hey all, I am back. I had a bad week there but I am on day 4 of being back on track. I realized that carbs are always my downfall so I am going low carb now. Halloween through New Years is always the very hardest for me, if I can cling to wagon (even run beside it lol) hopefully I can stay on track enough to not have another whole year of spiraling out of control.

Pixikat- like your "running alongside the wagon" I definitely feel like that at times

Rhiko- sometimes we just have to let go of toxic friends, I have one that we are starting to reconnect after not interacting for many years, I think we've both grown since then. There's an interesting thread in General Chatter, I think it's called Letter to anyone, or something along those lines, you might want to check it out and leave some of your toxins there, there are funny and touching letters.

Default I am starting to lose focus

Ok ladies I am coming to you for support! I have been slowly losing focus. I quit weight watchers back in July thinking I could go at it alone. Since then I have only lost 20 pounds. I know that is still a good amount of weight but its not a steady loss in that time. For example one week I will lose half a pound then I will go up 1-2 then the next week I will lose 4 pounds. I know that its because after not losing much or gaining for a week or so I will be extra careful with what I eat. I need to eat that way everyday and not when I am feeling lost. I have lost 66 pounds since starting this journey in January but still have 80 to go.This week is an "off" week I will get back to it next week but why do I do this to myself? I wish I hadn't let myself get this big and I want to be thin! Thanks for listening!

SouthernBell02 I tend to have the same problem!!! After taking a hard look at what I usually fell off the wagon for and ate while not being OP I realized it is pretty much all simple carbs. Between that and reading Why We Get Fat and What To Do About It it finally convinced me to give low carb a try. I used to be the first person saying I can't give up my carbs but reading the science behind it and knowing my own slippery slope I am giving it a try.

I would suggest looking carefully where you go awry and if there seems to be a pattern consider giving up the food/s that send you off plan.

Kelijpa, that's such good advice you have Rhiko re the letter thread. Will check it out too!

Southernbelle - I really struggle at weekends with my 'all or nothing' mentality. If you sway off plan, do you write off the while day/week? If you do have a slip up maybe try to get back on plan straight away, as soon as you've eating the cookie (rather than eating eight - I have been known to do that). Just some thoughts, hope they help!

I'm feeling jolly today because I got another visit from the whoosh fairy. I think she must have seen me struggling away with my workouts over the last two months and decided to reward me. I'm not expecting to hit my goal but if I end the month at 134 ill be over the moon.

My other half flies back from the states tonight. Looking forward to seeing him!! Something to be jolly and give thanks for too!

Pixikat, congrats on getting back on track and for the nice drop! I'm glad you've come to recognize your nemesis (carbs) so that you can beat it!

Amanda, even though you may not want to weigh and post your number here everyday, maybe you can check in each day and just tell us how you're doing, if you are eating well, drinking enough water, etc. Maybe that could help you to stick to your daily plan, at least until you feel secure in following it like you know you should.

This has been a great challenge, I already have mine picked out for next month, looking forward to seeing everyone in the Dec. this has been a good learning experience and I'm counting it as a win. I know it's not over yet, still have hope, there's still Friday and Saturday after today.

I can't wait until I weigh less so I can start riding my bike again. I've got a nice bike.
I stopped riding it when I got a lot heavier and broke three spokes on the rear wheel (!!?)
Right now I have 110 kg (243 lb) designated as the weight I need to reach to start riding my bike again.
