  • Hey ladies, no time for personals tonight. Its almost 1230. Got day 11 done. Im not really into doing 30ds now that I have the trampoline but I am going to keep going with it. Almost half way thru, dont wanna stop now. Plus I need the inches to come off. Saw a video of myself today that my sister took and I look HUGE. That will definitely motivate me. We swam today, gonna go again tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow. I will post more then. Goodnight.
  • maddiesmom - you are such a workout stud - I'm very impressed! And yes - we're definitely on for miles. I'm going to try for 3.5 today and gradually up my mileage a little. Now the trick will be getting out the door before it gets too hot!

burgundy - keep up the good work with 30ds - I'm sure you'll see great results.

mygrits - how's that carpet looking?

fresno - what's on for you today?
  • Dance: Thanks! I actually enjoy my workouts because I realize that I'm definitely healthier and the exercises don't have me huffing and puffing like they used to. I actually don't mind working out! Who woulda thought? I know Jeff has a lot to do with that - he pushes me and knows what to do to get engaged and challenged. It's really hot here today (90 with high humidity) so we will see how those miles work. Since I work out in the "performance area" of the gym that doesn't have a/c, I'm getting used to the heat. Last night it was almost 100 in the gym and I was drenched in sweat when I left. Now when I go home to the 74 degree house, it feels cold!

Food today, same as always. Really gotta find another protein source I like:
B: Protein shake blended with banana and fresh strawberries
    S: Almonds
L: Chicken breast on Arnold flatbread, cherries, baked lays
    S: orange, grapes
    D: Chicken, fresh veggies
W: 2 miles if I don't die from heat exhaustion! LOL If not, Jeff always posts a workout of the day on his FB page.
  • Hi ladies!
Well, the stubborn scale is at 171 today, but I did have a LOT of salt yesterday, so I'm sure it's water weight.
Today's going well! Someone made a comment about my weight loss, and I've only been back on the wagon for maybe a week or so. So, that made me feel good.
Also, here is my meal list for yesterday:

    B: oatmeal w/soy milk
L: Sugar snap peas, carrots, yogurt
    S: Reduced fat Triscuits
D: sushi (hence the salt...soy sauce ) and vegetable yakisoba

    Today:
B: Kashi Go Lean Crunch w/soy
    L: Bean/cheese burrito
    S: fruit
D: probably will be pasta (whole wheat) with marinara/mushroom sauce or a veggie burger or (fake) chicken patty

I'm going to make a mad attempt at hitting the gym tonight! lol
Also, I have been drinking Vitamin Water Zero...my favorite being the orange and the lemonade. Has anyone else tried them? I think they're GREAT!

How are you all doing this afternoon?
  • Hey girls!

fresno - how did that mad attempt go? Hope you made it/will make it!

maddiesmom - good luck with your miles tonight - I'm glad I got mine over with this morning - it got up to 100 today.

Food is fine - in fact I'm behind on calories for the day, probably because of the heat.

Hope you all have a nice evening...
  • Hi Ladies,

Dance, hows Micky Mouse? Or is it Minnie? LOL........sorry, I couldn't resist. Good for you getting your miles done early! I use to love to walk/jog early in the morning.........

Well, this will be quick, but today was busy. I got the carpet done, and it looks great, but may do it again next week to see if I can get any more deep dirt. TOM came and boy did he ever mess up my day of doing anything. So no workouts and no pool ;-( I am hoping for the gym tomorrow, but we will see. I am down 3 more lbs and hopefully that will go up after TOM leaves!

I'll check back tomorrow, need to get some sleep. Nite.
  • mygrits - woohoo for 3lbs - you are doing great! No wildlife sightings indoors today, thank goodness, but it looks like we'll be experimenting with some have-a-heart traps this weekend. could be an adventure

Off to soak in the tub before bed. Am thinking about a quick run tomorrow morning if I can get up early enough - we'll see...
  • Thanks, dear! Unfortunately, I was on call for my job, and was called in for five hours last night. So not only did I not work out, I snacked (healthy stuff, at least) when I got home, since I was exhausted and super starving.
That being said, 170.5 again today. Bummer!
Going out of town until tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to!
    How are you all doing?
Hope you have a nice Friday!!
  • Morning, girls!

