  • Hi everyone...hope all is well. You are probably all sleeping...

I did Yoga tonight...it was pretty awesome - I am going to keep doing it every Tuesday - I didn't get stuck - woo hoo!!

Check out my blog for updated photos - I can't believe what a difference with only a few pounds lost. Just goes to show the scale has nothing on film! It really motivated me to see the change. I am shy about sharing stuff like this but I figure that if I can help motivate someone else then it's all worth it. As long as they don't end up on the internet....OMG!

Will check in tomorrow...looks like everyone has a long weekend 'hangover'
  • Mygrits - I hate when something you love becomes something you cant have. I should be a lavel reader because ater skimming through Jillians book, thats why 80% of us are overweight anyway, but my reasoning for giving up certain foods is less for whats in the product but more the caloric intake. Does that make sense? Sometimes I babble and re-read my post and think "what the heck was I trying to say", lol. Anyway, I am SO happy that we have been getting a break from the rain. I dont mind afternoon showers everyday, hey - it conserves on my water bill, but the daily down pours - ALL DAY LONG - ugh, they were making me miserable.

Burgundy - my husband was cranky yesterday (1 more month till he moves out) and wanted to watch a movie on our DVD player, which was right around the time I was going to do my Jillian DVD, so I didnt do it. So there you have it! I missed my second cheat day, GREAT - do now I HAVE to do it the rest of the week, no ifs...ands...or buts.

Stacie - I keep swearing I am going to make it to a Yoga session at my gym one of these days. How are you liking it? Oh, I saw your photos (before and after), your not kidding you can see a difference - wow! Kudos to you. I wish my before picture was done in like a sports bra and shorts, I mean, techinically I can still do it because I still have another 60 pounds to go, hmmm...I think I will. This weekend, I will take a new before pic. The one I have now is not a flattering one (which is good), but it is in a sweat suit, so its hard to tell.

Anyway, so does anyone want to here something funny? I AM DILUSIONAL!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. I went to the pool this past weekend and there were some pleasantly plump woman with 2 pieces on, and I was like "hey - Im about their weight, I could totally pull off a bikini", LMAO <rolling on the floor>. WELL, I went to Target yesterday to go and try on a bikini in my "Im too sexy for my one piece attitude" and well, uh..lets see....errr........

NEWS FLASH!!! IM NOT AS SKINNY AS THEM! LMAO

This is so funny, you should have seen my face when I put it on. Thats ok though, because I WILL eventually be there. It didnt get me down, its made me nearly pee myself with laughter, but definately did not get me down.

Ok, enough babbling. Im actually going to lay off on counting calories this week and see what happens. I getting burnt out and I pretty much know what is good and what is bad, so lets see if it works.

    Ill check in later.

    Later taters!
  • Neesy, Tiff and Kity - where are you guys?! Helllllllloooooooo - are you out there? lol.
  • Hello Everyone -

Lindy - I totally understand about the focus on the food versus whats in the food. I had the same thoughts for a long time, and probably still would but I guess at my age......UGH......our priorities change. My body has changed alot the last two years, and I guess I am feeling it a priority to keep as much crap and chemicals out of it as possible. My sister died of breast cancer at the young age of 47, and my father has diabetes. Well, being in menapause now, I can feel different 'things' taking place in my body from years of not caring for it (being fat), so I am trying to really make some critical changes before it's too late. Makes since? LOL..............Oh, yes rain and I am about sick of being dumped on - literally! Did you see the flooding in Daytona? Good grief and it wasn't even a Hurricane! LOL........

Brown-Eyed - I do envy you doing Yoga, as I always wanted to try it. It seems so great for stress relief, flexability and all. Maybe one of these days I will get around to it. In Deland (smaller town) there are only two places that offer it, and they aren't that great. I will check out your blog too!

Burgund - Thank you, but you could catch up to me quick - it's only one pound..LOL.....When is your family reunion? I know what you mean about no internet. When I took care of my mom I felt lost at certain times of the day without reaching out on the keyboard!

I will check it later - need to walk the dog and do some work.
  • hey, got a couple of jillian links you might like:

  • just checking in..........i will have to catch up on what is going on with everyone later on today or tommorow. Work is really hectic right now. It's usually like this from the long weekend, I am still getting caught up. I did horrible over the wknd, I ate and ate and ate and drank beer, light beer, but non the less I drank beer, alot. I am totally feeling like crap and bloated still!!! I am sticking to light meals and lots of water and salads, and deffinatly going to let jillian kick my *** and get back on the wagon. I feel like I failed, I need to get over this accept it and move on!!!!!!!
***Sorry, I needed to vent a little.
I will do my best to catch up tonight as I work a double shift today.again.
I am almost done with my late job, I think I will be giving my notice mid June!!! I am happy to be able to spend more time with my kids and maybe go back to school.
  • Thanks Kelly for the links, the Shape workout looks pretty intense. I think I am going to try it when I get home tonight.

