Today has gotten off to a great start for me. I have gotten a 2 mile walk in so far and plan on doing 2 more in between doing laundry and cleaning. Eating is good as is water. I have decided to stick with just the 4 16.9 oz bottles of water a day and if I should happen to drink more then hooray for me. But I will drink the 4 for sure. I have been lax with the water drinking and journaling, something I really need to stick with and am going to, that and taking my vitamins. I have slipped with the vitamins, not sure why as they are sitting on the kitchen counter in a basket. I just never think to take them. I am hoping to see a loss come Monday morning weigh in. I know I have said I was going to go to weighing in twice a month but I don't think that is going to happen. I am dying to get on those scales now but I will wait till Monday morning.
Kristi and Turtle, WTG on your walking! You ladies are doing an awesome job!
Jenifer, don't feel bad. We all have days and even weeks like that. I know I have anyway. Just take care of yourself and do what you can when you feel up to it.
Well, I hope EVERYONE is having a GREAT Friday! I will check back later when I finish my walking for the day and edit my post. Later...
June Goal~75 miles
Miles 6/05/03~zero
Miles 6/06/03~3.5
Total Miles 6/03~14.76 miles
Miles to go~60.24 miles
P.S. Ended up doing just an additional 1.5 miles instead of another 2, which is fine. Just was too busy with things.
Kristen, good job on your walk! You are doing a fantastic job.
Well, I am outta here for the evening. Hope EVERYONE has a wonderful weekend!
i missed you all yesterday. i had nothing to post yesterday since i didn't walk. it's my wonderful tom.... and i ended up getting it yesterday... EXTREMELY BAD. i felt so weak. but i'm feeling alright today. a little sore in the lower back... but besides that, i'm alright.
i ended up walking tonight around the lake in wakefield. i love that place, but the bugs were so bad out tonight. i felt like if i breathed through my mouth that i was going to swallow a dozen. i've never seen it like that before. but i had a good walk. i felt a little stiff and a little bloated, but it was a good time. i realize that when i walk around the track i'm more focused on how fast i walk, etc. this was more like a leisurely thing. which is still good, so i can't complain. so another 3 miles walked for me today! yippee. just 57 more to go!
i think i can .... i think i can....
JUNE GOAL: 70 miles
MILES WALKED: 13 miles
MILES TO GOAL: 57 miles
Just wanted to come on here real quick and wish you all a wonderful walking week.. I don't think I'm going to make my vacation goal, but that's okay. I have to get up in 4 hours to finish packing everything into the motor home. Then we will be leaving at 6 am. My sis decided not to go, so I think everybody is going to have a good time including her.
I will post again once I get back. You all have an awesome week.
Happy Saturday everyone! I don't know why but I'm getting so lazy about posting...I am walking though, it's just that there's sometimes not enough time in the day to everything I wanna do and in the evening, well, I have to arm-wrestle hubby for the use of the computer . I had a great morning so far, went for a bit longer walk today, I'm gonna say 4 miles since I extended my regular route to go around a whole half of a golf course, and I ran into a dear old childhood friend--we got to walk and chat for quite a ways. That has put me in a good mood for the day.
I have to get upstairs and give my boy some breakfast, but I'll check back and catch up w/you ladies in a bit. Have a great weekend.

I was doing soooo well today. Staying within points, doing my aerobics.... not bad for someone who wanted to eat everything in sight, BUT DIDN'T! However, went to my parents' for dinner, and was ok right up to when mum brought out the choccy pudding! DOH!!! Just as well I DID do the aerobics!
I'm off to bed. Fingers crossed for a good night's sleep. Baby has just been fed, so hoping she'll not need to stir till morning.
Hi all, I had a great time at my parties and managed to only go over by about 400 cals. (the 2 drinks I had) It was hillarious I took an insulated sports "mug" with me full of water and just kept sipping it at the first party. I was a bartender for 11 yrs up until 10 yrs. ago, so there are some people that still expect me to drink shots etc. so when someone finally asked me what I was drinking I just told them it was something I'd poured myself at home. There were actually people commenting on how silly I was getting and how they wished they had some of what I had to drink. What a hoot! When late in the evening everyone was having shots of "I'm going bananas over you" I had a couple and then headed home. My husband was hysterical with laughter over my little deception. Anyway, I got in only 1.75 miles for today very slowly because my 6 yr. old came with me. It was nice though, she pointed out loads of things I would normally zoom passed and since I carried her for 1/4 mile I figure it evens out. Having a nice lazy day pretty sure to go over cals. again today, but tomorrows another day. Hope you're all havinga good one!
