  • I have given up regular soda all together too. I tried to have drink the other day during my cheat meal and it was like drinking sugar. I do have a my vice though in that I allow myself one diet soda at lunch each day and now sometimes I even forget about that. I just don't have the craving anymore. I know this is weird, but I like my mouth to be clean and regular soda and candy makes it feel sticky. I know I am weird.
  • I agree with ya dollie! It is like the less we have bad things, the less we want them! If I goof and take a drink of my hubbys when we are out to eat it tastes like pure sugar syrupy! Once in a while I still do get a craving but not often and I don't give into it. When I was working last year for dominos I delivered pizza and would stop at the liquor store at nite and get a small bag of chips and 1-2 snicker bars. I felt like I was addicted! Thank God I have been able to break that and I have probably had 1-2 candy bars this last year since improving my health. I really don't crave them any more. I think part of it was boredom too. You're in a car and you want to munch! I still do get cravings for pie once in a while, not ice cream though really. The only kind of ice cream I crave sometimes is the one that comes in a waffle cone and it had chocolate coating on the outside dipped in peanuts pieces. But I have not had one of those in like 6 months either. Partly cause the generic ones they sell at the liquor store I am afraid one wouldnt be enough and Id want more.

    Anyhow ladies I did very well on my eating yesterday too ,, didnt even want to finish my sp. rice so I just pushed it awat! Wound up at like 1430 cals or so AND I walked 100 minutes yesterday! But I still have not lost any more!! I am frustrated!! I dont want to cut my cals any more cause I know that wont help me plus I need to be able to cut them later as well!! Right now for the week this is how its looking:

    25 1657 = 7211/4 = 1802.75
    26 1423
    27 1550
    28 1550
    average of 1676.28 a day

    So if I stick to 1550 today and tomorrow. I am upset and dont know what I am doing wrong!!!

    My hubby thinks I am gaining muscle. Maybe I am. I have been walking more. I need to look back thru the month and see how many minutes each week etc. But I know this week I am walking more, more often than not.
  • Jasmine, you have done so well all month. You aren't doing anything wrong! I think you have been losing at such a quick pace that this slow down hit you hard, thats all. I know the first week I didn't lose anything I wanted to give up!! It will come off, don't worry. You just cut back on your calories didn't you?? I would stay at the new level for another week, if you don't lose, go back to where you were losing.

    Remember how great you have done!!
  • Sweetie I know you are right I am just getting frustrated and my body feels slimmer, maybe I am gaining muscle since I have been walking more. I already did cut the cals from 1850 to 1700. Last week when I got sick my cals averaged like was it 1550? I hope that didnt mess me up!

  • Jasmine I agree with jcatron and your hubby. You have been doing great and maybe your body is gaining muscle. But you do know that muscle burns alot more calories than fat. I try and do at least 20 minutes of weights three times a week. I can definetly notice the difference in my body, it is like it has a new shape. I have started to see curves.
  • That is great dolli! My hubby and I are always checking out my body at nite! I am always saying, "I can feel a lil bone! Help there are bones there!" He always laughs and is like they are supposed to be there! I know my one left leg it hurts a lil bit off and on, not really during the day but at nite when I go to sleep. the upper left leg. We think it is just the muscle building and everything is getting so tight! We can feel lil ribs here and there! My outside legs are getting so tight! It's just the inner thighs I'd love to shape up too. I just need to be patient and not be so scale obsessed! My hips are getting curvier too and my butt is trying to leave! It is still going to be a big butt even after i lose so it wont go to far! Is that were you are getting curves too?

    TOM is on its way so I want to eat eat eat. I have allowed myself some extras the last few days because I know if I don't I will regret it more later when I eat an entire bag of Reese's peanut butter cups!!

    Today:
    BF: protein shake and coffee
    LN: chicken sandwich and mushrooms
    DN: chicken, rice and salad
    SN: low fat low cal Ice cream

    Where o where do I find fish recipes? Good ones? No carbs/sugar? Got any ideas what seasonings to use?

    I have lost 4 pounds this week and that was the best I've ever done in ages! In fact I'm so pleased I'm going walking in the morning even though I'm coming down with this lousy cold thing.

