wantstoloseweight ~ Welcome! I just rejoined this board a couple of weeks ago and this is my first challenge (along with the May exercise challenge) and let me tell ya, this is a GREAT bunch of gals!! Super supportive and inspiring! :)
|
Happy Friday to everyone,
Ive had a really good week so far. I have stayed within my calories and have gotten in lots of exercise without even going to the gym. I feel alot more confident now than I ever have in my life. Thank you all for the support. |
FSA thanks for posting that I will look on page 6 and see more about it. It is so hard to keep up with all the posts and sometimes I don't get to see every page- so it's great to have someone willing to help and let someone else know where something is.

RoweenaThanks for reposting the link. That program looks really interesting and when I was telling Breawna about it and explaining it, can you believe my 17 yr old son said "I wouldn't mind doing that with you guys". I am in shock! He has never really cared much about his being overweight before, but he has since he has started losing weight, and we don't know why. I guess it is something to do with his stage of growth because his features are even changing. But anyhow.... this is bringing our family together in a whole new way!!! :-)
[QUOTE=Rowenna;2733081Here is the link for the C25K if anyone's interested. Thanks FSA for keeping everyone informed! Glad everyone's doing well. I've had ups and downs lately. Hopefully today will be all up! Tomorrow is my weigh-in, and my number was so great last Saturday, I haven't seen anything so low all week. :( I know that it's not a big deal, I am doing well, but it would be nice to see a number around 107. Good luck all!
|
Crazymamaof4 I guess I missed it if you already said, but what kind of scales did you get? When I was in WW a few yrs back I found a WW scales at the department store and got it. I have to agree with you that it IS motivating to not have to wait for a whole pound to see that you are going in the right direction.
Just don't get too obsessive out those little smidgens if they go in the wrong direction one day. :-)
So, down a smidge more today (have I mentioned I love this scale?! ;) Seeing fractions drop instead of waiting for whole pounds is so motivating!), 180.8.Well ladies, as I mentioned, it was a crazy morning. I've got everyone in bed for naps and I think I'm going to join them!! I'll try to check in later girls, until then, be sure to... |
:Bravo:Ms Perception I remember the night I made my 10%- I still use the keyring I got even though I am about 15 lbs above that again. Do they still give the keyring or is it something else now?
It's an exciting time for you and to be leaving the 170's behind- :dancer: whoohoo You have the momentum, keep it up girl- hopefully your success will roll my way. :-) Jodi Quote:

Lewis- I am so happy for you making it to one-derland! :bravo: WTG!!!

