Looks like a lot of people are at the same point I am. Id w5d3 today! I cant believe I ran 20 minutes straight!!! I have never done that before. I may not have been fast, but I did it.
I've not been able to go for a little over a week due to my knee hurting (mountainbike sillyness on my holiday, lol). Tonight I am gonna go for my w3d3 run. I hope it goes well, because I am anxious to get to week 4, but I know it's a big step so I need to be able to do it. I've not failed at any of the runs yet, and I don't want to either.
Update: Well, just did w3d3, and I am gonna do it a second time. Because I made it just barely, and after that week and a half break, I am not up for week 4 already. Oh well, just a minor stall. I might even do it twice before I move on to week 4. Week 4 kinda scares me. LOL.
Haven't posted in a while, because I haven't been able to work out on a regular basis in a while. Life has been very chaotic. I should be on W6d2, but it had been over a week since I have even made it to the gym, and I am back on Phase 1 South Beach to counteract a little scale creep, so I ran W5D1 tonight. I think I may linger in W5 till I'm out of Phase 1.
Hello all! I just started the program-- did W1D1 today. Downloaded the C25K iPhone App and was really excited to use it for the first time. Looking forward to using it for a good long while.
Question for all you seasoned C25K-ers: During W1D1 today I was having a lot of pain/discomfort in my left leg, mostly near the hip and knee. Unsure if it's muscle or joint pain. Any thoughts on preventing or helping this? Thanks in advance.
UrthWurm - welcome! Awesome, I wish I had an iPhone, hihi. But I use the podcasts, works well too.
On the pain in your hip: do you have propper running shoes? On what surface are you running? Do you use the right technique? I don't know the english word for it! but you have to land on your feet in a certain way to create the least amount of impact on your joints.
I just found out about this! I'm going to try it starting next week. I'm excited! A little scared, but excited nonetheless. I love reading the success stories.
jog 800m
walk 400m
jog 500m
walk 500m
jog 600m
walk 800m -> end of 30 minutes
urgh...with this result, it looks like i'm at my week 5 rather than week 6.
But it could be due to t.o.m today as well.
I guess i'll push myself harder tomorrow and try week 6 day 1 to see.
But i'm glad that after doing nothing in 2 weeks, I was still able to manage a not-so-bad run.
it's good to be back here and be able to run again.
on a good news, for some reasons, even though I did none of the workout and eat like crap, but in those 2 weeks, my weight went down 1 kg, while months before that, it stalled at 56.5. Hey, talk about impossible T_T"

Goodluck!
Lol, the BF & I just got iPhones. I've never owned such an awesome device before!
About the pain.. I am wearing running shoes, I'm using a treadmill at my gym, and I'm probably not using the right technique. I feel a bit like a drunk person trying to run. I kind of sway a bit back and forth unless I'm specifically looking down at my feet or really concentrating. Is this bad?
urthworm: welcome to c25k I have hip pain as well. I have very flat feet so I have a lot of issues with them. Normally I push through and with only running 3-4x a week, it seems to be doable. It could just be soreness or you could look up some good technniques
annita: congrats on the weight loss
I have d3 of w6 tomorrow. 25 min baby. I am scarrrred. Hope it goes well. I might be slow, but I am still doing it.
OMG! So, I skipped w2d3 and now I skipped w3d3 again because I just couldn't wait to get on with it, haha. I shouldn't do that anymore, because the jumps are gonna be bigger from here on.
Just did w4d1 - and it was hard, but not as hard as I thought it would be! In my podcast its:
3min run
walk
5min run
walk
3 min run
walk
5min run
My first 5min run was uphill mostly, so I am so proud I made it! haha.
