you don't give up w/that treadmill. And yes, I DID walk yesterday!! I went home, put on shoes, and then i took Simba with me and we went across the street and through the field and down to the lake by my house. Simba is really good, even off leash. She stays with me and listens. I don't know how i got such a good dog. It was a short walk but it got my heart pumping and i broke out in a sweat. My back twitched just a couple times, but i felt good when i got home. I wanted to get up and walk this a.m. but chickened out, not quite there yet. Yep, Sunny, Eric is a gentleman, originally from Louisiana, he's quite the character, he teaches cajun cooking classes for community education, he also is a golf pro and does private and group lessons and he has a manager position fulltime. He's very busy, so we'll see. Maybe he won't have time to date. I think i'd like him to teach me how to golf, we've talked about if it'd hurt my back, he thinks i'd be ok. I think it'd be great exercise.
I went to WI last night and was the same as Sat. but that's ok, TOM is still here, so i have some bloating to get rid of. Tomorrow i expect results and i hope to be losing all my bday weight this week and be able to change my ticker.
Oh mkay, that is so funny about the shoes. I think we've all done that, huh? Or else i know that i have. I once was away for the weekend when i was married and we were going to a nice restaurant and i dressed up and i ended up with 2 black shoes, one open toe...one NOT!!! How embarrassing is that? And i didn't have anything else so i had to wear that, thank goodness the restaurant was in the hotel or i would not have gone. So there's one of my embarrassing moments for ya!
Well done Wilma on the new job!! I do hope all goes well for you!!
Easter was very quiet here. I did go to my usual church and really wished I had not bothered as our new pastor seems to like whipping us all up in to a worship frenzy..you know what I mean I am sure! We had to say some responses and when the congregation was not enthusiastic enough he (AND his wife did it in the service as well!) would say loudly "SHALL WE TRY THAT AGAIN?" and do this a few times until he was satisfied we were making enough noise. I am sorry to say I absolutely hated it. We were more fitting to be at a football match...at one point he said "I WISH you were more Charismatic!!!".We are in fact an Ecumenical church! I am afraid I got a big fat NOTHING out of the service which lasted all of 55 minutes. His wife, who is a minister in her own right, did the sermon but there, to me at least was nothing deep and meaninful in it. Perhaps it is just me, in my frame of mind. Sorry if it is. Except that I know I am not the only person to be very dissatisfied with the new minister and his ministrations.
Well it sounds everyone had a wonderful Easter! All of that wonderful food had my mouth watering! My family and I take family pictures every Sat. before Easter Sunday. It really turns out nice because we all wear the same colors and get all dressed up for Easter. So we did that on Sat. Then on Easter we went to church at 9:30am and then went home to change our clothes. Off to my mothers house we go to have Easter brunch. We had pancakes, smothered potatoes, turkey quiche, shrimp quiche, ham steaks, mixed fruit and I made a strawberry mousse pie for dessert! It was yummy!! Then my mom gave my kids their Easter baskets. My daughters had candy and jewelry and my son's had candy and a puzzle. So we decided to all put the puzzle together. Then the kids went outside to play, my husband watched the game (and fell asleep) and my mother and I played a friendly game of checkers! It was alot of fun because it had been such a long time since I had time to sit down and just play a game. Well after all of the activities I took a 3 hour nap. Then it was off to my mother-in-law's house for Easter dinner. All of my husbands brothers and their families where there and my mother in law fixed ham, turkey, sweet potatoes, rolls, salad and strawberry cheesecake for dessert!! Oh my goodness!! I ate so much, but I enjoyed every bit. So of course now it is back on target for the weight loss. I havent been able to walk with my friend lately because it has been really rainiy and windy here. Only about 50 degrees out so it is really cold!
Wilma - I am so happy to hear about your new job! Congrats!! You will do well dont worry.
Well I have to sign off for now, gotta get back to work!

