Weekend Boater 05-15-2017 09:34 AM

Hi ladies  Happy Belated Mothers day to all the moms out there, hope you all had a fantastic day.

Great to come in and catch up with all of your news and congratulationsss to all of you on the losses, yay! :carrot::cheer2::cheer2::congrat: WTG ladies! 2 weeks left to our challenge!

I have not been steadily OP every day but am more often than not and have managed to maintain that way. I didn't WI after this weekend though and indulged a bit at the luncheon I held yesterday. Webwoman, mass and mass! lol Not too far away really, and I could go on and on about the projects.......

The past few weeks surely have been busy, we had a great turnout at the firs topen house 2 weeks ago but not so much last week for no clear reason but the interest level has been very good and we do have a few buyers inquiring but some keeping us hanging and eek, it def. can be stressful! Just trying to take things in stride.

Weather has been cold and rainy for some time but beginning tomorrow we will be jumping right into summer, it can be like that in New England sometimes. You can miss spring entirely and go from 50 degrees to 80 or 90 in a matter of a day! lol I am very much looking forward to it! We can finally do the cookouts I have talked about here in the past.

I have to run out to do some errands but want to congratulate you all again! :carrot: The charts are looking great! Bravo for keeping at it. Hope to catch up with you all personally soon! kfunk, I bet you felt good after that water cleanout! Britt, I responded awhile back but it came back to me...I hadn't even gone in to fitbit and oh I need to recharge it right now that I think of it! Hope you all a wonderful day, keep up the great work everyone

kfunk6113 05-21-2017 05:23 PM

gulf I am glad that you were able to get back down!! I don't think that I will be making goal either, but I just plan on finishing the final week strong!

rosinante and daydreamer you guys are killing it!! So close to goal, great job :carrot:

I hope that you have an awesome time in Germany, rosinante!

Sounds like you have been very busy weekend!! I hope that things are going well with your house and that you guys get an offer soon, sounds like there is a lot of interest! Glad that the weather warmed up! We have had cold and rainy weather for over a week. Yesterday we had my daughter's 6th bday party for her friends. We had a bouncy house, but it was 50 degrees and pouring rain so we had to move out all of the furniture and put it up in our upstairs living room. There were 17 kids total and I was so glad when it was over!!

I have been struggling lately. My weight loss for May has slowed to a crawl, I haven't been able to make the last few challenge goals. I had a huge binge yesterday, the biggest in 6 months. It was really bad. Thinking back throughout the month I have had 2 binges, I have had a few meals out, and indulged more than I normally would have. I am lucky that I am down anything at all.

I think that I will be going back to daily weigh ins. After that huge binge I was up 3.8 lbs this morning! I am mad at myself for wasting nearly 1 month, but I am determined to learn from this and get back on track.

I hope that everyone is doing well!! One more week :D It has been a pleasure doing this challenge with you all

Rosinante: You did amazing!! Hope you enjoy yourself in Germany!! :D

kfunk6113: Sometimes we start going for 'easier' options once we have gotten into a routine. Or at least I do, in the past I'd start great, barely sweets and junk food... A couple of months in, I'll be eating within my calorie range but my choice of food has decade considerably. I'd eat chocolate instead of an apple, or a SMALL portion of fast food to stay within calories. That usually slows my weight loss. So, don't give up, just reevaluate and jump back in the game. Also, snail pace is better than nothing, or even worse, than going backwards!

One week left gals! :D I set up a second goal, which is a bit ambitious but 210 is so close! We'll see if I make it. :P Hope you are all doing great! ^_^

kfunk6113 05-23-2017 12:44 PM

Jessie very impressive drop, way to go!!

daydreamer that is EXACTLY it!!! It will be 6 months for me on the 28th and I think I am just becoming way too comfortable. I need to try very hard to remember how physically and mentally uncomfortable it is to binge, but how easily that is forgotten. I am going back to the basics and going to wait a while until I have a 'treat', they aren't worth it anyways.

I think I knew that I was going to succeed this time when I realized that I didn't need to throw away all of my hard work after a slip up. I have had my share but no matter what, the very next day I am back on plan. I need to stay patient and not get frustrated that it is taking so long. I committed myself to one full year, so I am going to see it through. Even though I wont have the body I envision for this summer, I will be able to next year because I didn't put off starting until the last minute.

p.s daydreamer what does your plan consist of? Your numbers are insane!

DayDreamer26 05-23-2017 01:17 PM

kfunk6113: To be honest I am surprised at my numbers too! I have done the exact same thing I am doing now last year and I wasn't dropping as much. I think, as my husband noted, that in the past I was doing more strength exercise, so I was probably building muscle? I am not sure.

The only thing I am doing is counting calories. I entered my height, weight, age, and activity level in an app [MyNetDiary] and it told me to eat 1350 cals or so. I have been trying to go for healthy options instead of junk. It seems I am consuming massive amounts on cheese... xD some yogurt, fruits. For sweet cravings, I try to keep fruit snacks, skinny cow wafers, 100 cal packs of shortbread cookies and for salty ones, pop chips, almonds, rice cakes, jerky...

