. ., I am so glad to hear you have a potential buyer! It sounds like they are really interested, so now I guess it's depending on how their offer sounds to you and DH. I hope it all goes through. My step-son also sold his house to a friend before it was even listed. That's a lucky break.

I like the way you're eating, except I don't do smoothies or shakes, so breakfast is usually scrambled eggs for me, even though it's usually closer to lunch by the time I eat it. I'm also trying to include more salads and veggies. I like cooked veggies, but I struggle with salads. I have always been one to prefer my food to be hot or warm, ice cream being the exception. LOL

fatmad So glad things are going so well with the sell of the house and will be so nice not to have to put it on the market. I figured all that work would keep your weight down. Happy for you.

Carol Sue I eat meat but not as much as I used to. I eat eggbeaters now instead of actual eggs. I eat a big salad at lunch although yesterday I think it was too big. I also eating 2 veggies along with the salad and fish seemed to be too much for me as my stomach seems to have shrunk. I am eating more fruit that we are told diabetics can eat, but then I don't eat whole servings... just enough to satisfy. I eat starchy veggies, grains, but not all the time. However, I have been enjoying a low fat/low calorie sandwich in the evening. I do love my sandwiches. Take after DD there.

I'm happy to say my weight is down to 213 this morning. Hopefully it will be there tomorrow WI day if not lower. My motivation is the little bit of loss I see each morning on the scale.

The past couple days my blood sugar has been through the roof. I'm so upset about this. Personally, I think it's the pears. DH peels and slices them and I've had several. Otherwise, I'm not eating much different than I always do, no sweets, or bread. I'm not usually a fruit eater, but I do like pears, and we got so many from my step-son, but DH and his daughter are going to have to eat them. No more for me. I don't know what to do to get this blood sugar back down, now. I think we are going to the casino today, so maybe I can just get that salad I got before.

I know that eggbeaters are fewer points than eggs....probably because of the fat, but since that's all I eat for breakfast, I'm sticking with the regular eggs. The only way I like eggbeaters is if I have veggies cut up in them. I remember I liked WalMart's brand the best.

This morning there was a segment on the news about Metformin...that it is the anti aging drug of the future. It has so many health benefits beyond blood sugar control. So I'm glad I'm taking the highest dose possible. Too bad it doesn't help with pain. LOL

Carol Sue I told DH about the Metformin and he said "Good. I should live to be 150". LOL Good to hear that. Wish I could take it but I can't. Hopefully I will get good benefits from diet, exercise and supplements I take. Berberine is supposed to be so good for so many things as well.

I am sorry about your rise in blood sugar. I hope it gets back under control in a day or two. I do understand about the eggs. I can have the eggs, I just would rather save my pts for later in the day. I am also eating low fat now although I do include some good fats. I think some is important. I even found the Low Fat Pretzels I read about online and counted out the 39 pc 3 pts serving and had them with a slice of sandwich meat 0 Pts for a snack last night.

I found out this morning that my WI on WW is Monday. So I have today and tomorrow. However, I've always made Saturday my WI day on here so I changed my ticker. My weight this morning was 212.8. I've lost 4.4 lbs this week. I hope to be 210 to 211 by Monday morning for WW WI. My FBS was 138 this morning. I wasn't going to check it but I woke up so I decided to check it while I checked the FL weather.

I absolutely love this way of eating. I'm enjoying food and learning portion control at the same time plus I'm losing weight a little each day and BS is coming down as well. My afternoon bg reading before main meal is running 103 to 104. That is great. It has taken me sooooo long to find something that will work for me. I couldn't be any happier.

I even had an energy surge and cleaned my kitchen this morning. (Exercise)

fatmad Fingers are for the offer to be good and you sell your house.

Y'all have a good weekend and lurkers who are in line of Hurricane Irma, praying for y'all to safe. We have children, grandchildren and other family and friends in line of that thing. So lots of prayers going up for all.

