Well done to everyone still taking part Numbers are dwindling, so be proud if you're still here. And congrats Eryn on coming back No gains this week either, whoop!

I hope to be around a bit more this week to keep teh chat nice and active and supportive, Crimbo is getting ever closer (so much so I'm already thinking about the next challenge, as there's no way I'll be at target by the end of this one!)

    Have a great week everyone!
  • Week 12 Challenges!

    1) Exercise Challenge - do something new, and tell us about it!

    2) On plan challenge - decide a plan and stick to it, and try to come back everyday to tell us how it's going

    3) Make someone smile - not weight related really, but anything feel good helps, so do something lovely at least once this week to make someone else smile and tell us about it!

    4) Where do you want to be this time next year? Simple, just have a think about it and tell us all. Sort of a pre-resolution thing, but a long term focus is nice, especially when the challenge is coming to end in a few weeks. If you can, tell us how you hope to get there. This can e purely weight related, but doesn't have to be!

I'll do my best to be around more to get things going again, will post my responses to the challenge thread in teh morning!

    1. New Exercise - i'm still with my trekking group that i joined last time this was a challenge. Been 4x now and really enjoying the exercise and meeting new people! Will think about something new for this week....
    2. Am sticking to my 'generally-being-sensible' diet because it's still working. I've been back on plan for the last 3 days since i got back from my trip, so i'm happy with that and will keep reporting in and hopefully keep on plan!
    3. Have to think about that one too!
    4. This years new years resolution was to average more than 2011 seconds of exercise per day (33min) which i've already achieved, but next years resolution will be weight related. I want to stay under 57kg (126lb) for the whole of the year. I was 55.8kg (123lb) this morning but need to lose a bit more to have some good 'wiggle room' so i'll keep going until i go away on 22 Dec (and i know i'll put on a couple of kg over christmas). Was 136lb at the end of august which was the start of this challenge, so now i've lost most of the weight i need to make sure i keep it off with a long term maintenance plan.

    1) This was Sunday, but check out this hike I did: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Goat_Trail

I have done this hike once before, *but* I want to count it for one very specific reason: last time, I had to take the emergency exit off the A section. This time, I did the whole thing without stopping for anything more than a brief picture.

    2) WW Points only this week and 1 hr of exercise every day. I had a huge dinner out with DH and FIL on Sunday.

    3) I am going to clean out DH's and my closet and bedroom later this week. He will smile.

    4) I want to see a "3" in my tens digit this time next year. I also want to be in Hawaii in a bikini.
  • Congrats Lop92! (And everyone else!)

    1. I plan to do sit-ups/push-ups/lunges/etc every other day and dancing on the other days. It's not that I've never done those things before but it would be new for me to actually do them on a regular basis. I really hate exercise so if I manage this it would be amazing!

    2. I count calories for the sole reason that it means no food is off limits, but over the past few weeks I've been being really bad and whilst I've been staying within my daily calories I've been eating quite unhealthy foods. So, over the next week I hope to eat only wholesome, fresh foods and NO JUNK.

    3. I'll try!

    4. This time next year? I can't think that far ahead! Hopefully I'll have finished uni with a good degree (seems unlikely as I'm procrastinating on here instead of working at the moment ) and either starting a job or masters degree. Weightwise I'm hoping to be down to goal by the new year so fingers crossed I'll still be there by this time next year.
  • Great weekly pledges guys

I know it's already half way through the week, but it's taken me this long to get going!

    1) I will try to find something, but fitting in exercise in my nemesis at the moment, I dont enjoy it, and therefore when I'm busy it's the last thing I want to squeeze in my schedule! I have however got up early this morning and done day 1 week 1 of couch to 5K (again!) Id really like to stick at the programme this time, but, with winter around the corner, i'm not sure how viable that is without joining a gym, so watch this space is about all I can say for exercise!

    2) I'm back to making healthy choices this week! Only having alcohol twice a week, and two other treats a week. All other meals etc must be good choices! I've trained myself to be able to eat bananas as a snack food, and I'm going to work on other fruits, I wish I liked them!

    3) I'll see what I can do!

    4) I'd like to be at a weight I'm happy with (whether that is higher or lower than my target weight on here I don't know!) I just want to feel I can wear anything and be confident in it. Also, I'd like to be much much fitter, running a 5K would be my obvious benchmark, but, whatever really, just having a decent level of fitness.
  • Reporting in..... on plan with diet and exercise.

For my 'new thing' i'm going to sign up to do a 10km trail run that i've noticed is being organised close to me this Sunday. Actually i haven't run for quite a while although i've been busy with other exercise, so i'm sure it will be really tough especially since there's some very steep hills and stream crossings etc!

Cleaned out the wardrobe last night and threw away/donated a load of stuff, which gives me plenty of space to fill with a bit of a shopping trip this saturday. Would like to make a start on christmas presents, but i really need to get some summer stuff for myself too (it's getting warm down here!).
  • Ooooohhhhhh how exciting re the shopping Ange! The run sounds great too, I love the way you embrace the exercise try something differents!

Really felt good after my 'run', but I've gone n spoilt it by eating a big bag of sweets I bought for my class today, but never gave out so I ate on the bus ride home, NOOOOO!

At least I've confessed, beats eating and denying it, BUT, I NEED TO FIND SELF CONTROL!
  • reporting in again.

I signed up for the run - it's tomorrow - eeek!!

    I've been on plan.

I weighed in at 121 lb this morning.

It's saturday and i'm off SHOPPING!! (actually this isn't generally my idea of fun, but i'll give it a go!)
  • back from shopping, and it was good! Super-happy with a pair of shoes i got that means i can wear heaps more stuff already in my wardrobe that i've not really been wearing because i didn't have the right shoes!

Also got summer cotton cargo pants, a second pair of shoes, a top, a belt and a business shirt. Very happy with all my purchases!!
  • Whoop! Well done on the successful shopping trip Ange, and on being within the limits of goal weight for another week, this challenge really has seen massive changes for you

1.75lb off for me this week. Pretty chuffed with that. Hoping to up the exercise a bit more again this week, it really does make all the difference for me, I know that, so just don't understand why that isn't enough of a motivator to do more!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend
  • Not a great week for me, weight wise, but I expected a slowdown over the next week or two, given how much I lost the last few weeks (almost 5 lbs in 2 weeks, too fast for me -- I'm steadiest at 1-1.5 per week).

Oh well. Back on the treadmill. I'm wary of the elliptical now that I read an article that said that holding onto the moving handrails will mess up my back!
  • Quote: this challenge really has seen massive changes for you
Thanks TC, you're right! I've lost all the weight on my ticker during this challenge, and actually i've been at 121 lb for the last 3 days, so since the start of the challenge i've lost 11% of my body weight and a couple of dress sizes and i'm feeling totally differently about myself.

Amazing what big changes you can make in just 3 months.

I did my 'new challenge' for the week yesterday with the 10km cross-country race. It was good. Actually the hills were so steep that it was quicker to walk up them than run, so i did, which made managing my breathing easier!! It was good fun and a beautiful environment, so thanks again to this thread for prodding me in to doing it.

Everything else on plan. Well, other than i had 2.5 glasses of wine last night and a few chilli olives that were surplus to requirement, but i'm allowed that every now and then!
  • Ange- Yay for new shoes! And congrats on the race.

Takingcontrol- 1.75 lb is great! Well done!

I'm down to 133 lb today. Bit of my weight history here- I got down to my goal weight (120 lb) a couple of years ago but then got put on medication which made me jump up to 133 lb in a month and I haven't managed to get down below 133 lb since. Hopefully this week will be the week!
