Miles: 2.5 Total so far: 22 Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. It's a gorgeous day outside, great day for a walk. I may go walk around campus a bit later if I need a break from my work. Have a great afternoon! :sunny: |
Sorry I haven't been updating a little more regularly. Now its going to be hard to remember my milage....

I haven't been exercising as much as I was so I haven't been around in a few days. Instead of doing 4 miles walking I switched to 2 miles jogging. So it won't add up as fast as it was.

Day that miles were logged: 5/2
# of miles: 2 Hope everyone has a great day. I've been having a hard time motivating myself to get out of bed at 5, so I've been slacking, but this week my husband is on duty, and actually will be until August, so he has to have the car in case anyone calls, so Dee has to walk home from work. Can't have him pick me up, because the kids need to be in bed earlier, so instant exercise whether I feel like it or not, lol. Hopefully this will get me back in the groove. Dee |

Day: 5/2
Miles: .10 Total: .85 I am so frustrated! DH & I go to Walmart & buy a new scale for me. Get it home and set it up, it weighs me in at 275! Noooo! My mom's scale weighed me at 265 last month. There is no way I gained ten pounds, especially when I've been doing so good on what I eat and starting to walk. So I wait til the morning and it brings me at 270. So do I just start over with my scale at 270 or do I wait to weigh myself on my mom's scale that showed 265? This is very discouraging. I'm only weighing myself once a month so I could wait to get over to my mom's, but what a bummer to see a higher weight on my scale. |
3/5
6.7 miles today It was one of those walks to work and back that dragged and dragged, the day was pretty much the same, every time I looked at the clock, only 5 minutes had passed. I'm so glad to be home :) |
I had some computer trouble but I finally got back online. Here are my first miles for the challenge (thanks for letting me join your cross country trek!):
Date: 5/1 Miles walked: 1.14 Total miles: 1.14 Date: 5/2 Miles walked: 1.61 Total miles: 2.75 Date: 5/3 Miles walked:3.15 Total miles: 5.9 |

Steps/miles for that time: 1 for Tuesday & 3.5 for today Total number of steps/miles, to date in the challenge: 69 I somehow forgot to log my mileage yesterday, so I added it in today. Let's keep moving ladies! :) |
Date: 5/3
Miles: 4 Total so far: 26 |
Days that the steps or miles were logged: 5/3
Miles for that time: 2.33 miles Total number of steps/miles, to date in the challenge: 73.9 miles 3 days down, 28 to go. So far so good! :D I'm feeling very very motivated to stick with this. I've had so much energy! So it's 5:40am, I'm normally not up for another.. 3-4 hours. I've been awake since around 4 this morning. Waaaaay too excited to sleep. My boyfriend's flying in tomorrow :D I'm going to be baking him some of his favorite cookies today. They're a kind I've never made before, so I hope they turn out alright. Because I couldn't sleep, I decided to walk. I walked for about 27 minutes, have already done about 1 1/4 miles. I think I'll make 2 miles even if I don't do anymore fitness walking... which I plan to do. |
5/3
Miles: 4.3 TOTAL: 233.6 Only got in 1 fitness mile and I didn't quite hit 10000 steps. Hubby took me out to dinner after we dropped off the camper for a repair. We bought it just about a year ago and hubby came home a couple of weeks ago from a camping trip and 3 of the bolts that secure the metal piece to the box (the part that eventually connects to the hitch on my van) had sheered off!!! When we looked at them, they were rusty from the inside out. No way was that a result of something WE did and it could have made the camper come loose from the van if all the bolts had gone!!! Needless to say, we insisted that they repair it. Afterward, we decided on Mexican and since time was limited (we had to pick up the kids at church group), we tried a new place. It was YUMMY! I probably overdid it, but it was good. When all was said and done, I only went over my calorie plan by about 250 calories. Since I don't do that regularly, it's OK. Anyway.....today should be a busy one. I'm FINALLY getting my day off tomorrow (was supposed to have it last Friday) and I have a million things to do to get ready for a sub. That means a fair amount of running around. And if I get done by 4, a colleague and I are going for a walk outside (if the weather holds). Have a great day! Michele  |
Glad everyone is doing so well! Great job! Kristine, bummer about the scale!!
For me: Date: 5/3 Miles: 7.27 |
Good Morning!
Good morning everyone! Hope you are all having a great start to your Thursday.
Day that miles were logged: 5/3 # of miles: 2 I'll be getting an automatic two miles at least 3 times a week between now and August at the earliest, because my hubby has duty until the new guy shows up (because after this week he'll be the only one in his shop until then) and he has to have the car so he can do after hours service. Oh well, it's good for me I know, but walking home at 9:30 at night is a bit of a drag, after being on my feet all day, i have to take a Motrin before work is over so that my heels will not be hurting so bad by the time I start walking. but I know it is good for me, and I will probably get used to it soon. Have a good day, everyone! Dee |