Trish, my high school friend who lives in the Tampa FL area evacuated, but I'm so concerned about her home. She lives in a senior citizen complex, and it is all double wide trailers. They are on foundations, but trailers all the same. I am praying that she doesn't get a lot of damage but it really doesn't look good. She is a widow. Her daughter and family live nearby and they all evacuated, but don't know what they will come home to when it's all over. I would hate to see her have to start all over at 72 years old.

I'm glad you're having so much success with WW and I hope it continues. Your weight loss is great!! I am continuing with mostly low carb, and it's the "mostly" that's getting me in trouble. I had a piece of a sandwich today and the bread made my blood sugar go up. So I took some Glimiperide. I guess that was too much, because I didn't have any carbs at dinner, and I ended up having a hypo. I got shaky, so I tested and was at 66. That isn't way way low, but it's low for me. I ate a piece of DH's hard candy and it came up to 90. That's still low for me, but I know it isn't really a low at that point. That's why I want off the Glimiperide, and if I would watch my carbs more closely I could do it.

Yesterday, I woke up feeling very light headed and it continued all day, until I went to bed. My blood sugar and blood pressure were both good. I don't know what is causing that, but I got up feeling fine this morning and actually felt great all day until I had the hypo event.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

predictably, have been having difficulty getting back on track after a couple of off days. Having been getting take out a lot as we are too tired to cook most days, after working on the place, and I'm not following low carb enough. Today, am having friends over and will cook to my plan. that will help.
Best wishes everyone, and if the storm comes your way, prayers to you!

fatmad I'm sure you will get back OP. I understand how you feel. That is how we were when we were getting ready to move as I was just too tired to cook even after moving in. My family here loves to eat out and one thing it has done for me is that I get tired of eating out and that is good for me.

Carol Sue I pray for your friend to be safe and not lose her home. The storm is hitting that side and they will get the worse of it. DH SIL who is like a sister to me lives so close to the gulf side and in a mobile home. They have gone to her FIL because they live in a regular home. The thing about that is they went south to go to his house which means they were going toward it not away from it. They had told people on the west side of HWY 19 to evacuate and her FIL lives on the east side of it. Just have to keep all these people in our prayers. I heard from our daughter in Delray and they are already without power. Her Hubby is policeman and he had to go in to work in Ft. Lauderdale and are hunkered down at the hospital there. They will get a lot of wind and surges.

My weight was up a bit today, but I figure it was the spaghetti sauce DH bought that I added meat to so we could have a spaghetti meal. Also I caved and at garlic bread. I did okay pts wise, but had to use some weekly pts. Water, water, water today.

I made a homemade taquito for breakfast with veggies, eggbeaters and Canadian bacon on low carb whole wheat tortilla and it is really good. Only 3 pts. Even if I use 1 sl regular bacon it would still be 3 pts so this is going to become my breakfast every morning.

My niece text me last night and since her DB and his family are coming to her house today to see their Mother, it was decided to celebrate DS birthday today. I ordered a cake and will pick it up on my way over to my nieces. Since our Mama passed away on DS birthday, she doesn't like celebrating on that day so this is a good time to do it. Since my DN is vegan, they usually get veggie and fruit trays to eat. So it should be easy to stay OP. I don't plan to eat cake since I had to get chocolate instead of carrot cake.

FBG was 137 today so that is good. Won't be able to check it this afternoon before we eat. WW on FB is the most active support group I have ever been on.

Have blessed Sunday and praying for safety of those in path of Irma.

Mad, I agree with Trish that it's so tough to stay on plan in a situation like you're in right now. Too busy to cook, and take out can be a challenge. You will be fine.

Trish, I have been watching news reports all day. It seems that by the time Irma gets to the Tampa area it will be downgraded to a category 1, so maybe her home will remain intact. I think she's far enough inland to avoid the storm surge that causes all the flooding. Mostly what they are showing on the news so far are in the towns, where there are larger more solid buildings. The trailer parks are mostly on the outskirts, and that's where they danger lies with the high winds. I'm glad my friend evacuated her home, but I hope she doesn't come home to devastation. I am praying.