Kity - time to just get back on track. I used to be my worst critic and although it sucks that my weight loss has slowed down from when I started, Im dealing. The important thing is that I dont gain anything back and Im not and your havent (since vaca - right?). So, just stay focused on that. We get in the spurts where we are in the zone and then fall off and then back in the zone and the fall off....well, you get the picture. You'll get there. Slow and steady wins the race, even if it takes you 2 years, you WILL get there in time.

I didnt do so well at lunch today, I had a big plate of fried pork, white rice and red beans (spanish style). The good news...Im not hungry AT ALL, but I am trying "regulate" myself by having coffee (no more laxative snafus, lol), so thats added calories that I really didnt need. I think I am going to go to the grocery store and buy ingredients to make an egg white omelette tonight. Its funny, in the past I would skip dinner all together but I am dead set on keeping my metabolim going so whether I like it or not, I am eating dinner, a low cal dinner, but nonetheless.

Anyway...hope everyone is having a good day. My day is going by SO SLOW. Ahhhhh....Friday get here already.
  • I'm here!!!

Well, we still haven't moved or closed on the house. I'm not sure what I told you guys last but the issue now is there are roots in the drainage field of the septic system. UGH. But, the good thing is that they are fixing it. The loan I am getting required septic, well, and water tests and I am getting the loan through the same bank as who is selling the house. So they have additional motivation to fix things and get this process done and over. I am HOPING to close next week, but I signed an addendum today to extend closing to June 12th at the latest. So that's worst case scenario, and next week is the best case. I want to move already!!!! I am most excited about the new bed I am getting. We have picked out a bunch of wonderful furniture from City Furniture and a nice new soft mattress is the highlight of it all. I have never bought new furniture, well any furniture ($20 bookshelves from walmart excluded), so it is a new and exciting experience for me.

I have been making lists of everything we have to do to move in and shortly after and it is just insane. My list is like 30+ items long.

My diet is going decent. I am in a maintenance phase. I just found out last week that my best friend is getting married in February and she asked me to be in her wedding. So that is additional motivation to get my act in gear to look fabulous in a bridesmaid dress. I've never been a bridesmaid yet, so I am excited! Then, another one of my good friends is getting married in Key West around the same time, so that means lots of summery revealing clothing. So, I pretty much have to get a move on and lose more weight! Yay for weddings!

Every Saturday I weigh and count that as my real weight, since it wildly fluctuates during the week and I ALWAYS weigh the least on Saturday and I have weighed 298.something 3 saturdays in a row. I haven't REALLY been watching what I eat, so something must have stuck from this new lifestyle change. I haven't been working out much either. Maybe 1 time a week. Something is up with my knee. When I move it the wrong way, it feels like bone is rubbing bone and also the muscle above my knee cap has been achey. I'm hoping it will just go away on it's own, but if not, I need to get it checked out before doing any cardio.

I don't have time to comment on the 5 days of posts I missed because I have to go get my dogs from my Mom's house. I had to hide them because we were having an apartment inspection and we aren't supposed to have dogs. So, our place is spotless and I have to go get the dogs so they can mess it up again.

I just wanted to give everyone an update on me and despite the fact I may have sounded like I was complaining, I am super positive about everything right now. Sorry I can't contribute more support right now, but I know you guys understand how hectic this stuff is (Lindy especially, with her 20 lb gain from homebuying).
  • Morning ladies!

Tiff - wow, what a mouthful, lol. Im glad you checked in, even if it is just to vent. I am happy to hear things are turning around in regards to the house, once its over, it will all be worth it. New furniture - how exciting! The only furniture I bought brand new was our game room furniture (black leather couch and oversized chair). Oh, my daughters furniture was also new when we bought it (crib for life), along with dresser and tv stand. I want SO BADLY to buy new bedroom furniture but that will not be happening for a VERY long time. But my current furniture isnt bad, I would just really love new stuff.
  • Ugh, I accidentally hit sent before finishing. lol. I had a really yummy breakfast this morning. An egg white omelette with spinich, mushrooms, scallions and fat free cheddar cheese (very little). AND a bowl of multi grain oatmeal with a teaspoon of honey. It was delicious and filling.

Time to get to work, Ill check in later.
  • tiff - yay on the house! and yay weddings....lol! new furniture-i am so jealous. i need a crane to get up off of my sofa cause it's so old...haha! and be careful with your knee, gosh i hope it's just temporary discomfort. have you had knee problems in the past?

nicole - great breakfast! and don't worry bout the pork, rice and beans. you have a way of turning that around.

well, i am sorry to say, i have done horrible the past 3-4 days. i really want to get to the core of my self-destruction and bought a book that jillian was reading called Broken Open-How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow. i'm hoping for a new insight to my behavior. i've been drinking beer, smoking, eating out and done no exercise other than those steps at the studio which feels like ages ago.

i just realized i had written a lot so i cut and pasted it in my 3FC blog if you are interested in it. i'm 'dumping' again and you don't have to read it but it's what is going on with me right now and i'm trying to figure out what to do.

i really want to get myself back together today. i guess since it's almost 11, i should get some food in me, huh?
  • Wow, Tiff, awesome to hear from you!! I am so glad things have turned around for you and your home purchase. The plus, is you will have a great septic system, which should last a long time. I am happy to you have maintained, good for you!

