Default Good Monday Morning (If there is such a thing!)

Well, boss just left for a few minutes so I have some time to check in. He's had me hopping so far all morning which is so not fair on a Monday, but i guess I can't complain because this is the only day he will be in the office. Weekend was okay. Was totally off track on the foods I ate, but I didn't eat too much to totally ruin any efforts I may have made since the beginning of the month. No official exercise in, but I spent all day yesterday cleaning house and doing laundry (laundry room is in the basement, I'm on the 3rd floor and I did about 6 loads). Got some exercise in with bf Saturday!!

I sat down last night and planned a menu for the whole week. Woke up late this morning and didn't have time for breakfast or to make my lunch though! So I grabbed an apple for breakfast and will stop somewhere for a sandwich at lunch. There is a Subway a couple blocks down, but I don't really like their sandwiches. I'm sure I can find something satisfying yet healthy! I work downtown so there are places all around me.

I have to walk to the Courthouse today - which is about 7 blocks away and I plan on doing the WATP when I get out of work. I also have about 4 more loads of laundry to do so I will include that in my exercise.

Last night I also sat down on my computer at made charts - food journal, exercize chart, weight and measurment chart. Have the forms all on a disk so I can better keep track of everything. Well, I hear boss coming back. Already had a chance to read through and will try to post at another free minute!!

Morning! What a weekend! Mom & I had a great day on Saturday, and today, I'm a little fuzzy (new perm) but feeling really good.

Mom gave me a new pedometer, since I couldn't find the one I bought earlier this year. Chances are it's packed away with excess stuff in storage...so I have a nice, shiny new blue digital pedometer from Mom. Woo Hoo! I've got to figure out how to program it this morning, so that it calculates the mileage as well as the # of steps, and it even lets you program your weight in, so that it tracks calories burned. Wow!

Breakfast this morning was a Zone bar, and diet coke. I've got my first glass of water in front of me- I was interrupted earlier by the same dang client who held me hostage on Friday. I want to tell him that there's nothing else I can do, and go bother the person who promised you she could meet your ridiculous timeframe. Not me.

Lunch today is homemade chili, and brown rice. Sprinkle a little fat free shredded cheddar cheese, and total yum!

PM exercise- 2 miles WATP, minimum. We'll see if I am up for 3. Monday nights are usually Upper Body weights & resistance bands, too, but I know we have food shopping to do, and I have some catching up to do in schoolwork. I'll have to find a way to get it all in.

I've got to get a little more of that training pre-work done this morning, so I will check back when I can.

Missed everyone this weekend- I sure need my "grounding" and check ins here!

MsRD- Woo Hoo! Wonderful weigh in there, chickie!

Birdie- Way to go! That # is going to keep on dropping! Yeah!

Elisha- glad you had fun at the concert. *Love* Ben Folds. Great suggestion for adding the weights/resistance training to November's challenge.

Aquareggie- unless you went on the bender of a lifetime & packed in 7000 extra calories, the 2 pounds could be fluid in the muscles, PMS, PostPMS, humidity, water ratained from a little excess sodium- don't beat yourself up just yet.

Julie- LOL- I just posted a "stop" message to close out the "old" Halloween thread. I'll have to go read... Hope you had a great time in Chicago!

Mmmmkay, back to the daily grind....

Jennifer, it really shows how much you all influence me when I am 'on my own' on the weekends. I felt like I totally blew it. Walked in a local festival and in the mountains picking apples but for the food intake no discipline hardly at all. How could I be so stupid? Weigh in is tomorrow and we shall see how much I gained.

I hope to post later. I think I got my heart rate too high on the treadmill just now and feeling kinda wooozie.

Donna

P.S. At least I earned two activity points again.

Just a quick check in -

I'll try to get back tonight, but I can't guarantee it - I have 2 sick kids and a sick husband...we got no sleep last night...I'm a zombie. I've been to the pediatrician's office this morning...and 2 of the kids are on breathing treatments...And I have to drive to Atlanta to take my 4 year old to a check up this afternoon....

