Hi bethann, that is approx. an hour or so away from me. Have not actually been to that town, but certainly to the region. It is very beautiful around there, your daughter will love it.

Hello everyone,

My whole body aches from walking around for 13 hours...I know when I weighed in this am that the 149.2 was from water retention and muscle soreness. I am looking forward to getting back to that 146 and lower!

Well, I lost 2 of the lbs I had gained, so I'm back to 187. Not great, but at least the gaining has stopped.

Weekends are so tough for me because I'm out of my normal routine. I was thrilled to see I LOST weight this weekend. It's not an official weigh-in, but wow, it felt good!

Reading about Disneyland makes me smile. Last year, we surprised our kids with a trip. We drove and didn't tell them until we were on the last leg. It was so awesome. What an amazing time we had. Met some friends there and made some terrific memories. I think my feet still remember the trip, though. LOL Ouch!

Italiannie, the party was great! Thanks for asking. Although I ate more than I should have, and it showed on the scale today. I was 191! Going in the wrong direction and that has to change. It seems that since the start of this challenge, there is some special event going on every weekend: Christmas, New Year's Eve and my daughter's 21st birthday party. I overdid it at each event. Now my nephew is having his 18th birthday party this coming weekend, and I just have to be a good girl if I want to see a loss on the scale next by Monday.

I am so proud of all of you who are having such wonderful losses. Way to go! Even for those of you who've had slower losses or (like me) a gain at the beginning, I still consider it progress if we check in here and admit we strayed, but are getting back on the bandwagon...which is exactly what I'm doing.

Now that school in back in session for my younger daughter, I'm back at getting up at 5:30 a.m., but for some reason, I bounced out of bed when the alarm went off, did my cleaning for the day before taking her to school and then came home and worked out and showered. I feel fan-freakin'-tastic!!! I hope this feeling stays for a nice, long visit. And all this extra cleaning, along with the exercising, has got to be speeding up my metabolism a little bit more.

Oh, and a big welcome to all the newbies who've joined since I last posted, too!

Okay, there's still about 5 weeks left in this challenge. That's plenty of time to lose a good chunk of weight before Valentine's Day. We just need to focus and keep our eye on the prize.

Let's tear it up this week everyone!!!

It always feels better to start off the week visiting this thread! There's a crazy mess of food at work these days.

The best option is to be prepared. Though, I have to admit the carrot sticks that I believed would be "refreshing" didn't quite remove the desire to scarf up some of the desserts offered up at a surprise celebration this afternoon. I found it interesting to watch the "skinnier" folks in the room: All chat, no eating

Sandy, it sounds like you've found an ideal groove = working out earlier and getting so much accomplished. I'm betting it's great for the endorphins and burning calories throughout the day. Jack LaLanne was reported to complete his daily workouts early, early in the morning to ensure they got done. As Jack said, "You eat everyday, you sleep everyday, and your body was made to exercise everyday."

Stay strong and keep moving everybody

Only 5 weeks left? Wow. I love how that correlates with myfitnesspal, which tells me daily what I will weigh in 5 weeks if I continue the way I am. I'll pay close attention to this week to see if I'm eating on the right track. I believe I am, which is awesome. I want to meet this Feb 14th goal, because then it will be completely doable to be in Onderland by the end of Feb!

Best of luck to you, Missy!

I don't have as much energy as yesterday, but still managed to get everything done on my list. I figure that I have to be burning a minimum of 200 extra calories daily (not including my exercise) by sticking to this list. No too shabby!

Hope everyone is moving right along and staying on plan and active.

Hugs to all!