4th May
6.2 miles - it was a lovely warm sunny day in the UK (1st this year) but the walk home was hard work. |
Hello, everyone. I just signed up for this challenge, and I logged 3.3 miles today (May 4).
I also asked this on the other thread, but in case someone doesn't see it, where are you (as a group) on I-90 right now? |
Welcome to the group. I have to say I can't remember where we are right now. I think we are somewhere in Soth Dakota.
|
Happy Thursday everyone!
I am getting so excited about the weekend! I have been working on my dissertation :write: and I am so tired of it :tired: that I'm just ready for a break. Of course, who am I kidding, my laptop is going home with me and I'll be working over the weekend too. Just at a more leisurely pace. Hooray for weekends! :beach: I got a substantial morning workout in, which is rare for me. So I will add the following to my stats: Date: 5/4 Miles: 4 Total so far: 30 Hooray! I feel like my contribution is relatively small compared to the impressive amounts of walking a lot of you have done, but every little bit helps, right? I'm very happy that I've just managed to go walking consistently even though I have a ton of school stuff going on. Have a wonderful afternoon and evening everyone! |
Welcome Margarita! LOL not sure where we are... Chris seems to be missing! I will total things up later tonight though and let everyone know where we are! Keep moving!!!
|
Ka ching!!! Yay team, you are doing great!!!! Our total is now:
1481.5 miles! Wow we are almost halfway. We have a little over a hundred miles to go to be in Chamberlain SD!!! :cheer" |
Wow, Misti. I didn't know that we had gone so far. I hope you all took time to stop and see The Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. I actually now remember that in my first marriage my hubby was a truck driver and we took I-90 out to Washington and took a little mini vacation with our 2 kids. Unfortunately, our youngest was only a few months old and can't remember all that much about it. So I was doing some research about Mitchell and some of the upcoming towns that we are going to go through. Here's the link you can all check them out.
Just make sure we stop at Wall Drug to enjoy a little sight seeing. It's a great little place to visit. Also, don't forget about Mount Rushmore. It's amazing to see. http://www.roadsidephotos.com/sd/index2.htm |
LOL Annie... I have been to Wall Drug. Quite a place. I saw the Corn Palace but only from the outside.
I didn't realize we had gone so far either. I have NO idea what happened to Chris... maybe we need to send out a cyberposse after her. :) I will try to keep up with the scores a bit better until we find her!!! I hope she is okay!!! |
I didn't get to see the inside of the Corn Palace either. :( They were closed when we went there. I find it ironic that when I was little my parents went to South Dakota with my brother and I was left behind because I was too little and then I went there with my children and my youngest was too little to remember. I think I am going to have a plan a family vacation for the future to SD so we can visit some of the attractions. I am kinda interested in seeing the Flintstone village.
Did you know that we are going to be close to Sturgis? Wow. I would love to see that place with all the motorcycles. What a comotion that would be. Could stop and get a tattoo along the way. |
Well I hate to admit it :) but I didn't WANT to see the Corn Palace... my brother and his family were not very happy with me because I stayed in the van while they went inside. I am just not into country LOL... grew up out in the sticks and saw all the corn I cared to unless it is on my dinner plate. :) They thought it was wonderful though.
Ummmmm I have NO idea what the special thing about Sturgis is... but sounds like a place we could have us some fun? Motorcycles = men... :) (I can say that; I'm single!!!) |
 I was born and raised in Iowa so I can relate to see corn alot. I guess I just wanted to be able to say yes I saw it. ;)
Sturgis, SD is where they have the annual motorcycle rally. It's huge. I have never been there, but I am sure it's a blast. Here's a link I found that has more info about the rally. http://www.sturgismotorcyclerally.com/ http://www.sturgisbikeweek.com/ |

5/4
Miles: 5.7 TOTAL: 239.3 Hello all you walkers! Had a good day yesterday and hope for an even better one today! It's my day off and I'm going shopping, which always means LOTS of steps. But first, I'm going to do my workout (after I drop off the kids). I'm going for something longer today, since I have the time and NO interruptions! Haven't decided which one yet: I have several different 3 mile workouts, plus a 4 mile and the 5 mile. Just don't know what I'm in the mood for yet. Hope everyone has a great Friday! Michele  |
((((Dee)))) Yah we missed you! Glad you are back!
Happy Friday to everyone! Hey I just read an article in a magazine yesterday that said that women who wear pedometers tend to walk a lot farther than those who don't as they become motivated and like to keep track of how far they have gone. Certainly works for me!!! |
Days that the steps or miles were logged: 5/4
Miles for that time: 3.49 miles Total number of steps/miles, to date in the challenge: 77.39 miles Soooooo tired. My boyfriend's flying in at around 7pm tonight, so I have a busy day ahead of me getting everything ready. I did lots of walking yesterday, as you can see, as well as 50 minutes of "regular" exercising... I'm pooped! I did tons of lunges and now my buns hurt so bad hahaha. Ah well, c'est la vie! |
To me, the real attraction in Mitchell was a wonderful doll museum across the street from the Corn Palace. If you're a doll collector or interested in antique dolls, it's not to be missed.
|
Okay guys...South Dakota is where I live now and let me tell you there are very many interesting places here! I really didn't realize Mount Rushmore was here until we moved here. Lame I know... You have mentioned most of them.. but you didn't miss anything inside the corn palace the cool part is outside. The doll museum is awesome. Chamberlain is really beautiful and the Missouri river runs right under the interstate. Very beautiful and very full right now. Another place to see in Murdo SD is the car museum...hubby's fave. Then of course Wall drug who wouldn't want to stop there! They have alot of stuff even a robotic Dinosaur! They advertise with billboards all over the united states...even as far away as NY and maybe even out of the country. Miles and Miles and Miles of nothing.. Then we will come up on the badlands...beautiful. Then the Black hills really really spectacular especially Spearfish Canyon.. beautiful. The 4 heads of course and Crazy Horse's new carved mountain (not finished yet but stunning so far)...but then...Sturgis Bike rally, well that speaks for itself.....just some useless information I thought that I would share:lol:....Blyn
