hey snoopysgirl - it's so great to see ya here!
your workout sounds great! YOU GO GIRL! this morning I got up at 5:00 am and did 2 fast miles with Leslie Sansone from her 5 mile dvd :carrot: I FEEL GOOD :carrot: |
WTG; I wish that I could get up that early to exercise; You rock!:D
I did a session in the technogym today. I doubled my sets from 1 to 2 and upped my intensity on the cardio. |
way to go Snoopysgirl!!!
hey, I was wondering, what is a "technogym"? I got up at 5:00 this morning and did 2 miles with Leslie. I used 3 lbs weights during the 2nd mile :carrot: |
i just did 2 fast miles
now I gotta hit the shower and get to work :-) |
Hi Cathy, it's nice to know somebody is keeping me company at 530AM when I exercise too....Since January 2, I've been doing my rebounder, and interval training......I'm not ready to jump on the scale....(TOM), but the tape-measure says I've lost an inch on my waist and .5 on my left thigh....I'll take it. My HR is UP, I'm sweating through my tee-shirt and I thought i caught a glimpse of my WAIST in the mirror.
I haven't exercised regularly since last May...(family member illness and its getting worse not better), but I felt like a physical sloppy mess, out of control in my head and really missed it....It was hard at first, but now I'm getting in about 20-25 mins. of hard cardio and wts. sets every day. even 15 mins. helps my mood. If I don't exercise first thing in the morning, the day gets away from me, at night I'm too tired. Hi to everyone else too! |
I usually work out around 9 or so in the morning. It gives me enough time to get the kids fed and my joints warmed up so I don't injure myself, LOL. I woke up earlier than usual today, (so I thought, hey, why not a change of pace), sooo... I got up so early this morning and went to the Y to work out before the family woke up. I was there about 15 minutes or so before they opened so I, along with about ten other cars, sat there and waiting. It was so weird.. all these cars sitting in the parking lot waiting for the Y to open at 5:30 am on the dot..and when the clock hit that magic number...all these car doors opened and it was like Black Friday, LOL..j/k. I was a little tired though..and I ended up forgeting my key that I needed to log my fitness info..I did the workout anyway. I didn't enjoy it as much because I had to manually set everything. I am going to hold off weighing in again until next week. I am getting a little obsessed feeling with weighing every day..now I want to weigh several times a day and that is just nuts. Once a week will hopefully do the trick from keeping me thinking about it too much, likely Monday or Tuesday
Yesterday I did water aerobics and then tried to do Zumba. This was late afternoon/early evening. The water aerobics were great but I just felt exausted for Zumba. I left 45 minutes into the class. I don't know if I was just wore out because it was so late in the day, (around 7 or so).. I may have to tweak my schedule a bit. I feel like if I wait until later in the day I get a bit more out of my work out. Who knows. I am willing to experiment. In any case, I feel better when I am exercising, even a little bit, each day. |
hey gang! y'all are doing great! so glad we are exercising together!
Snoopy - I haven't heard of Zumba before you mentioned it so I just did a search on it. Man I love the music ... so it's like dancing to latin music? how long is a class? you said you left 45 minutes into it? how long does it run? and do you take this class at the Y too? Marbles - I also have to get in my exercise first thing in the morning. That's what works for me. and I also feel "out of control in my head" when I'm not exercising. I find that when I start my day off with exercise then I tend to make much better choices all throughout the day. I think part of it is that I don't want to waste my good efforts in exercise....know what I mean? Or maybe it's like Leslie Sansone says...."one good choice leads to another". Glad you are back to exercising. I hope things get better. I got up early and did 2 fast miles from the 5 mile dvd. :carrot: |
I did 28 mins. of interval training (wts. & cardio) at 6AM....I turned on the "dancy" music station on my IO cable.....(one of the 950 stations I have and never use), it works REALLY well with the rebounder routine and the time flew by.
so pat me on the back....I've exercised 10 days in a row. (last month it was only 8 days before I threw in the towel) thanks cathy and snoopy, I don't know what a techno gym is either, I thought it was something you bought for home use........ |
:bravo: wow marbles that's AWESOME :bravo:
:cp: 10 days in a row!!! :cp: YOU GO GIRL!!!! :cp: :congrat: they don't have a little smiley that pats you on the back but here's a high five just for you girl :high: |
I bought the Zumba DVDs from Collage....I gave them to one of the Latino sec'ys at work (she was getting annoyed by Denise Austin's voice)...I thoguht she might prefer Baeto, he was easier on the eyes.
I just couldn't get the hang of it to get my HR up high enough to have a good workout session.....the rebounder is better for me, I'm unbalanced (in more ways than one) so i keep the stability bar on to help me stay upright when I'm moving fast. I could NEVER do those moves on hard ground, my joints/back would probably shatter into tiny pieces. but now I can keep my HR elevated to the 140s, when I get winded i move to wt. sets, step-ups, side squats, taebo arm movements....(the cats do not care what I look like and I keep the curtains closed)....I also dry my clothes on the stability bar while I'm at work. |
Oh it's so quiet in here.......