You are very welcome, Wilma!
MKay, I am up early every weekday morning! I am up with Joe at around 5:30/6:00 and it just happened that I had a moment to write this morning
I had to go back and reread your post - somehow I missed what you said about the mismatched shoes... glad to hear that you packed the correct shoes for your walk today.
Sue, Yes all is *well* with me and I am thrilled that I came across this book! I haven't lost any more weight, but my goal is to stay well right now; maybe after a bit of time my body will adjust and I will begin to lose weight again. Right now... I am thanking the Lord for another *well* day
I KNOW! Where does the time go!? Daylight Savings this weekend already... I love going out for a stroll after dinner with Joe this time of year, when there's more sunlight in the day. You should be getting some sunshine soon! We finally have it and it's coming your way
Michele, I did get in my walk! I got in 1.50 miles this morning on the T-Mill... I'm glad to hear that you got in a walk too, especially since you had such a nice day yesterday! I bet Simba loved going out!! Don't worry about your WI... I bet it moves down the next time you go in for WI. It's especially hard when it's that TOM... you are doing great!
We have a pretty day today... finally. The sun didn't come out till early afternoon but now we have temps in the 50's - 54* to be exact. And they are calling for temps to be in the high 60's tomorrow I actually have three windows open in my house right now and my cats are loving it - noses held high in the air sniffing in the Spring scents. You can tell it's Spring with their behavior too The are meowing and pacing like crazy!
So Eric cooks Cajun... do you like Cajun cooking? That's cool that he teaches Cajun cooking - he's gotta keep the tradition going --- like Emeril Lagasse
Hi Teel, I got your PM... did you get mine?? I wasn't sure it went through cuz I kept getting an error when I would click send - maybe it had something to do with them changing servers I do hope you are okay!! I was worried about you! Good to hear from you.
I am so sorry to hear that church on Easter wasn't what you hoped it would be... have you thought of checking out another place? You just sound so upset in your last post... I am praying for you
Gary... where are YOU these days!?!
*~*~*
Well, I really must be going...
Joe will be home soon and I have to get dinner made,
I still don't know for sure what I am making

Hi MNewton,
I didn't see your post, till just now... I was typing my post to everyone.
Talk about mouth-watering!!! I am hungry right now and after reading your post, I am DROOLING! So... next Easter... what do you say we all stop by your mom's & mother-n-law's
Do you know how to post pictures? I sure would love to see that family Easter photo you had done. What a great tradition. And reading about you and your mom playing checkers made me miss my mom --- she & I play Scrabble games when we get together. She lives in Maine. I miss her so much, especially during the holiday's. You sound like you had such a grand day!!
50* COLD??? I have all my windows open and it's 54* out. I couldn't wait for a break from the 30 and 40* temps Then again, it would feel cold with rain and wind involved
I agree Sunny, MNewton made me super hungry! And yes, I love cajun cooking. He's bringing back 150-200# of crawdads and some andouie sausage and other treats from home and he said he was going to cook for me. He's suppose to have a crab boil at work and wants me to come and he also makes those beignets (not sure of spelling). It all sounds wonderful to me, except they fry a lot of things, so i'll have to be careful. And i'm just gonna let him cook for me, sounds so good.
We are all doing well here. Weather is really like spring ! !
Unfortunately I have been having bad bouts of acid reflex - 2 nights ago I spend from 2 am till 5 am sitting up after having the worst attack ever. Actually thought I was dying as I just couldn't get my breath or swallow. But doing much better today.
Today Koko - now 3 1/ 2months old and 4.9 pounds - went for his first grooming. The lady told us that he didn't like the water at all (which we told her he wouldn't) she said he showed her his teeth but as she has a little dog and is a groomer she nows how to handle these little guys. She said after she disciplined him he settled down quite nice and behaved quite nice on the table for his brushing and nail clipping. Notice in the picture he is wearing a red bandana - we think he is so cute!!

Yes it does sound good Michele...
I'd let him cook all he wants... it all sounds delish! When does he come back? Does Eric have a strong accent? I remember that Cajun chef that use to be on public TV (he died years ago)... do you know who I am talking about? He wore suspenders and was so darn cute to watch... and listen to.

Hi Sprout!
It's so good to hear from you I love that picture of Koko... he is so cute & just so white and clean. Adorable little puppy!! No picture of you with your new do
I am sorry to hear that you had a bad bout of acid reflex... sometimes rich foods will make it worse - like Easter dinner & treats I hope you continue to feel better.
Thanks for sharing the picture & stopping by

