The weather has been beautiful this weekend ,,,,I'm outside drinking my first morning coffee on my deck. Tastes so much better! Enjoy your day everyone
|
Oh man, the weather down here has been amazing the last week or so. Florida rarely gets a spring. It goes from surface of sun hot to freezing. We may get a mild Fall? But Spring? It's usually 90 by now so I'm digging the 70's.
Even with a 3000 calorie binge, I got down to 195 on the dot last week. Since I'm not doing keto anymore, I'm working the whole MFP thing and after figuring up my net calories, I realized I was still in a pretty good deficit. I wasn't bad at all this past weekend. I ate at maintenance on Saturday and ate my fitbit calories back yesterday so I was still in the green. I bought a really pretty feminine dress that I would NEVER have worn 50 lbs ago. And I feel that it both looks good on me and is comfy. It's a Junior size 15. :D Hope you ladies have a GREAT day! |
A junior size,,,now that's motivation!!! Nice going Ficklehearts. I still bouncing here so my goal this week is 2 measly pounds. I have a Drs appt in 4 wks I need to drop a few pounds. She's never commented on my weight other then congratulating me on my weight loss,,,kind of don't want to disappoint her this time...strange to say that but it's how I feel. Off to enjoy more sunshine
|
Enjoyed a weekend with friends in the sun. Lots of walks, out on the deck in the sun, and didn't snack. But due to the bread with meals, got the runs pretty bad. Thought I would return home lighter than when I left, but alas no. I assume the alcohol did me in. Well thats done for the next while. It wasn't a lot, but enough to affect weight.
PA, glad you have been enjoying our spring as well, this is great. Fickle, I am so happy for you to be losing. I am definitely having problems in that department again, but i can have a little jealousy but also be happy for you. Trish, enjoy your visit, hope you can choose everything you like for your house and have a good visit too. hello to everyone else, have a good day. |
Good mirning, all. Sounds like everyone is doing well. Fickle, you are getting the award for the biggest drop of the week. Congratulations!
p.a. we have had nice weather lately, too, but it's too early for 70-80 in PA so I don't expect it to last. I have been doing a bit of intermittent fasting. Putting off my first meal and stopping eating after dinner. So I have an eating window of around 10-5 or 6. Believe it or not, I have given up my bedtime fried egg. I'm almost used to not having it now, although the first couple nights it was hard. My blood sugar hasn't been effected, I'm sleeping much better going to bed on an empty stomach, and I'm down a couple pounds. Nothing earth shattering, though. My doctor changed my BP meds and my systolic dropped 20 points. All is right with the world. LOL |
Hey CarolSue - I have a coworker whose Dr. told her to quit eating after 6 (due to digestive issues). She swears it makes her feel 100x's better and she's dropped about 10 lbs doing it. I'm glad you are doing great!
And thanks for all the grats. :) It's been a tough couple of weeks so I'm pretty happy my few mess ups haven't overly caused too many issues. I'm 6 lbs away from my mini goal of 180's in May. /crossingfingers. I'm seriously ready for our vacation. Work has been so stressful lately. At this point, I think I just want to sit in the condo all week and rest. No phone, no net, nothing but tv and good company. Alas though, I still have 5 weeks to wait. And apparently I've lost my mind. I'm getting two guinea pigs to add to my zoo. Sheesh. |
Quick flyby. Will get back here later.
We decided to come on back home once we got everything done that we could do concerning new house. We were able to walk through the custom built one we took our plan from and although it is much smaller than this one, I really like it. We got home last night around 8ish. I was so exhausted that I only unpacked and put things away. Decided to wait and do laundry this morning. Hang ups in the dryer and folding clothes in washer now. I was surprised to find that I actually lost 1.4 lbs while gone and my FBS was 103. So I really did good while gone. Will read and get back here later when I get all my chores done. |
Carol Sue Glad you have found what is working for you. Sounds like the new BP meds is working too.
Fickle Congratulations on getting close to your mini-goal. Mad I had bowel issues on my trip as well. I'm think mine is caused by too much fat. My niece came up to see me while I was at her Mothers. She has the same issues I have taking Metformin. I learned from my niece that her doctor told her to take Metformin with her largest meal of the day and to eat half of her meal, take the Metformin and then finish eating the meal. She also told her to keep Emodium pills on hand. Her doctor said at first sign of diahrrea to take 2 and then 1 with each issue there after until it stops. She told her that you cannot take too many. So I now keep a bottle of them in my purse. I'm not sure what sets mine off unless it is the fat, because I had Egg McMuffins for breakfast on trip without any problems. She said milk and fat causes hers. I thought it was the fat in the milk, but muffins have milk in them and it didn't cause any problems. So I'm not sure; just have to stay prepared. My Daddy has his low moments, but he seemed to perk up since I'm moving back home. We spent the night with my other sister and her family on the way home and they are moving back by the end of the year. We are all excited about getting back together and hope to be home by the holidays and at least have Christmas together this year. Now the work starts to get things ready so we can sell the house. I'll catch all of y'all tomorrow. Have a great day. |
Trish, sound like you had a good trip and the weight loss was definitely a plus! Good for you! I think you might be right about the fat causing the problem. I have always raved that the Metformin doesn't cause me problems, but in the past couple weeks I've been buying bacon and today I realized that each time I have bacon I have bathroom issues. I just never made the connection before. I don't think it's the Metformin, but maybe the combination of the Metformin and the bacon. So after this pkg is gone, no more bacon.
I don't take my Metformin with food. I take my first dose first thing in the morning, and my last dose at bedtime. Other than when I eat the bacon, I've never had any problems. I guess pride wenteth before the fall! LOL |
Bowel issues are fine now that we have been home a few days.
