We have another newbie coming, yay! A huge :welcome3: to Kristine! So glad you are joining us!

Lydia, I have had some leg pain also -- I agree with the suggestion to prop them up on the wall. Also at night it helps to prop them up on pillows. But yes, be careful not to overdo.

Keep going, everyone! :cheer:

Blyn, someone said it earlier.. but I am going to repeat it.. you are the only one I've heard of that goes on vacation and comes back weighing less. [/QUOTE]

Well I am sure hoping to give you a second opportunity next month when I go on my cruise! :) I am determined that I will NOT blow it and will come back a pound or two thinner! LOL

I'm holding you to it, Misti! :D

I went to bed feeling a little blue last night. My husband asked what was up and I told him that I hadn't exercised in 2 days. He laughed and reminded me that I had exercised Sunday. It was Saturday I was "off" yet still did quite a lot of moving. Needless to say, I cheered up quickly and slept well. :p

He is sweet sometimes.

For as busy as I was, I sure didn't get many steps! I didn't even break 10000! I only had time for 20 minutes on the treadmill today. I was bogged down with multiple phone calls and a meeting last night from 6:30-8:30. Needless to say, I need to do some serious walking today to make up for it. I just don't like it when I don't get to 10000 steps! Did I say that?!?! WOW! What a nice change in mindset!

Hope everyone is having a great week! Tomorrow is going to be a bugger! It's parent/teacher conference night, which means a 12 hour day. And very few parents seem to care enough to come to conferences these days, so it's a BORING time most of the time. I'll be lucky if I talk with 10 parents and I have 45 students!

Oh, well........we can only do so much!

Have a nice day!

It felt great to walk last night! My husband walked with me and we talked and walked together and didn't have any interruptions like the tv or the kids.

We did have a tag a long, my kitty Annie. She runs like a rabbit and she got tired following us so I had to pick her up and carry her most of the walk so she would get lost. Does that count as weigh training while walking?(she weighs about 8lbs);)

I'm looking forward to walking tonight, it may not be that much right now, but I know I'll get more distance as I continue.

Well girls ...I was in Vegas for a car show and my hubby and our friends only let me eat about once a day ..and maybe margaritas don't count in Vegas...you know what they say..I was happy to leave a few pounds (not money there)

Misti: You can do it! Just use that ship to walk your buns off! Actually the buffets in Vegas were pretty good for me. I made a promise to myself to eat a nice salad and veggies before anything else and I pretty much stayed away from the desserts..just because I was full!...and remember the first bite is the best bite!

Kristine: that sounds so nice walking with the hubby...mine doesn't walk unless its a car show...:D

Michele: That is really very sad that so few parents turn up. I live in a small town and conference night was pretty much a get together ...that was a few years ago though...My son graduated in '03

I was bad today. I didn't get much walking in. I can't believe the change in the weather. It wasn't the warmest out, but did manage to get in a mile. We had to check out the optometrist to see what it would cost for the DH to get some contacts. He hasn't had them in about 2 years. He's wearing some really old glasses. Then we are going to concentrate on getting me some new glasses. But first he needs it more than me. His prescription is like 13 years old vs mine only being about 7. Anyways, hopefully will get a bit more walking in tomorrow.

I finally did it! A morning workout on the mill. Not a full hour on even half an hour but 20 min of good solid jogging. I plan to make this more and more of a habit.

I'll post my miles tonight. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa for me.

I don't know what's happened, but I'm slipping on my steps this week! I've only made my 10000+ steps on a school day once in the last 4 days. I guess I jinxed myself when I bragged that I had only NOT hit 10000 twice this month. Now it's 6 times : (

Today is not likely to be a good one either, with conferences. All we pretty much do is sit at our table and wait for parents to come for 4 HOURS! At least I'll get some work done!

Got up this morning and did a 1 mile WATP so my streak can continue--it's 116 days now!

Have a great day!

Kristine: Home depot is huge you could probably walk a couple of miles in there before you know it! All steps count!...