My hubby just got home with his new work-van from the company he works for (FINALLY!) --- his old van has been to the shop every week lately for one thing or another and is so unsafe. And this 2005-van is loaded with everything, he's so excited ~ like a little boy with a new toy. He's gonna want me to go out and see, he's sure one happy camper
Sunny ~Eric gets back in on Thursday i think. He's going to be moving when he gets home so i'll be curious to see when he calls and when he'd like to see me again. And yes, he does have the accent, but not real thick, sometimes he says things and i have no idea what he's talking about. I do remember that Cajun cook you are talking about. Mom and I use to get a kick out of him. I didn't know he had died.
Not much time tonight, just got home from daughter's tennis match. She won doubles easy and a tough win in singles against a team from New Mexico. She was pretty tired, last night the tennis team worked the concert security for $$$$...they do this a few times a year for different events...last night's event----TA-DA...U2 and BONO!!! How cool woukld that have been to see them for free...and get PAID for it!! She said it was great.
Easter morning my daughter, nephew, neices and brother, sister in lawand ex went to Son rise service, then my son, step-d, Angie and myself met them there for breakfast, the rest of us then went to 8 am service, then Angie back to 10:30 for another round of bells. We almost always go to 6am but this year with Angie having to play bells at the later services we passed. It was such a beautiful morning...wished we would have gone.
I made ham, scalloped potatoes, corn and ham for dinner. We get great spiral cut hams at Costco here and so easy. How 'bout you gals? do you get the Kirkland brand at your Costco's?
Well tongiht it is leftover tortilla soup (Angie's) and ham (mine) for supper...gotta go warm it up...Angie is at a GIRL'S NIGHT OUT with teacher friends at BUCCA DI PEPPOS .....boys are hungry...
Will post tomorrow with some pictures of today's tennis match I hope...
Michele...I'd let someone cook for me every night...except I don't do cajun. I'm sure he could figure something out for me.
Sunny...New van? Wow! Nice.
No windows open at home but it has been in the upper 60s. Tomorrow 50s and Friday and Saturday 40s. Gosh...what happened? That's ok, that means Saturday I can get some things done inside.
I was asleep by 9:30 last night. Headache from below is why I went so early. I normally don't get them but I have a zit forming in the bridge of my nose between the eyes and it actually gave me a headache yesterday.
No walking at lunch today. A gal from the Shepherd's is moving into a house as a roommate so I'm going to bring her a little something as a goodbye gift.
Last night's dinner was good. I heated up some olive oil and put in garlic and onion and mushrooms along with fresh green beans and then put in leftover raw veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots) and then put in my cubed venison along with some teriayaki sauce and some sprinkle seasonings. Yummy.
Tonight is bible study (Battlefield of the Mind) which I really need but I am so tired still and overwhelmed with stuff I need to do at home. I usually want to fall asleep in class by 7:30. Maybe I will just stay home and get some things done and read a chapter in the book.
Mitchy- What a cute story about the shoes, I have done similar another one is pack a dress without a slip. Eric sounds like He will be alot of fun to get to know. Golf is suppose to be great exercise, as long as ya walk and don't ride.
Teel- So sorry to here you had a bad experience on Easter. You said this was a new minister, are you a member at that church and is there any place where concerns can be taken Ex. deacons ect. If not I would start hunting for a new location as sunny said.
M-newton- Wow sounds like you had an awesome day, meals sound yummy.playing a simple game not only allows us to relax but talk with the person, which is so important.
Sunny- we'll take all the sun you can send, E.Z. sends us a care package occassionally. It is so much more important that you feel good, then worry about the weight that'll come, especially with allthe miles on your t-mill. The new van will ease your mind won't have to worry about him being broke down.
Sprout- cute pic. sorry to hear you had a bad time of it, and so glad to hear your feeling better- I agree with sunny- we'd like to see a pic of you as well
E.Z.- so glad your back, sounds like you had a great Easter, dinner sounds yummy- sunny has been filling in sending the sun, its beautiful out today.
M-kay- sorry about your day yesterday, it is amazing that something that is so small can hurt so much, I had one on the insid eof my ear, and it made my ear hurt like I had an infection. Dinner sounds yummy- love stir frys anyway.
Tonight is prayer meeting, and youth group more practicing for the missions trip. I got all of the outfits made, just got to hem to size. Made last one last night. Sun is shinning and its beautiful gotta run, have a great day. Hi to everyone mia.
Thank you so much for all your kind words. I am looking forward to the challenge. I work in a Credit Union (similar to a bank if there aren't any where you live!) and have been a teller. Now I am going to be supervisor of the tellers and also will be in charge of ordering cash, hiring, training, etc. It'll take a while to learn all the ropes but I'm not too old to learn!!
I don't have a lot of time to chat this a.m. I'll try to come on tonight!
Mkay~i couldn't help but laugh about you "zit" ...I hope it's better today and that nasty headache is gone.
Eric called me last night... He had dropped off his son and driving back to his parents house (about a 1-2 hr drive i think), he kept cutting in and out, but i was so happy that he was thinking of me. He's coming home sometime today, but he's then moving into a new apartment, so we'll see when i hear from him again.
We had support group last night and 2 ladies came, we talked about the term being called a victim and we also did an exercise called The ABC's of who you are... ever try it? Want to just for fun? I'll start...
