W2D2 complete! A bit easier than D1... I think it's actually the boredom that I can't stand when I'm doing it on the treadmill. I figure I'll stay on the treadmill until I start week 3, and see how I feel about it. It's actually delightfully rainy here just now, and I'd love to go running in it with my doggy. I got new trainers too !
How does everyone else deal with the treadmill boredom??
Hi all. I am so glad to have found this thread. I can hold myself accountable to posting in here every other day.
I am actually on W3D2 tonight. I will post when complete later!
Nice to meet you. I have read every post in here and have learned so much and am so INSPIRED. I enjoyed the past 3 weeks, but now it will be even better, because there is someone out there other than myself doing this.
yesterday, w6d2 was easy as a pie.
today, w6d2 wasn't as good. I managed to run until the 5th minute of 2nd running interval, then end up walking - running alternatively for the last couple of minutes (around 2-3 minutes walking then changed to running and so on).
I had side stitches and my legs couldn't move either.
But anyways, it still was a good workout. Wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst either.
I'm planning to work on w6d2 a few more days...I am not in the mood to run the whole 25 minutes right now (w6d3),
It's not really about I don't think I can do it. It's rather about i've been feeling down lately and running doesn't seem as fun as few weeks ago. Changing playlists didn't help either. Maybe I should change my route or something. Running the opposite side with the one i'm doing right now..
It is raining and storming so much here. It is really crazy. I thought I'd be way further along in my runs before autumn starts. But there's just no summer this year.
I got back to running today, although I still felt a little sore from Sunday.
I attempted W5D3 (20 min, 2 miles), got a little bit past the one mile mark and pooped out. My HRM slipped and I ended up going out too fast. I mapped out a nice 2 mile course around my neighborhood. I'm going to keep at it until I can complete it a few days in a row. I'll give my road course another go tomorrow
W8D2 attempted, but not completed. I got 13 minutes in and was just not feeling it, so I walked 3 minutes, ran 6 more, and then walked the rest. I'm thinking it could be because I've been pretty much living off of potato chips and hamburgers the last few days. Oh well...Back on it tomorrow!
kariatari - haha, eating junkfood does not help. I notice I really am physically less capable when I haven't eaten clean foods. Weird how that works! But OMG. You are at week 8. I just can't even image getting there ... as in.. EVER!
My biggest onbstacle really seems to be getting out there. I wanna run in the mornings but I just can't drag myself out of bed when it rains. So I tell myself I'll go in the vening, but then after a long day of work I again don't want to face the wind and the rain. When it's sunny I am out there instantly. Looking forward to the WINTER, it will be dry then. Just cold but running makes you warm anyhow. This is really the crappiest summer we have ever had here in The Netherlands. Really.
philana, you'll get there! I never would have thought I'd get to week 8 either. It feels great though!
I totally understand about the weather. We've had some crappy weather too - I'm talking high heat and high humidity combining for days where the temperature is 100+ but paired with the humidity feels like 115+. UGH! Thankfully we just started having some cooler weather (just 77!) with absolutely no humidity that makes it a pleasure to go and run. It's got me excited for the cooler, crisp autumn weather!

I can't handle being bored on the treadmill, honestly - I'd much rather run in the rain than run on a treadmill. If I had to, I'd try to pick one in a spot where I could do some people-watching and I'd have a selection of excellent music (or audio-books) to distract me.
I just finished W5D2 last night. I didn't think I'd be able to do the 8-minute intervals, but lo and behold, it actually wasn't too hard. I could've kept going a little bit when I was done. So, maybe I'll be able to get Friday's 20-minute run. We'll see.
How do I deal with treadmill boredom? I avoid it as much as possible! I run outside unless there's a nasty blizzard or ice storm. When my meetings with the treadmill are few and far between, it's much easier to stomach!
Yes, I definitely think I'm going to move to outdoor running asap! After the week 3 intervals I'm going to start doing outside.
PS: Treadmill: what speed do you guys consider running? I googled about and got some website saying 4.5mph is running for the c25k, and I thought it was kind of slow. Just want to get a general consensus. I run at 9kph, but I think I'm going to push it down a bit.
Did a late night run again, but I completed w2d1! It was kinda tough in the way that I had difficulty keeping my breathing normal. I really need to practice proper breathing. But - I made it, the last run was tough but I am glad the Voice (I use one of the downloads) does not say "another 20 seconds, you are almost there". Because he did with week 1 - and those 20seconds are just killing because of that. lol.
yossarianlives: I'm not exactly sure how fast I run, since I do it outside, but I think it's around 6mph. I don't think it matters, though, honestly, as long as you're moving faster than a walk. You can work on improving your pace after you work up to running the whole 30 minutes. philana: Haha, that's funny - I love it when they announce how much longer there is to go. Kind of perks me up and lets me know I might not die after all.
