I did actually make a change...i am going atkins style for at least a week to jumpstart my weight loss again. I just kept thinking to myself...my mom lost 10 lbs in one week doing low carb and she was only 40 lbs from goal...if she can I can and I definitely need to see a drop like that at this point. I have been at this for 6 whole months and it just seems like it is going so slow and I still feel huge. 10 lbs has got to help get rid of that feeling.

Anytime I cut back on carbs I lose weight, I was looking over my food journals from January and February, when I lost the most weight and the one thing that stood out was that I really didnt consume much carbs at all. Now, I eat light carbs but nonetheless, I have come to the conclusion that that is the issue.

Ok. I have a busy weekend ahead of me, so I will definately not be able to check in after this post, so have a good weekend. I will catch up on Sunday when I weigh in.

Take care!

Hi Ladies!

Welcome Kosh............awwww England, as place I have always wanted to visit. You will have to show us some pictures of the countryside! Congratulations on your weightloss so far!

Tiff......WOO HOO! Wow, your doing great! I did Atkins years ago, and yes it will jump start you. I did lose, but gained it back........oh well, my own fault! Let us know how it goes reducing your carbs.

Lindy......yummm, I love those evil biscuits at Red Lobster! Gosh, now you have me thinking about them! I hope you have a great weekend and we will talk to you Sunday.

Well, hello to Burgund - who is on vacation, and Neesy - who is busy working, and Brown-Eye - hmmmm not sure where she is??? LOL

I have had a busy day, but was thrilled when I weighed this morning and am down another pound.......YES! I pray I don't gain when I weigh tomorrow as I did eat two pieces of fried chicken - oops, me bad!

Have a great night all.

Hey girls!!! I see all those scales creeping down! YAY! All except mine of course. I haven't been eating horrible, but I haven't been exercising like I use to either. I have been doing a lot of out door activities lately which I didn't use to do. For instance, yesterday, my husband and I walked by the river at this park downtown for a good 2-3 hours. But I know I need to exercise for real. Well.. I just woke up and am starving. I will have some fiber cereal and an orange and maybe an english muffin. I really need to come on here more and keep tabs on my eating/exercising. Luckily, I haven't gained. I will check in later.

Neesy! Good to see you! I miss you posting like you used to. You used to have all these stories for us and let us know how daily life was. I miss that! But if it can be explained by you spending as much time as possible with you husband before he ships out...then that's fine. I know you need that. Just wanted to let you know I missed our dear founder of this thread.

Lindy and Sandy, thanks for the congratulations. I have even more good news today! Down to 289!!! That's five lbs in two days (since I started doing atkins) and 6 lbs this week. I think my combination of atkins and calorie counting is really going to work. I have been eating only low/no carb foods and keeping my calories around 1200 still. OMG I am soooo happy to be in th 280's but then at the same time it's like, how could I be happy to be that fat?!? 280's is huge!!!

On another topic, depending on the outcome of my lunch with my mom today, I will either be getting married next month or next year on July 4th either year. She has to decide if she can handle me getting married without her there or if she wants to pay for a huge wedding next year. Because I would be eloping next month if it happened then. Next year, everyone is invited. I can't decide which I want to do. I am a pretty private person and have never had to be in a situation where all attention is on me. I don't know if I can handle that. I feel like I would be embarrased and uncomfortable having all that fuss made over me. But on the other hand, I want AMAZING wedding photos. So that's why it would have to be next summer. I would be nearly to my goal and nearly skinny (well the skinniest I have ever been). Ugh....give me some opinions guys...what do you think I should do?

Hey Tiff and Neesy!

TIFF TIFF!! WOO HOO!!!! WOO HOO!!!! 80's WOW! I am soooo happy for you and don't you dare mention a negative, that 280 is huge. NO TIFF! You just take in your success and my gosh, look how much you have lost! That is sooo wonderful. Let us know about your wedding date!

Neesy, so good to hear from you. I think it is just awesome that you and your husband do things like walking and all together. Many couple don't, they just exist. You weight will drop, just watch your calories and keep being active with your husband.

