Happy Easter!!!

Quiet here. I slept late and nothing new going on here. Even weight is about the same just slight fluctuation which means nothing.

Have a great day Everybody.

Wannabehealthy 04-17-2022 08:04 PM

Home again. We had a nice time with step daughter and SIL. It was hard eating 2 Easter dinners in 2 days. Too much food. And we have the ham that I cooked. I shouldn't have bought it. I think I will give half to step daughter as she will freeze it . Right now I feel like I won't need to eat for a few days. I haven't been on the scale for a while and probably won't get on again anytime soon!!

fatmad 04-18-2022 10:21 AM

DD also made a great Easter supper, ham, cheese-y mashed potatoes, roast veggies. I made a good salad and the Tiramisu for dessert. I have left overs, will freeze those.
I to feel over fed, and had some insomnia due to having a glass of wine. So I did not get to sleep until 3 am, and am slow and tired today as a result. DH walked Buddy this am, but I need the afternoon walk to get moving and reset myself. I hope I can manage a normal sleep tonight.
I will start with fasting today.
Have a good day everyone.

I feel yukky from eating foods I don't normally eat. Step Daughter is not used to entertaining and she did not serve any vegetables. They eat mostly meat but do eat raw vegetables as a snack. I'm used to having a hot vegetable or two with a meal. When I hosted I usually served 2 vegetables in case someone didn't like one of them. I will have to remember that next time we go there. I will take vegetable sides. She sent a lot of leftovers home with us. We probably won't eat them, but DH took them to be polite. We are done with fatty rich food and ready to get back to normal.

Sounds like y'all had some really good visits and meals with family. That is terrific. Very happy for y'all.

I didn't do anything special but was hungry last night and ate some leftover brisket I found in freezer. I forgot about it being processed so I'm sure it had a lot of sodium. All that sodium for the past few days finally caught up with me and weight is up a little over 2 lbs. Weather is getting warmer so will work at drinking more water. The bad thing is that I am dragging today and don't want to cook. We will have sauerkraut with frans today along with a salad. Changing things up a bit. I ate brunch at 10 so that by the time I eat lunch it will be 5 hrs later. Then I will drink my protein shake five hrs after that. This makes my eating window 10 hrs which will shorten my fasts but I want to see how this works. I'm also changing my exercise routine as well. I read yesterday that we need to change things up sometime because our bodies adjust so we need to keep it guessing as to what is going on. I definitely need to get the scale going down more consistently.

I slept good but woke up early. Now I need a nap.

Have a good day everybody.

I feel totally exhausted today. I don't want to do anything. We have to take our car for inspection tomorrow. I am going to have canned vegetable soup for dinner or maybe just cooked vegetables.

I stopped taking my gout medicine 3 days ago. I read that it can cause an itchy rash. Maybe my rash is from that instead of psoriasis. I have started taking tart cherry again and might double up on it. If I get foot pain again I will just take the gout meds again. I am already less itchy. I hope this is a solution.

Trish, I agree that you have to switch things up or your body will adjust to what you are doing. This is why I like that I have some different exercise machines to change what I do. Now I just have to use them!

Wannabehealthy 04-19-2022 08:13 AM

Last night I took 1 Tylenol, 2 Benadryl and 1 tart cherry, and still didn't sleep! I slept for 2 hours then woke up and never went back to sleep. But I wasn't itchy which is a plus!

pattygirl63 04-19-2022 02:00 PM

Carol Sue Sorry you are having trouble sleeping but glad no itching. Hope it will be a passing thing and you will be able to sleep and get a good nights sleep soon.

Weight back down to 182.6 so thankful for that. FBG was 97. Wish I knew what I do to get that FBG to stay there. I think 10:14 hr eating ratio with 5 hr fast between 3 meals may be the way for me to go for a while. However, today is Tuesday and since we are going out my fast will be 19 hrs by the time we eat so it will be a 2MD. May try to do this again on Thursday and have a 2 day a week fast of 19 hrs each.

Going to local store as soon as DH gets up as we need to pick up 2 of his meds. I called to see why the other one he called in wasn't ready but they can't fill it until next week. We have a difficult time reading dates on their label because it is so small and I'm not used to it yet. So we didn't realize we called it in too soon. Only need a few groceries and today is McDs day so I've decided to get a fish sandwich instead of a burger. Will bring it home and switch it to SLMG bread instead of eating the bun.

I've decided that even though I really love some protein sources such as beef and pork chops etc, I do not like any of it enough to go keto. I think I am more of a lowfat/low carb eater. I just don't care for a lot of fat. but still want some of the more carby foods that or allowed on WW. I think that is probably why WW woe worked so well for me last year.

Hope everyone is have a nice day.

Wannabehealthy 04-19-2022 02:16 PM

Trish, I think not eating at night is what keeps fasting blood sugar down. I'm no authority, but it seems that when you aren't eating later your BS is low. I know its hard because you stay up later but maybe the shakes help. I hope you figure it out.

We got the car inspected. We need to go to Wal-Mart then to UPS. The plan is for dinner at Bob Evans but that could change. Yesterday I didn't feel good and today we have errands but tomorrow is back to exercise for sure! It has been so cold and we had snow today. Its due to go into the 80s by the end of the week. I've been colder than usual and its cold down in my exercise room until I get moving. I need that first good day, then another and another...

