Quiet board!

So, today was back on track. Did well food-wise. I wasn't able to get my miles in this morning because the hubby wanted to go out on his motorcycle. Maddie let us sleep in so I didn't get up until almost 8:30.

Had a mommy-daughter day with Madeline. We went shopping and played. We had lunch out, she had chicken nuggets, I had subway (had to be good). No chips or anything - just the 6" sandwich. Went grocery shopping and grabbed lots of healthy foods and prepped them for easy lunches this week. Even managed to make some turkey chili that I'll have with my sandwich this week.

So, since I didn't get the miles in this morning, I decided to get them done tonight!! Got outside at 8:15 and started my 2 miles. When I got near the end, I figured, why stop? So I ran an ENTIRE 3 MILES!!! I impressed myself. I'll definitely be ready for that 5K on August 8th.

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

maddiesmom - wow - 3 miles! Good for you - that's awesome! You are in great shape for that 5k now.

Super super hot here this weekend - yuck. We caught another mouse and I'll set the trap again tonight (didn't want to last night as I didn't have time this morning to go drop one off) so unfortunately I'm wondering how many more are running around this house. Ah the joys of home ownership - such fun. Not great foodwise this weekend but not awful either - I'm stressed about the bathroom starting and have been second guessing my designs and choices. Hope you all are doing well!

Vicky-great job on the 3 miles. You are gonna kick that 5k's butt. I know I have asked before but cant find it. Can you give me your turkey chili recipe again. I want to put some on tonight in the crock pot to have for lunch this week.

Dance-We have mice here and there, I always set them free too. Dont want to hurt them. Havent had any lately though, but where we live we are destined to have a few(fields and wooded area)

I did day 15 yesterday and did my measurements. I was happy to see I lost an inch from my waist and 1/2 an inch from my hips. I was also down to 193 this morning. So I am slowly making it back to ticker weight. No plans for today. Want to stay home and do some organizing and cleaning. Cleaned out our coat closet and got rid of probably half our coats. Dont know why 2 people needed that many. Now I want to do our bedroom closet. I already cleaned the computer room but not the closet in there and chris has it packed full. That will be fun. Got a ton of stuff to donate. I was so glad my mom and sis took some of the clothes I didnt want. Better get up and get busy if I want to accomplish anything today. Still have to do day 16. Only 2 more weeks of 30ds.

Allison: The turkey chili is kind of a mish-mosh of stuff I put together:
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 diced white onion
1 large can Bush's chili beans (mild sauce)
1 small can Bush's chili beans (hot sauce)
1 small can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1 can kidney beans
season to taste, I put: pepper, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes (I like my chili hot)
Brown the turkey and add onion, drain fat. Then I pour everything else in and simmer for 45 minutes. This makes a lot, so hopefully Chris will eat some of it! Matt won't eat any, so I'm gonna freeze half.

Allison: CONGRATS ON THE INCHES!!! WTG!!!! See, you hard work is paying off - you will be out of the 190's in no time at all.

Dance: Let's hope that there's no more critters in your house. What are you doing in your bathroom? I love decorating - my house is almost where I want it except my flooring. Kinda find the time (and money!) to get it all done. Other than that, the house is where I would want it.

Not sure if you guys have taken a look, but if you want to see recent pics, I just posted some to FB. It's in the most recent album. Now I just need to work on my arms, that is the part that I'm disliking most at this point. I'm going to have to talk to Jeff and see what we can do.

Plans for everyone today? Same old same old for me. I am going to hit the gym for Jeff's class tonight where I'm sure he's got a super fun workout for me. I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't involve running! LOL Six miles in 2 days - that's a lot for me.

Hope everyone's having a great day!

Thanks Vicky-I am gonna put it on in the crock pot later when my roast, carrots and potatoes are done. Chris wont eat it, he doesnt like ground turkey, so I will have to freeze some too. I am really trying to get out of the 190s, its just taking forever, like it took me forever to get to 199. Saw your pics on FB, you look amazing and Maddie is just adorable.

maddiesmom - you look wonderful in your new pics! And your daughter is just precious!

No work out for me today as my boss is in town and we're doing a team dinner.

burgundy - sounds like you are cooking away - that's great, it will make the rest of the week so much easier...

