I just wrote out a long old reply then lost it all!!! Anyhow, well done everyone!! Thanx Fiona!!

I am down to 221.25 this a.m. as well! It looks like I may hit my halloween goal by this weekend if I play it smart. I can't wait to see how much everyone else loses!!!

I know jcatron is already in a turkey day challenge but I was wondering who else would be up for starting a turkey day challenge This Sunday? Cause that would give us 1 month til turkey day and then another month til x~mas?

Let me know!!

Sounds good Dolly! I was thinking some girls may have less to lose and aren't up for 10 pounds in a month so maybe we will have it be a choice. Like the 5-10 pound challenge! lol

Okay so I felt like I was on a binge yesterday. The day started off bad with no fruit for breakfast, as my usual. I wound up having a serving and a half of baked fries around 10:30, a slimfast around 12:00, coffee before noon! But I was still hungry so I had a half sandwich witha tsp of pb and was still hungry so made half more. I had made some chicken in the oven for the enchiladas but when it was done cooking I wanted it!! I told myself to go ahead and eat it, instead of binging on something else1 So I had 5 oz of that. Then I felt fine. I kept stalling on my walk so didn't wind up going. The hubby came home I didn't even feel like cooking. So he made hot dogs for the kids. I had one huge hot link in a tortilla with mustard. Later I had a bagel with 2 tbs of FF cream cheese.

My cals ended up at 1672, fat was 32%, carbs were 43%, protein was 24%. Still not bad considering I was off track. The cals didnt get too high and the fat wasnt too bad. I am down to 221 this a.m.

Today is supposed to be my eating out day so I will go at lunch. I WANT to get 1 more pound off before sunday!!! I need to walk this off!!

Well Im at my dads house again. Which caused me to gain back all the weight I lost last time. Im determinned not to let that happen again. Im here for my sons birthday party so it isnt going to be easy but its just a few days. Yesterday I ate more than I should but Im gonna take this as a new day. Im all for a turkey day challenge but Im gonna wait till halloween to decide how much it is I would like to lose. Maybe 5 pounds or so. LOL what day is thanksgiving even on. And does anyone plan on sticking to their diet on turkey day. My one weakness is pumpkin pie so I already plan on having a couple slices.

Well set limits with yourself at your dads. Use fitday and decide what to be bad on! That is how I plan my days. Like if I am going to have cheese then I will keep it to a minimum and not have pb too etc.

Turkey day. MMMMMMM.... I am going to look in fitday sometime to see just how bad it can be. I LOVE pumpkin pie too! I love mashed potatoes and I love rolls with butter!! I usually have pots twice a week. Once on my out to eat day, unless we are doing Taco Bell and once on Sundays. So I will probably count that day as my sunday. If t day is at my house which it probably will be I will just maybe limit the deserts for everyone! I will have one slice of pumpkin, maybe tell myself I can have one more slice of something else a few days later.

Jasmine you still had a good day calorie wise. I do that sometimes as well, if I don't plan I am done for. That is why going out of town stressed me out sometimes. DH and I are going to Austin this weekend to visit friends and I have decided that saturday night is my splurge night, but what about Saturday and Sunday at breakfast and lunch.

SarahMahfoud maybe try and get a brisk walk in the morning, that's what I am planning to do over the weekend.

My whole goal for the holidays is to continue to lose weight, but in reality if I don't just gain life will be good and then there is those New Year's Resolutions. It's the pecan pie and green bean bake that gets me.

I'm frustrated. I lose weight in a weird way. I'll weigh the same all week and then I'll lose 3lbs overnight. That is what has happened for the past several weeks. I don't lose weight gradually. Its all of a sudden there's a 2-3lb weight loss. Not that I'm really complaining, but it makes it hard to figure out what I'm doing right or wrong. Do you think my scale is just messed up?

Congrats on the loss. I don't know what to tell you, but I have heard that when you lose the weight it comes out in your urine or sweat.

Sunday! I am going to go for a long walk today, I may walk the mile to work, although I will probably catch a ride home because it will be after dark, but we'll see, Maybe I will ride my husbands bike.

Anyway I am having a great weekend so far we took the kids to the pumpkin patch! It has been a tradition in our family for quite some time. (In fact last year after our trip to the Pumpkin Patch I went into labor with my son!)