Not sure if my pissy mood is from tiredness, or work issues. I feel like people are purposely ticking my off. I am trying not to be reactionary, but in general my patience wears thin. Is this getting older, or justified? I have trouble figuring it out. Its weird that folks are so nasty, since things are relatively slow right now. I mean, what gives? grrr. Weight still not moving. Will see how things go this weekend. I hope to work outside a lot. |
Morning, Mad I get like that to but not as much as I used to now that I'm post menopausal. My late dh would always know when I was PMS ' ing.... Everything bugged me.
Trish nice going on losing weight while away!! Glad the house is what you expected Carol I'm going to go back to IF again ,I felt better I'm running out the door, got a great swim in yesterday and today a nice walk ,ttyl. |
I've noticed lately that met only messes my tummy up after I eat something fatty. I cooked pot roast on Tuesday and an hour after eating it then and last night, I had issues again. Due to work again, eating one meal a day so it had to be the pot roast. And to be honest, I am beginning to adjust to this one meal a day thing. If anything, it frees up my calories for the weekend since I just can't seem to keep it together. I guess it's my own modified version of IF.
Down to 194 this morning which was completely unexpected. :carrot: Fatmad - sorry you were in a rotten mood. I feel ya. I was in one yesterday afternoon and was snappy to everyone. If losing patience gets worse as you get older, I think my hubby may want to rethink our marriage. Hope you feel better today. Work sucks and is likely not to get better for the near future. I got put over a project that is turning out to be time consuming and a lot more stressful than it should be because my boss micromanages everything. My sewing machine is broke and I have all this fabric for like 10 projects to do and now I have to buy another machine. And then I ruined 2 yards of fabric because apparently I don't know how to measure or trace straight lines. Sigh. My BFF came over because her washing machine was broke to borrow mine and she brought her kids/my godkids, whom I do love to pieces, but they are both teenagers and moody, and so yeah you can get the picture. I swear if my kids (if we ever have em) talk back to me like hers I'll end up in jail LOL. I seriously sometimes contemplate if I even have the temperament to be a mom. And to top it all off, my mood is PMS related. I hope and pray I end up like my mom and my grandma and go through menopause in my 40's. I'm 36 now. Losing weight has tremendously helped with PMS symptoms, but I am still crazy dragon lady the week before and week of. :( God bless patient men and good friends LOL. Glad your liking your new house Trish. And I'm sure moving near your dad will help with the grieving. It sounds like you all are going home so to speak. CarolSue and p.a. - hope things are going well! And sorry I unloaded. I does feel good to let it out though LOL. |
fatmad Glad your bowel issues are over. I think we just have good days and bad when it comes to our moods. Not sure what sets things off. Sometimes it is caused by others and some days it just happens. I hope you have a good day today.
Carol Sue and p.a. I am doing IF with WWSP mainly because I want a cut off time with my eating. I am doing a 7 ro 8 hr window of eating, but just might work my way back to the 5 hr window. I did so well when I ate within the 5 hr window. It does help me sleep better and my bs liked that. I think that is because that is how I ate growing up. Fickleheart Congratulations on the 194. You are doing great. If I could do 1 meal a day, my weight would just drop off, but haven't been able to do that in years. It is interesting that many of us are learning that we have bowel issues when eating fat. I will not go FF, but I will do lowfat. I am not doing low carb at all. I ate pretty much what I wanted on the trip, but I didn't overeat except 1 time. We even ate out at 2 different Chinese buffets. I do good at that because I ate mostly protein and veggie choices and I also use the IE rules for eating and I did not allow myself to get full. I really enjoyed it. My Daddy loves Chinese food and we went to his favorite Chinese Sunday. I found it easy to eat OP. I ate what I wanted while on the trip, but watched my portions and I was amazed that my FBS and weight loss was so good when I returned home. So I am going to continue eating as I did on the trip using WWSP and IF and see how this works for me long term. Have a great day. |
Fickle, sounds like you are going through a funk and just have to go through it and get over it. That happens to all of us sometimes. You can come here and vent anytime. LOL
It's funny about kids. I have a friend who has two. They are spoiled rotten, she is in credit card debt up to her eyeballs because of their demands, but she won't change. She thinks they are such good kids. Well I'd be good too if someone was giving me everything I wanted. Ha Ha. They have no reason to do otherwise. Then, she tells me how she can't stand other people's kids. I guess you don't see that in your own kids, what you see in the others. I was lucky that PMS didn't exist for me. Having TOM was just another day, and menopause was the same. Very uneventful. If I lived alone I could do one meal a day. My problem is I can't do without my eggs for my first meal, and DH can't do without dinner. So I have at least 2 meals a day. Trish, I really don't understand how you can eat carbs. Maybe you are not really diabetic, but pre-diabetic instead. I am not saying I don't believe you, but I would never have a decent blood sugar if I ate carbs. Or I would be all hyped up on meds. You know, many low fat items have added sugar. I think there's a different between eating full fat products and eating high fat, which is intentionally adding fat to your food. I don't know what's wrong with me today, I feel as if I'm being so argumentive. Dont mean to. Just trying to figure things out in my head. Like talking to myself and answering myself, too. LOL |
Carol Sue I don't eat many foods with sugar in them... trying to stay away from processed foods. I'm cooking foods from scratch with very little added fats. And most of my carbs are from veggies and fruit. Even in the Chinese restaurants, while I did eat some foods with meat and veggies I purposely stayed away from anything made with sugar.
I also used some sugar free products as well. It was WW friendly and seemed to have worked for me while on our trip so I figure why not go with it here at home. I did a 6 hr IF window of eating today. Great day. I'm on a roll so I am going with it as long as I can and hopefully make it a habit. |