what's going on with you all? i hope that you had a wonderful weekend. my weekend was pretty good. i saw a couple friends that i haven't seen in a while. one of them knew i joined ww. and she was really excited to see me. she's like "oh my God... you look great." which made me feel absolutely ecstatic. we ended up hanging out all day and saw "the italian job". it was a pretty good movie. i recommend it.
so yesterday was weigh - in. since i was steady last week, i really just wanted to see some sort of loss this week. and i got it. 1.4! woo hoo! 23.8 total. just 1.2 more to 25. i am hoping that it's this week, but if it's not... i'm sure it will be next week!
today i ended up walking around the lake in wakefield. i went the opposite way of what i normally go... and let me tell you... it changed things up a bit. it was tougher at the beginning and not so bad at the end. but it was good all around. so chalk me up for another 3 miles. yesterday i really didn't get much in. maybe a half mile. MAYBE. but i even doubt that!
noelle - great job on the walking! 4 miles! woo hoo... and you got to bump into a childhood friend! what could be better?
jenifer - try not to get upset over the .8 gain. i'm sure you'll be able to make some changes to what you're doing and be able to lose the gain and then some!
lynne - pudding can get me everytime! at least you have a good attitude about it all!
kristi - very funny story about your parties! i'll have to think of that next time... although i may not be able to pull it off as well as you!
til next time....

Man do I sound like a broken record. I didn't do my walking on the treadmill today but and this is a big but I helped work a car show all day. Left the house at about 8 this AM and didn't get home till about 4:30PM. I sold almost $300 worth of food tickets at $1 each and $256 in 50/50 split tickets. I also helped with the door prizes and registration. I was on my feet almost the whole time. My feet are killing me and I am NOT gonna walk on that treadmill!
I do have to say I behaved myself witht he food! I had a Carb Solution bar (it was nasty and I will never buy one of those again) for breakfast along with 2 cups of coffee with sugar. Lunch was 1 hot dog and a bottle of Pepsi One. I had a snack of 1 oz of Sun Chips after I got home then I had a Lean Cuisine Spaghetti with tomato sauce for supper.
Wow! It is Sunday night already........ Hehee! Hope everyone Babe had a great weekend! I did my elliptical for 15 minutes (it was hard and I was sripping wet when I was done) and then tonight I walked 2.5!
Kristen great job on your weight loss! Your going to be in Onderland before you know it! Keep us posted!
Kristi your so funny about your party! Glad to hear your having a great time!
Janine your doing awesome on your choice for food considering where you were at.
Lynne how was the sleep? Sounds like you have been having some late nights??
Well I am going to make it a goal to do the elliptical in the mornings before I shower for work. I will post my results here I still want to walk at night. I really want to see a loss on the scales come Saturday! Thanks for the support here ladies!
To everyone I hope you all have a great week of walking! Drink your water!

I did some more gardening today. It's really starting to take shape.. well in my mind anyway! Also got my walk in. Just wish this backache would rack off! I've had it for years, and sometimes when I do things like washing dishes or gardening it really gets triggered off. It makes my walking really uncomfortable sometimes. Although my extra weight isn't the cause, it certainly doesn't help. I saw an article on tv tonight about a ground breaking treatment that has been around for a few years that apparently fixes it with one shot of steroid straight into the pelvic region of your back. I'm gonna suss it out tomorrow - sounds almost too good to be true!
Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be quite nice, so I've got some major weeding to do. Would you believe that new garden I planted about 4 weeks ago is already innundated with soursob weeds! REALLY glad I'm not working at the moment - I'd never be able to keep up!!!
Kristi, I think what you did for your party was a CLASSIC! It just goes to show that you don't have to drink, or get drunk, to have a good time. So many people look at you as if you've got a brick missing if you don't drink at parties. I certainly will remember that trick next time!
Kristen, on the loss!!!!!! It must be soooo exciting being so close to goal, and having so much behind you! Well done!!!
Janine, congrats on such a success with all your sales! Sounds like you did enough to keep you busy!!! Being on your feet all day moving around might be mild exercise, but it still counts! It sure beats sitting on a couch all day!
