HICKORY ~ are you from the U.S.? We hope that you join us in our daily chat thread here too -- called "CHRISTIAN ENCOURAGER's -- AUGUST Thread ... have sent up prayers for your husband regarding finding a new job that he desires. Might I suggest that your DH call this man again and ask if interviews have been set up yet since he is very interested in that company and position. I used to call back after only 1 week, if I don't here back from them; and a few times, I got the job becuz I was the only one who did call back. Calling back shows them how much you want the job.

DEE ~ the same invite goes out to you too -- please join us on the daily Christian chat thread whenever you like ... thanks for your prayers for our BIL, Tom M ...

Praying for all requests.

Just wanted to shout from the rooftops that my prayers are being answered!
My friend's husband offered to work on my backyard for me! And he has experience with passing inspection and what not. And my friend started helping me haul stuff to our storage unit. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me and I am just soooo grateful! Thank you Jesus!

That is all. hehehe

This morning I walked the second half (where caretakers and family joined the cancer surviviors) of the first lap, which is for cancer survivors, at the 24 Hour Walk for Cancer Relay with my sister.

She will walk Sunday morning from mid-night to 2am and then Angie and I will take over for the 2 to 4am shift with our church....

Thank you for all your prayers!

Good for you, EZ. I participated in our local Relay for Life last weekend as a survivor with my DH.

It's a great cause.

YEAH for JOJ0 and ANNIE ~ we are so glad to hear you both are doing so well. Both my mother and father (and two uncles) survived cancer too! I think it has touched almost everyone's life in some way or another ...

Bootsie-

Yes, bears do run wild in AK. I've even seen a little black bear while walking my dog on the road near my house. I've seen Grizzly bears and black bears when hiking, and often find bear scat or paw prints in the woods. The parks are particularly populated because the bears are fully protected from hunters in the Parks. So you are right to be cautious. The most dangerous bear is a mama bear with cubs, as if she perceives a threat she will attack regardless of whether you actually intended to be a threat. Tell your grandaughter to make sure to make noise when hiking - if bears hear you coming, they move away. It's when you move quietly and surprise them that they might attack (usually). A can of bear spray can help, too, in the event of a confrontation. And hiking in groups is always safer, partly because groups make noise, but also because a bear is more cautious of attacking many people than just one.

Dee thanks I passed the message on to my daughter to tell her. My Granddaughter just loves animals, God has given her a special talent in conversing with animals, but conversing with a Hot Mama bear would be entirely different! Thanks hearing from someone that lives there she will be more cautious.

Rosebud I will ask my friend if she minds if I tell her secrets ,she just sent me an email filled with great tips, that I never thought of! Truly she just looked at what works for her, she told me what was the most difficult for her but she kept looking for solutions to improve each pot hole I call them , and continued to lose weight. She has a great determination to get done what she wants to get done, and I like that ! I have already lost 4 pounds, knock on wood I don't go back up now. I started to take L- Glutamine 500mg ( a supplement) today to rebuild my muscle cells in my neck and hip , that is what I took to get over that severe back-ake I had and it kinda makes me gain weight but right now I am more concerned about my neck and hip I hurt. Everyone wants me (and that makes me feel good that they care) to go to the doctor and spend 300 or 400 dollars ,(they are just worried about me) just for him to tell me I have hurt my neck and hip. My insurance will not pay on any of it, like I said before the insurance does not pay for the doctor and I have the first 10,000 dollar deductible, but they do pay on my medicine. If it is not better in the morning then I will make an appointment. I seem to be a little better everyday. This supplement is part of the medicine I will be taking is my understanding any way.

Bootsie-

I severely injured my back in January and what has been most helpful to me is stretching every day (hamstring stretching is particularly important, as tight hamstrings really affect the lower back) and doing some back strengthening yoga poses. My hips contribute to my lower back problems and I do four different stretches targeting my hips. If you aren't already doing that, you might consider that. It's made a big difference for me.

I have an appointment tomorrow with my doctor in Marble Falls for my hip and back,at 10:45. It is really hurting and my husband really needs me to work. Today he is sick and has no one to take over. I told him he was going to have to make it just a hardware store. That did not go over very good. Dee I heard of two plane wreaks in Alaska, called to make sure my Sunshine was not on them, and she was not , thank the dear Lord. Praying for those on there.