Michele: What is it that you are counting(116 days)? Is that days that you have exercised or ?? I want to be able to be jealous.... I haven't done anything for 116 days in a row except wake up!..:D

Blyn--I have been exercising for 116 days in a row! It started out as a promise to myself to do at least 10 minutes a day of some type of exercise. Many days I did more, but that was my minimum. After a few weeks, I moved it up to 15 minutes. Most of the time I do 30 or more, but I allow myself days with only 15, which is usually a mile. I rewarded myself when I hit 100 by buying a stability ball and the Leslie Sansone You Can Do Abs DVD. I'm already planing what my 200 day reward will be!

I NEVER thought I could become that consistent about fitness! I think the fact that I'm turning 40 this summer is adding to my motivation. Whatever it takes, right?!?!

Hope everyone is having a nice day! The students have left for the day and I have 2 hours to get ready for 4 hours of parent/teacher conferences! Maybe I'll have a chance to get in a walk in the halls of our building!

Oh, dang!! We skipped right through where I lived for almost 7 years--La Crosse!!!

But first, we went through Wisconsin Dells! Wisconsin Dells (or known by the locals as "The Dells," is known for its sandstone rock formations along the Wisconsin River. Although it only has a population of 2418, it boasts 18 indoor water parks! Can you imagine!!! It's quite the regional tourist destination.

We just traveled through La Crosse, WI! It's a beautiful city along the Mississippi River. La Crosse is where the La Crosse and Black Rivers flow into the mighty Mississippi River. There is a native American legend that there will not being any "big winds" (tornadoes) at the sight where three rivers meet, and there hasn't been a tornado in the area (or so I'm told). La Crosse is surrounded by towering, beautiful bluffs.

We just flew by Rochester, MN. If I remember correctly, Rochester is about 10 miles north of I90. Their pride and joy, is of-course, that it's the home of the famous Mayo Clinic.

We're now in Austin, MN. All I really know about Austin is that it's the home or Hormel. Among other things, Hormel makes Spam!! They're very proud of it, and you'll notice signs all over I90!

Lydia, I am glad to hear that your legs are feeling better.

Kristine, an 8 pound kitty? I’ll say that counts as weight training!

Blyn, thanks for the happy dance!

Well, today I was an absolute exercise freak ... I think it might have had something to do with the morning workout.

5 am jogged 1 mile on the mill
11 am jumped rope outside with 2nd and 3rd graders
3:30 yoga for an hour and a half... talk about YIKES.. it was hard yet great
7 pm or there abouts jogged another 1.3 miles on the mill...

I am feeling great!

My honey and I are going out of town for a few days so I won't be posting. And as I only count mill miles I won't have any to report.. I am bringing my jump rope so I'll still work out... just no miles.

Don't have the Seattle party without me.. with all the feet walking lately we'll be there in a blink.

Michele way to go on 116 days.

Conferences went OK. I only had 9 parents, but several of them were the ones I really needed to talk to since their child is struggling, but not coming in for help. I hit my 10000 steps, too.

This afternoon I'm meeting a colleague at the middle school to work out. I always do the elliptical, so I know I'll get my steps in today!

Happy Thursday!

I've been doing some thinking about my exercising habits as of late... I haven't been doing much other than walking. Walking's all fine and good, but I really do need to do more, you know? So I've decided on two fitness goals for May: min. 1 hour a week of strength training and min. 2 miles a day of walking. I've been getting my 6 hours of exercise a week in most of the time, though I'm not sure if I'm ready to up that yet. We shall see.

*boogies 'cause it's her birthday* I think today I shall go for a bike ride!

Wow! We are already through Wisconsin. My older boys have spent time there with their dad and loved "The Dells". I think they told me it is the largest water park in the country.

Had to walk all by myself last night. DH is still helping friend with drywall installation.

I'm only walking also. Weight training is a good idea. My son has a small free weight set that you can adjust the weight on. I can probably do some curls with just the bar.

Today I decided to see how far it was to my parents and other places around town that I walk to so I could get a better idea of how far I was walking. I did pretty good today. I'm not sure what I'll get in the next few days. It's suppose to rain for like 4 days. Bummer. Hopefully, I'll be able to get in atleast a mile. We'll see. Monday is going to be my youngest child's birthday. She's going to be 4. I can hardly believe it. She is my little May Day baby.
