it's 11:30pm here and i'm wanting my dark chocolate...but staying strong!
in other news, today i joined myfooddiary.com! it's a website that helps you keep track of all the nutritional aspects of what you eat, not just calories, and also exercise. my mom started using it last year and my sister and i made fun of her, but after my revelation today i decided it would be good to have some accountability. well, i LOVE it! unfortunately, you have to pay, and it's not cheap. but it's so fun to use and i think it will really help me know exactly what i have to do and stay on plan! after entering all the food i ate today and the exercise i did, it came up with a detailed chart analyzing how i was doing in terms of fat, protein, cholesterol, vitamins, calcium, fiber, etc...and gave me tips like "Saturated fats only accounted for 8% of your calories. Good job staying below the 9% limit!" and "Not enough breakfast calories. Research has shown that skipping breakfast or eating a very small breakfast may increase your risk for obesity by as much as fourfold. We recommend eating a minimum of 200 calories for breakfast. You consumed 125 calories." etc....then there is also a cool little section that says "If every day were like today..." and then tells you how many pounds you would lose per week, what date you would reach your goal weight, how much you would weigh in one month, three months, etc. There are so many things on the site, I feel like I could just spend all day on it! Anyway I feel much better now that I will really know for sure if I am in a good calorie range and everything else. I highly recommend it to anyone willing to fork over the cash! (p.s. I swear I don't work for them!) Hope everyone is having a happy, healthy saturday! |