I am doing good. Did my walk this morning, and am happy to report I am down 'below' my June 1st goal now! Woo Hoo! I was hoping to just maintain it, but was pleasantly surprised when I weighed and was below it. Yes! So, now I am excited to see what June 1st brings!!!

Well, I am off to shower then start working in the home business stuff. I will check in later.

Oh, Take-Deep-Breath - Thanks for those video's. Geez, the Self.com one looks like it would be a killer - literally!!
  • Ok, Im doing ok today. After my delicious and filling breakfast I had a mid-morning banana, then for lunch I had two pieces of rye toast with hummus on it (the last of it, I wont buy anymore), a pickle and half a can of tuna fish, no mayo - just a little mustard. I feel full and pretty good. I am tired as all heck today. I am trying to rent out my guest bedroom to help with the costs once my husband moves out and she is coming over tomorrow so I have to do a major clean over. Ugh...I am not a fan of cleaning, especially when Im not in the mood. Oh well.

I am trying to make some changes, I have always consumed A LOT of water since I started trying to lose weight but Im trying to consume AT LEAST 12 glasses of water a day. I was also debating on trying to cut out as much sugar as possible. I dont want to completely deprive myself but I was thinking of doing just one day with sugar and every other day, being really strict. So yes, you read right - I am trying another weight loss method. I swear, I am definately in the zone as far as weight loss goes but I am trying anything and everything to get this weight off. Its frustrating when you change your diet and exercise routine DRASTICALLY and do not see huge dividends. I mean seriously - I NEVER exercised before January, now I go 6 days a week for AT LEAST 40 minutes, this flab should be melting off for that reason alone. Grrrr....I guess Im kinda having an "off" day. Sorry to be belly aching so much, I just need to keep on pushing. At least Im not gaining, right? Anyway, I hope everyone elses day is going better.

Mygrits - hearing you beat your goal is so inspirational, Im so happy to hear things are going so well for you.
  • Hey, thank you Lindy for the well wishes. I am with you and the 'off' feeling today. I just haven't been insync all day. It hasn't been an unproductive day, just not feeling 'uppity' (is that a word?). Anyway, maybe tomorrow will be better. I hope it works out with the room-mate tomorrow. Hey, cutting out sugar is tough. I cut mine way, way down, and only (or try) to eat 'real' sugar, not foods that have added sugar. I also don't do the candy, ice cream and that kind of stuff. I did this because I felt like I was borderline diabetic (my dad is). It's hard, because I love sugar, and I definitely had the withdrawals and headache to show for it. Anyway, I hope it goes easier for you than it did for me! LOL...............

Well, off to bed, I'm tired and ready to watch a move ;-)
  • Staccie-You can really tell a difference in your pictures. You look great.

Lindy-I missed 2 days of 30ds too. I am gonna get up and do it when I am done posting, cant miss another day. I leave for AL in 5 days. And the bikini thing, I have one, but NEVER wear it. My husband always want me to but I just laugh at him, not yet, no way. Your omelette sounds yummy. Good luck with the roommate tomorrow.

Mygrits-you are gonna leave me in the dust, I really need to be more strict with my eating. I'm gonna catch you!!!!

Kelly-thanks for the links. I will definitely be using those. Hopefully the book will help you figure out your behavior and put things in perspective for you.

Kity-how are you doing with 30ds? I have been slacking a little lately. I really dont need to. I want to get past 20lbs. I think the weekend was bad for a lot of us with the holiday. I wouldnt worry about and just get back to exercising and eating right

Tiff-you sound busy busy busy. Hope everything goes smoothly with your closing. Great job on maintaining. Glad you are staying positive and not sabotaging yourself and turning to food. I know thats what I would have done in the past if I was in a stressful situation.

I have been super busy lately with yard work, cleaning my house, getting everything ready for vacation, tomorrow my husband and I are cleaning my sister in laws yard. I have been tired at night and talking myself out of exercising. What am I thinking, but tonight is different. I am gonna get up and do it. I cant get in that same frame of mind I used to have and say oh I will do it tomorrow. No I will do it TODAY.

I'm trying to get all my packing done before Monday so I am not hurrying trying to figure out all I have to take. We always seem to forget something and I dont want to happen this time.

We didnt do anything over the weekend for memorial day so we are having a cookout on Saturday. I am gonna make a nice big salad. My hubby wants burgers and dogs. I want something healthy and tasty. Any suggestions.

Well the day is almost over so I better get to my workout and get in bed.