Jenifer, no matter how hard I try, it's not very often that I get to bed early. Josh doesn't go to bed till 8pm, and then there's dishes and stuff to do before I even get to sit down on the puter and catch up with all my weight loss stuff! Mind you, I've managed to get in early tonight - it's 8.45pm and I'm hitting the sack in about 15 minutes - I won't know what to do with all that sleep! What's an elliptical machine? Well done on your exercise! And don't worry about the small gain - it could just be all that muscle forming from all your exercise! Marc read today that you don't lose as much weight in cold weather either, cos your body retains water. Guess it doesn't get sweated out as much or something.... Guess I'm really stuffed then - I've got TOM coming up and it's bloody freezing!!!
Wel, I've just had my cup of hot chocolate, and off to bed with a good book. It's getting colder at nights, so all I want to do is snuggle down and not move!!!!! Mind you, we don't experience winter anywhere near as cold as you guys do. brrrr!
Kristen, How wonderful of your friend to comment, it's always nice to get positive feed back. Great job on your loss!
Janine, It sounds to me like you had a very active weekend and did a great job on your food (thanks for the heads up on those carb. bars ) I think it's very imp. to count any and all activity as execise not just the "contructive" type. It's an active lifestyle we want to lead not a tied to the treadmill lifestyle! What kind of car do you and your honey show?
Jenifer, WTG on that elliptical trainer! They look like sooo much work. I hope you're not still fretting over that .8 pounds, I just know you'll see a loss this week you're always so active and doing so good.
Lynne, I am so enjoying corresponding with you! Having you talk about your weather and stuff really broadens my world and helps me to remember just how big this planet we live on is. My garden too is full of weeds, I'm heading out soon to run the roto tiller between the rows. I know it's the lazy woman's way out!! Keep up the great work, you're doing awesome!
As for me, I managed to do a 6 mile bike ride last night. My first of the year. I haven't gotten far enough into today to know what I'll be doing. I have the 3 oldest children cleaning house right now. I told them I wasn't tote'n 'em to town to the pool if they didn't help around here! The old one hand washes the other theory. I think with the children home now I'm going to try to have our larger meal at lunch time rather than the eve to see if that helps move anything. Well have a great mon. Babes!
I was supposed to go out of town this week but had a change of plans. A dear friend of mine from CA is going through a divorce and her soon to be ex will be moving to Arkansas. Well, he will have the kids for a month this summer and she can't stand to be away from the kids for that long so she will be making a trip there to visit and we are planning to spend a few days together. So rather than go there this week I have postponed my trip for a few weeks.
Well, today was weigh in and I am down 1.5 lbs.! YIPPEE! Finally I am seeing a loss every week, well, this week and last week. So, maybe I will make my June goal afterall. I have 5 lbs. and 3 weeks to go. I hope I haven't made my goal too high. I haven't gotten my walk in for the day yet but plan on doing no less than 3 miles and will edit this post later.
Sounds like everyone is doing fine.
WTG Kristen on your loss!
Jenifer, I bet anything your gain is muscle so I wouldn't fret too much over it. You have been doing such a great job with your walking and exercising. Between you and Noelle you have got me very curious about the elliptical. Sounds like you are doing fine with it.
Kristi, loved the story about your party! I will have to remember that one.
Janine, you may not be getting on the treadmill but you are definitely getting a workout. The main thing is you are moving and that's all that matters. It has to count for something. WTG on the sales!
Lynne, you are working so hard on your garden! I would love to see a pic. I can understand your back hurting, gardening is hard work.
Hope EVERYONE is having a great Monday! Take care.

P.S. Almost forgot to post todays miles Did a little over 3 miles today.
Hey Cristi great job on another loss. You are doing awesome. WTG. Your friend sounds lucky to have you at such a time in her life. God bless you!
I ended up having a great day today. My 3 yr. old was off at work with DH so it was just me and the 3 older ones who got to go the local pool. The rule is 6 yrs. old and up can be left without a parent so I dropped them and hit the bike trail for a 4 mile walk. I was able to walk a new section since I got on the trail in town. It was very pretty, but almost a little scary at first. For much of the walk the trail is very isolated from society. The trail is seperated from the highway by about a mile plus one of WI larger rivers flows there as well. I met just two men while out there, but it occured to me there was no place to go for help if needed. Beautiful rocky bluffs on one side and the river on the other. Of course there was no need to worry and I figure the more times I walk it the more comfortable I'll get. Silly I know!!! Anyway, when I was done walking I returned to the pool and swam laps for 20 min. during adult hr. It was great, the pool has a 150 person capacity and I was the only one it. The life guard just laid on the diving board. My muscles felt so awesomely (is that a word?) relaxed. I felt so good I even took the kids out after supper. 2 on bikes and 2 walking and did another mile. Thanks again to all of you for getting me back in gear!
