  • Well we are getting closer to May 1st and hubby's hip surgeries. He is not excited but he can't wait for the pain to go away. He will be donating his own blood for the 2 operations, so we both feel better about that.
We have started back on the WW hardcore ths week and so far I have already lost 5lbs (he is down 7). I really do remember this working in the past but it really is mind over matter...If I set my mind to it, it really doesn't matter that I'm not eating a ooey gooey bacon cheeseburger! Hee hee
Actually we decided to go hardcore becuase of the surgeries coming up, as he will not be exercising for approx. 30 days: then he can get back in the pool and rehab and get the joints working properly again. He alreadys says he can't wait to get back on his bike (cycling) Doc says 5 weeks post the second hip..he's already counting.
On the adoption front, things are moving along but slowly!!! We both celebrate our birthdays in June and are hoping for a great gift, the placement of our child.

Now for the running totals as of today 101.5/100

  • Ahh... we just got more news on hubby's surgeries...he has to have raditation prior to both surgeries due to the large amount of bone spurs he has acquired. The surgeon hopes that by ungoing radiation it will prevent more bone spurs from growing in the future. Hubby is really not happy, but understands the reasoning. He can't wait for this week to be over (lots of OT at the prison) so that he can get back in the pool and take some pressure off the joints.
    107/100...yeah!!!!!

  • lilligurl, great job getting all those miles in when you have so much going on in your life. My prayers are with you both.

EZ$, How nice that you could all be together for Easter. I love when everyone's together.

L, have a good time in NY!!

Wow, did I have a walk today. I did the 7 mile route I've been enjoying for years, but today a farm dog was out w/o any masters. Uh huh, she bullied me terribly. Growling, hair raised, shoulders bunched, tail curled. She stayed with me for about a tenth of a mile. Yes, she did bite me. About half way through our stroll together. Nothing serious. She left teeth marks and one tooth just broke the skin. I'll tell you it was very scary. I love dogs and thankfully remained calm (on the outside). I continued to order her home like I knew I was in charge and not her. She kept head butting my rear and bashing into me legs from both the right and left! Scary!!!! I really think she wanted me to run. Just as soon as I hit the edge of their land she went back home. Being a small rural community we've known the family forever. They assured me her shots were up to date. I let them know I'd be walking by about the same time tomorrow. They said if they hear her bark they'll call her in. I said no, come out and introduce me to her. I plan to keep doing this walking thing for a long time. I can't let this ground me.

    Enjoy your Friday all!