Thanks Allison and Dance for the compliments on the pics. It's been a long road and I have about 30 more pounds to lose. I have my goal as 175 now, but I think I would be thrilled with 165. We'll see as my body gets closer to the goal. Thanks for saying my Madeline is adorable - it's always nice to hear! She's looking more and more like my hubby, but she's a riot.

So, I had an "ah-ha" moment over the weekend. I met with my friend from college, who was the same size I was when I started my WL journey. I took one look at her and immediately noticed the difference between my size and her's. I think I needed to see that in order to put things into perspective. Now, don't get me wrong - I love my friend dearly - I was just noticing the difference in sizes. I hope I've inspired her to lose, but she didn't say a single thing about my size/weight, etc. Not that I'm fishing for compliments, but I haven't seen her in a year. I dunno. Guess I'm being sensitive.

maddiesmom - in a way, it doesn't surprise me too much about your friend - if she's not 100% happy with her current size, it may be too hard for her to be able to celebrate your success or she knows how sensitive an issue weight loss is and doesn't want to risk saying the wrong thing. I probably mentioned it when it happened months ago but a colleague I hadn't seen in ages said (in front of a training group of, oh, around 40 people I know) 'wow, you lost QUITE A BIT of weight'. I know she meant to be nice but it really felt like she was kind of insulting my former self. So, basically, it's soooo hard for people to say the right thing that they often say nothing. We know and you know that you look fabulous and have made AMAZING progress.

burgundy - hope your chili turned out well. And congrats on the change in measurements! That's exciting stuff!

maddiesmom - today's not a running day for you, right? Are your legs sore at all from the miles you've been putting in?

mygrits - how's your incredibly shrinking hubby? You haven't mentioned your foot in a while - is that getting more manageable?

Off for a run - will check in later...

Dance: No, today is not a running day for me - I'm taking the day off. I ran 3 miles on Saturday and Sunday, then did Jeff's class yesterday, so I'm a bit tired. The amazing part of the whole "running thing" is that I'm not sore at all!! Jeff said that since I ARP'ed, I've built up the muscles so much that my body can take the impact a lot more than I used to. Between ARP and isometric exercises, I'm good to go! Kind of a relief, since I used to absolutely HATE running. Not that I love it now, but it's not that bad.

I may do my isometric exercises tonight to do some strengthening. I am going to work out with Jeff tomorrow and then Thursday a friend of mine is taking his class with me. Not sure about the other days, but I'll have to get some mileage in to prepare for the 5K.

What is everyone else's plan today? Where's Fresno and Sandy??

maddiesmom - that's so cool that you don't get sore - all that hard work has really paid off. Do you get a runner's high a bit? I love that endorphin rush and the appetite suppressant effect of running too.

Nice and cool and cloudy today so great running weather here. Hope all is well with everyone...

Dance: I do get a runner's high, but I get it more when I'm about to end my run. For instance, on both Saturday and Sunday, I was just going to do the 2 miles, but when I reached the end of the two miles, I thought, "You know what? I can do 3." So I kept going and finished the 3. I feel great after I'm done, I don't crave any food, so that's a bonus too!

Hello ladies!
Sorry for being MIA. I'm back now, and will hopefully be able to keep in touch a little better.
So, the scale this morning STILL said 170.5. Ugh! Oh well. At least I'm not gaining anything, ha!
Last night I made an attempt to get to the gym, and without exaggerating, the parking lot was full and people were walking in from 1/2 mile away. I wasn't about to wait in line to get on a treadmill, so I left and went to the park and walked. The nice thing is, this park is just beautiful, and I probably walked around four miles. It was very peaceful.
The food has been going well too, other than some pizza over the weekend, and an ice cream cone. (It's just so hot here...and we were out house-shopping, and I caved....for the record though, it was not an impulse decision. I weighed the pro's and con's and decided to have a small treat)...and it was delicious. Next time though, I'll try to stick to soy ice cream. I'm making an attempt to go vegan at least part of the time.
I'm stuck in training tonight, so I'm not sure if i'll work out, but I will get back to the gym (or park, lol) tomorrow or Thursday, and I can definitely go on Saturday.
How are my friends doing?
