We went out to eat Saturday night, Tex-Mex (my favorite) and of course I had a margarita. Gained 1 lb. That always happens if I cheat for even one meal...sigh. It comes right back off in a day or two but it slows my loss down. I'm at 192.6 this morning....up from 191.6 on Saturday morning. My weight loss seems to be grinding to a halt. I am going to have to do something more drastic to get moving more quickly again....I'm thinking of joining weight watchers.

I'm back this morning, like I said I would! Yay me! And I have a plan for the day, that always makes all the difference for me.

cincorn: Weight Watchers has always been my backup plan. I've yet to do it, because every time I get desperate enough to consider it, I make a change and things start going my way again.

Pixikat, new week new start - reckon that weight'll slip off like that bday meal did last week. I'm an all or nothing girl so get that feeling at the weekend too - I had an event on Saturday and there was loads of left over pizza - managed to limit myself to two slices which was a major achievement for me (although did eat veggie burger and chips for dinner - ooops!)

So am feeling like I made progress this weekend. Only one pound gain as posed to four and three pounds over the last two in November. So the big question is how close can I get to my goal? If I can get under 135 that'd be great. Look forward to sharing my insanity stats in dec too. Will have some pics to post of I'm feeling brave!

good morning everyone :)

I went for my first run in 3 weeks yesterday, it was freezing cold and I was really slow, but I'm excited to get back into exercising. Going to crossfit today :)
For some reason I slept really bad last night, so I think I'll be grumpy. But we'll see. I dropped 2.5lb over night!! So that's a good thing :)

I'm usually not that technically challenged, but I accidentally deleted my personals. uurgh. I almost never write them, so this is disappointing.
Well, hope everybody has a great day nonetheless!! :)

Holding steady today at 178. I stayed pretty busy yesterday and didn't drink as much water as I should have, so it's back to green tea and Mio water today! Oh and I am trying to curb my tendency today to use the smiley icons in my posts. I recognize that because I really like them, I get carried away using them. Looking over my last few posts, it occurred to me that my using them so much could get on other people's nerves, so I'm going "cold turkey" in my post today to try to curb my tendency. (And yep, it's hard! The post just doesn't seem as happy, lol!)

I woke up really sore from crossfit today. We did a 10minute circuit of burpees and knees to elbows (some strange kind of pull ups). Admittedly, I've been hanging on the bar like dead weight, but my arms still hurt now. Well, let's me know I did something ;)

boatingmommy it's crazy cold, right? It's worst when you have to get up, and the room is cold and under your blankets it isn't. And it's more than worse when it's still dark outside. Winter is great!! :ziplip:

190.4 this morning! That is 4.4 lbs. down...I only need 1.4 now to meet my November goal! I'm going to Weight Watchers today, I need a little extra kick now as the weight is coming off so much slower now and I am losing motivation to get to goal! I think calculating and writing everything down is just what I need right now

Am I the only one that is terrified of holiday weight gain? Do you know ANYONE or have you EVER lost or at least maintained weight from Thanksgiving until New Years? I'm feeling panicky thinking about it!:eek: :yikes:

My lunch went great and my plan worked well yesterday. I have a plan for today, too, and I slightly scaled back my serving sizes. I was afraid I would balk if I did it earlier, but now I think I won't have any trouble.

Jacqui_D: your post looks naked :o without smilies! And, this coming from someone who hardly ever uses them.

cincorn: In the last few years, I've lost or maintained during the holidays. I've had a loss, some years, on the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. I have intentions this year, too, even though I messed up last week. My goal is to weigh the same or less on January 1 as I did on November 1. Mostly, just setting that goal and getting determined is what makes it happen for me. Instead of getting panicky about the whole season, just take it one event at a time. We'll help you plan for each one! In between events, keep doing what you're doing -- it's working!

Well, I changed the batteries in the scale. Now I don't have to stand/stomp/jump up and down on the scale to get it to register. Luckily it didn't give me a higher weight, which is why I put off changing the battery for so long.

And to answer your question, I have never been able to stick to a diet over Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this year, I'm not worried about it because I'll just make sure I line up my cheats days to go with those days. I think that no matter what diet someone is on though, there are certain days when they should allow themselves to cheat--birthday and major holidays--as long as it doesn't throw them off their plan for good. Yes, they'll go up a few lbs the next day, but if they get right back on plan, those lbs will come back off. That's my 2 cents! :yes:

Cincorn- congrats on going back to WW, I'm trying like heck to get back to 150 so I can go for free...anyway, last year my work had a holiday program called freeze the gain that went from Nov to Jan, the idea was to just maintain over the holidays. I lost 5 lbs. You got points for logging food and activity.

They're doing it again this year Nov to Jan! They're going to the 12th to give you a chance to get back on track after the holidays, so don't get too stressed, there's some overeating days for sure, but plenty of opportunities to eat well as well. If you look at 3 meals a day and how many days, there's so many more opportunities to eat well to balance the meals that might be out of our control.

65.0 ... :cry: I've been in a downcast mood since my running race (being hard on myself and knowing that I could've done better). Plus, I saw a video of myself finishing the race and I'm shocked to see how badly my boobs bounce... I thought my exercise bra (which does a perfect job supporting my back etc) wasn't doing the extra job it felt to be doing -- keeping them from bouncing. I hate them so much and it's put me off from running a bit. With my TOM coming and my TOM binges in full swing, this week hasn't gone so great.

I'm going out for a run within the hour to 'get back on the horse' because there is no sense sabotaging everything because I don't like how I look when I run. What has been seen cannot be unseen, but I'll try my best to push it to the back of my mind! Bring on pregnancy and the shrinking that comes from it! (Though, I have to wait a year for that too...)

I'm still a little sore, but it's ok. I want to try Mark Lauren's 'you are your own gym' video tonight, anyone tried it before? It got good reviews on amazon, so I thought I'd try. Other than that, I have my first exam of the semester coming up in 2 weeks, so I start stressing a bit. I don't really care about the subject but gotta do it ;) Once I'm done with that exam I'll hopefully be one with it for a while though! (at least that's what I'm clinging too ;)) The library is my favorite place in the world :p

I'm not too worried about the holidays - I plan on eating whatever I want at Christmas, and not count and beat myself up over it. I want to try and listen to my body though - not continue eating something if I don't like it just because it's on my plate, and especially stop when I'm full. T
Usually doing planned unplanned days is not an issue, unfortunately events are a little clustered around Christmas time. I just feel like whatever gain I will have will be worth it and then I won't mind having to take it off again.

Rhiko sorry about your running bra issue. Don't feel self-conscious though. You're running, so I think bouncy boobs are the same as sweating and red head. If it does it's functional job supporting, don't worry. Look out for a stronger one though if it makes you feel better :)

Cincorn - I did exactly the same thing a few years ago. I join WW on Dec 2nd, and stopped late Feb. From Dec 2nd to Jan 30th, I lost 5 lbs!! I gained maybe 1-2 from December 20th to the first week of Jan., but it was a great overall idea.

I'm trying to figure out something myself to keep me good over the hollidays. I might start a Black Friday to Valentine's Day challenge with a spreadsheet.

I'm hoping I get my end of month whoosh that I've gotten the past few months. Although I've been plugging through November pretty good. Nov 30th makes exactly 6 months (I started this journey on May 30th) so I can't wait to see where I am at the end. Hopefully that can push me through the four parties I have this next week starting Saturday.
