I'm on a little break because of a series of 8 cortisone shots in my shoulder. No pushups or planks for me...oy.

This is round 5 or 6 on the shots. They take it down to tolerable for a short period of time, but it's pretty brutal most of the time. I'm trying to work around it as best as possible.

I'm up to 4 in a row!! Maybe I'm imagining things, but I'm starting to see more core definition. I also KNOW for a fact that my back is hurting less when I'm standing for longer times.

WOO HOO!! Congratulations!

I'm holding steady at 3 full + 1 modified (meaning, modified pushup). I think I may need to adjust my Thanksgiving target date for getting to 6 of these bad boys . Oh well...keep on plankin'!!

I'm starting a strength workout tonight (3 days a week) and will be adding these in. I'm doing the pushup, sit up, and squat challenge on hundredpushups.com and they last 6 weeks. So this will be perfect. Hoping to add 1 rotation each week.

WTG madalinn!! You are stll the queen of planks, in my book

JackieHollow - welcome! Looking forward to hearing how these are going for you.

I've taken a short hiatus from the planks as I've really focused on additional strength training using Jillian Michael's DVDs. She incorporates plenty of planks, so my upper body has been so sore that I haven't been able to get back to this set.

Will get back to it by the weekend & post results. I'm hopin for a miracle increase...we'll see .

How's everyone else doing?

OH MY WORD those are TOUGH. I got 1 done... but just barely. I think we're going to lower it down to 10 seconds each. We are doing pushups and tons of arm exercises anyway....

Well, I did one sorta, kept looking up at computer for the destructions.

And it's still early and I'm a dork without coffee, instead of the regular plank, I was doing a side plank all the way up on one arm, that's a killer.

I looked up the regular plank, now it makes more sense. *rolls eyes*

I'm doing a power yoga workout with 8# weights, will add this in.

I love a challenge so when I saw this thread I had to give it a try. I am proud to say I did 5 repetitions! Though I didn't think I'd get past 3 after the second one! I will do 6 before Halloween.

WOW! You ladies are kicking my rear end!!!

Nicely done. I'm traveling the next 2 days, and will make a concerted effort to get back into the Holy Cow Plank routine. I have been doing planks with Jillian, but just not this series...so lets see if the hard work has paid off.

Wish me luck. I'll report back tomorrow .

Ok I gave up during the 4th one today. Not after, during. Certainly not a victory seeing as I got through 5 yesterday. Not to make excuses but I did try today after 45 min of cardio and yesterday I was fresh. Plus I was timing myself today and hubby did it for me yesterday. Easier when you only have to focus on what you're doing. Rock climbing tomorrow and TRX boot camp on Thursday. So if I'm not too sore from TRX I'll try again on Friday.