Today has been nice (a little boring). I haven't done a whole lot of anything actually. I did spend a hour or so in the pool and swam alittle, not alot! lol I also did pick up some more organic fruit at the store and that was the extent of my day! LOL.......boring. Oh, my daughter did leave for Kings Bay today where she is stationed for two years........I miss her already and cried when she left. Maybe that is why I am just bored and down today.......

Oh, my weight is good still. No more pounds lost the last couple of days, but I am kicking it back in tomorrow for next Mondays goal!

Bye for now!

Thanks you guys. Yeah.. I definitely am trying to maximize the time I have with my husband. He leaves August 5th.. Trying to make some happy memories before he leaves. Ugh.. I'm going to be so sad.. so I'm trying to cram all the happiness in now. I weighed myself today and was 209!!! AH!
I definitely have been slacking in the food department. I am vowing not to eat out anymore.. well at least for a few months. I'm going to go jogging in the mornings again. We're going at 4:30 am . I really can't wait. It makes me feel like I accomplished something when I exercise. My goal is to lose 10lbs by the time my husband leaves.. putting me in onederland finally. I've only been close for like 4 months!!!

Today, I took my nephew to the park. I got a lot of exercise and sweat a lot. I ate 2 turkey sandwiches, 2 oranges, a small salad and for dinner some baked turkey, corn, and pasta. Not terribly bad on calories... but I know I could do better.

Anyway, I haven't dropped out of the forum or anything. Just wanted to let you guys know that if I'm MIA.. that means I'm staying busy wit the hubby. I still miss and love you guys!!!

Sandy-Sorry you had to say bye to your daughter. I bet she looks forward to seeing how much you've lost/changed each time she sees you. That's my goal. I want to WOW my husband when he gets out of training. Feel better. Tomorrrow is a new beginning. I'm with ya!

Tiff-You amaze me. You keep truckin right along. Everytime I come on here.. your number goes down and down. You're going to pass me up! As far as your wedding, I think you're pictures will be good no matter when you do them.. because you'll have that wedding glow and be happy. My pictures were when I was 240. I don't feel like I looked bad though.. because I was just beaming. It's weird how being happy/feeling about yourself can change how you look on the outside. On the other hand, one month away isn't very long in wedding planning... It can be pretty stressful. Maybe a year would be good just for the planning aspect alone. I need to kick it into gear. My dad and I want to do remakes of my wedding photos together. He weighed close to 500lbs at the time of my wedding. He is now 370. He wants to be 250. I want to be 150. Then.. I'm going to get my wedding dressing taken in and my dad a new suit. Then taking new pictures. Haha.. Just our little goal for ourselves. Just thought I'd share.

Boy I wrote a lot. Sorry you guys! I get on a roll sometimes. talk to you all later

So apparently the last 10-15 lbs have really affected my running abilities. Tonight, my fiance and I found this really cool boardwalk that weaves through a slough and mangroves and over a river and all the way until you get to a beach. It was really beautiful and peaceful. So, we decided to run parts of it (when there were no people around) and let me tell you, I was panting like you wouldn't believe, but when we got back to the car I felt GREAT. It was 3/4 a mile each way. So we did 1.5 miles like it was nothing, and we probably ran about a 3rd of it. That is probably going to end up being my new "thing". Like every few weeks I really enjoy doing some activity. For a while it was bike riding, then it was living in the gym every day, now it is going to be the boardwalk. The ONLY problem was the misquitos.

On the weight loss front, down another lb today, but probably won't stay off after how I ate today. Let's see, I had a stressful morning. We found this amazing bedroom set on craigslist for super cheap. OMG, I can't even discuss it. But it was absolutely perfect, for less than a third of what we would pay for it at a furniture store. So we had an appt at 11 am (which the lady suggested), we go rent a trailer because we were sure we were going to buy it, and we get 5 mins down the road and she calls and says she sold it already. What a B****!!!! She sold it out from under us! That is not right and we were soooooooo upset about it, since we were so excited to get it. So we ate donuts. LOL. 3 EACH. Because of course you have to get a half dozen!!! Then later that afternoon, while we were out allll day running errands, we had bob evans. I had 4 chicken fingers and a few fries. THEN, my mom wanted to go out to dinner (of course). So I had a house salad at outback a few bites of don's mac n cheese, a few of his fries, one of my mom's shrimp, and a sampler size brownie sunday thing. Somehow, like 30 minutes after all that food, I managed to run. Not sure how that happened.

