well i only got up to 4. better than 2, back when i started this challenge. but i honestly haven't been as diligent as I should. I average about 2 p/u days a week lately, and I really haven't been pushing myself on the days I do get around to it. so I guess this was a bit of a wake up call for me! i'm going to continue on w knee push ups, and work through the 6 weeks, then maybe try to go back to square 1 with manly man p/u's!
thanks for the extra little challenge w/in a challenge, knobhdy!
I am totally feeling it in my abs and lower back, but mostly my abs. I kept trying to keep them tight while I was doing the push-ups, cause if I didn't it felt like my stomach was going to rip out of my body. I barely make it though some of the sets, and with not so great form at that.
Still I am plugging away. I am going to make sure to spend one additional week for each column above the one I test in to for each week of the challenge. (I.e. I tested into column 2 of week one, so next week I will do column 3 of week one before moving on to week 2).
Sure, it will take me more than 6 weeks to get through the challenge (like ti hasn't already been longer than 6 weeks from when I started ) but I will be much stronger for it, and apparently have a stronger core, which is definitely a good thing.
i'm on day 2 of... basically my own thing that i'm making up, LOL! for some reason the jump between weeks 3 and 4 is too much for me. i can't seem to get past it. but i'm still doing my push ups!
i'm so impressed w you doing manly man p/u's and getting through the whole first week! that's amazing!
I am also totally making it up as I go along. But I am also seeing results so it is still rewarding, even though I am not moving through the weeks as quickly as they want me to.
Yesterday I was at strength training class and we did 45 seconds of push-ups. I did knee push ups because I really worked my arms and shoulders over the weekend. I did 45 seconds and I was only starting to get a bit tired at the very end. I probably could have gone for another 15 or even 30 seconds.
When I first started I could do maybe 5 seconds of push-ups. It made me feel so buff.
WOW knobhdy!!! you're doing so well, staying on track and getting buff! I've completely fallen off this challenge! I got a new serving job that requires me to lift heavy trays, and I am sore for 2 days after I work... I'm getting some guns, just not pushing up. I'm planning to hop back on the challenge in a month or 2, once my arms get used to the trays keep posting tho, it's good motivation!
Hi ladies. I am glad to hear I am not alone here. I am actually up to 20 Manly man push ups in a row. or I was. I wasn't good last week and I think I managed to do one day out of the three.
I was totally psyched to be back on schedule and committed this week when.......
I broke a toe on Sunday!
So no manly man push ups for a while, but I can do knee push ups as long as I can careful to keep my bad to toe off the floor. I did some for fun yesterday (yes, I did just say that I did push ups for fun...) and I was able to do 30 (knee push ups) before I even got tired.
I am actually having a lot of fun with this challenge, even if it is slow going.
Oh this is so cool, ty for posting about it! I'm on week 3/col 3 of the squats and week 1/col 1 of wussy (ok the non manly man) pushups. I told my old training partner (different countries or we'd still be at it) about wanting to do 'proper pushups.. a lot of em' and he replied immediately.... What?? With YOUR boobies?? Ha! Told him just wait.. a few weeks You ladies are such an inspiration to me, Thank You!