Scale says 169.7 this morning so back in the 160s by a tiny margin! No run today after all but I think I need a rest day after the longer run yesterday.

    Food plan today:
    B: lf yogurt, strawberries
    S: string cheese, almonds
L: turkey chili over brown rice
D: grilled chicken breast, avocado and tomato, handful of chips and salsa (we're going to a mexican place with some healthy options)

Happy Friday - anyone have fun plans for the weekend? ETA: We're going to see Inception tonight, going to a friend's b-day happy hour tomorrow (I'll bring healthy snacks) and I'm joining a few marathon-running friends for a hike on Sunday. I'm a little worried they'll kick my butt but we'll see how it goes...
  • Dance: Congrats on being in the 160's!!! Sounds like you are going to have a fun/busy weekend! Let me know how Inception is - sounded interesting. I rarely get to go out and see a movie, so I'm always looking for ideas.

Sandy: Congrats on the loss! You are going to pass me up any day now! Glad you were able to get some things done around the house. I hate cleaning carpets - Maddie ends up spilling 5 minutes after it's done!

Fresno: You will be in the 160's very soon. You can do it! What is your food/exercise plan today?

So, I'm POP today. A friend of mine called and asked to go to lunch (even though I brought mine with me). We were going to meet at Friday's for a salad, but then I thought - do I really need that? I called her back and convinced her to come to my office for lunch. So, still on plan!!!

Going to dinner tonight with a friend I haven't seen in a year. She was always the same size as me, so hopefully she'll be happy for me, rather than those friends who resent the fact that you're losing. We're going to Chili's (her choice), so I found the 1 item on the menu that I can have (with certain changes - ok a LOT of changes!) Tomorrow is my company picnic and then a birthday party for one of Madeline's friends. Sunday is a city carnival, that we're taking Madeline to, weather permitting. Busy busy!

Question of the day! Have you ever looked at the nutritional information for a restaurant, etc. that you used to go to a lot, then get sickened by the amt of calories and fat that you ate without realizing?? Ex: When I looked at Chili's menu, I found that their appetizer platter had about 100 grams of fat and a TON of calories. I used to eat that ALL the time. Makes me sick! I looked at the kids menu and the grilled cheese and fries has 41 grams of fat! What was I feeding my kid?!?! I basically decided, eating out is not going to be happening much anymore.
  • maddiesmom - totally agree about being appalled by menu info - Panera's salads (not the one you order) were a shocker for me - I always figured those would be healthy options. I think I usually get either grilled salmon and broccoli or a small steak and broccoli when I go to chili's and am traveling for work. Good luck tonight!

I'm bound and determined to get back to the 165 on my ticker - I think that was my original goal weight. I was starting to fit into some smaller clothes and I think that's going to be my major incentive to get moving - I'm bored with my closet contents but don't want to waste money buying clothes for this size. Anyone else have this problem? I'm also a little worried about never getting to fit into the skinnier clothes I've bought on super sale over time. Oh well, we'll get there eventually, right girls?
  • Dance-Im trying to keep up 30ds. Ive been doing it but just have to push myself to get it done. You are so close to your ticker weight again. Im still around 194 so we both need to push hard and lost 4 lbs to get back to our ticker weights. I am so bored with the contents of my closet too. I gave my mom and sister some stuff I was tired of and dont wear.

Vicky-did you get your miles in yesterday? I am gonna get back to walking SOON!!!!! I'll need you and Dance as miles buddies. I think I am gonna shoot for Monday. Have fun with your friend, hopefully she will be happy for you. To answer your question, yes, I have looked at restaurant NF and cant believe I used to eat out so much. We hardly ever eat out anymore just so I know what I am eating when we are home.

Fresno-I bet your weight will be back down after the salt from the sushi leaves. I've had the vitamin waters. There are a few I like but dont have them often. Im trying to drink mostly water and get away from the powerade and gatorades.

Sandy-Oh you can come do my carpet now. I havent shampooed mine in a while. Hope you can kick TOMs butt and get a workout in today. Wow 3 more lbs, are you close to onederland now?? I see it says you are 207 under your avatar.

