Music~ good job on the loss :carrot:

Jacque~ We are neighbors! I live around HP too. It's nice to be able to just run over there whenever the mood strikes. I'd like to get to the Gardens this season. Go drink your water!!

Jacqui_D~ I was just looking at your ticker yesterday thinking "wow she is so close to her next goal" and look what happened!:dancer::flow2::flow2::flow1: You are such a motivating force on this board and we couldn't be prouder of you!:congrat:

Newshinyme 05-04-2009 03:23 PM

Oh goodness!
There was so much activity in here on the weekend! I try to stay away from the computer on weekends, so I am far far behind with all the posts.
Welcome to all the new people! to everyone else

Silly me posted my exercise here, but here's the new edited post:

My eating was almost totally on plan, but I still have not lost any for 3 weeks straight, hopefully, now that I am adding exercise again I will start seeing some progress. My new official WI day will be on Mondays, hopefully that will keep me more in line during the weekend. I also have decided that I will allow myself one meal off plan weekly instead of having little cheats here and there. An unofficial goal of mine is to keep up with my water intake, I can have really good days, but I can also have really low days if I am not mindful.

My starting weight for the challenge is: 174.6 lbs.

MrsHomeStretch 05-04-2009 03:23 PM

Good job everyone!!! It is so encouraging to read through how everyone is doing!

So, this weekend went really well for me!

Saturday morning I got up, went to the gym, did the elliptical for 40 minutes (500 calories), did a cool down on a stationary bike for 15 min (50 calories), and then went to a spinning class (750 calories). AND, I stayed in my calorie range of 1300 calories!

Sunday I went to the gym in the afternoon and did an hour & 20 minutes on the elliptical (1000 calories!) Then I did another 30 minutes on my treadmill when I got home.

It all paid off. This morning I got on the scale and I weighed 218.4. At the beginning of last week I was 223.8, so I lost a total of 5.4 pounds last week! :carrot:

Also, this morning my husband commented that my butt looked pointier? I don't really know what that means, lol, but I think it was good thing :D

I'm really proud that I ate well. Weekends are really the hardest. I was irritated because we went to Jersey Mike's to get a sandwich, and I couldn't believe there were 650 calories in it! I mean, I can make a sandwich at home for 250 calories with all the same stuff! Plus, I had a sweet tooth on Saturday so I was trying to find some low fat ice cream. It is really difficult to find anything reasonable. But, even though I was surrounded by temptations I made it through at 1300 calories a day.

So far today I have done 30 minutes on the treadmill (200 calories). I have taken in about 670 calories (breakfast/snack/lunch). I have a sweet tooth so I might indulge in half of a three muskateers for a snack :p

mcrunner 05-04-2009 03:47 PM

Time for this newbie to start getting used to checking in here and posting. While I'm not overly thrilled about how May has started for me, it could definitely be worse. But it hasn't been POP. We've had birthday parties and end-of-year parties for the boys all weekend and this morning. So, I've managed to avoid binging behavior (YEAH!!) but I've also definitely eaten more calories and more junkie food that normal. But all of that is behind me with a new week in front of me. Time for the fruits, veggies, water and exercise. Will take the boys running in the jogging stroller in a few minutes, with a good healthy dinner planned. I will weigh in tomorrow (doctor's appt!) morning and post then, and hopefully repost weight once a week or so. Looks like lots of you are doing awesome! Thanks for the inspiration. I need to start getting on here first thing in the morning...ya'll are great for my motivation!

FullSteamAhead 05-04-2009 06:11 PM

Hi girls :)

So nice to come in and read your posts, as always. Sounds like everyone is having a good day, I'm glad. Lot's to say, but let me start with personals and take it from there. I am just so thankful we have each other, as I know we all are. W e have a great thing going here ladies, let's keep the :flow1: going. Mcrunner, I couldn't agree more!

Jacquee, thanks :). Aunt Joci it is! : ). Hope your having a great day and made it to the store today. I'm good for a few days at least, whew! lol. Take care girl and give Sohpie a pat from me too!