I posted this in the calorie counter fourum but,> I have had a rough couple of weeks eating and exercising. I don't know why, I keep coming up with all sorts of reasons/excuses. After my initial weightloss, I had a 3 week stall then I started losing again, but I keep going over my calorie limits. Now I am not binging (for the most part) I am just eating 200-300 calories over what I have been, and I lost 2 pounds this week! I know this happens to a lot of us here, but I think I may have to up my calories! I haven't been really hungry until this last couple of weeks, but I think my body is telling me something. So I think I am going to add to my average calories, I am still going to calorie cycle, but I think my average will go from 1450 to 1550, I was thinking about going to 1700 but I think that may be too much too soon. I am going to keep my workouts where they have been :40-60 minutes + my 45 minute walk 3 days a week.

Planning:
BF: protein shake and coffee
LN: tuna salad no mayo, mixed greens salad, 1 oz baked tostitos
Sn1: fruit smoothie with protein powder
DN: Grilled chicken sandwich, 1 cup broccolii, (I may also have V8 juice)
Sn2: 1/2 cup of ice cream

I am so proud of you for being able to put that past you. I think that is why so many people fail. when that happens to me I just say, oh well, lets move on! You never fail unless you quit trying! I can't imagine working around all that! It must be tough!!!

That is true. I did do pretty good! Okay sat and sun at breakfast and lunch, just tell yourself you need to be good! Will it hurt to have 2 splurge meals? I know for two weeks in a row I had two splurge meals in a row and I was still fine. But I still have alot to lose and I also try to make up for it with an extra walk. Be strong! Just think of losing pounds and how much funner that will be than eating!

You know what, just eat a smaller portion!!

Neesy that can be very frustrating! I know back in July this year before I started cal counting it just felt like hit and miss. I wouldn't weigh daily but every week or so and it just seemed sometimes "miraculously" 5 pounds would be gone! So I just thought that maybe my body only loses once every few weeks! But when August hit and the whole month I only lost 1 pound I knew I needed to get structure! That is when I decided to start cal counting and really focus on walking the 1700 minutes a month!(In july I had done 1730 and lost but In August slacked off to only 1000 minutes and lost only 1 pound!!!) Have you seen the link for the womens nutrition calculator? That has really helped me! I started cal counting roughly in the beg. of Sept(but didnt still know how many cal I should eat) I lost though! I went from 238 on august 28 down to 229 by sept 30!!! A plan had formulated and I was losing once again.

Sept 28, I found fitday and have used it every day since! It is really helpful for me to keep track plus plan what I want to eat every day! The womens calc gave me a great guideline of what my maintenance cals are and what my maint cals are when I walk 60 minutes a day. That helped me figure out how many cals to eat and it has been working like a charm.

I was

228.5 Oct 1
226 Oct 8
223.5 Oct 15

That was 2.5 pounds a week!!! My average cals for one week was 1880, and another week average was 1850! Yes still high!! But I also exercise app. 60 minutes 6 days a week and am still heavy(so I have more to lose). This last week due to being sick my cals averaged alot less than normal. I actually took 2 days off but wound up walking an extra 60 minutes yesterday to make up for it so still 6 days of 60 minutes. I just added up my cals for last sunday thru sat and it was a total of 10,971 cals for the week, divided by 7 days is an average of 1567.28 a day. Okay the results are in ladies! I jumped on the scale this a.m. and it says 220.25!!!!!!!!! I am super excited!!! This means I lost 3.25 pounds this week! So shaving off those extra cals helped me to lose .75 more pounds this week. I think it was worth it! I think I am going to try to keep my average at that next week too!!

Everybody it is weigh in day!!!!!

What is that all about? lol

That is great sweetie!! i am so proud of you! I know you weigh alot less than me so i am hesitant to give advice, but I think 1450-1550 is a great idea! Just keep an eye on it weekly!! I am thinking of doing my average at 1550. I am also of the train of thought that drastically reducing cals dont help. I am still getting plenty to eat and not be hungry and am losing! Have you ever read Glory's journey? She got down to 140(she is 5'7 ) and plateaud. She was disappointed after a few months but delighted that she was at least maintaining. She went back up to 1700-1800 cals I believe, slowly and wound up losing down to 127 over the next 6 months or so! You want your body to think there is plenty of food! That is when it lets the pounds fly!!

DID I MENTION THAT I AM DOWN 3.25 POUNDS THIS WEEK????? I AM SO EXCITED!!! THAT IS A TOTAL OF 8.25 POUNDS JUST IN OCTOBER ALONE!!!!!! WE CAN DO THIS GIRLS!!!!!!!!

Congrats Jasmine!

I've been keeping a log of what I eat and I jog 3.5 miles a day.. I have lost over 10lbs this month. So I should be proud of that. I just get frustrated when it stops coming off so quickly.. haha.. I just have to stick with it and not give up. I'll get there eventually