Breakfast... I have never been much of a b-fast person. There are pretty much 2 versions I alternate if I eat anything. 1: Coffee + w/e (toast and cheese, or milk and cereal, or toast w/ cream cheese and jam, or an omelette) 2: 1.25 cups of milk w/ instant coffee and I am the happiest person alive. I LOVE hot milk with coffee. If it's going to be a long day, I usually try to eat something, else I go with milk <3.

I have this 'lazy' meal I eat most days (at least 5 days of the week) for lunch and thus far I haven't gotten sick of it. It's easy, nummy and quick. [1 mission Tortilla (140 cal) + 2 slices of turkey meat (22 cals) + 2 slices of ultra thin Swiss cheese (80 cals) + 2 Tbsp of Mexican shredded cheese (50 cals)] Sometimes I have a tortilla with shredded chicken, tbsp mayo + tbsp milk (to water down the mayo and cut cals) or tuna instead.

For dinner it gets a bit tricky, since I am the only one dieting... So I make something like I'd normally would, maybe try to cut back on the oil. Enter the recipe on the app, and get smaller portion. If I am making for example fried fish, I'll cook mine without any oil, or if there is rice, I'll only take 1/2 a cup. I am a very slow eater, and I get full rather quickly, so I compensate with other snacks later on.

I am a snack-er I rather have small meals and eat through the day, and the bulk of that snacking is after dinner. :p So, I think that's pretty much it, regarding food. Exercise? I am being SO lazy. I do not have a gym subscription at the moment. There is a gym on the apt complex but it has like 2 things apart from treadmills. Sooo I have been dancing on my living room xD when I don't feel as lazy.

Sorry for the wall of text! :x But yeah, that's it. I am baffled at how much I have been losing weekly too. I compared my current numbers with past weight loss logs I have kept and... yeah! I don't think I have ever done this 'well' and I don't think I have changed my method that much.
I guess, if it was muscle back then, my measurements will be quite different.

Hope everyone is having a good day! ^_^

Edit- I forgot to mention about cheating... I have yet to binge or go off track. I have only eaten out twice since I started (5 weeks). One was on my anniversary and I managed to find the nutritional info and stay within calories. The second was ramen, and I just... tried to eat very little during the day. Every other time my friends have gone to restaurants I've just taken a lunch box and eaten in the car (LAME!! I KNOW :( ) or eaten before and just accompany them while they eat. Same goes for house gatherings, I have asked the host if they mind me taking my own food. I usually take more snacks than calories I have left when I know there will be tempting food. I rather over eat 'good' thing than junk. Of course, this means I have had to tell quite a bit of people about my diet. Which, I have never done in the past and it makes me VERY self conscious and terrified of failing again. But you know, they ask when they see me walking with a lunch box soooo... :x

I actually have a Grilling Party on Saturday, and I am planning on taking some turkey hot dogs for myself and eat them without bread (eat like 5-6 hot dogs xD with ketchup and mustard).

daydreamer I am so glad that you have found a plan that has been producing such amazing results!! I love how you bring your own food with you when you go out, it is super smart!! I have yo-yo'd since I was 16 years old and I am pretty open with people that I am working on losing weight, but I am really worried about gaining it back again and what they think. I will be happy to prove them wrong, and pretty soon they wont remember me when I was unhealthy! I want to work on eating slower, especially with food that I really enjoy!

You are doing a great job, keep it up!!

Laura That is awesome!!!

DayDreamer26 05-24-2017 01:13 PM

kfunk6113: We'll see how long it lasts, I keep reminding myself it will most likely slow down at some point and to try and not get used to it, or expect those results every week. In the past, when I did started eating healthy I'd get so much anxiety when going out with people, and where would we go, and what would I eat.... Several times I even ended up not going because of it and.... I like hanging out with people. So it was a good compromise, I get to be social and avoid guilt and gains from it! :D win-win

I have been put on 'diets' since I can remember.... easily 9 years old. I have been over weight/obese my whole life... So I guess after SO MANY failures, I had grown self conscious about my diets and wanted to avoid the "Oh! She is going to fail again" or "Again?!" attitudes...

You are doing AMAZING too!!! ^_^

Farn0057 05-27-2017 09:53 AM

Hi everyone! I haven't posted for a while but I have still been hustling I reach my goal! I exceeded my old goal of 250, which is great news!!! I do not think I will make my new goal of 245. Currently I am at 248 with only a few days left. I am going to give it my best effort! Definitely motivating to stay on track and have a good weekend with the end of the challenge right around the corner! Good luck ladies!! We are almost there!!

kfunk6113 05-27-2017 10:31 AM

daydreamer Thank you!! I hope that the big losses keep coming for you before it finally slows down! Having patience that my body will do what it needs to do is the hardest part of this for sure. Some days I feel great with the progress I have made and other days I feel like it is happening way too slowly! I first noticed that I was different from my friends when I was 10 years old. I wasn't fat, but they were all very petite. Its almost 23 years later and I am finally ready to lose it for good!

