Patty, I think the flooding is in east TN, but thanks for asking. It is raining here again today, don't think they (farmers) will be able to plant corn this month if it keeps up. Planting time is very vital and hectic when the weather is good and a rainy spring just adds additional stress to these poor guys. Can you tell I'm a farm gal.

I didn't exercise this morning but Hubby has an eye doctor appt this evening so I can get it in before he gets home. I must say my house sure suffers when I'm exercising. I used to do a lot of house work in the early mornings before work and now that I exercise the dust is getting thick. I've heard that it's good furniture protection tho.

The phone is ringing off the hook so I better get to work. Chat later.

Anyhoo, my @#$%&* back still hurts. It seems to only get just the teensiest bit better each day. Wish it would hurry up!!

Just wanted to pop in real quick and say HI to everyone.

Hi. Everyone must be having a busy Tuesday, no additional post since this AM.

Lauri, that is aggravating when you lose a post. Sometimes I type things out on my Word program then copy and post it later, especially if I'm just adding a little here and there throughout the day. This site really doesn't seem to be as bad as the other one that I post to.

Patty did you get a doctors appointment. We're all wishing you well.

Barb, a little sore is a good thing (stolen from Martha Steward) lets you know that you're doing some good.

Jen, try not to push the back and hopefully you'll get over it in another day.

Still raining, makes a dreary day, gotta run.

Hello girls. Well I went to WW tonight and I had put on half a pound. I actually thought that I would have put on more as I have not been journaling or drinking enough water since Friday. What is it about the weekend that I seem to get totally out of control?
Anyway I will try a bit harder this week.

Here is another little inspirational verse - hope none of you object to me putting these in now and again - if so let me know and I will stop.

If I had My Life to Live Over
by Erma Bombeck

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day
because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television - and more while watching life.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said,
"Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."
There would have been more "I love you's".. more "I'm sorry's"... but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it... live it...and never give it back.

Remember to seize every minute...
look at it and really see it... live it...
but most of all...never give it back!

Hi Patty,

Dont fool around...go see the Dr. I had to have my gallbladder out when I was just 19. If its something serious...you wouldnt want it to burst. I hope you are ok.

Ok then...another question about the exercise....do you stop being sore? I mean unless you step it up?

Has anyone ever heard of a muffin where you take one pkg of chocolate or spice cake mix and mix it with one can of pumpkin? Each muffin is less than two pts...any one hear of this?

Good morning Semo, Lauri, Patty, Jen. Barb and Stef

It is a bit wet here in Ireland today and I am feeling fat
Am I a silly :cow: or do I just feel fat like that one

So here's what I would like to try and do for just this one week to see if it makes any difference.
1. Write everything that I eat down in my journal.
2. Keep on track with my points.
3. Get some form of exercise every day.
4. Drink 2 litres of water every day.

Would anyone like to join me for one week?

Will call later.
Anne

Why hello!
Mooz, I for one, most certainly do NOT object to your posting this stuff. (and knowing these ladies, neither will anybody else)
I loved Erma Bombeck. We have a signed picture of her hanging in our office that one of the docs had gotten from an auction or something.

Patty, keep us posted on your doc visit ok? I missed you over the weekend though. Mooz kept me company LOL!

Barb, you do stop being sore after a while, depending on your fitness level when you started. ARe you maybe overdoing alittle?

Jen, hope your back gets better. Did you call the doc?

Semo, I *wish* it was 51 here LOL!! Yesterday it was in the 30's. But after spending 10 years in Minot North Dakota, I am happy as long as it's above zero!!!
Oh, and thanks for explaining cool whip. For the life of me I didn't know how to describe it.
On Sunday I ordered a Walk Away the Pounds video. Have any of you done these? It sound fun (cough, cough)
I should have it tomorrow or Friday.
Do any of you have long term goals for things you'd like to do when you lose weight? I am thinking of training for the 5k RAce for the Cure this Summer. My office usually participates, but I walk the 1 mile. I'll let you know if I come to my senses and decide not to do this LOL. It's in August though, do i'd better get cracking!!
have a great day! If I missed you this morning on my replies I apologize!!

Good Morning All and Happy Wednesday.

I received my Yoga Zone tapes and tried the instructional one last night. Anyone that thinks yoga is for wimps couldn't be more wrong in my humble opinion. My arms and even my butt cheeks are sore this morning. Yes fat women can do yoga!

Lauri, let us know how you like the Walk Away the Pounds, It looks as if it would be a good tape. How's the computer stuff going?

Mooz, If we weren't going out of town I would go with your challenge. I'm not on WW so I can't do that part but I will try and stay on progam for the week and exercise daily with the exception of the weekend.

Patty, how are you? Hope that you are feeling better.

Barbie, do you work the same shift or do you rotate? I would think that any night shift would be difficult.

Jen, hope that you are feeling better too.

Back later.

Good Afternoon Ladies
I went to the doctor yesterday, & he gave me a referral to see a GI specialist. I have had this problem for about 3 years now, but I try & control it by what I eat. I also take lots of Zantac(antacid), but now it's getting to the point when I eat oatmeal my side hurts & I get nausated. SO my next appointment is next wednesday. I'm ready for it to be taken out.

Lauri - I have the Leslie Sanson tapes. I like them, I think if your use to a vigorous exercise, it might not be enough, but I like to use them on days when I really don't feel like working out.