FSA, yep, chickie, get that water in! I just read another article today about how water is needed for proper metabolism. So drink up! :coffee2: (I feel like the "water police," lol! I think CMof4 is on the force too, lol!) Michelle, way to go all day without chocolate!! Now, resist that final temptation! The website you're using sounds like a really good one! I can see how it would be motivational! I just got my DH to pay for a Y membership. I don't think he's ready for a paid website membership too, lol! But I'm glad you're enjoying it! :) A big hi to all our ladies! I hope you're all having a successful weekend! |
thanks everybody for being supportive...and here it is after 8 and I have been non stop all day...still gotta hang my curtains in my bedroom and try to watch a movie with my DBF!!! Sounds like everyone had a good day!!! Will check in tomorrow...have a good night!!
|
Michelle ~ Way to stay strong! Keep it up! You're almost through day one!!! :)
Jacqui ~ I have been known to be quite bossy when it comes to water intake, so yeah, I'll join the force with ya! ;) Just gimme a bull horn and I'm all set! LOL Jacque ~ wow, it sounds like you've been productive all day! Wish I could say the same. I managed to go to Sams Club and the grocery store with the girls, but then that was about it. Enjoy the movie! What are you going to watch? Well, it's been a weird day. Hubby and the boys were out watching the Indy 500 qualifying races all day so the girls and I did some shopping (not the fun kind ;)) then when we got home I fed them and then we all took a nap. ?!?!?! A nap? I actually took a NAP? I can't remember the last time I took a real, honest to goodness nap! I needed it though, I was beat! I got up no fewer than 6 times with the girls last night. Hubby's sick and he sleeps through most everything anyway, so I didn't bother trying to wake him to help. Now, tonight will be a different story! LOL Anyway, I didn't get any water in until way later than I'm used to and I didn't even eat lunch until 3:00! So by the time dinner was finished I was under 1000 cals and knew I would have to make some more up after my workout so I downed a protein shake after I did the 30 Day Shred--now, an hour later, I'm still stuffed and I'm still finishing my water! (*glug, glug, glug*) I'll be sure to get my water in earlier tomorrow though--I'm going to a spin class with my friend and she warned me that I needed to 'bring water and a towel or you'll be sorry' so, I'm guessing I'll be doing a little sweating? LOL ;) All in all though, a good day as far as staying op. :) How's everyone's weekend going? I hope great! Well, I'm going to shoo my hubby upstairs since he's snoring in his recliner and I'm going to watch Desperate Housewives from last week! Have a great night ladies!!! :) |
Back again . Figured I would come in and hang a bit before calling it a night. I am heading to bed early (or plan too anyways).
Michelle, that site sounds real neat! Congrats on signing up there! It sounds so helpful, thanks for sharing with us and giving us some inside info. Wtg on avoiding the chocolate tonight. Speaking of which, I had one of t hose jello puddings (finally tried this kind), it's the sugar free double choc. OH ladies, I had some bad bread cravings earlier t oday, it's all the breads fault! lol. My mom came over yesterday and I thought she was staying for dinner (she thought so too at first but then got very tired and decided to head back and rest) and I picked up some bulkie rolls(6 to a bag) because she would of liked a burger (and her bread! there was none for her at lunch). To make a long story short, I was thinking of burgers all day in a nice big roll! God! Those stupid rolls in the house! I remembered what I said earlier to one of you about getting the sweets out of the house and the earlier the better! I told DH about the bread and all and he said he will take it to his parents in the morning when he goes. Good! OUt of sight, out of mind! I don't know what happened but the craving subsided later on, it was when I was hungry that I was thinking about it so I ate a little before dinner to curb my hunger. I was fine after that. Jacqui, working on the water as we type! lol :) Need to bring another jug up here, I keep a gallon up here and refresh my cup every so often. jacquee, we ordered a movie on ppv and watched "The Day the earth stood still". It was good! We just finished watching it a little while ago. Hope you guys found a good movie and are having a nice night. crazymamaof4, wishing a speedy recovery for your DH. wtg on an OP day : ). Been a good day here girls, on plan. DH and I stopped by a store and I found a few cover ups in the bathing suit section which I absolutely needed. I wear them around the house sometimes if I'm sunning b ut getting ready for hot weather and the beach. I really enjoy taking long walks on the shoreline. One is a little thicker, white...good for now. The other is white and very very thin cotton with buttons in the front and perfect for hot weather. Urockmom, I got my beach walk stuff! lol :) THe other is black cotton witha cool designed collar. I found them at Marshalls ladies and paid really good prices. The beauty of it is that they can be worn as shirts as well and I love long shirts with pants, etc. I lucked out because I have been looking for tops for monthssssssss! I plan to enjoy the summer , they just go bye so fast. I don't want to be squacking about not having something to wear...etc. No excuses! ;) That's all my news for now. Thanks for being here girls :grouphug: Delphi, group hug! |
Good Morning Ladies! And it is a groovy morning indeed. Who doesn't want to start Mother's Day with a weigh in...weighing in at...wait for it....three pounds lighter.:carrot::carrot::carrot: and thats not all, along with the three pounds, I also won a four to five day cruise, with you guessed it..TOM!
Any other morning waking up to TOM would have been offset with grumbling and perhaps some mild under the breath profanity, but not today! Nope today, if I knew I wouldn't bust my rump, I would have attempted a few cartwheels. I'm sooo proud of myself but I'm thankful for you guys. You really have been pivotal to my success. Thank you all for supporting me daily, for inspiring me with your stories of triumph and for simply being here holding me accountable. [Insert group hug now]:hug::hug: I've hit my three pound goal for the month, however, with three weeks left, lets see if I can hit three more. ;) Fullsteamahead ~ I'm glad your husband is so supportive and the day the earth stood still is an AWESOME movie, I loved it, but here again, I'm a uber geek! :p *Note to self: Doing the wave, by yourself, does NOT have the same affect as an actual crowd.* Ok, so ladies, Happy Mothers Day! I hope you guys enjoy it and realize how important and special you are. Enjoy the day, drink plenty of water and remember to smile. ;) |
Delphi, congrats on the 3 lbs!! :cp: And congrats on meeting your goal!!! :cb: Woohoo!!! :yay: That is fantastic!! :carrot: Our first "Met Goal!!" of the month!! :broc: Definitely keep going, girlie!! :cheer3::cheer2::cheer3: Great job!! :congrat: (Losing 3 more lbs is covered under the "or more" part of your goal, but if you want me to add it as a new goal to the list just as a motivator, let me know!) :)
FSA, your DH sounds so supportive! I think that is so great! My DH is supportive too, but if I asked him to take all the bread over to his family's house, he'd look at me like I was a little :dizzy:! Lol! Great job on the water, lady!! :cp: CMof4, here ya go! :coach: Lol! :D Joci, that's what we're here for! You're doing a great job, chickie!! I lost another 1 lb this morning! Woohoo!! :carrot: I'm hoping when TOM officially ends, I'll lose more. So far this month, I've been pretty s--l--o--w on the ol' weight loss! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! |

FullSteamAhead I was still hanging curtains around 8:30pm and we got in bed right after that. Decided on Slumdog Millionaire, HOWEVER, we were so tired that we got about 20 minutes into it and fell asleep. We will watch the rest today. Love that movie!!! |