No telling if you will EVER hear from me again!! LOL !

I'm sending you all positive & good thoughts!!

((hugs))

Default Monday Morning!

Actually, it's afternoon already! The day has whizzed by and I haven't accomplished a thing here at home! I woke up late, got dressed, got DD dressed and b-fast and then we scooted out the door, dropped her off at school, I went to work for 2+ hours (I was quite productive there, however!) and then picked her up, home, made/ate lunch and here I am!!! Phew! The house is a mess, but it may just stay that way until I can get some other things done around here (inculding exercise!)

Sounds like we all should have started this challenge today instead of on Friday! But I guess it was incentive to really try harder...which I didn't! The weekend was a writeoff for me as I just ate whatever I wanted to! Blah! It was ok, though...walking was great in Chicago! I'm pretty sure I got at least 5 miles in between Saturday night and yesterday! At least that's what I'm logging in! Yea!

DD turns 5 this coming weekend, so I need to get some shopping done for here, however she did make out pretty good this weekend in Chicago! We hit the Borders book store clearance racks...She's happy with all the books and stickers she got! Hubby found a Tai Chi DVD/book set for only $7.99, so I am going to check that out later today! They had Yoga and a bunch of other ones too for the same price, but no cardio DVD's! Anyway, my plan today is get some computer work done (I'm working on a Power Point project for DD's adoptive group...they all turn 5 this month) and then some housework and then workout! Hubby will wonder what's up when he comes home and the house is trashed!! Oh well!!!!

I'll come back later and comment! Hugs to all of you who keep me going daily! Thank you!

Good afternoon everyone - need some help here. I was just giving a look to my food in fitday and have come to the realization that I NEED MORE PROTEIN. My carb intake is practically doubling my protein intake. Anyone have any good protein ideas for me? Thank you in advance for your cooperation!!!

I've got a bad attitude going on here. Since the scale was up two pounds last week, I've been feeling hopeless and thinking, WTH, why not eat a bunch of junk food? Even though Jessica's right and it probably was fluid rather than fat. Forming new habits is all a mind game, and I've got to go back to winning.

Hey... this is a different thread!! I have not been with it for a few days.

The mountain keeps erupting, but it's taking forever for the BIG eruption that we're waiting for. It's having a small-medium steam eruption right now, which is what woke me up at 10:15, actually. Even though we're about 150 miles away, you can still hear the rumbling in the earth. Very creepy.

Weekend was pretty good. Saturday we did a bunch of nothing, then went up to my parents' new place and hung out for a couple of hours. We had Quizno's for lunch... and this you should be proud of me for. I actually went into the place to order my own food. WOO!! I had 0 condiments, and it was on whole wheat bread. I've still got half a sandwich left, which I intend to eat for breakfast.

Sunday it was somewhat icky at work -- busy but a pain... dinner was lasagna. Calories yesterday came in at around 1200, I think, but that's okay.

Today is relax & sleep day for me. I'm going to try to force myself to run my 2 miles this morning, just to get myself moving. The rest of the day is going to be painting (just feel like it), working on some xmas crafts for the bazaar, and probably reading or something like that.

Food today is actually halfway decent!

B - leftover sandwich from lunch Saturday
L - package of cream of wheat w/ an apple
D - Chili w/ cheese & some chips on the side

Well, I'm going to go watch the volcano & have some fun! Keep it positive and have a great day, chickies!

Default Protein Ideas

I always struggle with this because you need to watch the fat too! So here's some ideas for you!

Deli turkey slices
Mozzarella cheese sticks
Any kind of chicken, beef (low fat), fish, or pork
Eggs (hard boil a bunch of them and just eat them as a snack!)
Cheese (in moderation, of course...I'm a junkie, so it's hard!)
Tofu (I haven't found a way to like this yet!)
Any of those soy meat products (like Boca or GardenVeggie)
Protein Powder (it's not cheap!)
Cottage cheese (it's easy for me to buy the lowfat or fat free!)

