Memorial Day Challenge
Hi everyone :) Happy weekend to you all. Some of you expressed interest in another challenge. Memorial day is on Monday, May 29th, the kick off to summer for some us. You can join now or at any point along the way of the challenge, it is never too late to join.
Just state what it is that you would like to accomplish by memorial day, it can be a weight loss goal or a non weight loss goal such as inches lost or it can be that your just trying to start out and still having a tough day one and making it about day one, it can be about wanting to quit night time snacking or desserts or soda, or whatever you choose! Post as often as you like, It is at those times that we can get help, there is no failure here! We are all striving to be a better us! I look forward to meeting you all! As for me, I am currently in the spring challenge until the 20th but I decided to start here now too! With approximately 11 weeks to go (10 weeks from Monday 3/13) and the start of summer, my goal is to continue being active and exercising, stay on plan, and if a 12 lb. loss or so follows that would be great! First and foremost, I will just take it day by day and focus on that day. What are your goals? : ) Have a great weekend and remember to jump in anytime, it is never too late! |
My goal is to weigh 128. That is about a 10 pound loss.

I can get behind a Memorial Day challenge! My goal is to get to and maintain 250 or lower on the scale - a 7.4 lb loss from my weigh-in today. Hopefully that's highly achievable and I can set a stretch goal later, but it's been awhile since I set out on a diet and I would like an easy win *fingers crossed.* Best wishes, RRosie |

Well I would love to of lost a good 3 inches off of my Tummy by then. I was working on my legs in the Spring Challenge and They look pretty good to me, hopefully I will be able to check in on that challenge with a good loss. But with my first wedding of many approaching in June, I would really like to work on reducing the inches on my tummy. I see great results in all areas, except for there, so I need to start doing better workouts. I think by then my goal is also to be 254? so that is like 18lbs or something :O wish me luck :lol: |
Another out of town member here had to google the date of Memorial Day.
I'm going to aim for 15lbs more off - the week leading up to the 29th I'm away in Germany on holiday, which might make 5:2 fasting a bit of a struggle!! |
Another googler here! I would like to aim for an average of 1.5 a week for the 11 weeks starting tomorrow. I will post back then with my SW & GW

May 29 is on a Monday so from tomorrows date it would be exactly 10 weeks, please bear that in mind when doing your calculations and at which time frame you start. SW: 219.4 GW: 199.4 I went back and forth on what I wanted to put as my goal. 20 lbs. is a stretch, but I have been losing on average 2.5 lbs. a week, so I dropped it down to 2lbs assuming it is bound to slow down. I really wanted to be in the 190's by June 1st, but didn't realize that is approaching so quickly! |

Memorial Day Challenge 3/11/17 Start Weight: 137 5/29/17 Goal Weight: 125 I am nearing my goal weight and would actually like to be 5 pounds below...so that puts me at losing 1.2 pounds per week. Doable! I am looking forward to sharing our journeys! Weekend Boater, I so agree with your goals: "my goal is to continue being active and exercising, stay on plan, and if a 12 lb. loss or so follows that would be great! I'd like to lose an average of 1.5lb a week between now and Memorial Day, is it 10 or 11 weeks away? I make it 11 so am setting a challenge of losing 16.5lb which will mean an end weight of 187.5 which will be lovely to see! Everyone is scurrying about and stocking up for the snowstorm we are due for starting around 3 a.m and going into the evening! It is supposed to be a biggie. I did well and got my usual supplies, eggs for a breakfast night one night during the week, extra lean beef to have a beef night one night, and chicken. I did get some crackers and cheese for the woman coming to my house shortly. I usually don't have those in the house, that will be a big treat for DH and I. In the past, snowstorms meant a huge foodfest! lol Look forward to catching up soon, I hope we don't lose power. |

I absolutely love challenges. But after the last one I did I was kind of down because although I ended up lower then I started…I didn’t lose as much as I should have because of mess ups. But I’m going to try this one and see if I can stay on top of it! I am 20 lbs away from my goal. I am hoping to be down at least 18 lbs of by May 29th. I’m almost going to include some mini goals on here to make sure I stay on the right track.

