So yesterday, I took a walk in the early afternoon.. did some laps around my building (1.5 miles) and then took my 3.5 mile walk in the evening as usual around the neighborhood. Total of 5 miles yesterday. I think my body is protesting because things ache and joints are swollen and I'm feeling very much the beginner all over again.
I know there's a certain amount of water retention, but I'm not liking the direction of the scale right now. I'm trying to ignore the nagging feeling that it's my fault, because I know I'm doing everything right, but the number has gone up 3 pounds this week since Monday alone.
As a woman, I'll just blame it on my cycle.

That's it. It's my cycle's fault. Who would question that?