I am not even going to discuss the wedding plans. I thought I had them figured out after that lunch with my mom, but then I come home and Don tells me he doesn't want a wedding at all and he didn't think I would choose that option. So huge fight last night, yadda yadda yadda. Although in the middle of the fight I did something I had never done before. I went to the gym - at 12 AM!!! Got my anger and frustration out that way!

So, my life is continuing to be completely stressful and drama-filled like usual. My life would probably be way more interesting as a reality show than most of those other ones!!! I'm off to bed, I didn't get much sleep last night.

Sorry guys, I went MIA for 3 days. Anyway, I did weigh in yesterday and I lost another pound. Woo-hoo! This is especially gratifying because I ate an all you can eat buffet Saturday night. We went to Aquatica (Seaworlds Water Park) and had a blast. Anyway, I have 5 days till my vaca and would be ecstatic if I can make it to 190 by Friday. I WILL be weighing myself every day and updating my ticker to keep myself accountable.

Mygrits - BIG HUG ! I know your missing your daughter. My mom lives 4 houses down from me and I told my husband (when we were together), wherever my mom goes, I go. Lol. If I dont talk to her 3 times a day, I have withdrawals. Anyway, kudos on another pound lost!!! Gosh, you guys are surely over your plateau's right now, its great, its exciting.

Tiff - do you think we can put a helmet on you and strap a webcam to your head? Lol. I kid...I kid. Seriously, sorry to hear about all the dramz but I must admit, the fact that you are losing despite everything going on is quite impressive. Dont let Don get to you, its a guy thing. They could care less about a wedding. Its about what you want and ultimately, he will cave in. If you wait a year, you would look awesome and have more time to save and get your dream wedding and Im SURE you will be at your goal by then, which means you very well may like the attention. However, IF I was in your boat. I would just alope and use the money towards the house or a really nice vacation.

Neesy - Im so envious that you are your husband do so much together. We know your not MIA. I have regressed with my Pit Bull "accountability" Teeth because I know your hubby will be leaving soon. Lol. But when August gets here, watch out now. lol. 10 pounds before August is totally doable, you CAN do this.

Ok, so - I ended up buying a 2 piece yesterday!!! Oh yeah. I went to Walmart of all places to pic of some stuff for my trip and walked past this bathing suit that was just saying "Nicole, buy me", lol. So I tried it on (by the way - a size 11/12!!!) and it fit like a glove!!! Now, I do not have the prettiest belly in the world, but there are no rolls, back fat or anything, so I bought it. I MIGHT take pics if I can lose abother 5 pounds and post them here. If your lucky, lol. Well, I better get to work. Ill check in later.

Really -seriously? I just logged on thinking, crap, I let the day fly by and havent posted again and then I check the forum and I was the last to post. Hmmm....slackers!!!

Where the heck is Stacie?

Burgundy has a pass because of vaca.

Kity is busy wrapping up her part-time job.

Back2Basics - wow, its been forever. Did we lose another one?

Anyway, today has been a crazy day. An interesting turn of events happened this weekend that I forgot to write about. You know how I had a roommate lined up? Well, my Aunt called me on Saturday asking if my cousin, Melissa could move in with me because her BF kicked her out. I was like, uh-yeah, sure, not thinking it was for real because everytime a couple gets in a fight they say things they dont mean. Well, it turns out that they have been separated for a couple of weeks and he was sick of her procrastinating on moving out so he just put her stuff on the curb (JERK), so she moved in with me today! I havent even told the other girl yet. I feel bad but family comes first. Besides, she wasnt moving in until August, so she still has a month and a half to look for another place. I just feel really bad. Anyway, on my lunch break I helped her unload her truck so I am STARVING. I have not had anything since 7 a.m. this morning and that was a bowl of oatmeal. You know what is strange? I munch all day long and always feel hungry, but if I go without eating the whole day, after about 4 hours with no food, the hunger pangs wear off and I dont feel anything anymore. Why is this? I know its terrible for your metabolism and trust me, it is not intentional but I was just wondering if anyone else feels this way.

