;) Marble, your chores sound like a pretty good workout to me. And you're welcome to come clean my house any day. Maybe I'll do better when I have cats, but right now I hardly ever clean anyhting.

This morning the fire alarm in my building went off at 5:30 in the morning. No fire, but since I was awake and it was fairly cool out, I got up and went for a nice slow run/walk, about 4 k. It's the first time in months I've even tried to run, and it felt really good. Of course now my right foot is throbbing in spite of ice and stretches, but I'm determined to get it fixed and be able to get out for a run a few days a week. (Perhaps "run" is a bit of an exaggeration. More like a slo-mo jog.)

Now it feels like the weather is hotting up again after 2 days reprieve.

Enjoy a good day's rest tomorrow before you have to go back to work. Anyone who works 50 hours a week AND has two cats and a dog deserves a holiday.

Carla :goodvibes

I was chuckling when I saw Carla's signature....unfortunately, the *other Karla* is from the same area where my family is.......I remember the big discussion with my cousins when it happened....

marbleflys 07-18-2005 12:27 PM

Thankew! I am determined to make some progress this month too. with the disgusting sticky hot weather in NJ I don't bother to do my hair with the blow-dryer and hot rollers, I just slick it back into a twist...so I have *extra* time to exercise in the AM.

marbleflys 07-19-2005 12:22 PM

Tuesday---33 mins. of wts.. abs & rebounder aerobics. it is so HOT in NJ, its disgustingly sticky.

cathyxxx 07-20-2005 09:08 AM

I got up at 4:30 this morning like a little ole lady.
Just woke up and started thinking and couldn't get back to sleep.

marbleflys 07-25-2005 10:33 AM

Last week's total exercise hours: 2 hours and 53 mins.

Saturday and Sunday: Heavy-duty cleaning and moving furniture (construction starts tomorrow)!

Monday: 25 mins. of interval training (me and Gilad)!
Cathy,
I saw Leslie Sansone's WATP, walk/job DVD at Wallymart for 10.00.....is this a good one? Since you are Leslie's younger counter-part, do you think I could fit this routine to my mini-tramp? (I HATE the rebounder DVDs that came with the thing) thanks for the info.

cathyxxx 07-25-2005 11:23 AM

Marble - congrats on all the exercise!!!!! :cp:

I love both of her new videos - Walk & Jog and Walk & Kick

Are you asking if you could do the Walk & Jog on your mini tramp? I've never tried a mini tramp - I guess you could do the walking and jogging on it??? but she does do side steps and stuff - don't know if those mini trampolines are wide enough for that - surely you could adapt the moves tho.

Or if you are asking about doing the video along with your other exercise - I would think it would be good for you. The Walk & Jog is much faster than her other stuff - it is 2.5 miles in 30 minutes.

I think you can watch a portion of both of these videos at www.collagevideo.com

Let me know if you get any of them and try them. I really like mine!

hugs,
cathy

marbleflys 07-25-2005 01:37 PM

yeah, I would just do a different side move on the tramp. when she does hers....

maybe I'll try it!

cathyxxx 07-26-2005 10:12 AM

Marbles - definitely let me know if you try it! I will be curious to know how you like the video. I'm wondering - as hard as you work out - if it will be enough of a workout for you - but really it is the most fast paced thing she does.

Also - you mentioned I was her "younger" counter part. hehe I'm not sure about that - I don't know what her age is but I will be 46 in September. I kind of think she is younger than that - but of course - she looks great so I just can't tell.

But thanks for the compliment anyway. I have gotten to where I like to be called "younger" ;)

Ok - I did a 30 minute 2 mile WATP video this morning

July Miles = 22.5

hugs,
cathy

marbleflys 07-27-2005 04:28 PM

Yesterday, I tried to stick with my routine, but it's a bit difficult with them ripping down walls and ceilings....I gave up at 20 mins. and switched to housework.....I attempted to powerwash the outside walls/windows, but gave up, it's the humidity not the heat.

cathyxxx 07-30-2005 07:13 PM

cleaned house for 5 hours today

carla49 07-30-2005 09:37 PM

Holy scrub brush Batman, how does she do it? Five hours cleaning! No wonder her ticker moves...

Leenie 08-01-2005 12:33 PM

August Miles = 2

marbleflys 08-02-2005 10:53 AM

I'm back in focus from last week where I just gave up with the construction.....

20 mins of interval training with perky Gilad......

marbleflys 08-03-2005 10:40 AM

30 minutes of weights and rebounder.....pant, pant, pant.....

carla49 08-03-2005 11:15 AM

A 50 minute bike ride (flat, no hills, about 12 km.) This getting up in the morning is amazing!

marbleflys 08-04-2005 10:24 AM

Thursday: 31 minutes (hey that's 1 more minute than yesterday!) of aerobics and weight sets.....plus abs on the stability ball, I don't count that as time exercised because I'm such a klutz. I was able to do high intensity cardio for 2 sections of the program. I'm shooting for a target of 3 hours this week.

marbleflys 08-05-2005 12:12 PM

Friday: (gee it's lonely on the exercise VERB).....35 minutes rebounder and weights, plus abs on the stability ball.
(I'm up to 12 mins. of intense cardio, my aerobic capacity is improving a bit)

cathyxxx 08-06-2005 10:06 AM

sorry Marbles - just haven't gotten to it the last few days but

I just did a 30 minute 2 mile Walk & Kick dvd.

August Miles = 4

marbleflys 08-08-2005 11:31 AM

Saturday: 42 mins. of aerobic and wts. Week total: 2 hours and 37 minutes
Sunday: 21 mins. of Cardio and abs.
Monday: 15 mins. of Cardio (I overslept)! I seem to be meeting my personal July resolution....I won't weigh/measure myself so I don't get discouraged, but I broke down this weekend and just measured my upper arm (down to 10.5") and left thigh is now 22.0"......Where is my WAIST?

marbleflys 08-09-2005 10:17 AM

Tuesday: 27 mins. of strong cardio. and abs..... (10 mins. of throwing the clothes that still don't fit me around the room)

cathyxxx 08-10-2005 10:07 AM

Wednesday - did 3 miles this morning

August Miles = 7 (is that all - I better get myself in gear) :tread:

marbleflys 08-10-2005 12:16 PM

Wednesday: 33 mins of hard cardio and abs.....(too hard, my HR was over 145, I'm not burning fat then, just sugar....whatever!) has anyone seen my waist?

marbleflys 08-11-2005 11:16 AM

Thursday: 35 mins. of FIRM cardio, hamstrings, glutes, lats and bi-ceps.....pant, pant, pant....where is LEENIE who started this thread??????

marbleflys 08-12-2005 11:00 AM

Friday: (hmm, I seem to be talking to myself on this thread, where are my compadres who want to exercise?)

36 minutes of hard cardio and intervals of wt. sets.....I *think* I see less poofiness mass, my aerobic capacity is increasing and I'm able to do longer segments of intense cardio, I try to add on about a minute per day...it doesn't sound like much, but it adds up and it pleases me that my recovery HR is much faster than 2 weeks ago......
