I'm having a rough time of it.. I think I need to adjust my calories... I don't think I'm eating enough. Need to get better about the cardio too... doing strength training 3 days a week though. Frustrated.
SlimmerDownNow, I can feel your frustration...I'm stuck on a 3 week plateau as well. Argghh. I've been OP with my eating, just slacking on the exercise. I guess I know what to do...Just have to bite the bullet and do it!
TC and LBC, Congrats on escaping the obese category That is a huge accomplishment.
Ok, this week I'm going to do more workouts and drink that water. I sure hope I can break through and start losing again.
Just going to hop over to weigh in, but I am mad because I was lower yesterday!!! Oh well, I figure that will at least show up next week hopefully.
My challenges this week-
Try something new: Got on the elliptical for 45 minutes Wednesday, I haven't gotten on that in months. So although it wasn't new, it was something my body wasn't used to and that was what I was after.
Pledges:
80 ounces of water: got it in every day. I started drinking 16 oz. right before every meal and then I just have to get one more (16oz) in sometime throughout the day, easy. [About conversions for who asked, a pint has 16oz and a quart 32oz. A liter has around 33 ounces. I googled it, I wouldn't have known that ]
Veggie with lunch and dinner every day: done
Sodium under 2000 at least 3 days: I only hit this one day. This one is so hard for me. Anyone else struggle with sodium?
I don't have time for personals right now, but I will check back soon.
morning ladies!! 70DAYS till Christmas! I just went over and weighed in... not the best not the worst. A loss is a win. 70 days to lose 27 lbs on my end helps keep things in perspective for me! Hope everyone is doing good.
Goals this week
attend bootcamp every morning
train for my turkey trott
no late night sweets!!
70 days? That's 10 weeks to lose 13 pounds, ugh. It's going to be close at the rate I am going. All the more reason to stick right with the plan, no slipping! No leeway! Gotta do this. I think I just found my motivation to work out today, I was feeling lazy. Thanks LIL'JJ!
I was thinking of what kind of pledges I could do. And it turned out that I'm so confused! How much water does one actually need??? I've googled it, I've searched it, and I still don't know...
I know that I drink out of 16 oz cups, this many times: 1 upon waking. 1-2 at work. 1 upon returning home. My morning coffee mug holds 16 oz as well. The coffee mug at work also holds 16 oz. And I also drink a green tea in the afternoon (same work mug). So that's at least 6 x 16 oz = 3 water, 2 coffee, 1 tea! That's 96 oz of liquids!!! Surely that's enough. Though if you pick water vs other stuff, then I only have 48 oz of pure water.
Oh well, I'll leave it be.
Let me go to my corner and think of another pledge....
Hey... I've just weighed in, did I miss it? I weighed on Saturday and I was 155!!!!! Then yesterday morning it was back up... guess it was water weight Then agian... I really should get at least a semi decent scale.
Old convention says you need 8 - 8oz glasses of water a day, so 64ozs. But I think it's fairly individualistic. Really, drink enough so that your pee is either a really light yellow or clear. I can't believe what a difference it made to the way I feel to be properly hydrated.
I pledge to keep working out, keep drinking my water, watching my portions and not eating junk!!! Also, I'll look for my healthy cookie recipie at home.. I know, sounds like an oxymoron but they really are very good No sugar, flour or eggs and oh so tastey (at least I think so ).
i'm back from my corporate wine/dine/rugby weekend.
It was pretty tough really as it was all a bit too sociable for me with eating/drinking literally 12hrs a day for 3 days, with top business people from around the country (that i didn't know - hubby got the invite). It was all first quality restauraunts and the best of everything, but how do people do it as a regular lifestyle thing?
I feel like a different person as a result of all that consumption - i have no energy and i feel really fat and sluggish and whatever the opposite of being proud of myself is. I didn't go nuts, i just ate and drank the same as everyone else. Again, how do people do it all the time, and not slump into a well of depression!! - you just feel bad about yourself.
Anyway, that was a scheduled event for me, and i always planned to be off-diet for last weekend, so now i'm looking forward to getting back into exactly the same diet as before.
Haven't been on the scales yet, but i'm expecting it'll take a couple of weeks to recover from that little excursion! I just hope that i get back into it again ok and the diet works as well for me as it had been doing before.
Amazing how different i feel after only 4 days. On the other hand i suppose it's the same when you start a diet and it only takes a few days to feel amazingly better about yourself. Here's hoping!.......
Here's the water rule of thumb that I know about from other websites. Take your weight in pounds, divide by 2. That is the number of ounces of water you should drink per day.
I found it very helpful to measure my favorite water cup in ounces and figure how many of those I need. It turns out to be 5.4 refills for me. I found a place to make tally marks and mark it down every time I refill. Boy, it is a lot of water and a LOT of trips to the bathroom. I'm lucky if I can get them all in one day a week. But, just knowing the number I'm shooting for helps keep me drinking. I only count straight water and when I do accomplish it, it really keeps me full.

Thanks! So it turns out I'm good on water. 79 oz, around 5 - 16oz easy peasy!
Good Morning, peeps!! Here's to another day, and another pound!
lol... I ate way too much last night, hopefully the 'another pound' is one the minus side, not the plus side!! Wishful thinking... I'll have to work double hard the rest of the week.
