Welcome to the thread, good to see more people trying out C25K.

Good for you, Janey, to give it a go - if you find you still really don't like running, there are a lot of other forms of exercise to do; pick one that you love, the important thing is to keep on moving!
I don't know about the apps, I don't have an iPhone myself. Try googling C25K; I've been following the one from coolrunning.com but there are a few programs, take your pick!
I'm actually on Week 8 now - gee, the end is in sight! I'm so slow that I only cover a little over 2 miles in the 28 minutes, so I've got to work on increasing my speed. I'm just happy (and amazed!) that I am jogging for an entire 28 minutes now - don't think I ever have before in my life!