When I started out, I did not weigh in much (unlike the past) and I must say I really think it has been a huge factor in helping me......although now at this phase of the game, I am keeping a much closer eye on it. WI as frequently or as infrequently as you like, depending on what works for you. I am , right now, typically doing a once a week with sometimes a peek midway! Any more than that, I go nuts! lol but that's just me. MorningGlory, ditto! lol :) kfunk Hi there..smiling. Well, luckily, it was not as bad as they predicted! We got near a foot but not more and even though the winds were howling and we had a huge tree come down there was no power failure! I was so happy! The lights flickered so many times! I actually cooked dinner early in preparation, lol! It was so nice to wake up to the sunshine today! Nichols so happy to see you here. You know, I was thinking the same thing girl. I think that at times when things slow down, and they do sometimes, we just need to remind ourselves of how far we have come and remind ourselves of the progress in every way and of the NSV's(non scale victories). With that being said, I totally hear you! lol I had hit a plateau and now I am ready to rock and roll! let's do it! :carrot: "[petal to the metal" as our webwoman says! :) I should head to bed, I look forward to seeing you all soon! I am going to make my weigh in for this challenge each Monday, which will help me be more accountable at the weekend. I weigh in daily but only update my stats on Thursdays. I think I will move away from daily weigh in at some point as it sometimes drives me mad but it keeps me so accountable I think that outweighs the madness!!!
What is everyone's plan of attack for this challenge in terms of food, exercise, lifestyle? I am not following any particular diet but I am photoing everything I eat and planning out meals in advance. I am moving more. I am trying to be kind to myself. Again, further in my journey my plan might become more formalised but my key is to live in a way I can live forever, and that is exactly what this is.... so as long as it works, I am happy! |
I am glad that it wasn't as bad as they had predicted and you didn't lose power! Man, a foot is still a lot of snow though!!!
takingcontrol I am going to keep doing what I have been in terms of diet. I have cut out wheat, alcohol, and have been eating 80% clean. I don't count calories yet, but probably will at some point, possibly sooner than later. I am going to start lifting weights in the next few days!! I agree that the key is being able to do this forever, and so far I don't feel deprived and enjoy the healthy foods that I have been eating. Once I get closer to goal I will add wine back in! |
Hey everyone! I'd love to join. I need these challenges to stay on track. I just started a pretty strict low carb diet to help reverse my PCOS symptoms and my ultimate goal is to drop a considerable amount of weight. By Memorial day I'd like to lose at least 20 lbs. Stay on track with my diet and be regularly working out at least 3 days a week.

It is still so cold here! I am working so hard not to flounder. I will hang in there, day by day! THe healthy eating has become a habit for me now I believe but it is somuch more about that, it really is! Also, I am fine with being called Britt instead of my user, btw :) Takingcontrol, I have just started counting bites as my new way of eating. I usually work out 5-6 days per week, but I have been battling depression and have been having a bit of low couple of weeks that have kept me in bed and out of the gym. I am going to recommit to at least getting back into practicing yoga a few times a week next week since that helps both my mood and health. |
Britt yes! :) I am so glad you joined! Your workouts sound incredible! As for the past few weeks being down, day by day my friend! I commend you for being here. We are going to have our share of tough days, I am so all for posting and helping one another, it really can make a world of difference. Now that I said that, I really should hit the hay, yes? lol :) Good sleep makes an enormous difference.

I lost 0.4, so I am currently at 163.2. I would LOVE to be out of the 160s by the end of next week, but we will see! I'm proud of myself for not succumbing to a binge last night, but I am hoping to get to the place where I can do more preventative work instead of wrestling with myself for hours! How is everyone else doing? |

Hi ladies!!! I haven't really been posting too much, not a whole lot of activity! Had been on a bit of a rollercoaster with my weight the last week! Finally had a bit of a whoosh this morning. I'm hoping it stays off. I love how much extra motivation whooshes provide! I'm ready to go dominate the day! Finally getting nicer out, so I am looking forward to taking my exercising outside. Only 222 days until my wedding! Need to kick this into gear!!

Congrats on the losses ladies :carrot::cheer2::cheer2: and progress and to everyone, congrats on sticking with it and today is a whole new day and fresh start and wishing you all a great one. From when our challenge started here (my WI was the 12thn I believe), I was at 181.4 and am currently at 179.7, a loss of 1.7 so far! We still have a whole 12 days left to this month! I was gone all day yesterday to a family party. They had corned beef and cabbage as the main course and I had a small portion of a little of everything and didn't overeat. I am excited about the start of our new week and now focusing on just today and making it a good day. It's mild and sunny and I need to get my tail in gear and do some exercise, thinking to get in a nice walk. Have a super day and catch you all soon! :) keep up the great work everyone. |