Congrats on the 1lb loss! :cheer2: :cheer3: :cheer2: :congrat: |

Know what you mean about things being slow. I really haven't been OP long, so to come to a stand still so early is very frustrating. :( :carrot:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!!!:carrot: |
Woo hoo what a way to wake up! Just look at everyone kickin' their cravings, losing weight--you're AWESOME!!!
FSA ~ congrats on avoiding those rolls, I walked by the bakery dept at the grocery store yesterday and the smell of the bread just about knocked me over it was so good! So I think you deserve a few gold stars for being so strong! And give a couple to your hubby for being so supportive! :) Delphi ~ 3 pounds down on the day that TOM arrives?! Yeehaw that rocks!!! Just imagine what your scale will say when TOM is over! ;) Congrats on the loss girlie and for making your goal!! :cheer: Jacqui ~ Congrats on the pound lost! TOM can sure mess with the old bod--I'm sure you'll see a drop once TOM's outta town. Hee hee, thanks for the bull horn now no one will be able to hide from my water rantings! LOL ;) Jacque ~ Ooh, I've been wanting to see that movie! Sorry you fell asleep so soon into it, when you do get to watch it, please let us know what you think. Well ladies, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! My youngest ds gave me a little cup of grass with a flower he made with his fingerprints stuck in the middle of it. :D Oh it's so cute! They took small cups and planted grass seed in them and had the kids decorate the outside of the cup with colored paper--hee hee, handmade gifts are the BEST! :) Woke up to 180.8 today so yesterday's bump up wasn't permanent--whew! Took my measurements and have lost another 4.5 ". So, all in all, a good week. I am a bit bummed that some of my body parts don't seem to realize that when I move them and force them to do exercises with weights that they are supposed to react by shrinking--not sit there and complain by being sore and staying the same size. Sheesh...stupid body parts. LOL I bought some heavier weights yesterday too, maybe that'll kick things up a bit. Well girls, I need to run, must get my breakfast in and get ready for the spin class...eek! Have a fantastic day and don't forget to... DRINK YOUR WATER!!! Ooh, look the bull horn worked! All caps! LOL ;) |

Delphi, okay! Your new goal is on the list! Good luck!! You can do it!! And yes, you may call me JD. :D
CMof4, LOL!! You're dangerous with that bullhorn, lol!! Love it! Congrats on the 180.8! :cp: Joci, yes, posting at the same time causes me to have to add or edit a lot of posts, lol! And it can be frustrating to lose weight slowly, :kickcan: but hey, it's a journey, so it's all good! :) |
Good morning ladies
:sunny: HAPPY MOTHERS DAY It is so nice to come in and read all of your posts, what a nice way to start the day. Delphi, congratulations on the 3lb. loss! :carrot::carrot::carrot: That is awesome! That is a great loss and w/Tom even! You met your goal early too! :cheer2: Super way to start the day. Regarding the movie, I loved it too so I must be an uber geek too, lol ;). The only thing I wished and was waiting for was to see what the alien really looked like in the end! Have a great day Delphi and congrats once again :). Jaqui, wtg on losing a lb. :carrot::carrot: You had a really good loss last month and maybe your body just took a little time to stabilize it all but you managed to move that scale downard again.. your doing great! :) Jaquee, I havn't seen that one yet! My DH was telling me that a lot of people really like that movie, "The slumdog millionaire". You must of needed the sleep, hope you caught up on some rest and are feeling all rested up and ready to enjoy your day : ). crazymamaof4, thanks! I told DH a few minutes ago what you said and he smiled, :). You too, good job on keep passing by that bakery and not stopping, oh the smell of those places...omg! lol. Congratulations on the inches lost :cheer2::cheer2: and the scale moving down for you too! Ladies, when I used to strength train in the past I used to do sets of 8-12 reps. The weights would be heavy enough so that my muscles would start fatiguing by the last reps. I really had worked my way up there and my muscles respond so fast! lol. ANyways, I am not looking to grow them so much but more tone them so I do many reps now , maybe 20 or 30(which is a lot) with lighter weights (more along the lines of Jacqui warners core workout). With me, I know when the weight becomes too light when I am not fatiguing at all after those reps and then I would increase it by very little. We've had a lot of injuries with the weights lately so just take it slow gals and remember to keep your heads facing forward when you work and never turn your head while lifting. A lot of you go to the gym and prob know this already and then some...much more than I do! Just becareful, that's all  OH, the bread! lol. DH just left and so did the bread! Thanks for the support girls, you ladies rock! Enjoy your day :) Chat soon. |