Cakeeeeeeee, I miss you chicky! I know it, it's only been a few days but feels longer. You have been and are doing so awesome girl, you keep it rocking okay? and yes, keep on posting! I swear, it is one of the keys to success and besides........who is going to call me an animal?  keep it rockin' :).

Leneeeeeeeee, hi :) Happy day 1 of SBD. OMG girl! You have an extra seating at the dinner table? Really, that dinner sounds fab! wtg on a great first day thus far. So far so good here too, Lene it's the lack of starches that may get me (but hasn't yet). This plan is right up my alley as I l ove veggies, my lean proteins, blah blah blah.............so far so good! BUT, I did indulge in some starches over the weekend (yup and the white kind too) and along with the fluid retention and the rude awakening of that premature hot weather a week ago, okay let me put it this way........I had a tantrum, panicked at my pants feeling tight and the humidity in the air bothering me, being behind shedule, feeling myself slipping into starch land which means slipping into emotional la la land and more disappointment! Get it? With that being said, nahhhhhh, I don't miss a blessed thing! lol. I don't want to ever get into that hole again, bring it on SBD! lol. As for DH, I am fortunate there. He doesn't mind. He understands my plight and also likes to eat healthy with me. I admire you Lene, I know you have the family there and the extra temptations and yet you prevail. Keep up the awesome work and congrats on a good day one thus far andddddddd your water. I honestly felt myself slipping Lene and it scared me...the rest is history so thanks again and I know we wiill do it! GIve me a few days, I am sure I will come in screaming, carb cravinggggggggggggggggg :fr: but right now I am just so fed up with the , welll, those kind of carbs can kiss my hiney! lol put it that way! Let's rock it! :).

Hi Newshinyme, bravo for eating on OP or very close to it, for posting and being mindful of your plan and for just keeping on truckin' :). Thanks for sharing, Ihear you on the minduflness days.....oh me too! Let's stay mindful! :) Hope you had a great weekend.

Mrs.Homestretch, omgoodness! :) Congratulationsssssssss on your loss :carrot::cheer3::cheer2::cheer: that is awesome! I hear so much about those elliptical and them being such cal burners, oh doooooo tell me more! What a cal burn. Speaking of inpiration my dear lady, I want to run out and get an elliptical lol. Seriously thinking about adding some new peice of equipment this fall (If i dont join a gym still) and it may just be the elliptical after all I ahve heard and read about it. I really need to make sure I like it first hto ugh.
You have absolutely every right to be proud and congratuations :carrot::carrot::congrat: on making it past those food temptations and making wise food choices! Congratulations also on your workouts! Keep up the awesome work, you are :flame: in a very good way! Hol donto that and keep on shining :) thanks again for sharing and all.

Mcrunner, hey th ere :). I went on the walking route with DH and saw a few moms with those joggign strollers and oh how I admire them. Glad your here and indeed , keep posting :). Good luck tomorrow at the docs, talk soon.

Okay ladies, here is the scoop with me today. I felt so excited about starting the SBD plan again (after a long moratorium from it) yet cranky as well , which caught me off guard! I am not the cranky type but was today and sure it was out of pure frustration. Dh came home early (cause he had something going on) and thank god ladies! I was in a panic! Oh , it's warm out...........I can't wear my velour top, I will look like an idiot! I have nothing to wear! lol can you relate? well, the poor guy. Yup! Just want you to know that that is what happened because as postive as I am on here and I am only because I manage to turn it around (with all of us togehter of course) this is what happened today! Just one of those days girls. I changed like 4 times looking for an outfit to wear walking, lol! Ran downstaris, cried, forget it! I dont have a warm weather outfit! Thank god my DH knows me! lol. Get upstairs honey, put what you had on and let's go! lol. That did it right thre! Went for our walk, (yes we both survived ) and then I came home a whole new woman! Did my wii and went to give him a big hug and say thanks.

I then decided, somewhere along that way, **** no. THis is awful! Im not falling into this pit of depression or despair again. I said **** no!!!!!!!!! Onward we go! So we pick up, whether it be from a first day one or a continuation, and we move forward and put our energy into our new day, yes?