I haven't had a meal yet today. Just little bits of this and that, mostly all low carb. DH cooked some kielbassi, which I'm not crazy about, but I ate it. I want to make a salad now to get some veggies. I have to go shopping to get some eggs and a few other things to have on hand. This book I've been reading about diabetes keeps saying to eat <30 gm of non vegetable carb, so the salads and vegetables are not counted in the carb count, which helps me a lot, since I like to eat veggies. It says you can eat all the veggies you want. I know that Atkins counts veggie carbs, but this book is geared more toward diabetes control, and Atkins is geared more toward weight loss. I feel that I can conquer both, and it's going to take a lot to get me to stop eating veggies.

I hope you continue to do well, and enjoy the party!

I am back to normal now, ate appropriately yesterday and weight today is at ticker, so no damage done.
Trish, i found that when I ate to my points (all of them, including the flex points) I didn't lose weight. so I tried to make sure there were a few flex points at the end of the week for me. However, I was at the lowest end of the points (I was clinically obese, not overweight, so this was surprising to me) so maybe that makes a difference. I do hope this works for you.
Carol Sue, I hope you can find something that will help you too.
I finally got two nights of good sleep, after 3 nights of crummy sleep it was really needed. However, I am tired a couple of hours after waking up. DH and I will go for a trail walk. We haven't been doing that much since our dog died, and being busy doing moving things, we got plenty of exercise, but I think the fresh air and beautiful surroundings will provide something that exercise alone doesn't do for us.
We leave Friday for Prince Edward Island, and we hope the tail end of these hurricanes will not affect us too much there. But I am going for a course, and DH is coming along for fun. Lets hope we get the fun part!

Best wishes for a week of healthy eating and exercise everyone

Mad, from what I've heard, many people on WW do not eat all their points. They just know they are allowed to eat up until that point if they choose. Some days you are hungrier than others. When I did WW I never ate my weekly points or exercise points, just in the general area of the daily points. I pretty much ate the same thing every day because I didn't feel like trying to figure out the points for new foods. I never liked the points programs. I remember doing WW way back when they used the exchange program and that was so much easier for me.

My cardiologist sent me a script to get blood work done for Lipid Profile and Metobolic Profile. I don't know what brought that up. Maybe he forgot to give it to me at my least visit and just realized it. I stopped taking my fenofebric a year ago and stopped the statin a week or two ago. Now I am going to start taking the statin again and see what happens, because I don't want him to panic if my cholesterol is high. I started back on it two days ago. Last night I woke up with leg pain. I got up around 4 and took Tylenol and went back to sleep and I am pretty good today. If the bad leg pain comes back, the statins are gone. I'm not going to live just sitting in a chair just to keep my cholesterol down. I want a quality of life. My cholesterol was never extremely high. I think it went to 226 when they started me on the statin. That's higher than they like it, but some people have it in the 300s or 400s.

My weight is holding steady. I know what I need to do to lose. It's just getting myself to do it on a regular basis. Every time I overdo the carbs I need to take the Glimiperide. That raises my insulin, and insulin stores fat. It's a viscious cycle.

Sounds like things weren't as bad as they expected in mainland FL, but bad enough. I hope there wasn't much damage to people's homes like they had in TX. It seems that the Keys got the worst of it.

I heard someone say on the news that the wetlands are there naturally to protect the mainland, but it became built up because people want to live nearer the water.

I just tried to sign in to Half.com and found that it has closed. It was part of Ebay, but sold mostly used books, CDs, and DVDs. I have bought a lot through them. I am really disappointed, but there are a few other good resources for used books. I wonder why they closed, especially since Ebay is still going strong.

fatmad I hope your trip will go well with no hurricane problems. I haven't heard anything about Jose. Last I saw it was going out to sea not hitting much land. I certainly hope so.

Thanks for the idea about saving pts. I never used to use all my allowed pts and even now I end up looking for something to eat to use all my pts and this past week I used a lot of my weekly pts which I never used to do. I will go back to eating the way I used to instead of eating all the pts allowed. I always liked saving some of those pts especially the exercise and weekly pts for any errors in counting regular pts. I don't always know which pts to count on some foods and like to allow for that.