Semo - I agree on the yoga tapes. A few years ago, I took some classes at the health center & I thought to myself there is no way I could ever do that stretch. About 5 weeks later I was doing it. It really help me with the stretching exercises for my back.

Anne - I'm up for the challenge. I need to journal, when I don't that is when i get in trouble.

Jen - Hope your back is doing better.

The weather is wet & dreary here too... I'm ready for some sunshine... Hope everyone is having a great day.

1Day: I know how you feel. I landed myself in the ER in December. I haven't had health insurance in over 10 years so I don't go unless I'm relatively sure I'm dying, and I sure felt like I was. I've only been to a doctor 7 times in that 10 years... to give birth to my two children, twice for miscarriages, one major car accident, one work incident (which is how I hurt my back in the first place), and one dislocated shoulder while skiing. And then in December makes 8 I guess. Anyhoo, long story short, he said I had to see a GI specialist as well. I told him I had to wait until I had unsurance. He said I couldn't wait that long. Well, after i got my $1400 bill from the ER, there was NO WAY I could go to the GI specialist. Not that it mattered. He wouldn't even see me without a $2000 deposit. So basically, I'm just waiting until I have insurance, or rupture something and have to go back to ER. Whenever i get sick, I have to solicit leftover medications from friends and family medicine cabinets. How sad is that? BUT, I did get the forms in the mail from my DH for the Tricare military health coverage, and am going to get that going next week. Sorry for the life story here!!

SEMO: I've been curious to check out Yoga. I it kind of a mucle strengthening thing?? It looks like something interesting and new to do. Can you recommend a good tape for the beginner??

Hello to Bobbi, Anne, and Lauri!!

As for me I FINALLY was able to exercise today. I got 2 new Crunch body sculpting videos yesterday and did one today. It was awsome!! I did most of it, but skipped a couple of parts that I thought would be bad for my back. It felt good to finally get moving again!!

Well, I've got to get back in the kitchen. Baking a cake for my daughters birthday.....again!! The first one I made this morning utterly fell apart. I guess I didn't grease the pan well enough. If this one doesn't turn out, we're getting a cake at the store!!

Anyhoo, talk at ya later,
Jen

Good afternoon ladies!

What a busy day today and tomorrow is...this morning when I got home I had to bag my avon orders, then went to WW meeting, then to market, then prepare my food,etc.etc. Tomorrow I have to drive up north for a treatment meeting for my son (he is in residential care)...I am afraid no time for exercise. Is that awful? If I did it right when I got home, then I would be too energetic to get some sleep before going up North. Oh we will see.

What a wet, dreary day here as well....it is much needed, though.

Mooz..I would love to join you for 1 week...but dont know that I can do all of those things each day. I could do it if I really planned and had some notice!

Lauri,--I have the set of 3 Walk Off The Weight At Home...they are good! I do agree with Patty that they are not very hard workouts...which is good if thats what your looking for! I never gave any thought to long term goals..perhaps I should.

SEMO--I strictly work the 11pm - 7am shift. Right now it is almost 2:30 Pm so I will be going to bed momentarily! It sure can be a real drag. I hope I am able to move to the day shift in the future so I can live a more normal life!

Patty..I hope you get to feeling better soon and that when you go for your appt. they can give you some help with that!

It sounds like more than one person here has some back trouble. I do too! I have had problems with my back off and on..nothing diagnosed..for the past 8 yrs or so. I know it is from the work I do ( I am a CNA). In December I had to miss a week of work as I pulled a muscle in my back. It gets so tight and achey almost every day. And some exercises do bother it. So what are the stretching/yoga videos that I can do to help it?

Have a good rest of the day everyone! I am going to bed..dont know if I can post tomorrow as I will be up north for several hours and I also have to get sleep as I have to work tonight and tomorrow night! But I hope I can check in sometime on Friday!

Hello Ladies
Came home this evening & I was tired, but I made myself walk 2 miles on the treadmill. I wasn't to hungary for dinner so I just had a bowl of oatmeal. I still have about 16 oz of water to drink to get to my 64 oz. I know I should be drinking more.
We'll I think I'm going to hit the sack, I'm hoping to eat up early & maybe do a tae bo tape...
talk to you all tomorrow...

Good morning girls

The sun is shining here today although it doesn't look like it is an all day sunshine.
I think I did really well yesterday as I recorded everything in my journal, kept to my points, drank 1.5 litres of water, walked 2 miles and went linedancing last night and boy am I feeling good this morning
You would think that if I could do it one day that I could do it for the other six
I think I probably have more time than most of you all seem to have as I don't work although I look after my mother ,who lives with us. Thank God so far she is easy to attend to and she is always in a good mood which makes life much easier. She will be 90 in August. She suffers from osteoporosis and that is one of the reasons that I need to keep exercising so that I can remain
Anyway I must run and get a shower before my youngest gets up for school.

Self love is the only weight-loss aid that really works in the long run. - Jenny Craig

Will call in later.

Good Morning Ladies and Happy Thursday!

Mooz, sorry to hear about your mother. Your right about getting the exercise and don't forget to take extra calcium. That is a must for all women. BTW a big STAR for you on doing so well yesterday, great job.

Having yet another rainy, cold day. Gosh if this weather ever dries you may not hear from me for weeks. No, I'll make it a point to at least jot a line or two.

Patty, will your work slow down or do you stay busy all the time? Hope that you are feeling much better today.

Hello to Barbie, Jen and Lauri. Big boss is here today..so I gotta run.

(wispering) I'll be back later.