To our new day my ladies! :) Remember, we can do anything, absolutely ANYTHING we set our minds too! Let's fight together and let's keep on truckin'
hugs to you all

Wow!!! You have done great!!! I don't think I would worry about those last few pounds though. I would think for your height right where you are now would probably be okay. I know...back in the day when I was 108 lbs, I looked anorexic. AND it was very hard to stay at that weight. Plus, I am only a little taller then what you are...This is just MHO....But CONGRATS on a great weight loss and getting all that water in already. Go Row!!!!

I'm not too worried about the last few pounds. It'll be nice to get to my goal weight, but my primary goals are more tangible. Even though I only weigh 108, I still have 25% body fat, which I am trying to get down. I also originally had very bad eating habits and exercise habits. My focus is on eating healthy foods, exercising regularly, really just changing my lifestyle, and hoping to get my body fat down. I also have a tiny frame and I'm very slight. My mom is my size and weighs under 105, and is very healthy and not anorexic looking at all. I am thin (much moreso than I was) but certainly not overly so. If I stay at 108 and get to 18% BF or less, and look muscular, and eat a healthy diet, then I will be ecstatic. I just think that the weight will come along with these other changes. Thanks for you concern, though!

You also mentioned it being hard to stay at that weight - I have maintained 25 pounds lost for the past year while eating pretty much whatever I want and exercising moderately. 115 is where my body has been staying when I stay within a reasonable calorie limit, but don't control the healthiness of my diet. I didn't set out to get lower than that - in January or so I decided to start being healthier, and the weight started to come off with the behavior changes. I set my goal weight to lose ten pounds from there, though gaining muscle is a big part of this too, so we'll see where I get to. I've been losing a consistent pound a month or so since then, so I don't think I'm being unhealthy.

Today was a great day. I did my strength training, ran a mile without stopping, drank a ton of water, and didn't have any desserts. Yay! Congrats to everyone else who is surviving this Monday! Mondays are harrrrd!

SupaChix 05-04-2009 10:03 PM

FullSteamAhead- yes we did make it to the park. I am not sure how far the ride was as we were already into it a ways before the signs are posted for distance, but it was at least 3 miles. The path goes winding through this woods, there are a lot of people walking and riding thier bikes, it's nice wide paths. Anyhow you don't realize you are riding so far because it's such a pleasant ride. I just wish it weren't so far from home.

Bre and I took our bikes into the small town nearby that her friend lives in and we all went bike riding tonight. We live out in the country, so we have to take the bikes somewhere because people FLY down our road and we feel like we are going to die out there. It's kind of hard to take a walk too, but at least we can go down into the ditch when a car comes.

SupaChix 05-04-2009 10:05 PM

Congrats!

:carrot: That is spectacular! I am happy for you!

That's so funny you would mention the Gardens...I haven't been there in years and was reading the Sunday paper and there was an insert of "99 things to do". I ripped out the ones I want to do...the Gardens was one of them.

Jacqui_D 05-05-2009 08:07 AM

NSM, you have no idea how many times I get the exercise and weight loss threads mixed up, lol! :dizzy:I'm constantly double-checking to make sure I'm on the right one. I usually have two windows up and I just know that sooner or later, I'm going to post the lists on the opposite threads, lol! Good for you staying so OP! I just know that exercise will help with the plateau. Just keep on! You're doing great! :cp:

MrsH, congrats on the 5.4 lb loss!!! :carrot: That is incredible! You really rocked that exercise and it sure did pay off!!! Great job!!! Keep it up!! Oh, and I just laughed at your husband saying your butt looked "pointier"! Lol!!!

Oops, hit the send button by mistake on the last post! I wasn't finished, lol!

Lewis, way to go girl!!! I knew you could do it!! You have amazing determination when you set your mind to doing something!! You rocked yesterday!! What a great way to start the week! :carrot:

Hi Jacque, Cake, Delphi, and the rest of our ladies!!

TOM came to visit me this morning, unfortunately, and blew me up like a balloon. So I am bloated and "ow-ie" this morning. Maybe once I get out and walk, I'll feel better. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Delphi 05-05-2009 08:22 AM

@ JacquiD ~ I know how you feel. However, when I walk everyday, it seems to be much shorter and lighter...thankfully. But when you feel "blah" it's hard to motivate yourself to actually do it.