I don't like Monday WI and notice that it doesn't show the weight loss. It just looks like I'm starting from today's weight. I will continue the Saturday WI on here because I eat a little more on Saturday &/or Sunday since that is when we seem to do family gatherings especially since DN and her hubby moved here. My WW WI shows that I lost 2.6 lbs which is considered a healthy weight loss and is still a loss. The only good thing about tracking it on WW is that it will show when I need to cut back on pts. I actually read where one member of WW on FB tracks her food on both WW & MFP. Where that would be helpful would be to get the nutrition counts from MFP to put on WW since they don't seem to have all the brands etc that MFP does.

We did DS birthday yesterday while her son and his wife were here. I ended up getting the carrot cake because when I went to get the cake I had ordered no one was around. So I just picked up a regular carrot cake and left. Weight was up a little today because they had pizza for lunch however, I ate part of a slice because I don't like pepperoni. However, since I got my favorite cake, I ate a small slice. Filled the rest of my plate with raw non starchy veggies. The plan this week is to eat less starchy carbs and go more with the 0 to 2 pt carbs and protein. I like the fact that WW leans more to lean protein, fruits and veggies. I still have the tendency to keep the fruit servings at 2 or 3.

Carol Sue So sorry you are still having the leg cramps. I hope you figure out the problem soon. Do you have a cardiology appointment to get your results after blood work? Might be good to see what is going on.

I hope your friend and our family and friends made it through the storm with little to no damage. I do know all ours lost power; haven't heard from any of them as of yet. Saw SIL posted on FB this morning, but he is in law enforcement so I'm sure he is working. I hope to hear something about DD and DGC from him soon.

Well, this is my only day this week without anything I have to do. The rest of the week will be busy. DD has urology appointment in the morning at 8:30 so have to be there around 8 am. DH has a post op appointment with eye doctor tomorrow afternoon. Wednesday afternoon is Consultation for Sleep Apnea test for DD and monthly CHF appoint Thursday. Would love to do nothing Friday morning, but people come to clean DD apartment and he likes to be gone while they are there. I hope DD and DS will decide to come on this side of town. Makes me tired just thinking about it all.

Have a good day.

Trish, even with WW Points, I feel that "don't eat if you're not hungry" still applies, so I wouldn't look for something to eat just to get up to the daily points. You are correct to assume that those extra points will fill in somewhere along the line where you miscalculate. You are doing well, just the way you're doing it.

I see my cardiologist twice a year. I think my next appt will be around Dec, so I will be sure to get the bloodwork done before then. I have to check to see where to go for bloodwork now. My insurance this year says that I will have zero copay if I go to a free standing lab. I think the place I usually go is considered to be part of the hospital. If so, I will have to go to Quest Diagnostic. I prefer the place I usually go, but will go where it saves me money.

I feel very good today with little pain.

I don't have anything planned for dinner today. I think I want to go to Bob Evans. I always have % off coupons for there and they have several things I can get that are on plan. I want to make stuffed cabbage rolls tomorrow. I consider them to be on plan even though they contain some rice.

I'm going to email my FL friend and hope she lets me know when she is able to return to her home. I think she reads her email on her phone, and it will depend on whether she was somewhere where she could charge her phone, since most of FL is without power. It's hard not knowing.

I am happily back to below ticker today, and will re-adjust if that sticks for the rest of the week.
The HOUSE is SOLD. They came back with an offer better than expected.
So no dickering back and forth. We will just accept the offer.
Now to stick to plan for the next while! and life will be really good.

Carol Sue, I agree, if the statins seem to be the cause of leg pain, they are not useful. You could speak with your doc, there may be another one that won't cause those symptoms if the cholesterol is a problem. I took my father off of his, at his age, they are not helping much re cholesterol and with his bleeding problems, just not worth the risk. but each person has to decide with their doctor what the risks and benefits are for them.

Trish, good luck with continuing with WW. I think you could fold in what you have learned with intuitive eating.

the weather is a bit warmer here, so will be out and about to enjoy it.
