Yay swimming!!! Doesn't it feel great to have accomplished your goal?????

I'm happy that I made my goal, but disappointed in myself for having seemingly stopped once I hit it! I do have one more day though, so I am going to do at least do my regular 3 mile walk today, just on principle!

Is everyone up for doing this again next month? Hope so!!!

OK, I got a 3.5 mile walk in this morning, so I'm finishing the month with 53.5 miles. Not too bad. Next month, I'm going to bump my goal up, but I'm not sure to what. My gut says 60 miles, but I wonder if I should make it even higher. It seems once I attain my goal, I think it's ok to slack, so perhaps I should say 70 to really challenge myself. What do you think?

I would make a goal that you think you can attain, but that will stretch you a bit. I am going to try for 50 miles again in October. I only made less than 30 miles this month, but I know I can beat that record, and I think I can make the 50.
I noticed that the first week went really slowly, the 2nd week was also pretty slow as far as building up the miles... then the next two weeks went flying by and I saw that I was not going to catch up.
I calculated the 50 miles, divided by 30 days and it was just over a mile a day, but in reality, I only workout five or six days a week, so I need to divide that 50 up by 20 or 24, not by 30. That's over two miles a day, which I can do easily, but I have to have that number in mind to start off the month.
I will start a new thread later tonight for an October challenge. Please sign up.
:-)

Thanks for your input. I looked back on my activity log for the month, and it looks like I only skipped 9 days. Doing twenty extra miles over those 8 days would be a stretch, especially since I know I won't do it every single day. I'm going to set next month's goal for 60 and really try to strive for more.

Looking forward to a new month and a new thread !

eta: Hey wanting, how did I not notice that you've made that leap into "onderland"???!!! Or did I? Anyways, congrats to you, if I haven't mentioned it before. I hope to be joining you by the end of this week!

thanks for noticing RMC.. I drifted into and then out of "one der-land" a couple of times this month. according to my scale, I am below, but according to my "official" WW weigh in, I'm not, so I don't feel like I am there yet. I will let you know when WW says that I am "officially" under...
should be this Saturday or next. I wear more clothes at WW than I do at home hehehehehee so the numbers are never quite the same.
I have been over and under this number for years, so it's not a big goal for me. I have a couple of other numbers that will get me excited later on.
I plan to have several of those happy days before next Summer starts. :-)
RMC how old are you? Maybe I'll race you to 130!

Hi ladies. I'm in for next month. Today was a hard day. It's my grandmas
2nd birthday in heaven. Went and took her a balloon, sang to her, then ate a bag of m&m's

I have a totally personal, tmi kind of question. Anyone care if I share it? I need some advice as I think it may effect my exercise this next month

sept. 30 3.12 miles

Ok here it goes..... has anyone ever had a hemorrhoid I had a little tummy problem the other day and because of all the time on the potty I got one. Talk about embarrassing Anyways, it nothing major just annoying and it didn't not feel good after exercising last night. I am upping my water intake, and fiber. Has anyone ever had to deal with this. I've read a little online about it, mine is very very minor that it said it should go away in a week or two

Ok now who's next... share something personal so I don't feel like a big dweeb

In the interest of supporting crazy in her dweebiness, I'll share: YES!! I have experienced the joy of hemorrhoids - a couple of times! I can remember one Mother's Day about 3 years ago. I spent it laying on the couch on my tummy so totally uncomfortable until my husband went out in search of Prep H.

BTW, I didn't think Prep H worked, but there are other things you can do. Skip this next sentence or two if TMI isn't your thing: keep area clean & dry, sooth on some medicated powder, bathe in Aveeno, keep your roughage and water levels up. Of course, if you're really in pain or if they're bleeding, you should see your doctor.

If it's not too painful, try to continue exercising if you can. I'd probably stay away from the bike until the episode is over, but walking/running/swimming is good. I hope you feel better soon. I know from experience it is extremely uncomfortable!!

Wanting, I didn't mean to ignore your question, I just missed it the first time I read through the posts. I'm 48, so I'm betting that you'll definitely beat me in the race to 130. I've found my metabolism to be much slower now than when I attempted to lose weight when younger. (At first, I thought you meant 130 miles! At this point, that would take me a month of 24/7 walking .