Wantstoloseweight, welcome! I have added you to the list above! We're glad to have you!! :welcome2:
Supachix, good luck on the WI tomorrow!! :crossed: That is such great news about your son/brother wanting to join the two of you!! :cp: E.mccoy, congrats on having such a great week!! :carrot: And what wonderful news that you are feeling such confidence! Good for you!! :yay: Lea, I'm sorry you're feeling tired and it sounds like stressed, but that was nice of you to come and check in with us! Good job on maintaining for the week! :spin: Lewis, congrats again chickie! I'm so excited for you!! :woohoo: SuzyQ, congrats on your 1 lb loss!! Yay!! :yay: Struggling with the same lbs over and over can be frustrating but way to keep going!! :cp: NSM, 500 calories can be overcome. Don't fret about it. Instead just get back on plan and keep going! TOM can definitely be troublesome! I can do without sweets, except during that week, so I keep these Baskin Robbins hard candies (pralines and cream) around just for that reason. I pick them up at the Dollar Tree store and they are only 20 calories a candy and taste like ice cream to me! I am actually a chocoholic and I don't even crave chocolate when I pop one of these! I'm sorry that TOM is creating so much trouble for you, but know that we're rooting for you! :cheer: Lene, you made me laugh out loud with the water comment! Congrats on the 5 lb loss!!! Wow!!! :carrot::carrot: And for staying OP on water! :carrot: Great job!! Ms_P, Great job on reaching your 10% goal at WW :yay: and for being in the 160s!! Woohoo!! :broc: CMof4, I agree! This is a great bunch of gals!! :grouphug: There is so much great news! It's so inspiring! Great job ladies!! You rock!! |
morning ladies! so i just weighed in at the same weight i was at the beginning of the challenge. i have seen some lower numbers since then, mostly after exercising, but that is where i am now.
i think i went into this not knowing exactly how strict i needed to be, and now i know i need to step it up a level for week 2! for example...i am an actual chocoholic as well, under the best of conditions, and this week was TOM and the cravings were out of control. i got kind of panicky about craving it and ended up eating, over 3 days, an entire 1000-calorie slab of chocolate plus 6 truffles (probably another 600??) plus some nutella (another 600?). i also baked an almond-raisin bread this week, telling myself it was for my roommates, but of course i ended up eating plenty of it. not good. so for this week drastic measures are in order: NO CHOCOLATE. this is going to be very difficult. i expect to see actual withdrawal symptoms. but TOM will be gone, and it's only for 7 days...so i can do it, right? and of course no baking or baked goods. right now i am promising that i won't eat chocolate or baked goods, and if hypothetically i did i would have to report it on this board for you all to see. |
Gooooooooooooood Morning Chickies! The rain is pouring here and life is good.:dizzy: ;) Everyone looks like they are doing well. You guys are a daily inspiration for me. Soooooo, my friend sent me my birthday present early. I got a Wii, Wii Fit and two great books, One being the Body for Life for women and the other is the body sculpting bible for women. I'm stoked!:carrot::carrot::carrot: Definitely excited about adding some variety to my exercise routine and having those books to ward off boredom and the munchies.:p
One more day until my weigh in and I'm a bit nervous as I've only been down (unofficially) one pound on and off all week. But you know what, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I want to lose weight and the quicker the better, but at the end of the day, I chose to live a new lifestyle and I LOVE IT! The way I see, losing weight is just a bonus.;) You ladies have a great day, drink plenty of water and remember to smile. :) |
Yep, Michelle!! You now have a mini-goal for Week 2 of May! Consider it official! :coach: I'll even add my own to it. I want to shift my calories as an experiment, so I will do that this week. I want to eat my heaviest-calorie meals during breakfast and lunch and eat basically the calorie equivalent of a snack for dinner, keeping my other snacks throughout the day the same, and see what that does. So I will try that this week, starting today!
Michelle: Eat no chocolate or baked goods for Week 2 of May Jacqui_D: Eat heaviest-calorie meals of the day during breakfast and lunch for Week 2 of May There it is! Now, we'll expect an update!! Meet that mini-goal, girl! You can do it!! :cheer: Delphi, What wonderful gifts!! You must have a friend who cares VERY MUCH about you to buy you gifts that will benefit you toward leading a healthier lifestyle!! That's so great!! And I LOVE your new attitude about the weigh in!!! That, chickie, is the attitude that will turn your life around for good!! Good for you!!!! :carrot: :yay: :broc: |
Good morning ladies!!!
emccoy ~ isn't a great feeling to feel confident? I'm there too and it's been a looooong time coming! Great job on all the exercising and staying on plan! :) Supachix ~ good luck on your wi today! :) I mentioned the type of scale, but it got buried quick ;) It's a Taylor Cal-Max Electronic Scale. It can tell you your BMI (after you enter all the info) and how many calories you should consume to maintain your weight. I love that thing! :) I'm not sweatin' the fluctuations in the numbers much, I mean, it irks me to see it go up when I've been pop, but I also know that I'm building muscle and there are lots of little factors that go into your weight bobbling up and down. :) Michelle ~ from one choco-holic to another, hang in there girl! I know your pain. It used to be that I had to have a little bit of chocolate after nearly every meal! If I didn't have some, I'd bake something sweet and eat that. It was tough! Maybe try getting some of those 100 Cal snack packs with the little chocolate cookies? My lifesaver was chocolate pudding (fat free or sugar free 60-100 cals), I would have it every night after the kids went to bed--I looked forward to it all day. ;) Just take one day at a time, I KNOW you can do this! Before long you'll stop thinking about it, until then, you can always come here for pep talks! :) Delphi ~ Happy Pre-Birthday! :) You got some great stuff girl!!! I've been wanting the Wii fit, but still haven't talked hubby into it yet, be sure to tell us how you like it! I LOVE my Body for Life for Women book!!! Looooooooooove it! It is a wonderful read and has lots of great info in it! I started with Body For Life and then bought that one too. She talks about the different cycles in our lives and how weight gain/loss is different and what your body is going through. But the best part is the common sense info in it. All the stats about how what you eat and how much you exercise can drastically reduce certain diseases and such...I think it's a must read for anyone who is looking to get healthier! I love your attitude toward your weight loss journey--very true words. :) Well ladies, I'm up a bit today (181.2), not really worrying about it much as I was pop yesterday and did my workouts--I'm guessing that starting my water super late (I didn't start at my usual 8am, but rather at around noon) and I suspect that TOM is on it's way. I'm not sure these days when it's going to get here but if my grumpy mood the last couple of days is any indication, it'll be here soon--grrr. ;) LOL Plus I'm gaining muscle too! :D Tomorrow is the day I report to my friend with my weekly log of exercise and food. Included in the report are my measurements--I'm actually looking forward to measuring tomorrow to see if I've lost anymore inches! I know I've said it before ladies, but take your measurements! I'm tellin' ya, nothing is more motivating that seeing smaller numbers on the tape measure! Plus, on the weeks you don't see the scale budge, it's a great reminder that you are doing great things for your body by eating right and exercising! :) Well okay, I'll shut up now. :D Hope everyone has a great day and be sure to drink your water girls!!!!! If I don't check back tomorrow (which would be weird ;)) Happy Mothers Day to all you fantastic Moms out there!!! :) Have a fantastic day ladies!!! :) |
