Gooooood Morning Ladies!!!

First of all I want to appologize for not doing personals--I have twin 2 yr olds and very limited computer time so I usually only have time for a 'blanket congrats' or maybe one or two congrats at typing. :) I hope you all know that when I do get to read the posts that I'm amazed and inspired by what you are all doing to get healthy and I am proud of each and everyone one of you! :) Hopefully I'll have more time once school lets out for typing personals and such, until then, know that even if I don't type it out, I'm cheering for each and every one of you! :cheer:

So, still doing great--haven't had a cheat day since I started this journey back in April! Not sure what it is that's different this time, but I'll take it! :) I bought a new scale yesterday--our old one was rather persnickity and required a lot of stepping on and off the scale to get an accurate reading. Plus, it only measured whole numbers, no fractions so I figured I'd get a new one. This one reads your BMI, lets you know the estimated calories needed to maintain your weight (you enter in a 'activity' level, age, sex & height) and the best part: It says I'm lighter than the old scale! LOL So, it's about 1.5 lbs lighter than the old one and boasts "150 Years of Accuracy, Medical Grade" so I'm going to go with it! I'll adjust my ticker so that shows a more accurate start weight.

I'm also down almost 2 lbs from yesterday!!! I can't even believe it! But I am! The new scale put me at 185.8 last night and 183.6 this morning!!! I am so excited! I'm sure my weight will stay put for a bit now, that's usually how it goes, I stay put for 4-5 days then see a big drop off. We'll see...

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great morning!!! Congrats to everyone's losses and bravo for all the will power you ladies have!!! Keep it up and you'll meet your goals in no time!!! Have a fantastic day and be sure to...

Drink Your Water!!!!!

;)

Delphi, that's what I'm hoping, that the exercise will make it easier to bear. The first couple of days are always the worst! You're right that it is hard to get motivated, but I'll do it anyway! If I feel bad tomorrow, I'll put off strength training this week until Thur. and Sat. instead of what I had planned, which was Wed. and Fri. As long as I get it in, huh?! Lol! :)

CMof4, what great news you have!! A new scale and a new weight loss to start it off right!! Congrats on the 2 lbs down!! :carrot: It is fantastic that you have stayed so committed each day since April!! Keep it up, chickie!!! You are doing great!! :carrot: :cp: Oh and don't worry if you can't fit in time for personals! We're just happy that you are here and participating, reading and posting, and being so supportive and encouraging, and working toward your goals! :)

UMMMMMMM crazymamaof4- I think I would like to buy a new scale like that too, what kind is it?? LOL-:chin: I would also like to lose 1 1/2 pounds each time I bought it! I would be poor, but It would be worth it!!!!!!!;)

JaquiD- Sorry you don't feel well today! TOM can really suck the life outta ya! Be good to yourself today!!!!

MrsHomeStretch 05-05-2009 11:57 AM

crazymamaof4 - Man, that is great about the new scale! No cheat day since APRIL!? Wowzers! I wish I was that good. But, I know what you mean about feeling something different. That is how I feel this time, really like I'm on the home stretch :) Name overkill, I know, lol.

Jacqui_D - I know what you mean about the motivation. Just keeping pushing and this will be over with before you know it.

Last night and this morning have been AWESOME for me! Couldn't believe it, got on the scale this morning and it said 216.8! I am really going to try not to get on the scale until next Monday so I won't get sad if it fluctuates. My goal is to get to around 213.8 by next Monday, so I am well on my way.

Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the treadmill in the morning (200cs), and after work I did the elliptical for 40 minutes. Because my stamina has increased so much I was able to do fifty more calories than usual in the same amount of time, so 550cs. Then, before I went to bed I did another 30 mins on the treadmill at home (200cs). That gives me a total of 950cs burned, and I ate exactly 1300cs. Pretty awesome!

This morning I did my usual 30min on the treadmill. I was pretty psyched because I decided to wear my 'skinny' jeans today. Basically, they are really tight. Usually when I wear them I have (and this is so imberresing) to leave them on unbottoned/unzipped for a while to stretch them out enough to zip them up. Well, this morning I was able to zip them up right away! They are still tight, but much more cumfy. :carrot:

I am just SO motivated lately, and I don't want to waste this energy. The elliptical is definitely a good thing to try. I like it much better than a treadmill or stationary bike. But, I use it at the gym because I don't want to worry about maintenance. Plus, the gym has some special ones that are a little different than most you see around. Still, they are a lot of fun to try!

Thanks you all for the encouragement! I'm having so much fun reading through the thread and seeing how everyone's doing! Keep up the good work!

I'm still hanging in here. I am up a bit from the beginning of the month (0.4pounds) and it will come down again soon. I am nearly ready to settle in a new routine here. We are part way through finals week and once that is over my life is my own again... I do however get a fair bit of exercise supervising the exams - three of the four exams I am giving are large classes and in a theater - so I am trotting up and down the stairs to answer questions and to keep an eye on everyone. Last exam is tomorrow morning and then it is just grading my small class and submitting the rest. Back to the gym I go SOON!!! I actually miss being there!