    My hubby and I are going to do the 6 week body makeover to jumpstart my diet. It's pretty strict but it has carbs, protein and veggies and fruit. No dairy or fat though. I'm all for it cause I need a serious kick in the beehive... if you get what I mean. I started exercising too and I'm proud to say that it works... haha.. ya think?

    I have been sooooo busy this week I just haven't had chance to get online! I have just read all your posts though, and you are doing so well, well done!

    Dolly, I am the same, just cannot drink regular soda anymore, its like shovelling spoons of sugar in! Same goes with a lot of crisps (chips in the USA I believe!) - I used to be able to eat packets and packets in one day - I had a packet the other day, and the fat just stuck to the top of my mouth all day! Not pleasant!

    I have been weighed, and lost 2 this week, which I am really pleased about! 8 pounds on this challenge has been great, and thanks for everyones encouraging words!

    On to the next challenge!

    Have you tried recipefinder.com? That is so great!! I am so proud of you!!! Whoohooo!! Don't forget to change it in your profile under your user name!! It sounds pretty good. I like that it has carbs protein and veggies but is it lowfat or no fat? I do believe our body needs some fat and some nutrients need fat to be processed believe it or not! Yes exercise defo works!

    Thanx hun!!! That is awesome!!! You are doing great!! I started my turkey challenge just two days ago if ya want to join us!

    Well ladies we are nearing the end!! Only 3 more days. I think we have all come along way and I wanted to thanx every siingle one of you ladies for all the advice, support and encouragement. I know I could not of done it without you! It has been great to be able to log on here every day and be with women who share the same struggles, who get excited even if it is a few pound loss, or even just half.

    Well for the stragglers, weigh in day is today!!! I stepped on the scale today and it is 218.75 So it is not the 2.5 pound loss I hoped for this week, but it is still 1.50 pounds. I will accept that! So that officially brings me to 9.75 pounds this month! Hooray! ( I entered my weigh in on the first as 229, but it was actually 228.50 , I didn't want to fool around with half pounds then but you know what? I will take every .25 pound I can get!! )

    I am really excited and ready to start a fresh week! Yesterday we went to Denny's and I enjoyed a nice dinner of steak and shrimp and baked potato, with butter and sour cream and a salad! I should of stopped there but they brought two small rolls and I smeared all the butter on those two! Oh well. I feel I deserve it! So I really wasn't expecting to be down another .25 pounds this morning. hehehehehe I will have to log it all into fitday today and find my average cals for last week. Ill do that later. Everyone enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

    Oh by the way, we went shopping yesterday just to get a few new things and I was able to get a pair of 18 jeans!!!! They do say stretch, so they do have a bit of give in them but they are not elastic or anything!! I wanted to get a black pair too but they didn't have any! I bought one sweater and a few new blouses as well.
  • Jasmine you might get down that extra.25 pound by tuesday!!! As of Wed(my last weigh in day) I have lost 6 pounds so far on this challenge. I will weigh in officially on Wed next week ( the day after halloween) I hope to be down but because TOM is coming I doubt it. I am still cool with it. 6 pounds in one month beats nothing!!

    Today:

    LN: Tuna salad no mayo, 1 oz baked tostitos, small salad
    Sn: fruit smoothie with protein powder
    DN: Chicken, brown rice, broccoli
    sn: .5 cup ice cream

    exercise: 60 minutes of walking
  • You are doing great! 6 pounds is alot esp. since you dont have as much to lose as I do. WTG! I can't wait to see what it says by wednesday!
  • Okay ladies I am at 158 today, so I met my 10lb goal! I am so happy! I haven't seen the 150s in a long time. I am going to put in some extra at the gym this week b/c I have going on vacation for 10 days the following week and my goal there will be to maintain. The weather has been so nice these couple of days that the outside is just calling me to go walking!

    jasmine: congrats on 1.5lb lost. Your meal at Denny's sounded good. DH and I are going to Red Lobster tonight for dinner for shrimpfest, he favorite. Those cheddar bay biscuits are calling my name!

    jcatron: 6lbs is 6lbs and this is great! I bet the scale will be down a little even if it is just a half pound on Wednesday. You have been working so hard. You exercise alot more than me! I am still finding it hard to get more protein in my diet. I feel like I am constantly eating eggs, meat, or beans, this coming from a former carb addict. Bread was my best friend!

    Fiona: Congrats on the 2lbs lost, way to go! Isn't a great motivator to see the scale go down!
