Morning everyone
Glad you made it Trish!!
I'm heading out again Thursday to Sunday...have to go back to my hometown to pick up the rest of my stuff from my house. It's a 12 hour drive each way....going to be a very quick trip but I'll be glad it's done.
It's our thanksgiving this weekend to. Since I'm away we will do our dinner another weekend.
Weight is crazy up after camping...was hoping to stay on track but was so hard with such good food around. Back at it today. I have 2 weeks to get this excess off....Drs appt coming up.
Been so much cooler to I'm moving more!,

I am taking a break to get some energy in me and then get back to work. I hope to have a lot of my kitchen boxes emptied today. I can't cook until I get my pans unpacked. Also need to go to the store.

We waxed and cleaned everything before the move. Dishes that were wrapped etc are fine, I can just put them in place, but the furniture we waxed looks like we never touched it. Not happy with the mover results either. They broke two wheels on the stand we use for bedroom tv so we had to take those off. Might could replace them but once the Dh and DBIL put the tv on the table without wheels, we will never move it again. God help us I hope we never move again. They also broke DH newest tool box, but my DBIL thinks they can fix that. They wanted to get back on the road so they just started putting boxes in the garage or wherever they wanted to put them so now the boxes are mixed up although they are labeled. DH just found a garage box in the living room. I picked that company because they had no negative reports on them on BBB. You can't even trust that any more. Oh well. Everything else has gone fairly well so far. DH is upset that some areas are so small in the house, but I try to tell him that is what happens when you downsize to a 1820 sq. ft. house from 2465 sq. ft. house.

Man from Dish will be here in a few hours to hook the tv up for us. I liked a lot of things about Directv when we had it, but supposedly we can record more things and get all the stations DH likes as well as some I like although I'm not a big tv person. I spend most of my time reading either online as well as books. I think I need to stop reading diet books.

I lost 4 lbs moving, but I'm not changing ticker until I know that it is real and lasting. I've had accidents out shopping the past 2 days and I'm not taking Metformin. Since I had no problem traveling, I'm thinking it is either the cheese/dairy things I've overdone since I've been here. I'm taking it easy on my stomach today. I told DH that until I get my stomach straightened out that we need to eat after we shop so we can come straight home. I'm wondering if it is unfiltered water. We mostly used bottled water on the trip, but it isn't unusual for me to drink water in the bathroom that is unfiltered. My sister reminded me that I'm also using new pipes so I might should stick with the filtered and bottled water for now.

Well, my dryer is calling me. I can't miss it now as it is next to the kitchen and so is my living room. I'll catch y'all tomorrow.

Hi Trish, I'm glad to hear you are in your new house and getting settled in. It's probably a big change for DH to downsize, but I think he will get used to it in time. It's possible that some people had problems with that mover but didn't report it to BBB, so they would have no record. I'm sorry to hear some things got broken, but I'm glad it wasn't worse.

I haven't figured out what causes my bathroom issues. One time I did take my morning Metformin and did have a problem, though. Even when I only take it at night I have an occasional problem, but not nearly as much. That might be because I don't eat as much in the morning. I would rather skip the med than eat more. Now that I am back to eating more veggies I am more regular. You could have problems with the water just adjusting from the two different locations. All water systems are different. We buy bottled water, but I still drink a lot of tap water. If I drank only bottled, we would have to buy it a lot more often. One time DH put a filter on our kitchen tap, but the first time he went to change the filter and saw what was in the filter he wouldn't use it again. Now he drinks only bottled, except for making is coffee, and I use tap water for cooking. I don't think our water is bad.

p.a. you have had a very busy summer. That's good. It keeps you out of trouble! LOL I am so jealous that you are having Thanksgiving this weekend. I would cook a turkey, too, but the prices don't go down around here until closer to our Thanksgiving. I love turkey. I buy parts occasionally but it's not the same as a whole roasted bird. In the meantime, I'm eating a lot of chicken. The restaurants around here are starting to serve a lot of turkey dinners, too, and we get that sometimes. Still not the same, though.

Just a quick check in. My sister and I will be meeting Daddy at Whataburger for breakfast. They go M-W-F so I will be joining them now. However, as soon as I get my house where I can, I will have them here for home cooked breakfast and healthier too. But for now, I will go with them.

Getting things in place is slow as I have too much stuff from downsizing. DH wants to get things straightened up nicely so we can have company and work on the rest more slowly. My niece and her DH were here yesterday and we all went out to eat. Last week another niece and her little boy were here. Ran into another niece at the tax office when we went to have tags switched to TX. It is good to be home.

Didn't keep the weight loss, but my weight has stabilized at 226.4 and I'm trying to get back OP. DH found the pans to cook with and my dishes. We went to the store and I now have food to start cooking again and for us to eat healthy again. I bought a lot of raw veggies to eat it with dip or in salads.

I better get ready to go. I want to look up Whataburger and see what I can get and stay on plan. I'm trying to follow WW guidelines although I'm not counting points at this time.

Have a great day.

Trish, I think it's a great idea to have your sister and dad come to your house for breakfast. I looked at the menu for Whataburger and nothing looks too healthy but it's nice for all of you to get together.

I just realized you will have to find a new hairdresser. That's a shame, since you went to the same one for a while in NC and were such good friends with her.

pattygirl63 10-12-2016 12:05 AM

Carol Sue Actually, I get scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage no bun and coffee at Whataburger. It works nicely. And I really enjoy having time with my Daddy and sister.

Actually, I go to the same hairdresser that I went to before DH and I married. In fact, she came to my wedding the day we married and did my hair for our wedding. Her mother (now deceased) was one of my best friends. She was the one who did my hair every time we came to visit my family. So it has worked out great.

I called today to see if we can get a doctor. Hope to get with a clinic not that far from our house. It seems no one takes new Medicare patients this time of the year. Hopefully we will hear something tomorrow.

I had forgotten how much has to be done when you move to another state. We had to get our car inspected last week, get insurance for this state in order to register our car and get car tags today. Hopefully we will be able to get our new drivers license tomorrow or Thursday. They recommend not going on Monday or Friday and not to go during lunch hours as most people go then. Would have gone today, but my hair looked crappy.

House still has a lot of work to be done, but we are starting to be able to see the floor. So things are getting better.

Hope everybody is having a good week.

Wannabehealthy 10-12-2016 11:22 AM

Trish, that's what I usually order for breakfast, too. Nice low carb. It sounds like you are getting a lot taken care of. I know there are a few states that don't require automobile inspection. PA does, and DH has his hands full with 3 cars. He does all of his own work so they keep him busy. The 3 inspections are due at different times of the year, though. In the other house we did not have a garage, so that made it harder for him, but now we have a garage and all the tools.