My mom, sister and niece left this morning, so its been a quiet day around here. I have some post-company cleaning to do but not too into that right now. It will get done this weekend. Gonna go grocery shopping tomorrow and get some healthy stuff, then will have to go to the farm market on Wednesday.

Our lawn mower quit on us so we have a jungle going on outside right now. Gotta take it in probably Monday. You cant even tell I have a garden right now cos the grass is so tall.

Didnt eat perfectly while my family was here so I have to get back on track now. 4 lbs to ticker. Im gonna jump later and do day 13.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Got day 13 done, I was a sweaty mess. 2 more days and Im gonna do measurements, hope to see some results. But if not, oh well. Have a great night everyone.
  • Morning, girls!

We set up the have-a-heart trap last night and found a little mousie in there this morning. We'll go drop her off in the park after we finish our coffee. Saw Inception last night - interesting idea and entertaining in parts but a bit long to hold my interest completely. Am planning on going to Zumba later this morning and then maybe a short walk in the late afternoon. What's everyone else up to today?

I was thinking last night as I picked up a few things from the grocery store about how my grocery shopping habits are completely different without my even having to think about it consciously - I just automatically buy lots of fruits and veggies and not a whole lot else. Have you guys noticed that your grocery lists have changed totally? Is there anything you don't buy at all anymore?

burgundy - how are you doing in your quest to get back to 194? I've never used a trampoline for exercise - do you jump up and down for a set amount of time? Seems like it would be great for your calves and thighs.

fresno - have you busted through to the 160s? Hope so!
  • Dance-YES there is so much difference in my shopping now, I bypass all the unhealthy stuff and go to the produce section now. Its great. On the trampoline, I am trying to jump 30 minutes a day. I jump up and down, side to side, do jump n jacks(which is hard on there) and all different stuff to get my heart pumping. Plus its fun so doesnt really seem like a workout. I definitely feel stronger in the bottom half of my body.

Did a little grocery shopping today, should be good for a couple weeks. I got some lettuce and green beans out of my garden today. The tomatoes are getting big and I'm seeing a few peppers. There is just so much grass in there, might get in there and do some weeding later this evening.

Chris wants to go out to dinner tonight(something I said I didnt want to do much of) but that will be the only time this week. The place we are going has lots of healthy options so I should be good.

Day 14 is done and in the morning I will do my measurements. I'll let you girls know how that goes. The scale was still at 194 but if the inches are coming off, I will be ok with that.

I'll check in later, hope you're all having a great weekend. Off to jump!!!
  • Dance: Glad you caught your little "friend." Must be a little bit of relief knowing that he's gone. Did you make it to Zumba?? I also notice that my shopping habits have changed - I only buy fresh produce and pretty much avoid all the middle aisles that have all the not-so-good for you foods. I find if I don't have it in the house, I don't crave it.

Allison: You are totally rocking the 30DS!! I still haven't pulled it out since the first time I did it. Not sure why I haven't tried - you are inspiring me so perhaps I'll give it a try. Won't be able to do it 30 days in a row - with my workouts from Jeff, I'd probably have a heart attack! LOL

Today was a super busy one for me. Weighed in at 197 still - not suprising with TOM. Hoping to see a loss next weekend. So, got up this morning and did 3 miles (ran 2.5 - a new record!). Not bad considering I haven't run in 2 weeks. Then had to get the family ready for my company picnic - all I ate was a burger, a small portion of pasta salad and a pickle. Drank tons of water - it was 90 here again. Then had a bday party for Maddie's friend and I ate way too much - 1 wing and thigh of fried chicken (didn't eat all the skin), 1 italian beef and a small helping of pasta. Shared some birthday cake with Maddie. Oh well, it was my one cheat meal - back on track tomorrow!

So..........not sure what is going on, but in the past couple of days, I've been getting tons of compliments from people. 4 co-workers have come up to me saying I look "fabulous" "great" and my SIL said "amazing" (she saw one of my new pics on FB). It's definitely a nice ego boost and makes me feel good that people are noticing. I don't think it's necessarily the weight loss, I think I'm just starting to gain more confidence so people are noticing more. Does this happen to anyone else? Makes me want to work harder!

What's everyone's plan for Sunday??? Anyone going to do 3 miles with me??