One of the things I do is to cook up a bunch of chicken breasts at once, cube them and use them for salads, you can freeze them too.

I also like to make Quiches. You can make them with just about anything...veggies, cheese, seafood, etc. We also eat a lot of Taco Salad around here because it's easy and we like it! Make sure you drain the fat and then rinse the burger after you drain it! Gotta get rid of that fat!

Hope this helps! Good luck and if you have any great recipes, please post them to the recipe board!

That's exactly what I did this weekend...had a WTF weekend and just ate whatever/whenever! But you know what??? I really don't feel any better for it! In fact, I found myself thinking about what I was actually doing each time I would go to put something in my mouth...unlike before when I would just do it and NOT think about the consequences! I know that I am going to have **** to pay at the scale tomorrow and I'm only pissed off at myself for it!

You are so right about the mind games...it's all in the mind! We must do the things we don't think we can do! Over and over and over!! And soon we will succeed! Let's make this a good month starting today! I don't want to fail anymore, do you?

well I am finally back on track today. I took the weekend off which is odd for me but I checked in on my weight and I stayed the same. Today I am back to working out. I did my power90 video this morning and will go for a walk later on tonight. Need to get some in so figured why not. Ya know?

Ok, so today didn't turn out exactly as planned. Does it never? Not for me.

I actually ended up sleeping all afternoon, which is good. I needed it. I feel like I haven't gotten to relax in weeks. So today I did pretty much nothing. Calories came in at 1788, which is actually under budget, so it's ok. And I exercised! 45 minutes on the stairclimber! And water is going ok. Not fantastic, but ok.

Breakfast: coffee w/creamer, tortilla w/scrambled eggs and ff cheddar
Lunch: salmon cake, tortilla chips w/a few bites of tomato mozzarella dip (it wasn't very good), diet dr. pepper
Dinner: water, water, and water, pork steak, baked potato w/sour cream, beets
45 minutes on stairclimber
Snack: Italian ice

Tomorrow... who knows? The plan is to get up in the morning and exercise, but you all know how my "plans" go. I will weigh in the morning just to see where I'm at. I really wish I had a digital scale. *sigh*

Can I just say that I think 100 miles in a month is a heck of a lot of miles? I really don't think I'm going to get all the way to 100. I mean, I don't know about you chicks, but my body needs an occasional break! 100 miles is over 3 miles a day, every day, with no days off at all! If I do 85-90 I'll be absolutely thrilled. That will be 3 miles a day, 5 days a week, and that's still a lot. It'll probably be closer to 75. But I'm going to try! I feel like I'm behind already! If nothing else, it IS good motivation.

Ok, that said, I'm heading off to bed. Have a great night, chickies!

Morning ladies!

Motivation level: 6

I lost 3 more pounds! Woohoo!

I'm planning on getting on the stairclimber in a little while, but to be perfectly honest my legs are still tired from the stupid thing last night. Sometimes the only time I have is in the evening, and sometimes the only time I have is in the morning, and I hate it when an evening and a morning are back to back like this. I mean, it's hard enough to exercise in the morning anyway, let alone when I just did exercise 10 hours ago.
I know, I'm whining.

I had to split my "breakfast" again today, but that's ok. I think it might actually make me eat a little healthier. As in, not eating 2 eggs for breakfast every single day.
Here's the plan for today:

Breakfast #1: coffee w/creamer, 1 egg, 2 sl. red. cal. wheat toast
Breakfast #2: boca burger w/mustard on bun, water
Lunch: diet dr. pepper, lean pocket, mini rice cakes, maybe carrots or other veggie
Dinner: *shrugs*

I never know what's going to be for dinner. We have minute steaks in the frige to fix, but neither Mom nor I will be here to fix them, so I doubt that's what we'll have. I suppose it doesn't really matter. There will be something to eat, I'm sure.

Ok, time to go change my signature, then get ready to put in today's miles. Have a great day, chickies!