Day #11 of exercise.......28 mins. of interval training again at 6AM. (shhhh, I'm enjoying it....) |
hey gang
I didn't make it out of bed in time yesterday to exercise before work but I just finished 3 miles today :cp: I just added it up and I've walked 17 miles for exercise so far this month :carrot: I'm also doing better with getting in more water. Like I said before, I find that when I exercise first thing in the morning that everything else seems to fall in place better :) |
hey? where's the rest of my exercise buddies???
I got up at 5 and did 2 miles....even tho I didnt feel like it ;) baby it's cold down here brrrrrrr but I sure felt better after I exercised |
Day #15 of exercise, I didn't slack off this weekend (but I wanted to)
sat. 28 mins. of cardio/wts. sun. 26 mins. of cardio/wts. mon. 25 mins of cardio/wts tues. 25 mins. of cardio/wts. I have so far to go, but results are noticed in the torso from a side view. |
Day #16......23 mins. of hard cardio....it's mighty quiet in here.....
|
hey gang
i had to drag myself out of bed this morning but i did it :cp: and got in 2 miles |
Day #17----34 mins. of Cardio/interval training for me.
cathy if you DIDN'T get out of bed this morning and exercise, I would have come down there and dragged you myself........(although you are a bit far to go before work). However, LEENIE is MIA from here and she's NOT too far from me.......depends on the traffic. |
LOL marbles!
you are just toooooooooo cute! it helps to know that you'll keep me accountable! you are doing great!!!!! |
Day #18.....32 mins. of cardio/push-ups(ihatethem)/wts. sets. along with a heavy dose of morning caffiene to boost me out of lethargy.
My reward? NOT gaining and I've lost INCHES....it's not a big victory, but there is less of stuffed look....I'm aiming to be consistent in the exercise quest. The only thing standing between me and Nirvana is my laziness...... |
ooooooooooohhhhhh i'm here today :cp:
I just finished 3 miles. :dancer: I used Leslie Sansone's 5 mile dvd and did 1 fast 12 minute mile, then an even faster 10 minute mile with some jogging (yes I did it) and then the 14 minute mile with 3 lb handweights in each hand the whole time. She mainly uses them during the 2nd half of that mile but I don't feel like I'm doing much so I use them the whole time - and make the workout my own. I'm up to 24 miles so far this month :carrot: |
Saturday---did 30 mins. of wts. cardio
sunday--took off Monday--38 mins. of interval training, cardio and heavier wts. I've done 20 (count 'em 20!) workouts this month. I can see an improvement in that stubborn mid-section, but it's a major problem....I NEVER had a thick waist before, it's a challenge. |
:bravo: Marbles :bravo:
YOU GO GIRL.....YOU ARE DOING GREAT! I was up and out of that bed at 5 am this morning and did 2 miles! whoot! |
I finally woke up on my own before the alarm went off at 5 this morning!whoot!
I did 3 miles this morning :carrot: did 2 fast miles and the 3rd mile with 2 lbs weights in each hand the whole time :lifter: |
workout #21---43 mins of cardio and wts....I'm pooped out, took off 2 days this week
|
workout #22---obviously I'm talking to myself , no one else is posting about their exercises?
cardio/wts. 47 mins. at 6AM! yawn.... |
workout #23-----36 mins. of cardio (rebounding) and wt. sets....
I'll have to talk to myself AGAIN???? |
I got in my new Leslie Sansone Walk Slim dvds and I can't wait to get started on them.
But I had to CLEAN house today. I just finished - took me 6 1/2 hours. So that is all the exercise I can do for today. Marbles - :bravo: you are doing GREAT!!!!!!! :bravo: |
Monday, workout #24---54 mins of cardio and wts. (pant, pant). I'm going to try for 3.5 hours this week....
this is my 5th week of commited exercise....I've made some progress since the beginning of the month, but the results are NOT instantaneous. I'm trying to look at the "big picture" and be realistic. I'm not going get firm and toned tight for another 6-8 weeks and need to get in more than 4 hours a week. But there is definitely less jiggle, less mid-section and I'm getting much stronger, can lift heavier wts. and have more cardio stamina. so i'm satisfied with the progress and still feel motivated! |
workout #25.....all by myself again, 30 mins. of cardio and wts....., I felt my hamstrings screaming along with my inner thighs.... deadlifts and plieas.....
|
Hello Marb, how ya doin" ...why fine thanks for asking marb,.....
Workout #26---40 mins. of hard cardio and wts..... this is too *depressing*, I'm outta here. |
