Hey I got the schedule for the runs this year here where I live- the first 10k is in March. I am going to sign up for it, that coworker I talked about that ran the marathon last year said she would go with me, that is great motivation. Just thought I would share!

I love 10ks, I think they're my favourite distance - 5k is too short! (I never thought I'd say that...)

No running today, I did an hour of weights this morning (hard hard hard, I've fiddled around with what I do a bit), and I've got an hour and a half of yoga later this evening. Then a run tomorrow morning, I'd better check what's on the schedule before I go to bed!

If you've done a 5 miler I'm sure you'll be fine with a 10k. I've not done 5 miles yet, but I've got one planned for March once I've done with the half marathon.

Default Running outside for the first time

Today was the first time I ran 3 miles outside! Boy, what a big difference. First it took me a little while to figure out my pace. I never had to worry about it on the treadmil. But I really didn't know how fast I was really moving. The senery was beautiful and although it did get hot occasionaly, when the wind blows, it feels so great!

If you've done a 5 miler, you will have no problem with the 10K, dont worry you'll do great! :-) Good luck with your 5K, this weekend!

Ilene- No we wont train together I live 40 miles from her and it would be too much to keep coming into town when Im not actually coming to work. I will train with her via email- what we did etc. I am trying to get another co-worker to join us, she has never run but I think she could do the 5k in March. We shall see, she is still thinking about it.

JustJuneBug- Good luck in reaching your 33 min goal!

4.25miles on the this morning, with a few "bursts" of speed. I'm following the half marathon schedule to the letter at the moment and finding it surprisingly doable, so I guess I'm going to end up doing it!

YP for making that decision!!

I was soooo lazy today, it was a very good thing that I was meeting up with the gals for our Thursday run because I felt much better afterwards, if it wouldve been left up to me alone I would have stayed in the warmth of my foyer

Unhappy Hip Hurts

Since we had a few gorgeous days (in the 50s) while I was at home this time, I ran outside on a trail by the river. The scenery was beautiful and the light breeze was just perfect.

JustJuneBug, you are absolutely right, it is a lot harder outside. Especially on my joints and lungs. My throat was very dry and I think I might have injured my hip. It hurts to walk.

But I can’t figure out if the hip problem is because of me running outside or my shoes. I’ve not had problem with these shoes before. How can I tell if they are worn out?
