emccoy ~ Hey you! No worries at least you are getting back on track, that is what is important. You can do this!

musiclover ~ Way to go on the loss. Keep up the good work and you will see that goal soon.

Jacqui ~ Woohoo! and on another pound biting the dust. Whew girly you are on a roll!

crazymomma
~ I commend you on the way you handled that situation and I honestly, think I will try that the next time my 6 yr. old doesn't want to help my 9 year old clean their room. Thanks and you are doing a fabulous job!!!

As for me, I've been going through old pictures today and kinda wanted to post some. I'm not entirely comfortable doing so in the mini goal thread, but thought I would share it with you gals.

I've lost around 14 pounds since I joined 3FC, but I was around 250 when I started so-so dieting in February. So I've really lost a total of thirty "something" pounds. I really didn't realize how big I was until I compared some pictures today to a few in February of this year. At any rate, here we go

This is at the end of February this year..

and this is today...

If I would have thought about it, I would have taken the band off and shown off my uberattractive white ring on my arm. At any rate, after a rough week, going through the old photos definitely lifted my spirits. You gals keep me going everyday and knowing I have to come to this thread and report progress, keeps me accountable. I still have a long way to go, but with you gals around, I'm not at all worried about not hitting my goal. So thanks!

WOWWWW, Delphi!!! You look GREAT!! You are doing such a wonderful job!! (And btw, you have lovely hair!) I agree with you that coming here makes all the difference! It helps to keep me motivated and gives me inspiration! Everyone is so supportive! And the exercise thread, why, there are days when it solely keeps me exercising, so yes, you ladies are all key to my accountability as well! And I know that I will finally succeed this time!

E.mccoy, please don't feel bad! We have all been through it!! We are just so glad you came back, because we'd love to help you in any way we can! What kind of weight loss plan are you following? Do you count calories, do Weight Watchers, do South Beach, Atkins, or another program? I wonder if maybe the plan you're using just isn't the right one for you, which is why you're having a tough time sticking with it. I have tried lots of different plans, and it wasn't until I read books about the glycemic index and insulin resistance that I realized I crave carbs, and yet simple carbs are the worse thing for me! I can't eat just small portions of simple carbs. I can't eat 100-calorie packs! Those foods cause me to be hungry ALL the time! So like when I was doing WW and trying to eat anything, (as long as I stayed within the points), it just wasn't right for me because the simple carbs and processed foods caused me big problems, and when I tried to do Atkins and completely stay away from all carbs, I wasn't satisfied because I not only wanted but I needed carbs. I've finally found the solution for me, which is eating whole foods with a balance of protein, complex carbs and fats, and finally I'm not hungry all the time! I haven't cut out all simple carbs or processed foods because I do have a couple of favorites, but they are so limited now and are combined with proteins (to offset insulin spikes) that thankfully, they haven't been a problem for me! I did have to completely give up my favorite drink, which I had been drinking for decades--Diet Dr. Pepper--because it's a trigger for me! Some people say that it's all a matter of calories in/calories out, but for someone who has insulin issues, what kind of calories you consume does matter. It can be the difference between success and failure! In any event, you CAN do this!! There is nothing wrong with you!! You just have to find what works best for you. And like I was just saying to Delphi, it really does help to post here every single day if possible, because it's amazing how it helps to keep us accountable! We are very glad to see you!

Musiclover, woohoo!!! How exciting that you are that close to your goal!! With only a week left, I doubt I'll be losing 4 more lbs to reach mine, but I am hoping for maybe 2 lbs so that I can get into the 180s! It's been a couple of years since I've been there, so that would be exciting!

girls!

I actually went to the gym yesterday! I ended up walking the track for over an hour. I checked out the steam room, and god it was SOOO steamy, I loved it! But....it's coed. Big, hairy half naked men. Ugh.

The squats challenge is KILLING ME! My thighs were so freakin sore yesterday, I could barely walk. TOM started two days ago and totally f-ed up my WI. Stupid jerk.

I got a new computer! It was a total surprise too. The door rang Thursday morning and it was a FedEx guy saying 'I got your new computer!' and I'm like 'What computer?' I was in the process of trying to buy a computer through my union and paying it through payroll deduction but I was waiting on my payroll card. Apparantly, they sent the info to Dell before me and Dell went ahead and shipped my computer! I checked with both Dell and the canteen and they both have the order, the computer I picked out. Oh well. It's kinda cool. I've never had a brand new computer. The flat screen is so cool!