We went to Bob Evans and I had baked fish. I love fish. We went to Wal-Mart last and by that time I was exhausted, again. It was too long of a,day for me starting out at the car dealership early in the morning. I hope I sleep good tonight. We have nothing on schedule for tomorrow. I hope to get some laundry done and while I'm downstairs I will get some exercise done. I need to strengthen my legs.

pattygirl63 04-19-2022 11:06 PM

I ended up with a 6 hr eating window. Over did the carbs and didn't track today. Exercise today was walking and I've done the hang up clothes and gg ot them put away. Folding clothes are in the dryer now.

Carol Sue, I hope you will be able to sleep good tonight and wake up feeling rested and ready to go.

Wannabehealthy 04-20-2022 08:32 AM

You are inspiring me, Trish. I need to shorten my eating window. I think I will get on the scale today and face the music. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I'm afraid of seeing 190 again. After I weigh I will clean the bathroom and get laundry going. I feel pretty good today, so far.

_______________________

Things are never as bad as they seem. I'm up 3 lbs to 186. It feels like 10 lbs!! So I'm happy its not that bad, and I'll get it back down. Its actually only 2.4.

pattygirl63 04-20-2022 01:04 PM

Carol Sue, I seem to do better with a 6 hr window. I try to do different but it usually ends up that way so maybe that is what my body prefers most of the time.

My weight is up .8 lbs today but that is okay. Yesterday was one of those eat what I wanted to eat, plus I fasted 19 hrs before. I will attempt another one of those tomorrow. I've never done the 2:5 plan but this might be a good time to do it since scale isn't doing much any way no matter what I do.

My mind set at the moment is for me to also just do calories for a while and include what I want but keep carbs moderately low along with low-fat but not fat free and not worry too much about balancing the macros. It is just too much work even on MFP. I changed the settings on that again because I'm not sure how accurate they are since it is hard to know for sure what #s are correct because of the variations of calorie counts are all over the place. I have to wonder sometimes where these people get their info from.

This morning I had my fruit and 1 egg and 1 slice of Canadian bacon with a sprinkle of shredded Parmesan cheese with my coffee. I would love to just do 2M today within 4 hrs but I know I won't so I've got the protein shake planned. Pork chops for dinner. Calories will between 1100 and 1200 calories. Wish my weight came off like MFP says it will when you finish tracking. According to it, I should have been in 170s long time ago. Oh well. It is what it is. I seem to be taking a break from exercise right now, but will get back to it. I want to go back to using my bike for leg strength and I'm looking into some HIIT which I hear is better for bone health.

Weather is going to warm up now. Temps will be in 80s the rest of the week with chance of rain Sunday but I don't think we will get it. I'm ready for warmer weather but the problem is DH is already freezing me out with the fans and we haven't even had to use the AC yet. I definitely have lost a lot of my insulation. I know that is good but I am not adjusting very well.

Have a great day everybody.

Wannabehealthy 04-20-2022 01:45 PM

Trish, sometimes when the calorie counts on MFP are so different I Google the item and see what it says online. Then I choose the one that's closest.

My pain is low today with no Tylenol except one I took at night. That one wore off hours ago. I carry some in my purse in case I need it when out. Most of the redness and itchiness is gone too. My swollen finger still hurts but the swelling is going down. I can fit my ring over the knuckle but its still tight. I keep flexing it. I think this is all just inflammation. I'm still not taking the gout meds and I've been weaning myself off the statin. I don't know what my s doctor will say.

pattygirl63 04-20-2022 09:49 PM

Well today hasn't been my best eating day but probably not my worst. DH and I bought some stuff we shouldn't have bought because I can't keep my hands out of the package until it is all gone. I finished it out today so hopefully tomorrow will be better. No since to worry about what is done. I did do my exercise today. I actually did 20 minutes on the bike. Ended up with an 8 and 1/2 hr eating window mainly because I only ate when I was hungry.

Carol Sue, I hope the swelling in your finger goes down and you feel better.

Wannabehealthy 04-21-2022 09:58 AM

I slept good and feel good today. Much less itching and pain, still no Tylenol. My eating isn't great and my window is longer than it should be. Only my hand hurts slightly. I don't know if this is due to stopping those 2 meds or if it just happened. Time will tell.

Someone on Twitter posted an article from the New York Times that says a study shows that Time Restricted Eating or IF has no effect on weight loss. Its just that you end up eating less in the time period. They fed 2 groups the same calories, some in a restricted window and some ate freely. The weight loss was the same. Here's how I feel about it. I lose weight when I restrict my eating window. If it's because I'm eating fewer calories so be it. I guess there are people who can control their eating throughout the day but I am not one of them. I have lost more since I've used an eating/fasting routine.

Trish, I am the same way when I buy certain things. They might even be diet friendly but I overeat them. Crackers tend to do that but I've done well with the Triscuits I bought recently. Ritz crackers are a definite NO!

For a loss by time I was buying artificial crab legs for a protein snack. Now I realize they had more carbs than I thought. Not high, but they add up. I haven't bought them for a few weeks and mostly I don't miss them. I think about them occasionally but quickly dismiss the thought. I really don't need snacks. It just comes from my grazing habit which I'm trying to break.

We still keep crackers in the car for long rides but I've lost interest in them. DH brings pretzels and candy in plastic snack bags. I don't know how we started that habit. We won't starve to death if we go an hour or two without eating.