Anyway, have a good night. I have to go to Lowes tonight to get keys made, then clean up around the house because it is an absolute disaster area.

Hey girls, I just wanted to check in real quick. Dont have time to reply to everyone. But it sounds like everyone is doing great. I am having a blast. My 5 year old niece is my shadow, she barely leaves my side. I havent been weighing and have basically been eating whatever, yikes. We have been doing a lot of walking. To everyone that asked, my sister is doing just fine, she had a drain in for a week but got it out today. I will try to check in in a day or two. Have a great night everyone

Holy crapola! I have increased my cardio for this week to the extreme so I can lose a few extra pounds this week before my trip (because I know I stand a chance of gaining a few pounds) and I hopped on the scale and well...it was 191!!! Another pound! If I can get into the 180's which I really think is possible, that would be awesome! Anyway, Im kinda bummed no one logged on yesterday except Burgundy but I understand, everyone has busy lives.

Burgundy - glad to hear your having a good time on vaca. I only have 4 more days, I cant wait!

Speaking of vaca, Im not sure if I will be able to pick up wifi where I am vacationing at, if not, I MAY be MIA for a week, lets hope not. Ill check in later. Have a great day!

Hey all,

Thank you so much for the welcome, It's nice to see you all again, Omg lindy you are so lucky living in orlando, I love it so much, I really want to moce to america with my husband we are looking at charlotte though.

So anyway, this week no weight loss, tho Tom is here so I blame that, at least there is no gain. I am so sluggish lately, I just cannot get my butt into gear, you guys are doing amazingly well, I hope I learn a trick or two from you

I've never really done atkins or low carbs, but I knwo you have great losses with it, so thinking about it. My friend did it once and got so angry generally it was awful.

I am almost half way to goal, and I think that my best time for losses was when I exercised more, but like I said motivation is lacking at the moment. I am gonna dig out my January/february food logs on fitday and follow that I did so much exercise then aswell.

What kind of meats would you eat on atkins, I dont eat Beef as it tastes too bloody but ill eat pork and chicken, how would you cook it? and would you eat it with veggies???

Hmm research here I come, anyway talking of food my supper is ready, mmmm grilled chicken, veggies and corn on the cob.....

See ya all soon

Hey Koshi - I can totally relate with what you said about your friend becoming grumpy while trying to do Atkins. I cannot go in whole heartedly with no carbs, I am not a pleasant person to be around, but just cutting back on them, that will get you there. Also, if you consume carbs, try to do so in the morning, that way you have all day to burn them off (most of them that is).

Ok guys, whats going on here? I hope I log on tomorrow and see a slew of of posts. I hope everyone is doing ok. Man oh man did I screw up today. I ate a box of whoppers (the candy) today, a box of gobstoppers (the candy) and had a combo chinese food meal with sesame chicken, pork fried rice and an egg roll with a grape soda!!! I can pretty much change my ticker right now. Lol.

Howdy, all! I'm relatively new to the boards still and just ran across your thread. Hope you don't mind a semi-newbie tagging along : )

Luckylindy - you are a hoot! Your posts made me laugh!! BTW, it looks like we're in about the same place right now, weight-wise - maybe we can egg each other on in the pursuit of 180 and below? Just out of curiousity, what brought on your candy cravings today? I'm still trying to figure out my triggers - for example, why yesterday I was randomly starving all day and had to eat an entire bag of light microwave popcorn after having lunch when I was getting plenty of calories in before that and shouldn't have been hungry at all. It's a mystery, I tell ya'.

Tifftiff - Wow, what a wild and crazy life you have! : ) Lots going on! And such an incredible weight loss so far - you're my hero!! So glad to hear you enjoyed jogging - I'm addicted myself - the endorphin rush is amazing afterwards.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and compliment you all on being such a fun and lively group!!