*sigh* I wish I could do personals but I'm at work and this thread moves so fast that when I do have the time, there are SO many to write!

Good evening girls! How was everyone's Saturday? I hope fantastic! I hope your night is going well/goes well too!

Jacqui~ girl you're wasting away! Another pound gone?! Woo Hoo!! That ROCKS!!! I totally know what you mean about the exercise thread keeping you motiviated to work out! I am so glad I joined these challenges!

Musiclover~ you're so close!!! Keep up the great work!!!

E.Mccoy~ aww, hang in there hun! We've all been there! Trust me, I've been off and on this wagon many times. I find that if I slip up after a few days that it helps to take a break and really look at why I'm slipping up. For me, and for others I'm sure, sometimes you just have to take weight loss as it comes. Sometimes there's bigger fish to fry (like me finally getting back on anti-depressants) and weight loss kind of has to take a back seat to the other things in life--kwim? Either way, hang in there! You CAN do this! And we are here for you 100%!!

Delphi~ O M Goodness!! LOOK at YOU!! You look fantastic! Congrats on coming so far and thank you for sharing those pics! They're totally inspiring! And Jacqui is right, your hair is gorgeous!!! Wow...seriously, what a difference in those pics! Yowza!!

Jasonslea~ congrats on the new computer! What a great surprise! Flat screens are cool aren't they?

Well first of all, thank you ladies for kind words regarding my son. He's really a sweetheart and the most lovey kid you'll ever meet--but he's stubborn and dramatic as well so he can be a bit of a challenge at time.

Had a great day today, stayed op, got my work out in early--which, I gotta tell ya, is making me feel weird about not working out at night! I feel like I'm skipping it or cheating somehow! LOL Not only did I get my cardio in, but I also worked my butt off (oh how I wish it were literally!) ripping out shrubs in the flowerbed! Our flower bed now has just one lonely shrub. After I dug them all out, I dug new holes and replanted them. So help me, I don't want to see another shovel for a while--unless it's to dig in the fresh new soil we just had delivered, that's easy peasy--nothing like the rock hard clay crud we have.

Also, my ils came over for dinner and it was wonderful. Hubby bought chips and I could have smacked him, but I resisted temptation and stayed strong. Thankfully my fil didn't bake a cake this time! I got the most wonderful compliment from him tonight too (my fil that is)! He said, "I can't tell you how different you look! I mean, you look like the girl in California who married my son [again]." of course he was talking about how I looked almost 10 years ago--I laughed and said thanks, but that that was stretching it a bit, he then said, "no, seriously, you loook 10 years younger!" Awww, I love that man!!!!

Well girls, I've written another book--sorry about that! Have a great night and sleep well ladies!!!

Well my weight is just going nowhere- I havent started TOM- should have been on or around the 12th, this is VERY unusal. I am sure that is what is messing with my lack of weight loss. It's not because I haven't been exercising, although I do pretty good Sun- Wed and then don't do anything out of the ordinary for Thurs-Sat

Congrats on the new computer. And just think even though you had to buy it, you at least get the excitement of being suprised about it. How many people can say that? lol

Well first off let me say congrats on that ticker- wow! only 1 more lb to go and your May goal will be reality!!!

As far as running, in school I used to be in so much pain in my sides when we had to do track and field for PE class. I HATED that stuff. So it's really shocking that I can do as much as I do without pain in my side. I have enjoyed going out and walking/jogging and that has been such a suprise.

Keep up the great work You WILL get to your goal this month and beyond- I mean no excuses now, right... seeing as you are no longer OBESE- WAY TO GO!!! Where did you find the numbers for that? I need to look up my info on one of those charts.

Supachix~ oh girl, I soooo know what you mean about not being able to jog!! I swear, I never thought I would jog again! And this coming from a girl who used to run cross country! Honestly, my knees just couldn't take it. But, I'm getting there and you will too! Just one step at a time--you keep walking! Before you know it, you'll be speed walking and jogging will come. Take your time--you're doing fantastic!!

Ladies, I have an announcement to make. I am no longer Obese!!! I am hereby officially Overweight!!!