FullSteamAhead 05-05-2009 12:34 PM

Hi girlssssssssss :) happy new day!

THis is a quickie for post now, I will be back later on but wanted to check in and say hi. Read all your news ladies and congratulationsssssss on good days, exercise , and the lbs. lost! :carrot::carrot: Lewis, wtg! Here is to another super day.

I feel much better today, def. released some of those fluids that were making me feel yucky. Lousy rainy weather here now, as many of you had previously. I am working on the house this week to finish up the upstairs spring cleaning and cleaning in general so it's good weather to get everything done indoors andddd do my workouts.

Lene, happy day 2. I will be eating primarily my salads, chicken , turkey, eggs and picked up some green zuchinni and eggplant to make some baked veggies . It will be back to the market Thurs. Let's keep on truckin.

Jacqui, hope you feel better and that the walk helps, hug. I will be back later on. to you all. Keep up the great work everyone :)

SuzyQ 05-05-2009 12:44 PM

Good Afternoon Ladies :sunny:

I'm sorry that I haven't been on lately. I've been busy with baseball. between practices and games, I'm living in my car. As far as the first week is going...... it's going good. Today is Cinco da Mayo and my co-workers are going out and having some Marguritas  and food :hungry:. I am joining them and I plan on checking over the menu and not letting my eyes speak for my stomach, I see food and I eat it. My vistor TOM is here and so far TOM and I have been kosher. No pain, mood swings, cravings, just tired. Anyways, I have to get to work. I'll post my WI on friday. Great job to all of you. Keep it up. Only 26 days left :carrot: "Agarre el dia" - Seize the day!!!! :lifter:

Mornin' everybody!

First to some personals :D

Lewis: Sounds like you did really well yesterday, keep it up :carrot:. We are here for you.
The plateau is probably partly my fault. I have slacked off with my keeping track of my eating, so even though I *think* I am doing fine, I probably am eating more than I should.
Jacqui:: Hope the walk makes you feel better. I hate that crummy feeling I get with my TOM too.
crazymamaof4: You are doing awesome! Congratulations! That sounds like a really fancy scale, what kind is it?
MrsHomeStretch: Wow! You are an inspiration. And WTG! On the jeans :D
SuzyQ: have fun tonight!

I've been doing alright too. Tonight we might have some friends over to watch the hockey game, and that means take out....I will try and lobby for something healthy-ish like sushi or something so I don't do so bad. Wish me luck!

mcrunner 05-05-2009 02:28 PM

weigh in

Wow...y'all are all doing so great! I want to have time to come back and say something to each of you that are so inspirational, but will have to try later. Gotta get the boys from preschool. Brief update...ran with the jogging stroller yesterday 2.5 miles and walked the rest. Food/calories today are on target and I'm thrilled about how I'm feeling about it. It feels good being on target! Now, I just have to remember that when the munchies hit! Weighed in at the doc today at 136.6 (was 135.5 first thing this morning on my home scale). The doctor is a friend of mine and I know she was trying to make me feel good but she said "you are in a decent place, and right where you were two years ago." Which is great, except that 2 years ago at this appointment I'd just had a baby 5 weeks before. Ugh. So, just trying to harness that into motivation to stay on target and get back to where my body likes to be when I'm feeding it correctly. Thanks for being here, girls!

Jacqui_D 05-05-2009 02:42 PM

Terapet, again, please forgive me for not getting you on the list sooner! I think I must be going a bit senile! :dizzy: I don't know if I missed your original post on the other thread or what! I am sorry!

Lewis, MrsH, FSA, and NSM, thank you for the well wishes! I was hoping the walk would help, and I'm sure it did somehow, but oh my did it hurt! Every step I took was misery. It took me 35 minutes to go two miles. The first 15 minutes I was so s-l-o-w, lol! The next fifteen minutes, I picked it up, but I still couldn't complete 2 miles in 30 minutes. Nope, it took an extra five, which I also slowed down on. And then I think it took 8 minutes for the short walk out to my car afterwards, lol! Not fun!

MrsH!!! What is your secret?!! My word, chickie, the lbs are just falling off of you!! Congrats on the loss!! :carrot: And congrats on those jeans! I think we all have a pair like that, lol!

Lene, water's looking good! :D

Econ, great attitude!! You are so right--it will come down! Aren't you glad you have those stairs to get the exercise in?

SuzyQ, ah, the chauffeur years, I remember them well, lol! I loved those days with all the ball games, but yes, it does keep you hopping! Have fun tonight and let us know how you did! :hat: I'm glad TOM's not slowing you down! :)

Mcrunner, congrats on the loss!! And for staying OP! Great job! :carrot:
