I don't know if I'll make the ten pound loss by Halloween but (pat on my back) I finally made it to the gym today for a great workout! With that done tomorrow will be a lot easier. Why is it that exercise is such a chore for me? I always feel great afterwards. Oh well, at least I've started back to the gym.
BTW Congrats!!! To all you who are losing and have lost. Way to go gals!
sugar-I'm the same way.Once I'm able to actually get myself to go to the gym that first time.. the hard parts over. I like going after that. But if I take a few days off..Its hard to go back, even though I enjoy it.
Hi everyone! I doubt that I will make my 10 pounds by halloween, but I will get as close as I can. I am increasing my exercise to 60-100 minutes per day. I don't go to a gym , I have my workout equipment staring at me so when I am just sitting here I can easily be working out (well if you count easy as telling the kids to stay off the bike/tread/weights.
todays planning:
BF slimfast shake and coffee
lunch egg salad no mayo, side salad, 1 oz baked tostitos
snack: fruit smoothie with protein powder
dinner: 1/2 chicken breast, 1 cup broccolli, 1 cup brown rice
snack: banana and walnuts.
exercise: 20 minutes stationary bike, 20 minute pilates, 20 minute treadmil, 45 minute walk
Well the tuna steaks turned out okay. I liked it, DH was not a taker. Oh well I get to eat his leftovers later on this week. I think is was the tuna being rare for him that he did not like. That is how the recipe said to cook it though. I liked it and it had a good flavor. Who knew tuna had flavor, I didn't. But eating canned tuna with ff mayo and pickles doesn't really qualify as tasting the tuna, but hey I still like it.
jasmine: That was a long day on the bus, I feel for you. You need to take a break!
jcatron: I usually average about 60 minutes at the gym Mon-Fri and then just some neighborhood walks on the weekend if I am up to it. I figure the weekends are my days off to recoup.
neesy: I agree getting back to the gym after two days off is a struggle. It is an accomplishment in it's own right.
Without snooping around the 3fatchicks site to see if there is a thread up on this, I was wondering what sort of rewards systems you all use to "help" you along the way or if you use one at all.
Jcatron- what sort of egg salad do you eat w/o mayo? Do you use something else? Your menu looks really healthy. wtg! Your exercise amount is great. I sure can understand having the kids "underfoot" as I'm a homeschool mom of 3 kids. They are all older (youngest 10) but I don't really like working out in front of the family..hehe Yesterday I took DD to the gym with me. We are both going to have a go at it and DS said we should go jogging together.. haha. Can you imagine ME going jogging? I told him we could walk together though. Maybe today I'll walk a bit with him. He's all for me losing this weight. DS is 12yrs old. He feels quite at home telling me when I look like I've gained some weight and supporting me in losing it.

Hi all. Its been a while since Ive posted. I was for busy for my sons party. Ive been losing weight okay and Im just trying to get back to exercising since I was away at my dads and couldnt get too much in. Dh said he would reward me well with my weight loss instead of spending that money on weight watchers. I get 5 dollars for every pound I lose. I will get myself a nice fuzzy robe or blanket when I get to my exercise goal. And when I reach my final goal weight I want a jean or maybe a leather jacket. I also have a little sticker chart that I put stickers on for every pound I lose. Rewards really help me. Hope you all are good.
sugarbaby: for my egg salad I use 2 hardboiled eggs, 1 tsp mustard, a bunch of chopped up pickles, onion and a little bit (maybe 1tbsp) of pickle juice to help hold it together. And my reward: when I get to my 50 pound goal my husband is buying me something from victoria secret (that he picks out, I hope Im not in trouble)

Well my biggest reward is really just knowing I am getting healthier! That I will live along time! My hubby is constantly telling me how great I am doing and how good I look. Every once in a while I will go buy a few new things(clothes). I can't wait til x~mas time I plan on getting some new things then and then again next spring! I can't wait til I get all this weight off! I feel so much better already. I still do a treat meal once a week, sometimes I slip and it is twice. I decided about two months ago that I allow myself to have one big cup of coffee a day! Eating the way I am I really don't mind. I still have my tacos and enchiladas and burritos. I just innersperse them with chicken and veggies!
Jcatron just keep doing your best! You'll eventually get there!

Okay ladies well i am kind of tired. I walked about 90 minutes today and am doing well with my eating today. Been messing around with the fitday and I think i am going to hit around 1700 average cals for the week. Not bad. On one hand I want to do 1600, but then I remind myself I lose 2.5 on 1850! I also dont want to cut too soon, etc. My hubby is working the nasty 10-7 shift tonite so dinner wont be til 7:30, *sigh* I HATE that!

Yay today is my day off!! I am going to strictly clean house, eat well, and exercise!! (well I do need to go get milk). Yesterday my meals got a little messed up I ended up barely eating 1200 calories. But at least I got in 1200. (yesterday should have been 1400).
Planning for today:
BF: protein shake and coffee
LN: 1/2 chicken breast, salad,
Sn: Fruit smoothie with protein powder
Dn: Turkey Burger patties with gravy, brown rice, broccoli (I think)
Sn: popcorn
I keep thinking I want soup but I don't really want to go grocery shopping. I guess I do need milk. HMMM

Thanx hun that is what I try to do. Like yesterday I had my smoothie for breakfast and then at 12:00 coffee and a pb sandwich, at 3 I wound up having my slimfast and then around 5:30 i had a cup of beans(no cheese ) Then dinner was around 7:45 and i had 6.5 oz of chicken breast (w/ lime herb marinade)and 1 cup of sp rice(wheat) with some salsa on it and .50 a cup of broccoli and .50 a cup of carrots. Wound up at 1657 for the day with fat % at 19. Not bad! I was pretty upset this a.m. to see the scale still has not moved! I want to get to 217.50 on Sunday! Or at least 218! Maybe I goofed by having my "lunch out" to early this week? I am sure the pizza didn't help! But It is still .25 pounds down so i guess that is some loss. I still have today and tomorrow and saturday too so i know I will lose. Its just you hit a stall and you freak! Ya know? I am going to walk two hours a day til then if that is what it takes! I will lose this weight this week! POUNDS BE GONE!!!!