Also, I have met my May weight loss goal! I weighed in at 176.6 today so I'm actually under my 177 goal!!! I can't believe it!---Whoa there--I just checked, I re-did my goal when I got the new scale, so Officially I have .6 lbs to go to make goal. But, I am only .6 away from making my goal so I'm still stoked! (Jacqui, maybe we should change my original goal on the list? And maybe I should change my ticker...I put in 176.6 but it rounded down...)

I have also upped my jogging to 15 mins total! I look a little less like this: and more like this: now--so not quite as drunk looking!

Yay!!! Jodi got her siggy!!! Woo hoo!!! Congrats!

I'm sure TOM is messing with you--don't you just hate how that stuff messes with your weight? Be sure to take your measurements though--you might be gaining muscle and that could translate into numbers not moving on the scale.

As for the BMI #'s, my scale actually has them on it, but you can google BMI Calculator and a million will pop up. I usually try to find one that specifies male or female, age and activity level. Here's one: http:// www .bcm .edu/cnrc/caloriesneed.htm (just remove the spaces )

Well ladies, it's my Official WI and measurement day!! And I am extremely proud to report that I have Officially...

Met My May Goal!!!!

I am now down to 176! A solid, honest to goodness 176 too, no .2's or .4's behind it! YAY!!! I honestly didn't think I could it! And I could not have done it without you girls!!! You ladies have kept me motivated and positive about this whole thing since the start and I can't thank you enough!

I also lost another 4.5" this week which brings my total inches lost to 27.25" since January!!!

So, that's it for me. Again, thank you all for being so supportive, inspiring and just plain Flippinfantasticawesomespectacularrad!! (that's for you Delphi! )

Now go out there and have a wonderful day! Put a smile on your face, give yourself a giant pat on the back for all that you do and be good to yourself!!! And of course...

Drink Your Water!!!!

Supachix ~ on the siggy! I'm at a standstill myself so I definitely relate. I'm ready to chuck my scale and buy another.

Crazymomma ~ Thanks for the compliment on the pictures! And YOU GO GIRL on meeting your goal. I'm sooooooooooo proud of you! I'm so glad that other people are noticing your hard work. It is so nice to hear those compliments from family and friends. You are well on your way chicky! Did I mention how freakin' proud I am of you?

As for me, today was weigh in and still noda...not one lousy pound! Oh well, I got up and did an hour of cardio with My Fitness Coach and that lady kicks my butt...the last thirty minutes all I did was sweat... but that's how I like it.

Oh, this is a bit embarassing, but I kinda had a problem with constipation the past few days. (hence me asking about detoxing the other day ) So I uped my fiber intake, but does anyone know something simple I could eat or take that may help with this.

Well, I look great, I don't care what my stingy scale says. I see it in my face, arms, shoulders and some of the less looked places as well. So my scale can kiss my a doulble s!! At any rate, you ladies have a great day and remember your smiles.

CMof4, I am SO proud of you!!! CONGRATS!! That is SO fantastic!! Now, I have one question so I can give you a clean sweep of MET GOAL!!s. Did you have "more" fruits and veggies this month? (Tell me yes! ) You have just done a GREAT job this month!!

Delphi, When I first changed the way I eat, I went for about a month and a half battling constipation. I tried everything. I drank lots of water, I ate broccoli, I ate yogurt, I even resorted to prunes and prune juice. Finally one night my DH was grilling out and I had bought some red, yellow, and orange peppers, so I cut them up, put them in a disposable tinfoil pan, added in some vidalia onions, put in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a 1/2 teaspoon of italian salad dressing, mixed it all up, and he roasted them on the grill as he cooked the chicken, and remarkably, those peppers not only tasted delicious, but they solved my constipation problem! I don't know why, but I was thankful! So you might give peppers a try.

Congrats on getting your siggy, Supachix! Your tickers look good!!

As for me, I have dropped another 1 lb!! Unbelievable!! That's 3 lbs in 3 days after just commenting that I was stalled!! Woohoo!! I am one pound away from the 180s!!

Okay, ladies, it's getting about that time when people start meeting goals! If you meet a goal, please put the word "goal" in your description so that it will trigger my brain to recognize that I need to change your goal on the list to red and put MET GOAL!! next to your name! I don't want to miss anyone!! It's so exciting to see people meeting their goals!!