I am so proud of all of us, kicking butt and losing pounds! You all have kept me going. Thank you.

My goals for the Memorial Day challenge were to quit Diet Coke and lose 12lbs. I am so happy to say that I accomplished one of them! Still one day left so I better behave myself haha! I'm looking forward to reading through tomorrow's posts :)

1 day left, good luck to everyone!!!

I was back up to 202 today. I will not make goal, but I would be super happy if I could get back into the 201's by tomorrow!

Weekend Boater 05-28-2017 10:23 PM

Hi girls

I felt so bad that I have not been in recently and it feels like forever but I must say I am so happy that you all stuck together and I want to congratulate you all on your accomplishments and milestones! :carrot::cheer::cheer3::cheer3::cheer3::cheer2::ch eer2::cheer2::congrat:

I am well but it has been crazy busy! As some of you know, we listed our home for sale. We have been in negotiations for almost a month! It has been quite stressful with an on and off scenario and short time frame to move. Have been at the other place remodeling and oh, I dare not go on! lol!

As for my program and weight, last I checked I was maintaining which is unreal, my whole life has changed! I can't wait until things settle down and I can get back to some normalcy again, hanging in there. I even didn't wear my fitbit for some days now which is unheard of, have had no time to even wear it or look at the chart.

Again, I am so proud of you all and it made me so so happy to come in and see that you gals stuck together and congratulationsssss again :) I hope to see you all again in the other threads. When things simmer down on my end, I can't wait to be back on a regular basis so if any of you start a thread or just want to Im me please do so! Onward and downwards my friends :)

Wishing you all a happy weekend, please keep in touch! Health, happiness, and love always! kfunk, , I saw that! Thank you so much girl!

Rosinante 05-29-2017 02:16 AM

I think I'm going to call it at 172.5, making 14.6lbs off in the challenge. I'm still away in Germany, and won't get to the scales for a while.

The great thing about challenges like this is that although I'd been feeling my weightloss had been stalling, heck! I've lost 14.6lbs! I Won't give up after all!

Good luck everyone! :D

Farn0057 05-29-2017 06:28 AM

Happy Memorial Day!!! This challenge flew by! I am pretty happy with my results. I started at 274.2 pounds and this morning I weighed in at 247.4. A total loss of 26.8 pounds!!! I'm so happy I joined this challenge. There were a few times I fell off the wagon, but I was able to correct myself and get right on track. I had myself convinced that I wasn't going to make my goal due to those extra "cheat days", but I did it! My original goal was 250, but in the last few weeks of the challenge I changed it to 245. While I didnt make my second new goal, I definitely made my first and I am so excited about that! Can't wait to hear everyone else's results today!!!

kfunk6113 05-29-2017 10:16 AM

Congrats to us all on finishing this challenge!! I did not make my goal but I am happy to be 15 lbs lighter! I had too much sodium this weekend and I am very bloated right now. Also, my TOM is approaching. I will look forward to my little whoosh at the end of it!

So nice to hear from you Weekend!! I hope that you guys can finalize the contract soon! That is amazing that you have been able to maintain throughout all of the commotion!! I look forward to your return when things slow down for you!!!

Congrats on losing -14.6 lbs. Rosinante!!! I hope that you are enjoying yourself in Germany!!

I didn't make it either. I lost five pounds instead of ten (at one point I had lost eight, but regained three.) Thanks for the challenge; at least I ended up in a better place than I started.

Okay, should we make another thread? Is there any date you guys want to set as a goal?

I was trying to think of one... So, this one was roughly 10 weeks long. From yesterday (Monday 29th), it would land around August 7th. But I can't think of any relevant occurrence around that time.

I was thinking we could make it longer until Labor day (14 weeks) or Shorter until Independence day (5 weeks ish)

If you guys have a preference? Can think of another date? Or anything, please let me know! :D

gulfmagnolia 05-30-2017 01:44 PM

Farn & Daydream

I'm in another challenge currently called
"Make 2017 Your Goal Year! Challenge 4/8: Mother's Day until Independence Day"

It's in the 100lb Club support group. I believe it is part of a string of challenges throughout the year and was started by our own Laura! If there is another challenge that starts up y'all can count me in!

MorningGlory1950 05-31-2017 04:04 PM

I love you putting it out there, how short or long should it be anddddd I will keep an eye out and hopefully join you all in the next challenge :) You all rock! Whether it's a week, month, 2 month, or more challenge I so want in!!!!

Hugs and much love to you all and congrats again!! :) This really made my night, it really did!

Rosinante 06-01-2017 03:27 AM
