I bought the program in January and I need to start. I am used to walking for 30 minutes, but I know that I need to start something new to see more changes.
I started workout 3 in Phase 1 today. Ouch. I am very scared of what the future holds for workouts! HOWEVER - I am out of the 160's as of today so I am tickled pink! Going to keep at it. My workout wasn't pretty today, but I did the whole thing so I'm pretty proud of myself.
Goodlife Fitness has Jillian Michaels Bodyshred classes now but only a few select times during the week at clubs a distance from me. Am going to one or two a week for the summer but once fall rolls around I might just use the Body Revolution DVDs that I just bought. I did one of the DVDs and so far it is pretty similar to the Bodyshred classes so I'm hoping they are a good substitute.
I bought this program back in April, I think, but I had a ton of major events (good excuses) to not start it until now- cross country move, started working at new office, went back to school for my degree... All of which have stalled my weight loss efforts for the last 6 months. When I got this program I was very overwhelmed at how strict the diet seemed... But today I am so ready, I've shopped and prepped for the week and have started day 1 of the super scary sounding kickstart program. Lets see if I can lose a jean size in 1 week!! So motivated Thanks all!!
reading all these comments has really made me want to do this workout but i can't afford it really want to try it out though, i'l be keeping a lookout on ebay and amazon in case anyones selling it on there, here in the UK though
look forward to reading about everyones weight loss journeys! i tried the 30 day but pulled a muscle in my back so am waiting on that to heal before carrying on with it
3 weeks in!! I did the (super hard) kickstart for the first week. It was hard... but I did it. And just surviving that changed me... it made the regular diet and workout plan so much more doable. So, I'm happy to say I've lost 5 lbs on the diet so far (yes, I cheated both weekends and drank, plus attended my daughter's pizza party) but I am down a pant size and actually enjoying how good my workouts make me feel. All I can say is... DO IT!! It's worth it!!!
I started today! I am doing the metabolism blast start- boy it's tough! But I am looking forward to the journey, and seeing the changes in my body and strength. I struggled thru the first session - the push ups and the cycle crunches were HARD! Here's hoping they get easier and easier!
Phew, second session done! It was tough again, but I made it through with only a few modifications and one quick drink break. Pretty proud that I have made two! Now for the next 88! Can't wait to feel stronger and fitter.
I'm new here and to blogging itself so if I break any rules or post something wrong please just let me know.
I just started JM Body Revolution Monday and now am realizing that I jumped into it headfirst without doing my research. I read online that your supposed to kick off week 1 with the 7 day special "starvation" diet (lol) and the workouts followed by the aerobic everyday for the first week
Here's the thing tho - I will be going into day 4 tonight and I can hardly walk I am so sore as it is - I cant imagine having started this doing both a workout and an aerobic workout every night.
Was anyone else insanely sore the first few days? I'm talking, cant bend over, lower myself down on the toilet or walk without looking like a mummy? I want to get the best results possible - thinking about resting the rest of this week and starting fresh on Monday???

Hi there!
I'm starting day four tonight - SUPER sore, but feeling good. Are you doing the diet too?

Hi there!
First off, I NEVER did two workouts in the same day. I thought that was way too much (especially in the beginning). My suggestion - push through, either lighten up the weights or don't use them with every single workout. Remember, you control your workout. If you need to modify, then by all means modify. This isn't the Biggest Loser and Jillian isn't in your face forcing you to do it her way...lol. Anyway, I think you get the picture
After your workouts take a nice hot bath or shower and take some Advil or whatever pain reliever you take. Do that until the soreness has subsided. Just don't quit!! Keep pushing play every single day. Give yourself about 2 weeks of being sore - although it will subside more and more each day. Just don't give up, okay? We've all been there and it WILL be worth it in the end!!
I am starting over fresh today. After three days in, I ofund out I wasn't following the "plan". I read a blog that said the 7 day kickstart is meant to regulate your metabolism or whatever. So I decided to take the rest of the week off to let my muscles heal - and I started both this incredibly diffcult 7 day diet (lol) and the two workouts a day. I have five kids so I have to workout at like 9 at night, but I am looking forward to it and am prepared to have my butt handed to me. Of course I say that now that I can walk normally again.

Hopefully you won't be as sore as the first round
WOw 5 kids! Kudos to you for your perserverence! Well I'm with you on starting over. I had to restart and rethink my diet (I had started the HCG Diet, but decided to stop after the first day - primarily from reading posts on this board about it). So I am now eating a sensible 1200 day calorie diet, plus doing Jillian's workouts and weight training. The combination worked for me before, so I'm definately doing it again.
Keep me posted with your results!! I'm doing Cardio 1 - Weeks 1 & 2 tonight and doing triceps for my weight training body part.