How did it get messed up? I know what ya been about trying to get enough! I know I could go lower these next few days but I dont want my boidy to think it is starving either! These are my cals so far. The 1530 is the tentative for today if i don't change anything again. Then if I do the two days after at 1550. That works out to an average of 1690.71 a day so that sounds good to me.
My plan got messed up because I had to take a test for a job I am applying for. I planned my schedule perfectly so I had time for breakfast, give the kids a bath, take kids to nana's, get to the test, pick the kids up from nana's, get home and have lunch. Of course I got online (but I scheduled that in to), but the bathtime took longer than I thought it would, neither kid would cooperate at getting dressed time, . . . so I was just going to grab a slimfast shake that I keep for emergencies and run out the door. I forgot the shake and so I had to wait until after the test. The test was scheduled from 10-12, but it didn't start until 10:30, so I was done at 12:30. Went to pick my kids up, I was so hungry, then Nana wanted to sit and chat. 1:30 I left nanas starving so I grabbed something on the way home, Chicken Strips, Onion rings, potato salad. My girlie ate the Onion rings, my sonny ate the Potato salad, and I ate 4 chicken strips. Not too bad, but even with the higher fat content, my calorie count was already low. I didn't eat what I had planned, but I didn't go overboard either. I just underdid my calories for the day (I was trying to make up for the high in fat chicken strips, but when I figured everything in I was at about 1000 calories, so I grabbed some extra fruit to kick it up to 1200.
Your average sounds great!! I am happy when the scale moves at all!
I sure hope that today ends soon...I have finally finished all the deadlines for work and they are ready to go out UPS, now I can sit back and breathe. I don't have many stressful days at work, but when they come they are the worst. Did make it to the gym this morning for an elliptical workout and then did some ab work. Wouldn't be nice to someday see some stomach muscles, well I can still dream right! It is suppose to rain again tonight, but I am hoping to take the dogs for a walk and then clean clean clean the house.
jcatron: I like to put fat free manynaise in my egg salad when I do have it. What I like the most is eggwhite, spinach, and mushroom salads. Don't stress you did fine with your meals today...no onion rings or potato salad. Sometimes life just happens and we have to deal. I like to keep a few ziploc bags of dry cereal or fruit and nuts in the car for emergencies like that. Although in the hot summer it is not possible. I sure you did well on the test too.
jasmine: your calories look fine to me. I try and keep my calories around 1500 all the time and then of my free meal days I don't care but I still always log them to give me a reality check. It is amazing how many calories I used to eat.
sugarbaby: In my dayplanner I put a little heart sticker if I workout that day. When people ask I can tell them and it makes me feel good. Also I have pictures of myself on the refrigerator when I was the heaviest at 198lbs and when I was my lightest at 130lbs. It is a reward for me to think that all this hard work actually does pay off and not to grab DH's icecream. New clothes are also a big reward for me too.

I know I just get freaked out and if I am not losing think I need to reduce the cals. I should be lucky that pigging out monday didnt cause me to gain! Remember the nacho bell grande then later two pieces of pizza and crazy bread? SO I didn't weigh myself on tuesday but did on wed and it said 220 and then today the same so I should just be happy I didn't gain! 3 days is plenty to still get down and I already went for 50 minutes today and am getting ready for a 60! I know it will work. Arrrgggghhhhh!!!
Well at least it is rare you have a bad day like that. I would of been starving for sure by 1:30. It is a wonder you didn't binge!!! Having snacks in the car sounds like a great idea!

That is great you met your deadlines! I don't know how you do it trying to balance work, house and health and fitness! You are doing awesome! I still got stuff I need to finish with the garage but it takes time, especially when the trash man only comes once a week. (Trying to get rid of stuff left by ex)

I know what ya mean and it is amazing to see how quickly things can add up! Even an 8 oz soft drink is 100 calories! I remember some days downing a whole 2 liter!! That is 800 cals right there! I am so glad I don't drink sugary soda any more. It is just not worth it! I think the cals look good too. I just think things got screwed up when I had my treat lunch to early in the week. Like if I normally lose 2.5 pounds a week....weigh in is sunday. Sunday is always my red meat and potato day even though I stay with in an okay cal range, then if I normally have a few good days maybe I lose a pound by wed? Then eat out friday and lose another pound and a half by sunday? So I think I just did it too soon and now I have to play catch up with the being good. I also really should of waited for the pizza. I already splurged with pizza on the 6th so i told myself now only once a month!!! We'll see what happens come sunday but I just know I am going to be a happy girl!!!
Thanx for the support ladies! I know I will lose!! I also had to stop and remind myself that I have already lost 8.5 ppounds this month alone! That is a great success!!
I am so glad I stopped drinking soda!! (well I do have a little bit of diet coke now and then) But I was drinking it alot. And even though it was almost all diet, I drank it A LOT!!! I am now drinking lots and lots of water!! I am addicted to it.
